Go in hungry, come out very full. Today's menu included home made steak n ale pie. The pie nearly fills the plate, my guests and I were taken aback at this magnificent 'special', served with seasonal veg and gravy. Grants is probably the most consistently good restaurant in town. Try it...

First time at this excellent and very friendly chippie - won't be the last! One of the owners' relatives has coeliac disease so they really understand the need for careful management of gluten-free food. The GF batter on the fish was amazing, thin and crispy and not greasy at all. The portions were generous, the fish seemed perfectly fresh, and the price was very reasonable. I don't know what more you could ask from a neighbourhood chippie.

Really weak service, no host, had to find a random waiter to say we had arrived for our booking. Waited ages to order drinks and even longer to get them, had to go to the bar for a follow up. Service is what youād expect from untrained inexperienced youngsters. I donāt blame the kids, itās not their fault, probably cheaper for the establishment. Food reads lovely on the menu but there's no effort at all gone into it. Between us we had around 9/10 different dishes, the cauliflower and the meatballs were ok but we left a lot of everything else and the dynamite prawns were just woeful, certainly hadnāt seen any 'fiery lobster aioli' or' fresh chilli' and they definitely werenāt 'poached' unless you count the time they were boiled in Thailand before being frozen. The venue is a nice bar and very average bistro, certainly not a restaurant.

This has to be one the best dining on the Wirral and easily competes with Liverpool. It's Narnia, tucked away to round the back and what opens up is something enthralling, exquisite and sublime. Thought and detail to decor, crockery, ambience, ingredients, food served and your comfort is highly sophisticated, whilst relaxing and not daunting. Absolutely beautiful dining from a wonderful team.
