Lovely pub with great selection of drinks including 3 cask ales. Food was outstanding. Nice setting with excellent staff.

Good food parking can be an issue when busy I had to park on a side street. No big deal though......the waitress who served us initially didn't know what type of lagers they had so we had to check ourselves.... Other than that no issues

Absolutely amazing menu and tip quality food. The options on the specials board are very creative. I have been here a few times over the past couple of weeks. The Sunday Roast is fabulous , and my son had the burger made with real minced steak which was phenomenal . Very reasonably priced , and some great beers on ... Fabulous staff and a great atmosphere.

11/10 can never fault this place. The lovely waitresses are always on hand, with a smile, it's nice to see a pub that fills the place with hardworking staff even when they aren't necessarily busy.. it really makes a difference. We've become weekday regulars for a sneaky lunch and a prosecco in a nice quiet corner. Me and my friend always get a selection of starters to share as they're all so good. Great selection at different prices. All equally as good.

Best burger I've had in a long time!!!!!

Another great visit to the dog and partridge. Great mushroom starter, which I followed with a pork dinner while my partner had the beef. Couldn't find room for a pud so perhaps next time we'll skip the starter to try one. Last time I think we shared a cheesecake.

Absolute gem of a pub, food was out of this world best thing I have eaten in a long time, service quick and pleasant, atmosphere when having a meal is what you make it but the staff extremely polite and friendly lovely cosy meal.

We prebooked as it was Sunday and a rainy busy weekend as the scarecrow festival was on. We arrived 40 minutes early but it was met with no problem and the manageress seated us straight away and there was my name and a reserved sign already on our table. We sat in the side where dogs are not allowed ( through our own choice) but the pub is dog friendly if you wanted to sit in or out you just need to request on booking. Great menu and a specials board. ( wish they served cheese pie is all I have to say negative) . Service was attentive and food was great and hot and I don’t even think we waited long for it even tho it was busy. If you have a big car like a Land Rover you might struggle in parking spaces but there’s loads of in street parking. There were vegetarian options but I didn’t look for vegan or GF .

We have been to the Dog and Partridge many times. Indeed it used to be our favourite place to eat. Unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated. I used to always have the steak pie! Never again. The pastry was very “powdery”. The chips tasted as if they had been cooked this morning and then reheated, the peas tasted very water, as if they had been topped up with water. Very disappointed that the quality of the food has deteriorated.

I decided to go to the dog and partridge after reading some of the other reviews.I ordered the cumberland sausage with mashed potato, which very tasty and the meal was hot when it arrived. I would definitely recommend the dog and partridge and will be visiting again.

I had the pleasure of going on Saturday to this lovely pub. I haven’t been before but definitely will return. I have to start by saying the staff are absolutely amazing. Always smiling and happy. Couldn’t do enough for you. The service was first class. The food was delicious. We all had steak cooked differently but it was perfect for all. The accompanying dishes served with it were delicious too especially the onion rings. Can’t fault anything so compliments to the chef. Thank you for making it such a lovely evening.

My wife & i have called few times for drinks. We liked the pub and its atmosphere. So we tried a meal was not disopointed. Good food good service cant fault it.

Great food, warm welcome :) Very relaxed atmosphere, home from home. We have never been disappointed by anything on the menue and we've had many of the items. Good job we don't live next door, would highly recommend this place as its a gem. We went here last night 23.10.22, it's still as good as ever! 26.01.23 Just been for a meal and it was wonderful, still one of my favourite restaurants for sure! 12.11.23 Been for lunch today, so good, brilliant as ever. 🥰 25.02.24 Still an amazing place! We love it here. 31.07.24 Called today with my son for a late/early afternoon bite to ear. So accommodating despite being very busy with a funeral. We really appreciated your warmth and flexibility when we called in. This place is outstanding and the owners (sorry I can't recall your names) are very hard (impossible) to beat when it comes to hospitality and the production of good food. Thank you again for a delicious and chilled meal. Very much appreciated 😊

What a gem of a find this was Not your average pub grub Food was better than I have eaten in some of the high priced fancy restaurants in Manchester. Service was perfect Food was amazing And prices were very very reasonable Well done guys Hope to be back soon

Just had a lovely meal here with the family, when I booked I thought it was just going to be pub grub, turns out the food was worthy of a high end restaurant, absolutely fantastic food and service, a quick question, Is the chef married? 🤣🤣 will definitely be back to try more off the menu, thank you guys.

