I popped in with my dog and we were made very welcome. Lovely atmosphere with local people chatting and included me, made me feel welcome. The staff were very friendly and I had a hot chocolate and I really enjoyed scrambled egg on toast. I was so looking forward to popping in again on my next visit to Sleaford but I was very sad to read a newspaper article saying it has closed for good. So sad after 101 years in the town that this had to close.

After visiting today 8/10/22, we were very very disappointed. I used to come to Blanchards very often when my children were young and I did the school run, this was about 10 years ago now. In my and my partners opinion this establishment has gone very much downhill! We both ordered an English breakfast. Where do I start? The beans were hard, the bacon was barely cooked, the toast was cold, the sausage had 3 pieces of grissle in it, the hash brown again was very anaemic looking so didn't even want to eat it and the so called cooked tomatoes again were barely cooked and were rock hard! At the till whilst paying and during us eating, (or not eating), we weren't asked once if everything was OK with our food! So we won't be returning.

We visited Sleaford for a few hours and we always try and support local rather than the big coffee chains. Blanchards was a great find!!! Hot meals, snacks, big choice of drinks and cakes. All reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Not sure if we will return to Sleaford but will definitely return to Blanchards if we do

i we stayed in Sleaford, with room only, in the morning went out to get a coffee etc, saw this cafe open, and popped in and asked if dogs were allowed, which they said was ok, went in and had a nice breakfast sandwich of sausage and mushroom, best tasting Lincolnshire sausages ive had, also they catered for my wife who is vegan and used plant based margarine on her beans & toast, coffee was good as well. cant fault the place, great customer service as well.

If you like afternoon tea Blanchards is a must. The setting inside is perfect for afternoon tea dining with little tables set with lovely large teapots and pretty cups. There is nothing small or skimpy about the food, a three tire serving plait full of sandwiches and cakes all of which are of exemplary quality with little extras like crisps and salad. The staff are welcoming very attentive and the service is quick. I really recommend this wonderful little tea rooms if you live near or visiting Sleaford.

As the title states- I haven’t been here before! Usually we go to the barge and bottle for lunch but we decided to go somewhere different! Just fancied a toasted teacake so that’s what I went for with a gingerbread latte! Both were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere clean and inviting. The items dotted around for sale were good quality and very fairly priced. We also took away some of the vanilla fudge - which was also delicious! We will definitely be returning.

Popped into this corner café off the cuff when passing on foot. Lovely clean interior, I sat at a table next to the window.I ordered the full English with a cup of tea. There was toast included, so I asked if I could have a fried slice of bread instead of the toast, (who doesn't like fried bread with full English?).Anyway, the breakfast duly arrived as requested, but also with a round of toast by mistake. There was no additional charge for the round of toast, even though I had my fried bread as requested; so thank you! The food was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.I would recommend Blanchards for breakfast, and will visit again.

I booked an afternoon tea to have with my parents via Facebook, this was easy and they had no problem in answering any queries I had or changing the time of the booking, with quick replies. When we arrived, they had our table reserved and welcomed us and our dog in, letting her sit under our table. The afternoon tea came quickly despite having many other afternoon tea bookings at the same time. It was delicious! Big pot of tea, enough for a few cups each. They gave us 5 little sandwiches each, filled with egg mayonnaise, cheese & tomato, ham, cucumber & cream cheese, with a side of salad and crisps. A sultana scone with strawberry jam and cream, lovely! On top of that, we had a rocky road, lemon drizzle cake and two small meringues, filled with fresh cream and sliced strawberries. We couldn’t eat it all so they gave us a box to take home! They also sell homegrown veg and honey, which we didn’t try but it looked lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone planning on visiting!

