The first time I came here I was impressed … and the second time. Yesterday I arranged to meet two sets of friends and two different times. This was to see if there might be an improvement on my last experience of dry and unrecognisable as cake, lemon cake. Sadly this will have been my last visit. I had some of the worst food I have been served in a very long time. Dry pancakes which tasted so badly of baking powder, and which had barely a dribble of honey on them. All I can say is the fruit was edible. Then later a lunch of chicken and halloumi wraps which may as well have been wrapped in cardboard. The fact that food was not eaten on both occasions didn’t prompt a question if all was ok, I was then asked if I wanted a loyalty card which I took for the irony, and as my lunch companion said, there wasn’t even any eye contact. My last visit as I have no idea what had happened to this place over the past few months!

Staff were lovely I must say that and lattes were very nice. My husband enjoyed his breakfast but mine was distinctly average and needed improvement. Toast was anaemic, it was impossible to tell it had even been toasted. Bacon was rock hard in places like it had been cooked ages ago and warmed up. Just personal choice but I also didn’t really enjoy eating my breakfast in what was essentially a garden shed. I also thought the place needed a good clean, being a shed everything felt like it was covered in a layer of dust. It was a shame as the menu was nice with lots of varied breakfast options but I wouldn’t go again.

Just been for a birthday lunch with family - messaged them yesterday to order a certain sandwich for my Dad - no response, even tried calling them this morning to no answer. Got there and was unable to do the sandwich so had to have something else - no apology for not responding to message. Had sandwiches and hot drink and took cakes home to eat as my Dad was not feeling well (nothing to do with food etc.). Got home and all 3 cakes were stale. We will not be returning!

My mother, in her late eighties visits the tearooms with her her group of friends and swear blind that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Lovely cakes, wonder pots of tea, nice atmosphere, etc. Thought we'd try it out to see what all the fuss was about. And honestly? It was rather nice. And you certainly don't have to be almost a century old to enjoy it either. Had a very enjoyable half hour in there, lovely cup of coffee and a nice bit of sticky cake. Delicious.

We came here having been given a voucher for afternoon tea by friends. Wow it didn't disappoint it was lovely Husband had a pot of tea and i had a pot of coffee. there were for different sandwiches on offer ( you didn't have a choice) we had cheese and pickle, egg and cress, tuna and mayo, and ham salad and mustard. the bread was really fresh although i don't like mustard hubby doesn't like pickle we just swapped these. A small very nice sausage roll. There were two fruit scones ( again a choice of fruit or plane would be nice as hubby only eats plain scones) freshly baked with jam and clotted cream again these were very nice. Then the cakes :- there was millionaires short bread, carrot cake a delicious cup cake there was also strawberries and blue berries to nibble on. Oh i forgot there brought a small bowl of crisps whilst we waited for the tea to come. All in all a really good value for money afternoon tea and i would happly reccomend this place to anyone.

Once again The Garden Tea Rooms knocks it out of the park! I honestly don’t think a tea room gets much better than this. Went for the chilli and cheese hot dog and cheesy nachos with salad and salsa/guacamole/sour cream. Wonderfully sized portion with 2 plump Lincolnshire sausages, was absolutely delicious and so well priced. Whilst my partner had a mammoth pork and apple stuffing brioche with cheesy potatoes and pigs in blankets. This hidden gem of a place deserves all the recognition it gets, with stiff competition these days with the sheer number of tea rooms, this place always comes out on top in our books!

Very disappointing in the quality of the sandwiches, bread too thick, fillings were dismal, what happened to coronation chicken, prawn mayo, all the classic fillings, our fillings were a dry grated cheese with salami!!?? never had that as a filling before, a tasteless cheese spread,a wet slice of ham & bland egg mayo in a thick wrap,it was more of a builder's lunch ,not what xn afternoon tea should be..light & delicate. The plain scones were dry & tasteless, the cupcakes were tasteless with a sugar overload... gor £15.00 a head, you are ripping us off!!... definitely do not recommend.

The tuna melt panini was delicious, it was also a great portion for the price and so filling. Delivered warm and delicious!! With a side salad and some crisps in the box too. We also had salted caramel cheesecake. I have a major sweet tooth and was not disappointed!! The slice was a slab! Which was fabulous.. again great for the price! The cheesecake was delicious Thank you very much, we will be ordering again. Very satisfied

I was fortunate to attend a belated mother's day afternoon tea treat last Saturday. From being greeted on arrival to leaving the pretty garden, everything was perfect in every way: lots of delicious sandwiches., crisps, scones, cakes, and of course tea, all presented in beautiful fine china. Jack the waiter really looked after us and checked in regularly to replenish tea and water supplies, even making sure that our parasol was protecting us from the lovely sunshine. I had previously enjoyed afternoon tea, sometimes pop in for takeaway cake and have gifted vouchers to people. Recently I had a very disappointing visit when I had cause to quietly complain. I feel that this was completely mishandled in a very rude manner and left me embarrassed and not wishing to visit again. This is a shame as I was looking to book my sister’s 60th afternoon tea party but will no longer be doing this. Manners cost nothing.

