Great pub. Only went for a beer but well kept Kirby Lonsdale beer on cask. Free full sized snooker table in the bar. Friendly staff

Visited twice, both times - excellent. Steaks are 10/10.

Called in by chance very friendly and a lovely friendly staff and the place is dog friendly which is great nice menu and lots of choice had the squid and game pie both Nice and tasty and not to pricy. Defo go back and take care dog with usas we were all looked after well.

Called in for Sunday lunch which was very fresh and great quality ingredients. I had the beef which was pink the veg and rosters were great. My friend had an excellent vegetarian option that did not feel like the usual veg alternatives to a roast it fresh, moist and well prepared. The staff were very friendly and the facilities including the toilets were clean and well maintained - would recommend!

Had an amazing meal here on Bank Holiday Monday. They were very busy, but managed to squeeze us in. The service was excellent, the portion size was unbelievable. I am gluten free, and had the best GF fish and chips I have ever had. My husband had the roast pork which he said was fabulous . See pictures 😊 Would highly recommend.

I booked a table for 2.45pm 28th March and arrived at 2.49pm and was told the kitchen was closed. I had phoned to say we were on our way. Why accept a booking for 2.45pm if the kitchen closes at that time. The person I spoke to on arrival was very abrupt. We will not be booking again. We live in Tunstall and always try to support local businesses. We carried on up the road to the Highway man, and had a warm welcome and a lovely meal as always

Changed hands. Been a few times since. Landlord doesn’t engage with customers. Place lacks atmosphere and food is average. When you complain about a dish no matter how nicely seems this is not appreciated- complaints pass through staff and some challenge you even thought they not landlord but inherited staff For a new management this isn’t good but let’s see how it goes through this year. Spent a lot in this pub this last year and three times under new management this year but already wish the old guard was back ! Won’t bother with it for a few months till landlord appreciates his customers rather than ignore them

Went today for Sunday lunch and it was so very good. Meat was tender, lots of veg, tasty gravy and the best cauliflower cheese. I had lamb and a gorgeous glass of Malbe and hubby had pork, both were delicious. We shared the trio of desserts which included lemon posset, chocolate ganache with raspberry sorbet and mango Panna cottage, delicious! Reasonably priced for the quality. We will be back for sure.

Have visited many times and always a really warm welcome. What I love (apart from the really friendly welcome and delicious food) is the comfy chairs!

Had the braised beef and blue cheese pie, it was sublime! Even came with a blackbird pie steamer which was a beautiful touch. My wife had the roast beef dinner, this again was delicious. Service was a little slow to take order and get drinks hence the 3 stars. Would happily return.

We were recommended here by our air bnb host and it did not dissapoint its not often all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals the choice was great but what was even better were the slight difference. Ie not just meatballs but venison ones and the burgers were wild boar and pork . The staff were lovely and friendly and the whole atmosphere was so refreshing. I wish I had a local pub/restaurant like this would highly recommend

We arrived to a very busy pub at 7pm. Glad we had booked as it was packed. We all had different starter and main courses and everything was great. Good sized portions and piping hot. The staff were so busy but very pleasant. Good value for the standard of good here and it’s dog friendly although we didn’t bring ours tonight.

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The service was excellent, attentive but unobtrusive; the decor and ambience was perfect for us, and the food was delicious. The menu offered so many choices, and we both had three courses which is very rare for us. The prices were reasonable.

Simply excellent. Pleasant staff, a nice relaxed atmosphere and food that could not be faulted. If you are in the Lune Valley this is the place to go.

Absolutely stunning in every way! The restaurant is beautiful and such a nice relaxing atmosphere as well. The waiting on staff were fantastic and very friendly. The food was 1st class and reasonable priced, and a lovely choice of drinks too! There is a reason every table was full. Thank you to everyone for an amazing evening. Look forward to our next visit.

Had heard good things about the pub but was overall disappointed with our experience. There was no issue with the service but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the sea bass and prawn linguine, there were 3 prawns and both the sea bass and linguine just tasted of oil and portion size was really small. I think you can often get away with this if the flavour and skill is there, but this was just lacking both. Kids pasta portion was also tiny, second child’s chicken goujons apparently had no flavour. Truffle chips are again, just doused in tasteless oil. I hate leaving negative reviews, and maybe this was an off night. But at near enough £100 for 4 mains and 4 desserts we just left feeling disappointed and will definitely not be returning.

What a lovely Lancashire welcome we had today at the Lunesdale Arms. Service was really friendly and helpful and the food excellent. Add to that the gorgeous countryside location, warm ambience, stylish decor and it was pretty much the perfect pub for a New Year's Day lunch. Highly recommended.

I can't fault this lovely place. The food was excellent, we had tapas and dessert. Staff were friendly too. Oh the ambience was absolutely beautiful. Very clean toilets and tastefully decorated too. Will be back to try the main meals and I definitely recommend!

