I agree with Winters End review 100%. The pub, under Josh's capable management, is now warm , clean and inviting. The Christmas menu was cooked to perfection and extremely generous portions with 7 veg and all the trimmings.. I would highly recommend a visit.

Wishing to thank the Bell Inn Team for making our evening out with friends a truly lovely experience. We are regulars anyway and are delighted with the changes the new management is unfolding. We had chosen from the Christmas Menu, early for us, but the date fitted! Food excellent, service excellent. After generous plates of meat and potatoes, stuffing etc arrived at our table, a wide choice of vegetables, enough to make our eyes pop arrived too. Forgot to mention the delicious starter, personally I can highly recommend the spicy prawns! I had opted out of dessert but the rest of our party had chosen well, hubby had the cheese board. Delicious. Keep up the good work Josh and team, you’ve turned our local into a place we really enjoy coming to.

Visited the bell for the steak night. Fabulous service. No long waiting times for food. Good choice of food available other than steak. We both ordered fillet steaks, this was cooked to perfection. Good quality food and service. Thanks to all the team at the Bell Inn.

Lovely lady behind the bar, lovely feel to the pub but unfortunately it ends there. We waited over an hour for the fattiest and poor quality steaks we have ever had, the chef (the landlord) didn’t bother to come out to discuss the terrible cuts of meat which I literally couldn’t cut with a steak knife due to the never ending fat. We were given a 20% discount but we will not be returning, we literally piled high the fatty meat and had. Nothing left that was edible - such a shame 😞

Having been to this establishment a number of times, which used to have amazing staff, todays visit was an eye opener. The food was, as always amazing, although the broccoli didn’t go near a steamer or a pan of boiling water. I went back to the carvery for one potato and a Yorkshire pudding and was told “it’s not a bottomless carvery “ with a death stare directly at me. Another diner asked if she could have another Yorkshire pudding and she was told “no, not really” yet, he was eating food with his fingers and wiping his fingers on his apron afterwards, no hand washing in between!! If the dishes of food were topped up properly, I wouldn’t have felt the need to visit the carvery station again. Being a new landlord, you seriously need customer skills training. I expect Marlborough threw a huge party when you left. Very rude and arrogant. I won’t be spending my next £70.00 for a family meal and drinks with you.

Waited 40 minutes for food. It wasn't terrible but had asked for lots of vinegar and there wasn't a drop (nothing) so was all a bit dry.

Nice pub with good food, a pool table, darts board and a decent outside area. Some parking in site but plenty surrounding.

We found blackwells by accident climbing those steps up from the high street at the start of our week long holiday in the area. Very tasty pastry and fillings. We sampled others in neighbouring towns but none matched yours. Years later transiting back from Newquay on the slow road to detour to you establishment. Cannot recommend you enough to future clientele it will be worth every single bite.

The pub has got a great location right on the waters edge, we have a lovely table seat upstairs which had great views over the estuary. The food was well presented and was superb, I highly recommend a visit.

Average. Busy place, probably the busiest in Bideford. Food plentiful but too seasoned (salt) and won't be going again.
