Kenny's Chippie in Lancaster

Our usual chippy had stopped doing gluten free so it was time to find a new chippy. Couldn’t of found a better one, friendly staff and great food at reasonable price, should have started using here long ago, did I say good Gluten Free options.

I have had better fish & chips from Kenny's Chippy.

Really good traditional fish and chips. Lovely golden crispy batter and nice fresh fish.

Brilliant local chippy. Reasonably priced compared to other chippies in the area. Excellent food, they still use beef dripping giving it an amazing taste. Consistent quality, never had a bad meal from them. Staff are always friendly!

Tried this chippy for the first time tonight as it provides a gluten free option. I can honestly say it's the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Really tasty fish and no greasy aftertaste. Would thoroughly recommend

Just been with my family and it was the best gluten free fish and chips I've had in ages! Lovely staff heads up they don't do gluten free on a Friday and is only take away but definitely worth a visit also the rest of my family really enjoyed the regular ones too 😁 xxx

Amazing place to eat. I'm Gluten free and we called a head and it was ready for us when we got there. My husband and step son had normal fish and chips. My step son was a little tired but they were so lovely with him and asked him all the questions about his meal. But best Gluten free I've had in ages!! They don't do Fridays but do make sure other days you call

Arrived at Kenny's about 10 mins before they closed at 1.30pm and wanted gluten free fish and chips half expecting them to say sorry that it was too late as it was near to closing BUT NO they were brilliant and did me a fresh piece of battered haddock and chips and a regular fish and chips to takeaway. wow they were possibly the best gluten free fish and chips i have ever had!!! :)

Although this place has no dining inside the main reason that we came to visit this lovely little chippy was from the other great reviews I found on Google when looking around for such a place to call on whilst we were in Morecombe on our day out with the weather being a nice sunny day! I can only review on what we purchased on (Tuesday the 18th April 2023) and I had a large chips and gravy with 1 buttered roll and a can of Fanta, my full time carer had large chips and curry sauce and yes you do receive a large container with loose top wrapped up in paper with a free plastic fork which is much better than those wooden variety that you can choose if you prefer those. The chips had a lot of gravy and I found the taste to be much better than other chipshops I have visited, the chips were very hot and tasty, and the thing I noticed mainly was that I had more proper sized chips than getting a lot of smaller hard chips that I tend to throw away, this was a very pleasant surprise and so was the price and with this in mind i would highly recommend this chippy if you happen to be in the Morecambe area and want something hot and tasty from their menu. I must also mention that this chipshop does infact have a ramp that is ideal if you like me are disabled and use a wheelchair of some sort, I didn't enter on this occasion, I waited inside the car. I'm sure whatever you choose will be of top quality going off other reviews and what we found to be true with our meal. The staff according to my carer very friendly and chatty and the place to be clean and tidy. Will definitely pay another visit the next time we come to Morecambe.

I believe you should ONLY be allowed to say TRADITIONAL Fish & Chips if you cook in beef dripping (tallow). Having eaten our National dish all over the country, Kenny's is by FAR the best! For context, my wife and I, and our friends, travel an hour to buy Kenny's!

The best chippy in the area, the only one I'll eat from! Family run business, the nicest staff around they never fail to make me smile when I pop in for food. They have gluten free options. I've been eating here for all 22 years of my life and I've never been disappointed

Best chippy I've ever been to , you can smell the beef dripping when you walk in brought a smile to my face a proper traditional chippy very far and few between nowadays this is a gem of a find and will now be our regular for our chippy tea

Went tonight for fish & chips, curry sauce and mushy peas and it was by far the best fish and chips I've ever had , a proper traditional chippy cooked in beef dripping the way it should be all staff lovely will now be our go to place for our chippy tea highly recommend to anyone !

We were on holiday and read the reviews about this place. However can only mark it as average at best and a little disappointed to be honest. Two haddock and chips and a single haddock £21. The chips were a bit soft tasty though but looked sad. The fish batter was tasty but very greasy which soaked through the paper.

The fish and chips at Kenny’s are absolutely delicious & a visit is made all the better because the staff are always so lovely and friendly.

Just tried to order over the phone, lady took the order then said as its not gluten free, I have to come and que. Why not tell customers this before taking the order or at least advertise this on social media, why bother putting your phone number on Facebook, o wait it's incase I need a gluten free order?

Given them far too many chances never consistent in their food one week the fish is perfect and the next it's pitiful and vice versa for the chips and while it's only two in the shop they seem to be slowing down but at least you don't have to listen to the screeching of hot peas coming through, FFS.

Lovely food family friendly service with a smile

This establishment doesn't cook fish to order, the demand is so great that they cooking all the time. The benefit is that a couple of extra minutes in the drainer leaves the batter crisp and crunchy. Never ever had a bad lunch at Kenny's, it's always spot on.

I stopped here for fish and chips while doing a long drive from London to Scotland. Just fancied getting chips and walking by the sea. This place is amazing, there was a queue which is normally a good sign. The chips here are perfect. The fish is fresh and the batter was light and tasty. I’m just sad that I don’t live nearby and can’t eat here regularly. I genuinely think about the fish supper from here often. Definitely worth seeking out his place.

Visited Kennys chippie for the first time tonight ( pass it every Tuesday on way to work but have never called before. ) Expected it to be hopefully passable as some fish shops are in that area but was in for a shock to discover the best - and l do mean the BEST fish we've EVER tasted outside of Yorkshire. It was cooked to perfection, lovely chunky pieces of haddock wrapped in batter to die for. Obviously cooked in hard fat - maybe beef dripping - what ever it gets our No1 of all time fish shop and a definate MUST for future visits. Well done to all of you!
