Visited twice now for Sunday lunch and found it to be most satisfactory,homemade Yorkshire pudding with fresh vegetables at a reasonable price,will definitely visit again.

Had the tomahawk steak and wow was it good! Definitely go there again

We had Sea Bass with King Prawns, with chips and home made Steak pie and chip plus veg. The steak was tender and succulent. Service was excellent. Highly recommend this eatery

Not great food was disappointed it came out luke warm and very small portions for adults, more like a OAP portion. Also asked for two kids portions to come out with one slice of meat then tried to charge us a full adults price, had to question and tried to say they don't do a children's portion even though it was put on the order from the waitress ?! Will add waitress who served us was a credit to business, polite and helpful. I would avoid this place if you are coming as a holiday maker

Old fashioned pub booked a table for 6 last night. Amazing food and very friendly. And very good prices.

I went with a friend for our dinner. I had Scampi chips and salad and an ice cream sundae and with a glass of coke as well it was under £15.00. Amazing food and value as they don't skimp on the portions. The service was very good. I have been here quite a few times now and would recommend it to anyone.

Very pleasant, friendly staff. We had steak and ale pie with the best chips I've had in ages. A very drinkable pint or two of Batemans to wash it all down nicely.

A lovely really old fashioned pub. Great beer, great people, good value food and excellent service. I'm not a real local, but I'm always made to feel welcome whenever I pop in.

Excellent Sunday lunch. We both had the Roast Beef and it was delicious, just melted in the mouth. Two courses for £12.00 very good value. We had seen previous reviews and decided to give it a go, we weren’t disappointed. Well presented too with the veg served separately. Only gave 4* for atmosphere as it was towards the end of service and a little quiet but other than that couldn’t fault everything else about the meal, staff very attentive and friendly.

Had a lovely meal here today. When you see the prices it's possible that you'll think "cheap and cheerful. It's anything but. The prices are very good and the food was excellent. I'll say it again, excellent. The staff were lovely. 28-05-23. Just had a delicious Sunday lunch. Catered very well for my gf wife. Excellent.

From the outside the pub might look olde world but please go in for the food. It's wonderful. The servings are generous and delicious and all cooked fresh. The prices are very good as well. We were on a two night stay and after the first night we didn't look for any where else. We knew we were eating there again the second night. We would definitely recommend this place.

It's not very often you find a pub like this these days Without a doubt one if not the best meal we have had in a very long time. Prices excellent, service excellent, food excellent and the local chat excellent. Back tomorrow for Sunday lunch, and back everytime we are in Woodhall. Stopped for lunch on way to woodhall Spa. What an absolute gem of a place. Fantastic food at nearly half the price we have paid in Coventry plus great cask conditioned ale. The landlord/chef, Mark even took the time to chat with us and recommend places to visit during our holiday.

Booked her for an early mother's day meal with family from Nottingham and us from Skegness, excellent service, beautiful meals, all fed and full to popping. The staff here were really good and we're brilliant with our 4yr old grandson. And our granddaughter loved the little Jack Russel. Will definitely be back in the summer.

Been here quite a lot and enjoyed the food every single time. Good value for money and good quality meals. We absolutely love it. Steak lovely, fish and chips lovely everything is really nice. Brilliant place.

I had to rate the Kings Arms so I could write a review. If you have a dog and want to sit inside and have a meal don’t bother as they don’t allow dogs in. Even though it says on the information on google that dogs are allowed they aren’t. I also couldn’t find anything on the website as to whether they do or don’t allow them in.

2 steaks and a bottle of wine under £30 and it was the BEST steak I've ever had! staff are lovely and I'll definitely be going again

Booked a table for sunday lunch after , just stopping off at this little pub one summer afternoon for a cold drink, and whilst doing so the food smelt lovely, so decided to give them a try, we was very impressed, the sunday lunch was delicious, nicely presented and all fresh home made traditional food. We will most certainly visit again, the pub has a very friendly welcoming atmosphere, even from the lovely little resident doggie..great little pub , highly recommend.

Walking over the bridge and seeing the kings arms from the outside I was a little disappointed with its external appearance. The interior is much better than the outside of the building. Food and drink was ok nothing to complain about and the prices were good too

Lovely home cooked meals helpful staff

The Kings Arms is within a five minute walk from the Kirkstead Bridge Visitor Moorings where I moored my narrowboat on the other side of the bridge. The proprietors were very welcoming and I was joining two friends for dinner. The bar seemed to be very well known and popular with the locals and was neat, clean and friendly. The menu was quite reasonable with plenty of choice. I went for a steak which was excellent with garden peas, salad, onion rings and hand cut fresh chips. Certainly a nice place worth recommending.

Visited whilst on holiday locally, had three good meals, and a couple of drinks each, we all enjoyed the food - not fancy, not pretentious, but decent home cooked food, and great value. Would recommend

Food okay but building is very tired

Excellent Saturday night steak meal deal. Well cooked, friendly staff, good cask ale. Highly recommended. Fish and chip Friday was excellent quality and value for money. Home made lasagne was very good too 👍

A lovely hidden gem! Clean, cosy, great menu and very reasonably priced! The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming, especially Mark, the owner who took the time to chat to us and nothing was too much trouble. All proper home cooked scrummy pub grub! We all left with full bellies - I had the pie and it was quite literally THE best pie I've ever had. Can't wait to return to work our way through the menu. See you again soon!!

