Just started offering brunch, so we tried it out. Well worth a look in.

The best roast beef. Super fresh horseradish . The six of us all agreed 👍

Popped in for Sunday lunch as we were turned away from another pub. What a find! This place is amazing, the quality of the food was superb, fresh vegetables and beautifully tender beef for the Sunday roast (as per the picture, two thick slices of beef, roast potatoes, mash, Yorkshire pudding, carrot, tender-stem broccoli, plenty of gravy and a separate dish of cauliflower cheese, I would say a generous medium sized roast). Dessert was a described as a chocolate ‘delice’ with a blackcurrant sorbet, topped with salted caramel popcorn. That was very nice and quenched my desire for some sweet even though it wasn’t largest portion it was very rich. My mum had the lamb shank and polished it off completely (which is rare for her as she is very picky). The staff were courteous and attentive and deserved their tip. My only slight gripe relating to the atmosphere (hence the lost point) was the live music which although the guitarist was very talented (and chose a good set of recognisable songs for the middle aged cliental), was a little loud on my visit, but I am sure that this isn’t always the case. If you are looking for a relaxed Sunday lunch that is a step up from most pubs then this is definitely worth a go!

Beautifully aesthetically pleasing place with lovely oldie music ! This restaurant is 100/100. I ordered a sirloin steak sandwich and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. It also came with free complimentary bread for our starters which was a lovely touch. I want to visit again !🤍

Myself and Husband visited here last night on an impromptu evening out. Service was very welcoming and friendly from start to finish and the food was absolutely delicious! We went for the sharer Chateaubriand and it was cooked to perfection. Washed down with a lovely bottle of Merlot. It’s been a while where we have been somewhere and enjoyed it this much, we will be back. Highly recommend!

We had a really good meal here on boxing day. We thought the menu was small but really well executed. Service was very good and all in all a perfect choice for our family. We would definitely recommend this venue and we will be back. Saw you did not charge service, so I will drop by with a tip in the coming days. Thanks

Amazing service. Touch of class in Croston Recently visited Out Lane for a Birthday meal and couldn’t have higher praise! Our party of 5 all ordered different starters and mains, each as flavoursome as the next. In particular, I would recommend the salmon starter and pork main. Both are delicious and presented beautifully (not easy with pork!). Staff where attentive throughout making it feel like a true celebration. Overall great value for money too. This restaurant is offering city dining at a village price. Check it out

Treated to a belated birthday lunch today. Chris Newby the chef made all the courses absolutely fabulous. Extremely tasty and beautifully cooked and presented food. The staff were very attentive and welcoming.

Just visited Out Lane Social for the first time and it was a lovely experience. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the food was fresh and well cooked.We left feeling pleasantly full and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

First time here and we weren’t disappointed. Nice decor and ambiance. Attentive and friendly staff (special shout out to Fran, Matty and Denis). Excellent tasty food, well presented. Good selection of aperitifs and wines. Rioja Blanc !

We had a fantastic meal for our wedding anniversary. Top quality food, excellent friendly service and not stuffy. Could have eaten anything on the menu. Opted for fish. Both courses were excellent and the mussels were genuinely the best I have ever had. Expected it to be expensive but found it very reasonable for the quality of food we had. Couldn't manage dessert but the ones I saw others eating looked good. We are going back next week to celebrate 2 family birthdays.

Had a fantastic meal at The Out Lane Social. The pork chop was perfectly cooked, and the Caesar salad complemented it well. The staff was incredibly responsive, professional, and welcoming. A delightful dining experience overall.

Dropped in to Out Lane Social last minute after being thoroughly disappointed by another restaurant and their cold, mediocre Sunday roast which was inedible. The staff here were so accommodating, finding us a table and making us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was great and the food even more so. The warm treacle bread whilst we waited for our mains was a lovely touch. Sunday roast was amazing and the beef tartare equally so. Can't wait to come and visit again.

Really enjoyed it here. Food was fabulous, we had the Sunday roast dinners, pork and beef, and the dessert was out of this world. Atmosphere was great.

Probably one of the best restaurants we have tried recently. Fantastic food and wine a great atmosphere. The new menu is great. Can’t wait to go back for more.

I’ve been here a few times. The first to try the new pizza van on the front and what can I say other than magnificent! I couldn’t get enough of the pepperoni pizza with garlic drizzle 🥰 We returned with our tribe yesterday for a Sunday roast beef meal, everyone agreed that it was delicious, the beef was a prime cut and thick too. There was no shortage on the portion that’s for sure❤️

Stopped here for lunch and wow!! Delicious food and excellent host. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely be returning! Thank you x

My wife and I have just hast the finest experience in this wonderful establishment. From the moment of walking in, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes, by the manager Kerrian. The atmosphere was so warm and relaxed. Straight to the meal. My oysters were so fresh. My wife had sole, and the presentation was phenomenal. The attention to detail.on the starter was complete with the flavour if the dish. As for the roast beef and pork, we both agreed, we have never tasted such succulent cuts of meat..ever. the front of house team worked with such a kind, relaxed attitude. In conclusion, we cannot recommend this absolute diamond of a restaurant. Thankyou so much for the perfect experience. We will definitely be returning. Karl and Paula. x

Recently visited for my wife's birthday and the place didn't disappoint. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and the staff were exceptional in every way. I'm so glad we've found a new place to eat and enjoy delicious food. Some people may feel that the menu is pricey, but don't let that put you off, as the quality is fantastic, and it's worth every penny to experience the wonderful dishes. The flavours, quality of food and presentation wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant.