We've visited Blanchard's several times now for afternoon tea, the staff are always friendly and give great service. The quality of the food (and the amount that they give you) is top notch. Afternoon tea costs £10 per person and this includes the staples of sandwiches, scones, and cakes with jam, cream, crisps and salad. Delicious food, very accommodating staff and a nice atmosphere - I'd recommend this cafe to anybody for food or drinks, their cakes are really nice and all the food is freshly made on the premises by the staff. The only criticism I have (a small one) is that there could be clotted cream offered with the scones instead of the cream they serve - however this is a minor niggle and that is the only thing that I can say that is not complimentary about this place. Go and visit it, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely brilliant and we were even given a proper box to take away any left-overs. Was also extremely reasonably priced for the quality, quantity and amazing service we recieved. Visited with my Mum and Nan for lunch. The food was lovely, though the choice was very limited and there wasn't really much that jumped out at me! The coffee was also lovely, and reasonably priced however I would have much preferred to have had a caramel latte as opposed to a plain latte, though very reluctant to pay 85p for a shot of caramel! Not even starbucks charge 85p for syrup and never paid more than 50p in a small coffee shop like this! (If they think 85p is acceptable for 25ml of syrup, they need to change their suppliers!) Additionally, when food was brought out the waitress was very miserable, just somewhat dumped the food down in front of us and dashed off, not even asking if we had everything we needed! I think awkwardly had to grab the attention of another member of staff for condiments! Coming to pay, we wasn't asked if we enjoyed our meal! Staff didn't seem fussed about our experience. I could perhaps understand the inadequate service if the shop was busy, but it wasn't even half full! Such a shame that the rubbish service ruined such amazing food!

I stopped here for a quick pit-stop with a hungry child around lunchtime. It's fairly cosy inside, and slightly old fashioned, in a pleasant way. There are enticing cakes and bakes at the front. I have never seen such hunky chunky rocky road. The menu is typical cafe fodder: Hot n cold sandwiches, things with chips, filled jacket pots. They have a reasonable kids menu. ..egg n chips went down well. Coffee cup was 'hotel-room' size but croissant was plump and fresh. I would definitely pay another visit. Service was not fast but they do take away containers if you are in a rush.

We visited Blanchards for my friend's 21st afternoon tea in early July 2014. The service was excellent and very friendly, the staff having been more than willing to provide a dainty table and chairs outside in the back garden for us to enjoy our afternoon tea on in the sunshine. They even let me have peppermint tea instead of English Breakfast! The 6 triangle sandwiches each were much more rustic and better tasting than those of most other afternoon teas (2 BLT, 2 egg mayo and 2 cream cheese and cucumber) and were, as a pleasant touch, served with a lovely, fresh and undressed salad. The fruit scones were some of the best I have ever tried - the only downside being that they were served with whipped rather than clotted cream, but this was ok it left a lottle more room to sample soem of the delicious cakes of which we had: chocolate, a bakewell slice and a homemade meringue nest filled with fresh cream and strawberries.Thank you Blanchards for a wonderful afternoon tea/birthday treat for myself and my friend - I'm sure we'll all be back for more! You have to book in advance (24 hours) so they can bake teh cakes for you - but the plus side here is that if you don't like a particular type of cake/have allergies or dietary requirements - they can accomodate them!

I dont agree with some of the negative reviews on here but each to their own.I have been working in Sleaford for the last 16 weeks and have tried various places until I stumbled onto Blanchards and have been having lunch for most days (nearly every day) since. I can honestly say it is very good, with excellent service and old world charm (respectful service, good food sourced locally). As its lunch I need my meal quickly which it always is. The homemade ham being particularly good as is the homemade cakes. I even partake in the charity books with some excellent books on offer. The only drawback is the slightly limited choice but then it is a small cafe and I do eat there nearly everyday. I wish they offer more fish e.g. fish pie and the like and I try and not give in to the homemade cake selection. My only regret when I do is my waistline. The other great thing is they are happy to try and accommodate variations to their menu if they can and they do fish on a Friday. They also do fantastic high teas which look fabulous.Excellent choice for good homemade food. I just wish there were more like this in towns and villages instead of the same chains, serving highly processed food with oh so reluctant 'Baristas', degrading queuing systems and inflated prices.Highly recommended.

When the pannini and chips arrived, i could see that they were soaked in fat and over cooked, i think they had been twice cooked, as there was no potato left in the middle, just some very greasy scraps. i ate half of the pannini it was cheese with a raw red onion on i have never had a raw salad onion on a hot cheese pannini before. A wet Tuesday morning, and a Full English and a cup of tea was needed. I thought I would give the oldest and most established coffee shop in Sleaford a try; as it was ranked high on trip advisor. Well I wish I hadn't bothered. The teacup was one of those blue ones usually found in the depths of village halls and brought out for WI meetings. It also was chipped and and had cheese stuck to the rim. I was told that my breakfast will take a while, because I was the first customer, and they had to turn on the fryers - fair enough I thought, as it was quiet, but usually the fryers are the first thing on, and they had been open an hour and a half at this point. They should have left them to heat up a little more as when the breakfast came, the mushrooms had soaked up buckets of it, so the plate was swimming in oil. The bacon was ok and the egg passable (a little overdone), beans were microwaved (sorry pet hate) and the sausage had split and turned inside out, as they do sometimes, but shouldn't be served when they do. The price; over £6, which I thought was a rip off for a breakfast with only one of each item. Needs to seriously up their game, however judging by the comments on this site, people seem content with accepting this level of service. They should come to Lincoln, where they can experience a much much better breakfast at any of the establishments, often for much less cost too.