We called and booked afternoon tea. The lady said she had to make sure there was enough cakes. That done we arrived but couldn't find it at first. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive, this was because we booked and it was prepared. There was a lot of sandwiches but they all tasted lovely. We also got a bowl of crisps. The cakes although they looked nice with unusual toppings they all tasted the same. Plain sponge with butter icing. I took a few cakes home including my Scone. I was a bit disappointed with the scone. It had 1 current in. Even with the jam and cream it was still dry. That been said I did give them 4 stars because the staff were very good and attentive. If they mix the cake flavors a bit more I would go back. Would I recommend them to friends yes I would.

We enjoyed our first visit to this lovely tea room. It was a nice surprise to have the choice of a triple layer chocolate cake and scones, both suitable for people following a vegan way of life. We sat outside in the bright sunshine surrounded by trimmed box hedging, lavenders, potted tete-a-tete and many other shrubs and trees, listening to the birdsong and soaking up the rays. The fruit scones were delicious with just the right texture, gently warmed and served with dairy free spread and strawberry jam. Our generously sized Americanos were full flavoured and served in lovely purple patterned cups and plain saucers. The staff were friendly, service was good and afterwards we complimented the owner on her homemade vegan scones. This is a tea room we will return to as it is so attractive and vegan friendly.

There was six of us in total and three cake stands filled with sandwiches, cakes and scones with as much tea and coffee as you’d like was more than enough! The sandwiches were soft and fresh and a wide variety of fillings. The cakes were delicious, especially the fruity cupcakes (of which I had more than my fair share)! And the fruit scones were yummy! The staff were very attentive and warm. This is a lovely little tea room, so quaint and somewhere I have always enjoyed visiting, but on my last two visits, I ordered a sandwich on white bread, and BOTH times the bread has been so dry, it was not enjoyable at all. You would think being a tea room, the bread would be fresh and bought in daily. The first time I put it down to bad luck but the second time, the bread was just as dry as before! To me this should have been noticed when it was being buttered as you know when bread is fresh or dry and this definitely was not fresh. My mind is now undecided about whether or not I would go back. If I do, I don't think I will be having a sandwich!

A lovely little tea room & garden. we visited for afternoon tea with a hen party. We payed extra to book the potting shed for private use, lovely decor - I would only suggest they had a CD player or somewhere you could play background music from as that was the only thing missing.

Have been to the Garden Tea Rooms on many occasions in the past for Afternoon Tea. Now Under new management, the staff were very friendly and quick to serve. Good choice of fillings for the sandwiches but the cakes left me slightly disappointed, no cheese cake & the jam tarts to me looked & tasted shop bought !

After reading the rave reviews, we visited the tea rooms for lunch, however we were left rather disappointed. It is now under new management. Service was extremely slow and cafe was quite cold. Once our order was taken we ordered 2 paninis and a club sandwich, we were then told there was only 1 panini available so changed our order. We were then told 20 mins later they had no chicken for the club sandwich so changed that part of the order. When the food came, a toastie arrived instead of the panini, as they had already sold the one they had left. The sandwiches were ok but the side salad had seen better days, a ham salad sandwich came with one slice of ham and only lettuce. We were going to order cake afterwards but choice was limited and this had almost run out also, plus having been in over an hour for 3 sandwiches we gave up the idea.

Tucked away and in a delightful garden. This welcoming little tea room offers homemade, delicious and tempting cakes and treats. Lovely spot to meet friends.

Came here for my Mum's 90th birthday celebrations last Saturday ( see two other reviews of this event) and as everything was so good returned today for my Mum's actual birthday. We had a pot of tea and a (very large!) portion of cake each, and everything was just as good as last weekend. You couldn't ask for a friendlier welcome, a more relaxed atmosphere or better food. Not to be missed

Have visited the tea rooms half a dozen times and each time the food has been excellent. Afternoon tea was especially good with a good choice of cakes and sandwiches and all beautifully fresh. It's not cheap but it's worth the money. It is limited on space so booking is recommended.

Following on from the previous comment from one of the guests, we'd like to also say what an excellent 'afternoon tea party' this proved to be! The secluded location is perfect for those wanting a 'private' gathering for whatever occasion. The non-matching chairs, tables, China cups, saucers, plates & tablecloths make it so quirky. Rebecca, the owner & her assistant Lauren were so friendly & attentive & ensured that we had everything we needed which included that the teapots & jugs of milk were never empty! As mentioned in the previous review, the food was of a high quality, being beautifully presented on 3 tier cakestands & the generous size homemade cakes were absolutely delicious! Thank you Rebecca & Lauren for everything - we will highly recommend the Garden Tea Rooms to everyone & we will definitely be returning soon!

I have visited this establishment several times for lunch, afternoon tea or just coffee and cake. The service is always friendly and welcoming and the food is fabulous (especially the cakes!). If you are thinking of going for afternoon tea I would recommend booking in advance as it's a small place and it gets very busy.

