Out and about in Chorley with Flatima and Casta. This pub is number 22 on the Chorley Ale trail. Selection of 4 real ales. Had a pint of Dark Star Hophead golden ale at 3.8%. Very good. Newish Landlord is very friendly and working hard rennovating the pub. Has a dart board, pool table and TV's. Sell butties for £1.50. Good rear beer patio. Casta is a huge Doors fan so got his Jim Morrison photo. Tima just likes her beer.<

Had a few pints afterwork for a colleagues leaving do. Friendly staff however when the venue charge more for a lemonade than an alcoholic pint.... nearly 4 quid for a pint of lemonade! Absolutely disgusting. I won't return out of principle, doesn't do anything to discourage drink driving.

Went in to watch the football. Landlord was so friendly and helpful, even let us bring in a pizza. Found the other customers friendly too

It's an ok centre of town pub. A bit old fashioned but kind of quirky. Has beer garden with some lovely wall art

Stop over on route to Wigan v Rotherham United game. Very welcoming pub and excellent friendly staff , bar prices also very good, example double vodka and orange £5, Pub also put on free sausage sarnies, nice touch but there was 2 coaches full of us spending a lot over the bar.

A favourite pub in the evening. But I am not sure why last orders is so early at a weekend though? The Google opening hours are wrong. Last orders were at 10:30 on Saturday.

Visited on a wet April afternoon and had a warm welcome. Though the restaurant was a little cool - suspect that’s down to the current heating costs so don’t blame them for that. Menu was good and varied, good tap beer choices only 1 non alcoholic. My husbands food choices were tastier than mine - pork pie with lovely piccalilli and duck from the specials. I had pate which was lovely, the sourdough bread was just nice toast, to follow I had chicken with pancetta. The chicken was moist, the pancetta cremated. I complained, no one did anything other than say sorry. Pudding were the best course, sticky toffee for him and chocolate torte for me yum. Coffee was also nice. Staff were polite and attentive. Reasonable bill. Probably won’t travel an hour to go again but if it was more local I’d likely return.

First time there since the easing of restrictions, what a great warm genuine welcome! It felt safe, well organised and friendly. The beer garden has loads of well spaced out seats, there are parasols if it's too sunny! and blankets if it's too cold and the Guinness is great too. This place needs your support!!👍👍

Went for lunch with a group of friends. We chose off the Golden Age menue. Two courses and hot drink for £5. I had Hammond served with chips, egg and peas and Apple pie with custard and cup of coffee. The service was good and there was plenty to chose from on menue. Will certainly be going again.

Great beer, great food, great staff especially the landlord as he gave me a shot on my birthday. Just a good all round welcoming pub. I always go there as I'm passing in Chorley now.

Was in the area for Bolton v AFC Wimbledon and a friend from Preston told me that it was best to drink in Chorley before the game rather than head to the stadium. Arrived at noon, and made my way to the main street to work my way back to the train station. First pub (furthest way) I started in was the White Bull, which is nice pub with good staff and a rather good real ale selection on tap. Probably not the best pub I visited in Chorley, but a really nice traditional style pub where you can get a good beer which I enjoyed visiting. If/when back in area again I will almost certainly head back here first for a few beers.

This pub is a great little place. Best pub in Chorley in my personal opinion. Everyone from the staff to the regulars are friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere, great food and large selection of drinks. The beer garden is lovely and a real sun trap on warm days. Can’t fault to place at all. There is often great entertainment on a Saturday night too!

Went to the White Bull with a group, there were three of us who were sitting on our table, two had soup and one had stuffed mushrooms all three of us enjoyed our starter. For mains I had chilli with rice, my husband had it with chips, I often order chilli when I am out this was the nicest. Our other companion had fish goujons, butalthough she enjoyed it the portion was generous and she could not eat it all. Overall a really nice experience, tasty food and good, friendly service

On a little tour of Chorley myself and the missus happened on a little local called the White Bull, the barman Kieran greeted us with a warm smile and fast service, great pub, tidy, clean and great range of drinks, chatted to Adam the landlord, what a font of local knowledge! the White Bull's now on me must visit again list. ;)

Too many televisions and a jukebox competing with noise. Not a place for a relaxing drink (but the beers and the staff are good)

Best pub in Chorley town centre. Great choice of beers on the bar, fantastic food and a great friendly atmosphere.

Four of us went to Chorley to the market then went to the pub for our lunch. We had the pentioners special at £5.00 each and were pleasantly surprise with the standard of food . We had a choice of home made steak pie, gammon and egg, scampi or beer battered fish and chips. Two had gammon and two had the pie and we really enjoyed the food. We had apple pie or egg custard for dessert followed by tea. The value for money was great, and the manger who served us was very welcoming, friendly and patient with us as we tried to make our choice of food.! We did have an alcoholic drink before our food which were reasonably priced. All in all a good day out and we will definately be calling again on market day, and Might even go for Sunday lunch.

I have visited Chorley a few times and this is one of the best pubs by far. The staff and locals are so friendly and make you feel so welcome. The service is fantastic and the prices are great. I love the fact they do live music and live football on big screen. Brilliant and well worth a visit

We came in for food and was surprised with the price and quality of the food. Great service from the fella behind the bar who recommended gins and food. Will be visiting again Midweek for the 2 for £12 deal and maybe on a Sunday for the roast

Cams in on grill night and enjoyed the fabulous 2 steaks and a bottle of wine deal. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the atmosphere was just right. Had the fee of a cosey country pub, but was slap bang in the town centre, something hard to achieve as far as I’m concerned. Will be returning, and I urge anybody in the vicinity to do the same!

This is a lovely pub to go to, I have always gone for a few drinks in the evening but the new landlord, who is always very friendly and a really nice man to chat to, has introduced a new menu and the food is absolutely lovely! It’s the first time I have had a meal there and we will definitely go back again, the food was fresh, very tasty and just what you want for homemade pub food and the price is fab! The chef served our food and was very friendly, checking if everything was ok and if we needed anything more. Very clean, cosy pub with a lovely atmosphere and good music and lovely bar and kitchen staff. Looking forward to trying out the Sunday roast with our children!

If your looking to visit a local, friendly extremely welcoming pub then this is the place to go wether it be for just a few drinks with your mates or to have something to eat you won’t be disappointed. I have visited the white bull on a few occasions now and eaten everytime as the food is delicious, Adam the manager and all of his staff especially Lydia, Ash and Kieran couldn’t do anymore to make you feel welcome in this very homely n cosy establishment and I’m looking forward to my next visit very soon.