Food was OK, service was not great. Took a long time to exit the restaurant waiting to pay. Had to ask staff for the bill several times.

Real quality food, specialising in steaks and some seafood. My partner loves their excellent steaks and Sunday roast, I'm a vegetarian and the handful of veggie options are delicious. Quality craft keg beer is served as well as a considerable wine list. The staff are always friendly, helpful and accommodating. A perfect addition to the village.

Had lunch here. Very tastefully done decor. The food was excellent as was the service. It is not cheap but no more than you would expect from somewhere of this quality. Only two parking places in front however.

Just enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch — a real treat. We had three courses, craft beers and champagne and all were excellent. Fantastic service, the best roast I’ve ever had, and a super relaxing atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. Lucky 🍀 to have this on our doorstep for sure. A great addition to the village and no doubt an attraction for miles around. Congratulations on a brilliant concept well executed!

The food at Out Lane Social was of a good standard, but our visit was a letdown by the length of time waiting between the mains and desserts. Also, any veg, chips etc are extra costs and not included in the overall meal price.

What a shambles !!!! Are table was booked for 7.00 PM, I admit we arrived 20 minutes early, we were told our table wasn’t ready which was also fine, we then sat at a table by the bar for 40minutes during which at no time were we asked if we would like a drink whilst we waited for our table. When we did eventually get seated we then waited 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken ( which was the only one we were offered or had all evening) The food whilst palatable it was expensive £26 for a ribeye steak without a sign of a chip or mushroom all of which were priced at £4 per meagre portion. We had been really looking forward to trying this venue out, we won’t be going back, the service was very poor, when we complained we were told they had staffing problems. We were offered very little by apology & no financial easement was offered at any time during our complaint. We won’t be going again or recommending Out Lane to any of our friends Jim & Di

Exceptional meal, service and atmosphere at Out Lane Social on Saturday evening with friends. Both starters of crab and mackerel were lovely and presented beautifully and the steaks for main and the lemon sole was cooked just right. Appreciate the time and care that goes into every dish. Compliments to the manager, chefs and front of house team.

Croston have got a fantastic new restaurant, Outlane Social. Greg, through major renovation and building a new team, has created a first class restaurant with stylish decor and warm atmosphere which most certainly will attract the local community and passing visitors. We had a table for 4 for late lunch(16.00) yesterday and were more than pleasantly surprised with the terrific quality of food (great chef), the service from a young local team(well trained, friendly and attentive) and the overall ambience in the restaurant. For what we had the menu and price was of great value. We have made a further reservation for an evening meal next week and now certainly looking forward to it. Well done and thanks to Greg and team, you all deserve the support of the village. Dave and Pam

We had a wonderful evening last Sunday, entertainment was a nice touch and made the evening fun. Service and food excellent all round great atmosphere friendly and attentive staff and food delicious.

Amazing quality, the food is fabulous. The steaks are from local butcher Farrell and the fish is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and slick. Well done in your first week. We will return.

Called in for a drink with friends yesterday, lovely atmosphere and great service. Food looked delicious and some nice additions to the menu on the specials board. Looking forward to eating there again soon.

We went for the first time last evening and will be back! The staff were friendly and professional, the decor and atmosphere are fabulous and the food … well it was amazing quality and value!!

Great addition to Croston food scene Loved the decor and lighting , temperature just right. Lovely enthusiastic young staff. Myself and my wife both chose roast beef dinner and sticky toffee pudding for dessert , both wonderful . Very nice reasonably priced bottle of Malbec . Can’t wait for our next visit . Highly recommended .

A friend & I booked Tuesday for Wednesday lunchtime. Everything about this new restaurant was great.. warm spacious and very reasonable lunchtime menus.I had 3 courses while my friend had two… I could never turn down a chance to try lemon posset although I hadn’t managed to quite finish my fish pie… just the good size portions ..nothing else..having had crab starter on toast which was full of flavour also. My friend enjoyed her flat iron steak & chips followed by ice cream. All in all a very enjoyable couple of hours spent in lovely surroundings .. will certainly be coming back for an evening meal with friends asap. Lovely to have a much needed good restaurant within a few miles of Ormskirk without travelling to Southport. Well done!

Just had an amazing lunch - food and service some of the best I’ve had. 2 courses fixed price menu, which was outstanding value. All options we had (crab and beef Yorkshire pud starters, followed by monkfish and burger mains) were exceptional. The quality of the produce, the cooking and the service were first class. We will be returning very shortly to try out the full dinner menu (oysters, steak) and the Sunday dinner with joints from Butcher Farrells which is always top drawer. This is best addition to the local restaurant scene for a very long time.