Only ever had hot drinks and scone/teacake/cake here but that could change in the near future! Everything is delightfully presented (even the butter comes in a little dish, not those pre-wrapped rectangles) and portions are, in my experience, large. The teacakes are huge and have plenty of fruit; the cakes are delicious and home-made with a varying selection from day to day. Steaming mugs of latte are again huge. You have a choice of three eating areas, conservatory (where the food preparation goes on), "potting shed" or the garden itself, depending on the weather. Other items on the menu look really appealing (judging from what I saw on other peoples plates) so must try something else but we usually just pop in for a morning coffee. The cafe is to be found behind the florists near the crossroads by the Green.

Just moved to the area and stumbled across this lovely little place for lunch. Had the most tasty cheese and red onion sandwich - the granary bread was so fresh. Hubby had chicken and chorizo panini which he said was a good combination. Sat outside in the cute garden area for our lunch, enjoying the last of the summer sun. The service was efficient and friendly and the table was nice and clean. The cakes looked scrumptious - will have to come back to try them out. Will definitely become a regular here!

Visited The Garden Tea Rooms today with my husband, aunt and uncle who are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary, this visit was a treat for them. What a hidden gem of a place and one I can thoroughly recommend. The staff were lovely, at no point were we rushed and the two ladies could not do enough to make our celebration all the more special. We were in the Potting Shed which was beautifully decorated with a lovely view of the garden. Oh my goodness, what a delight when the cake stands were brought to our table. The sandwiches were freshly made with plenty of filling, the scones were huge and freshly baked. The cakes were delicious also. Everything was beautifully presented. What was not eaten was wrapped in foil and placed in a bag for aunt and uncle to take home to have for their supper. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Thank you Garden Tea Room ladies, this is one outing we will not forget.

Visited with a friend. The food was yummy and very reasonably priced. The setting and decor were gorgeous. Lots of attention to detail has clearly gone into it. The service was quick and friendly. The only thing that let it down was the fact that the owner or manager was in there with some friends and they were all behaving like they were at home. They were spread out across 3 tables and were so loud. It made my friend and I feel very uncomfortable, like we were intruding, and at one point I had to put my finger in one of my ears to try and block the noise so I could hear what my friend was saying to me. For this reason I sadly wont be returning.

I can not recommend this little gem enough!! I booked afternoon tea for myself and 6 of my family for my 50th birthday at quite short notice and I can't fault the customer service I received. Although they were fully booked they offered to stay open for us so we had the place to ourselves we were made to feel so welcome and were not rushed. As the weather was unpredictable they set up a table in the garden and a reserve in the potting shed. The sandwiches and cakes were amazing we also had unlimited supply of tea. When the heavens opened we were swiftly moved into the potting shed? This little gem is excellent value for money Thank you for helping make my 50th birthday special

Booked this as it had so many good reviews and you can see why. Great quality bread and fillings in the sandwiches. Gorgeous scones with oodles of jam, butter and clotted cream. The most delicious cakes I've seen for a long time ( the carrot cake was to die for....the rest are in the fridge yet to be eaten). More than enough for everyone. We had to take most of the cakes home. Super friendly staff. Cute setting. Gorgeous coffee and tea. Can't rate it highly enough. Can't wait to go back.

This is a hidden gem - a beautiful garden and bijou tea room with the most delectable treats. We couldn't resist the high tea which was both delicious and plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. High tea is served with a selection of sandwiches, yummy scones, cake of the day and a choice of cheesecakes. My advice is go hungry, but even if you do, you'll be unlikely to finish all the tasty treats. Don't worry though, staff are happy to box up what you can't manage so you have some take home treats! If you're not hungry enough for the high tea experience, there's a choice of cakes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes - everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. Highly recommended.

First you are made to feel so welcome here, it's quite small and cosy, lovely in warmer weather as lots of outside tables. Excellent choice of pannini's sandwiches, etc but the cakes, wow!, I had a Caramac 3 tier slice it was huge. And tasted home made and delicious. Tea is served in pretty China, I warn you once will not be enough, as it's a different cake every day, not forgetting the cheesecake and cupcake display. Everything reasonably priced. What you waiting for. Enjoy!

I popped in with my dog and we were made very welcome. Lovely atmosphere with local people chatting and included me, made me feel welcome. The staff were very friendly and I had a hot chocolate and I really enjoyed scrambled egg on toast. I was so looking forward to popping in again on my next visit to Sleaford but I was very sad to read a newspaper article saying it has closed for good. So sad after 101 years in the town that this had to close.

Yet another visit to this fantastic pub. The lunchtime baguettes are amazing and great value for money. The only issue I have is with the guy complaining about his steak as the George has not had steak on the menu for quite some time. My advice is to ignore that review and try the pub for yourself, it's brilliant.

As spotless as ever. The prices still haven't risen and a really nice, well cooked breakfast with tea or coffee is still only a fiver! Can't fault the place.

We went for Saturday lunch. When we arrived we was told it was a 30-45 minute wait for food the pub was empty. But a few tables sat outside with kids. We ordered something easy. Ham egg and chip. After waiting the time they said our food arrived. The chips was cold and the egg looked like it had been sat for 10 minutes. They had an inflatable assault course for kids in the garden which is a great attraction for people with kids. But I wouldn’t advise going for a meal !! 🤮