Plenty of sandwiches, chicken, ham and cheese with a large serving of salad and crisps. The cakes oh well what can I say- large pieces of carrot cake and lemon cheesecake and some other variation on a millionaire short bread. All absolutely fresh and delicious, as were the scones. We had a lovely meal and left feeling thoroughly stuffed and well spoilt. Would definately go again and try meals and obviously more cakes :-)

I visited Blanchards first, over 10 years ago, and wasn't that impressed. However after seeing a groupon, offering afternoon tea for £8, I felt it was time to give it another go, and I'm thrilled we did! We were met by a friendly waitress who was really helpful and smiley. The tea was brought quickly and Brought on a pretty 3 tiered stand. There were 6 triangle sandwich each on the bottom plate, as well as crisps and salad. These were all generously filled and really tasty- filled with home cooked ham, egg mayo and creamed cheese and cucumber, and tasted lovely and fresh. The second plate had 2 large slices of cake each, as well as a bit of donut and biscuits. The cakes were divine- both moist and rich without being heavy, and were defiantly home made. We enjoyed them so much we ordered a whole one to collect at a later date. Sadly we didn't eat the biscuit or donut piece as we were getting full! The final plate were the scones, which too were home baked and came with cream and home made jam. These were buttery and light, and simply delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tea and would defiantly return, and although afternoon tea isn't on the menu, the waitress informed us it is available if booked 24-48 hours in advance. We will return.

I've been in a few times & love the cakes. They are all home-made & look & taste delicious, plus the portions are very generous. The only problem is deciding what to have! Great coffee, too.

Wish we lived in Sleaford! Established in 1922 Blanchards is a charming tea shop. We popped in for a quick cup of coffee and were delighted by the charming and efficient young man serving. Coffee was top notch and the flapjack was the perfect balance of chewy, soft with a hint of crunch. The cakes on offer were clealy homemade and portion size was generous. Sandwiches looked hearty and well made. If I was a local, I'd be a regular.

I have been in here quite a few times, The home made cakes are out of this world. The slices are huge too. My favourites are Mr whippy cheese cake and the white chocolate cheese cake. Very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.

Went into blanchards and had lemon cheesecake, it was delicious, the best cheesecake ever. They also had carrot cake, fruit meringues, a beautiful victoria sponge with fresh strawberries on the top, millionaires shortbread and rocky road! so i will definitely be going there again!. The staff were very friendly, and the whole place had a very nice atmosphere, this is how all coffee shops should be and not like some major eating retailers who seem to be appearing everywhere you look!

Well at first their was a man with a dog in there which i thought was a bit strange and didn't know how to take it. The service was lovely and the food was nice. It was a saturday mornign and the young lady on, she must of been no older then 17 was a little shy and quiet and took a long time making my drink, but she could of been new and I shrugged it off. The dog was weird though, but apart from that i likes it.

....the atmosphere, either inside or in the 'Tea Garden' to delicious home made cakes and freshly made tea (or coffee). Although in the town centre you do not hear the hub-bub of traffic ad town life.....and extremely good value for money (just wait to see the portion of cake they give you). It's been on my doorstep for 7 years......not anymoire shall I pass their frontage without stepping inside for a morning or afternoon break.

Came for our works Christmas party End of November 2024. We hired the barn and had a lovely buffet, food was lovely and service was excellent. The hand carved ham was delicious. Excellent venue, we had lots of fun and there was a singer on the the yard part so we got the best of both worlds Thank you Ryan, Hollie and staff xx

Yet another visit to this fantastic pub. The lunchtime baguettes are amazing and great value for money. The only issue I have is with the guy complaining about his steak as the George has not had steak on the menu for quite some time. My advice is to ignore that review and try the pub for yourself, it's brilliant.

Fabulous little cafe on the A17. What a perfect find - delicious food, all very reasonably priced, and served with a smile. We bought a slice of cake each to enjoy later and these were also very tasty and beautifully light. Cash only - no cards. Plenty of parking outside.