We were in the area to visit our son and his family at RAF Coningsby and stopped here on our way on a Thursday lunchtime. We were made welcome, the food was excellent and the prices were very good value ( this Yorkshireman was very impressed). We enjoyed it so much that we returned on both the Saturday and the Sunday and again found everyone very friendly - the staff and the local regulars. All the meals were really good and we look forward to returning next time we visit. Well done to all the King's Arms and keep up the great work. It was like stepping back in time to a proper traditional pub offering great service, food and value. Highly recommended

Went for a roast lunch. Very good value for money. Staff very helpful and polite. Nothing too much trouble. Roast was lovely, we had beef very tender melted in the mouth.

Had Sunday dinner which was very nice, my only criticism is that Yorkshire puddings were only included with the roast beef, I know this is correct etiquette but it would be better if all dinners included a Yorkshire, I'd be prepared to pay a extra 50p or so

A real hidden gem friendly welcome, great service and friendly locals make it a really pleasant place to visit. Home cooked food which you don't find at many pubs nowadays, quality of ingredients superb. Will definitely recommend to anyone and certainly be back now I know it's here. We enjoyed a superb,home-cooked lunch at the Kings Arms today. We were served a very substantial hot, tasty lunch which came with a dish of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. The owners of the establishment were very friendly and made us feel like honoured guests. We will certainly will be visiting again. The lunch was excellent value for money, too. This delightful pub is one of those rare finds - absolutely good, honest food in very friendly, comfortable surroundings. Well worth a visit.

First class beer and service, called in at lunch time we just had sandwiches and chips but it was excellent. Will definitely come back when in the area.

We booked for dinner for 4 adults and 2 toddlers, and were told we could be ‘squeezed in’ at 5:45pm. When we arrived we requested 2 high chairs for our 11 month old and 2 year old daughters, to which we were told they only had one, and one was ‘buried under things’. We politely asked if the second could be collected, to which we were told ‘No. If you would have told us about the ages, we could have organised this for you’. We had booked ‘4 adults and 2 toddlers’...We were seated under a window, where the sun was streaming in (so much so the table opposite had sunglasses on). We asked our waitress if she could close the blinds a little, to which she explained ‘I’ve already asked him, and he said no’. Presumably referring to the friendly man we’d already encountered. We ordered at 6:05pm. My husband then drove back home to collect a high chair for us to use. By 7pm we still didn’t have any food. We asked the waitress who told us it was ‘just coming’. By 7:20pm still no food, apology or update. We asked again, being told ‘5 more minutes’, as we saw the chef wondering around the bar chatting. We spoke to the lady (in charge?) behind the bar, who told us they had had a lot of walk ins. We were one of 3 tables (2nd to arrive) in the restaurant so knew this wasn’t true. The food finally arrived at 7:30pm. The food was adequate. By this time we were ravenous and keen to get the babies home, so almost anything would have sufficed. We were after something quick, easy and wholesome. The food was fine, however the 1.5hr wait for scampi and chips was not. Good, or at least, friendly, customer service may have saved this, however they failed here too. The website claims to offer a ‘friendly and personal experience’; I suggest the website be updated. I certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Sirloin or rump with all the trimmings, peppercorn sauce, home made chips and a bottle of wine, £25.00 for two! An amazing deal and completely delicious (I believe the deal also gives you the choice of chicken or gammon) I would thoroughly recommend The King’s Arms for anyone looking for good quality, home cooked food.

I have lived in Woodhall Spa for eight years and found out today of the existence of the Kings Arms. I drove down with my Mother for a light lunch, we both ordered ham salad sandwiches and a portion of chips to share. The chips, I can honestly say are the best I have ever tasted, chunky, home made, crunchy on the outside and the freshest fluffiest potato in the middle. Our sandwiches were filled with layers of home cooked hand sliced gammon with fresh crispy salad on white bread, this was presented beautifully on a long plate with side salad and a few crisps. I was so impressed, I’ve told everyone that I have met this afternoon what a hidden treasure is to be found in Martin Dales. We are already planning a trip back for their Saturday night steak special. The staff were lovely and attentive, we were welcomed by the most cute little Jack Russell Terrier and the log burner was roaring away. What more could you ask for. Well done The Kings Arms!

The food is Very good close to the mornings on the river the landlord and wife are very helpful woold recommend it to eny one will be visiting next time we are on the river boating 😀

Extremely cheap food but delightful tasty and very well cooked

Really friendly family pub that's worth a visit, myself and my partner had food here and it was really good, I had gammon, egg, chips and peas. It is definitely really a place to visit as it is brilliant for what you pay! My partner had homemade cottage pie which she thoroughly enjoyed but the only fault was the gravy as it was slightly watery but that did not stop her enjoying it!

We went here on Friday there was a bit of a wait for the food but when it came out it was really nice and I think they do the best home made chips I've ever had, the food was a good price every dinner under £7/£8.😊

A short drive out of Woodhall but well worth it as this is a delightful pub. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The food was really good and great value for money. Would recommend this pub to anyone visiting the area.