Everything is absolutely fantastic!!! I don't really need to say anything else! I've always received a very warm welcome, the staff and service are fabulous. The quality of the food is excellent. Great layout of tables in restaurant and bar area. Last had a Yorkshire pudding beef wrap, then went back the following day for a Yorkshire pudding pork wrap..... because they were sooooooo good!

We visited on a sat lunch time , it wasn’t too busy , food was amazing , service wasn’t too good ,we asked for extra bread with the starter it didn’t arrive we had to ask again , we had to go to the bar and ask for drinks I asked for ice it didn’t arrive , had to go to the bar again maybe a new member of staff !!! This is the second time we have been here for lunch, the first time was very good. This time we found the food to be just warm to say the least, we found the beef to be fatty, the dessert was good but the main let the whole experience down.

Very good, first time going will be going again, well worth the run out to it .

The restaurant was somewhat crowded for a midweek lunch. It was towards the end of the lunch serve that we walked in we did have a booking and was well within our allocation. The staff looked exhausted though they did their best to seem pleasing. The food was okay.

Friendly, helpful and efficient staff serving delicious nicely cooked food Enjoyed the Pie Wednesday idea as well. We had the Fish Pie (very filling) and the Lamb & Mint Pie (with nice substantial )pieces of lamb

Enjoyed an excellent lunch today. Our first visit and we were very impressed with the welcome and the staff who were organised, professional and accommodating. The decor is a mix of contemporary, original and quirky. It’s fab! There’s a good choice on the menu and a “specials “ menu too. Prices are very reasonable. We ordered the ham hock Ploughmans and the Crispy beef salad. Both dishes were excellent. We shared a portion of deliciously crispy chips! The restaurant was busy so would advise booking. The toilets are well worth a visit!

Very dog friendly. Nice selection of meals to choose from, not your ordinary pub fare. Mussels with chorizo in a white wine sauce to start, with Chicken Caesar salad for a main. Sea bass and fish pie also looked good. Generous portions, so good value and top quality.

A lovely welcome particularly for the dogs. A great menu with Mediterranean twist. Food cooked well and reasonably priced for the quality.

Our meal here and the all-round dining experience were lovely. The food we had was excellent - well prepared and nicely presented. We liked that the menu is quite varied including tapas-style plates and interesting salads as well as pizzas and more traditional dishes. Despite the restaurant being very busy service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The modern interior looks like it’s been very carefully designed, chic and stylish yet also relaxed and comfy. A great find during our stay in the Ingleton area.

We asked for fillet stake cooked medium. Both stakes were over cooked and very chewey. Shame because we've had great food before from this place before.

We eat fish and vegetarian and had one of the tastiest and most interesting (in a very good way) meals we have experienced for a very long time. Very pleasant dining area, with friendly and efficient staff. The price was middle range and very good value. All the staff are happy, engaging with a good range of food and drinks. Unusually a few minutes after serving they asked us if everything was to our liking, and we had the impression that they genuinely wanted to know! We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to our friends and family. Hopefully it will remain under present ownership with its current chef and staff. Worth the trip to Tunstall!

We last came here for lunch three months ago and were suitably impressed, so decided to return for an evening meal. From start to finish, we were delighted with the service, the food and the ambiance. Our tempura prawns starters came quickly- piping hot, and the batter just right, with a moreish aioli dip. Our main courses of fish pie and slow-cooked duck leg were well presented and both delicious. The duck, on a bed of buttery polenta, was succulent and fell off the bone. There was a long and varied dessert list, and it is good to see that they were all made in-house. My companion enjoyed his Calvados-glazed apricot pavlova. The house Portuguese rosé was crisp and dry, as a good accompaniment. In all, this was a lovely dinner, in pleasant surroundings, with friendly staff, and amazingly well-priced. Highly recommended.

This was a great place for a Saturday meal. Very warm welcome and we were shown to our seats water and menus provided. We ordered the liver pate. Omg the best I’ve had in a long time, risotto with chilli prawns and the fish pie. All wait staff were extremely friendly and professional especially Beth, blonde plaits and Nicola who noticed my partner had finished his drink and came to offer another. All enquires were answered politely and never had to refer to others. Suggestions were made. Travelling around UK for the last 3 months and this was the best place we have eaten in. A definite, going back for lunch

We visited this restaurant whilst staying near Ingleton. It has a lovely vibe and is a really nice mix between a traditional pub and a more modern restaurant. The service was friendly and everyone was very nice. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We had 3 courses and wines/beers and everything we tried was delicious. Would definitely recommend if you're visiting this area.

Espectacular!! This has been a massive discovery. We haven't been happy with any of the restaurants we have tried during our vacation in the Lake District. I did score them as 3 maximum, this one can't be less than a 5. Service friendly, quick, efficient. Food good quality, quantity, great menu. Spanish chorizo. Dessert are amazing too. We found this place by chance on holiday and ended up eating there twice in a week. So welcoming and friendly, fantastic food and great atmosphere. We had two kids and two dogs with us and they went out of their way to find us a suitable table and even brought the dogs water. Really wonderful pub.