Decent pub food with a large variety of deserts. Got a roast dinner of the Sunday specials which was very nice, other members of my group enjoyed food off the main menu. Lots of selection for vegetarians and vegans but not much in the way of cheap healthier meals if you don't want a salad or to pay a fortune but want to follow a diet. Lots of variety in deserts and very tasty. The restaurant is slightly expensive but overall good. The staff were helpful and food arrived relatively staff. The restaurant also contains an outdoor space of lots of booths for warmer days. Certainly a good pub for food and probably will return.

Lovely find, menu was so hard to choose from, waitress suggested the streak loaded fries and they were fantastic, was very busy but served very quickly and we both cleared our plates, would love to have this as my local

Wedding buffet for daughter, excellent

I am only giving 1 star as I can't give any less. Went for lunch for my daughters birthday, my daughter ordered the chicken and chorizo risotto, it in our opinion tasted awful sweet and very unpleasant. The waiter came over to ask if the food was OK, and I mentioned that the risotto wasn't to my daughters taste, he was pleasant and said to choose something else off the menu , which was very reasonable. Then no sooner had he left the waitress who I have not seen before came over and said we would be charged in full for the risotto, not what the waiter had said and I said this was my daughters birthday and this was ruining it and to take this approach was short sighted. She was rude, brusque and didn't know how to conduct herself. in the end she said no charge for the risotto and my daughter could choose something else, she choose a ham sandwich, this was not what she really wanted but my food was getting cold. In seconds the ham sandwich arrived, the ham was terrible quality full of fat and grisle, like she had been given the off cuts that should have been thrown away! We have been many times before and always enjoyed the food and service. But this visit was terrible and has put us off visiting again.

We were part of a wedding buffet, the food was excellent hot, and lots of variety, the staff were very attentive, i would highly recommend The Dog & Partridge

Went for lunch and was very pleased with what we had , service was excellent.

This is a really lovely eating establishment. We had the fish cake with poached egg to start ‘delicious’ followed by the hanging kebab & the Chicken Pie, couldn’t fault it. Service is impeccable, will certainly return and recommend!!

Absolutely amazing food! The fish and chips are huge, great homemade chips to go with it. The chicken tenders are delicious, but the coleslaw that came with them is the best I've ever tasted! I could have just eaten a bowl of that, and I would have been happy 😊 the hot beef sandwiches looked amazing too, I will try one of those next time. The atmosphere was lovely and great for family meals, nice and calm atmosphere. The service was great, very friendly and welcoming. They also have outdoor seating area suitable to take dogs in with nice booths and outdoor heaters. Definitely recommend 👌

Been tonight for our anniversary. The food was hot hot hot. Really nicely presented and tasted great. First time here tonight and we definitely come back and recommend. I had the breakfast loaded fries off the special its was amazing, my husband had the lamb Henry and said he could cut the lamb with his fork it was that tender. My girls had chicken tenders and Cumberland sausage and they loved it. 10/10 for the food, service and atmosphere very friendly and welcoming

Great service, good food and plenty of outside seating.

Been numerous times and the food and service is always outstanding. Today my daughter (2yr old) accidentally knocked her plate of food off her tray and they replaced it without me even asking. They are all so welcoming and friendly. The bbq ribs and dirty dog are two of our fave mains but there are many others to choose. The dirty fries are also out of this world! So happy we live so close to this wonderful pub. Thank you again and see you soon xx

We had a wake for my mum here and it was lovely, the staff were great. We had a buffet which everyone enjoyed. We felt we were well looked after and would definately recommend them.

