This cafe has always served great food, new owners stepped in 4 years ago and the food is even BETTER !, I had the lamb dinner, there`s a bit of a wait, but thats because of the effort being put into the preparation and presentation of their food, so its tottaly worth it...top quality all round... well done guys :))

Been coming here over 20yrs from a little girl I always have dinners amazing choice of many fresh veg I have half roast half chips an omg I don't no weather I'm getting greedy but last week I did not get alot of chips but always have in the passed 🙃 but who cares I will be back and may I add in 20yrs that once is only ever issue it's amazingly clean with a amazing cook who cooks to perfection may I add when I was a child I lived on beeches Estate now I travel from cannock atleast 3 times a week lol ( keep up the amazing food staff and service)

Omg I’ve been a few times eaten different meals , homemade chips are amazing, chicken roast dinner was absolutely Devine , I never left a scrap on the plate , the staff are so friendly and welcoming, Claire I think her name is on front of house couldn’t do enough, such a lovely environment to go to highly recommend Thankyou all

Found the cafe by chance using Google as the hotel I was staying in had no food facilities. I knew when I saw the amount of people seated and the queue, that it was going to be a good choice. 10/10 for the quality of food and the customer service. I cannot fault this cafe in any way and it’s reasonably priced too. It took a while to choice my breakfast as there were so many options. You won’t be disappointed.

Polite and attentive Food good clean surrounds cooked well and too your instructions vegetarian options and vegan options nothing too much trouble for them 👍

Always good food very clean and tables are cleaned straight away after customers have left. Staff you can have a laugh with as well.

Used to use this cafe all the time until covid struck,so finding out it had new owners was a bit of a worry as the food can change,however went last week and ordered a breakfast,it was as good as ever and some of the same staff remain,so glad i returned and will be using from now on Went in again last Friday another breakfast and another delight thankyou

New management food not as good as it used to be

Ordered a lamb dinner, worst roast meal I have ever eaten and experienced! Veg was almost raw and totally tasteless, so nucked with been in the microwave for so long it was impossible to eat it for 5/10 mins. There was more lumps in the mash than there was peas on the plate, and the roast spuds was inedible! Totally horrible from start to finish, and charged 30 pence for a slice of bread, makes it the most expensive loaf in country!

Staff are so warm and friendly. The new menu is very good, caters to all appetites and budgets! The new refurbished dining area is very nicely done. Google says open on Mondays but I think they’re closed.

Orderd the medium breakfast with 2 toast they got my order wrong when i inquired i was told i was wrong, the eggs were swimming in fat , id give it a miss if i were you, if you have to open Sundays your doing something wrong, used to be a great cafe sadly moore.

I had a really great meal on SUNDAY lamb melted in my mouth a proper home cooked meal.Caf was clean &staff friendly. Will go again soon .

Nice little cafe, well spaced out tables, friendly staff, a great range of breakfasts (the large breakfast defeated me) and lunches (the lunches sounded excellent with a wide variety of vegetables on offer with your choice of meat), good prices, small car park outside, the toilet is slightly strange, deep step down (there is a warning of a step by the door), quite narrow and on a slight slope, used by my wife who suggested someone who was disabled would probably struggle with it. Will return.

Helpful, friendly, very clean. Only 4 stars coz I only had a bacon sarnie so can't really comment on the food. First impressions are that it's probably exactly what your mum made back in the day. I'll find out soon enough. Would def recommend.

Sausage egg and bacon on soft white bread. Yeahhhhhhh that's the one rite there. Bit of red sauce and we good to go. Real nice

Such a shame how much this Cafe has changed and not only because of covid finally got back to this cafe this week end of December 21 and although it's been nicely redecorated the meals are not so good the chips tasted stale and the roast potatoes were not cooked correctly and the steak pie if you could call it that only had one piece of meat and that was too tough to eat

The service was brilliant, I went there today and ordered a large breakfast, couldn't finish it though. But the food and hot chocolate was excellent and mostly exquisite

After an exhausting drive back from Dorset yesterday (traffic was deadly), the last thing I wanted to do today was cook.... saved by the lovely staff at the Marlboro , first Sunday opening , so for under £6 I had a lovely home cooked lamb dinner with plenty of freshly cooked seasonal veg roast and boiled ( my preference)potatoes and lashings on gravy. Lovely staff and lovely food.

Great service and good food will be back

We popped in as this is our local and found the service a little rushed and frosty and the food ok, though the sausages could do with an upgrade in quality. On the plus side, the cafe is taking the covid-19 precautions seriously and was very clean.

Since it has been sold by the family that had it for years it has really gone down hill. Cheap sausages, cheap oil, cold food, quality has been compromised. We wont be returning despite living round the corner.

Great food. Friendly service and fully complying with social distancing. At the moment you need to phone your order through prior to collecting. But you won't regret it 😁

Been coming here for 48 years absolutely brilliant. Eat in or takeaway food is top class can honestly say I've never ordered anything I didn't enjoy.Where else are you going to get 5 sandwhiches for under £11 great value from a top cafe

It’s good visit an old haunt. Even after 3-4 years absence the food and welcome was still fantastic. A very busy and clean cafe. Food served quickly and piping hot. The lunch menu of roast dinners is very popular. I really enjoy eating here and it’s great to see a good cafe still thriving. So many have closed down as they can’t compete with trendy coffee shops. If you want a decent breakfast sandwich or lunch, come here. Probably the best cafe in Birmingham.

I've been a customer here for well over 30 years and have never had cause to complain. Generous portions of hot tasty food (unless it's a salad which are also excellent). Food arrives without delay and staff are always friendly. Highly recommended.

This place is a total gem. From the ancient pinball machines to the mismatched crockery it's a 'proper' cafe. I come a few times a year, usually on a Saturday morning with my Son for a breakfast. They are always busy, but the service is brilliant, you just can't ask for the wrong thing. The breakfasts are generous, very tasty and always served piping hot. Every time I come here it makes me feel good that places like the Marlboro are still flourishing.

This cafe has been here and run by the same family for years, the food is excellent, staff are brilliant and for under a fiver you can have a beef dinner, can't wait to go back

Love this cafe, especially the chips, reminds me of just how my nan used to make them back in the 80s. Always good size portions, obviously not a le carte, in my view better, food cooked and served as it should be. Wish I could get there more.

This is the best cafe. Huge meals and loads of choice. The gravy is the best gravy I've ever had. Chips are the best in brum. Homemade and delicious. Give me a fry up here any day every day

Ive been to eat a few of times on my regular trips to England and it was a breakfast served like out of the picturebooks. I definitely will go to eat there again.