Brilliant great pub fab food excellent service

This is fast becoming our favourite place to eat. Not exactly our local - we travel about 20 mins to get there but it's so worth it. We have eaten there on several occasions, always at lunchtime. The food is always top quality and delicious. Staff friendly and welcoming and meals are reasonably priced. Favourites are bouillabaisse (fish stew) and the chicken and red salt loaded fries. The hot beef sandwich is not to be missed either! The pub itself is beautifully furnished, makes the experience complete. We will see you again soon!

Excellent every time we go ! Despite the cost of living going up this place keeps its prices low. You pay a lot more at other places for lower quality. Always a treat to eat here and never disappoints. Many places have hiked their prices and sacrificed quality. Not here, same prices and excellent food

Gorgeous food but always the same menu it never changes we stopped going for dinner as they kept putting the prices up nice selection of beers and snacks

Booked a table for 7 and literally couldn't fault it at all. Food was incredible and all 7 of us polished everything off! The portions are big and it's all delicious. Definitely recommend.

Last minute evening decision to go and definitely a good one. Although most tables were reserved the staff were quick to allocate a table for the two if us when we arrived. Service was quick and efficient with drinks and food. It took us longer to eat than it did to wait.... piping hot and tasty 😋. There was no pressure to go and the atmosphere allowed us to relax after a long day past. Highly recommend the D and P for food and a relaxing night.

I, along with my wife and her parents visited the Dog & Partridge at the weekend. It was our first visit (it is not exactly our local) but it was well worth the journey. The food and service were both excellent (I didnt catch any names of the waiting staff but they were all exceptional). We all ordered different meals and desserts and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked for Mother's Day !!

We nipped in on a busy Friday teatime straight from work without booking. The team were really welcoming, happy to find us a table and the menu is fab! Thoroughly enjoyed both of our meals, great portion size, lovely wine 😁 and the price was very reasonable. 5***** HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great service, great food, great atmosphere!

We live in the next village and our go to is the Dog and Partridge. Not only is the food and service incredible but they will always book us in last minute. Drinks in the outdoor area during the summer months are far too tempting. Keep up the fabulous job every single one of you do and good luck for 2024

Omg the ribs here are amazing. We have tried the fish stew, Sunday roast, hanging kebabs, ploughmans and have enjoyed all of them. The portion sizes are really good but we always end up with a take home box as too full x thank you

We were in the area and dropped in on the off chance of a free table. A busy and popular pub but loads of effort by staff to find us a table with wheelchair access. We had attentive service and the food was lovely. We all ordered steaks and they were cooked with care and consideration. We enjoyed a lovely meal in a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return to try out other options on the menu. All the food at surrounding tables looked amazing too! Highly recommend

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was great, good service and atmosphere.

We had the burger and chicken skewer with fries and special chips. Perfectly cooked and tasted great. Excellent service. Great staff and owner. Chatted to owner and couple of the bar team. Visited on a Saturday night end of August, meant to leave this review then. Going back to eat again so it reminded me I hadn't.

Food is exceptional, great service, you have to wait a bit as food is cooked to order. Great venue, eat indoor and out.

Just celebrated my Mums 85th birthday at this fantastic pub. There were 13 of us ranging from 10 days old to 85 years. The service from the girls was absolutely wonderful. The choice on the menu was excellent, and the food was superb. You made our lunch very special for a very special lady. Thank you.

We have travelled from Cumbria and advised to go here . It was that good we returned a second time when travelling. The food and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Called in on a Tuesday lunchtime. First time at this restaurant and found it very busy. Friendly staff. Drinks arrived at table quickly and likewise the food considering how busy the place was - there was a private 'do' in another room. Excellent food, with good sized portions. Judging by the food on other tables, it would appear this is the norm. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will visit again and highly recommend it.

Last minute plans, got us a table for 4 straight away on a busy Friday evening. Food was perfect all 4 of us had different mains. Large portions and great value for money. Definitely a new favourite. Perhaps wish dogs could go inside. (Only allowed outside) Understand not all dogs are as well behaved as ours though! We will be back soon!!!

Excellent food served hot and quickly, good water service no long waiting for drinks or food, good varied men7 and reasonably priced wines. Would definetley recommend and will be returning soon.
