Lovely cup of hot chocolate! Cosy spot out of the elements to grab refreshments! I enjoyed my respite!!!

I have stopped here a few times recently. Beautiful village just off the A14. A great place to meet friends, enjoy the food and go for a walk in the countryside.

Food, great. Venue, great. Atmosphere, great. Company, great. Salivating at the thought of my choice.

I live in the village and have been in the tea room a few times but, admittedly, not for a little while. Nothing to do with the tea room but illness, etc! It was fabulous on those occasions. Today, I decided to take away as remembered just how delicious their Ploughman's Lunch is. Called them up and pre-ordered for collection in 10 minutes. All the staff are still lovely, warm and friendly. The place is a little haven of joy! My lunch was wrapped, on a ceramic plate, ready to go and they made 2 lattes when I arrived so they were piping hot! I also ordered a slice of the lemon polenta cake...it looked at me invitingly!!!! Got home and devoured it...the Ploughman's was so tasty and so fresh, the granary bread lovely..spot on! The lattes were lovely, as agreed by my Fiancè. The lemon polenta cake, although a little expensive, was a dream to eat and worth every penny!! Lovely all round! Please, people of Cranford and outside of Cranford, come and support this lovely little tea room...great staff, excellent food and drinks and a little haven of joy....we all need that at times!!

Lovely little place great stop just a short drive off the dual carriageway on our way to wales. So much better than a soulless service station. Friendly, helpful staff, had the best veg curry I’ve had in a long time, we also had a soup and sandwich combo and jacket potato. Very good value for money. Even found a lovely foot path close by to let the dog off to stretch his legs! Will definitely visit again when travelling this way.

I always pop in when I am in cranford a wonderful place amazing food and value the staff are amazing a wonderful village cafe A must to visit !

If you want a place to stop on a long journey and avoid expensive service stations, The Old Forge Tea Room is perfect. In a wonderful location, easily accessed from the A14. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was exactly what we wanted, and set us up for the rest of our journey to Wales.

Great place to stop for lunch. Lots of choice on menu, all food looked to be homemade and was delicious. Chocolate brownies with ice cream were amazing. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere inside and in the pretty garden with outside seating. Would love to come back.

Beautiful little tearoom with delicious food and cakes! Great variety of lunch options that are all super tasty! They even haven daily specials! The staff are all lovely and so friendly. Very highly recommend!

A little gem in a very pretty setting. We were so lucky to get a table for breakfast this morning- another time we would definitely book as The Old Forge is a popular place. The ladies were welcoming and were very accommodating of our two children who decided to create their own breakfast choices! Lots of choice for breakfast meant that we were all well catered for. They were also very helpful in helping us to find a trustworthy local mechanic, which we were very grateful of.

I'm in a wheelchair. When I booked a table I was told the easiest way in. We ordered our meals and drinks. There was good choices on the menu. When the food came it was delicious. A very enjoyable experience, except for the noise of crockery and cutlery being moved about in the kitchen.

What a lovely place. Father daughter day and decided to stop here for a bit of lunch. Food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely come back.

Even more impressive was that a table of 9 people, all with different versions of the cooked breakfast, had their food delivered really quickly too. The place ran like a very well oiled machine! We planned a stop here on our way to Norfolk for the weekend and follishly didn't think to book ahead. It was busy when we arrived but despite there not being a table free for our group, the staff moved things around to fit us in. We're so glad they did, the food was excellent and a it was a nice and warm atmosphere inside. If you're anywhere near here or passing by then it's definately worth a visit.

Was shown a seat, disappointed that breakfast had finished but they weren’t ready to start serving the lunch menu. Was told I could have a bacon and egg sandwich or some soup. Thought they should have been prepared, decided to leave and fine another local eatery nearby.

A wonderful find on our travel to the village of my husbands gt grandfather. Just down the road from the thatched cottage where he lived. Although fully booked we were able to sit outside to eat our lunch. The staff were very attentive and lovely. The food was sublime and extremely reasonably priced. We would not hesitate to recommend The Old Forge Tea Room

Usually have a good experience here,but unfortunately not today. Felt very pressured to eat up and get out and even asked to move tables between our mains and dessert because people had arrived early for bookings. Think they had overbooked. The lady who spoke to us really needs to brush up her customer service skills.

Wouldn't know, we didn't book but that's not very clear when searching on the website. Place looks charming, no allocated parking, will consider giving it another go another time

Had the most amazing breakfast. The thickness of the bread shows they give what you pay for. The English breakfast cooked to perfection. And a decent sausage and bacon clearly they know how to make customers come back. Plenty of customers as the food is very good. I asked for my yokes to be runny and come as requested. Schweppes orange juice in bottle so super fresh. Staff are respectful and a check up that the food was to our satisfaction. Very very happy.

Dropped in randomly on our way back to Birmingham and I have to say this place is amazing! Firstly, the staff were incredibly friendly, chatty and welcoming. The atmosphere was very quaint and cute, and the place was bustling busy. The food came quickly and was stacked full on huge plates. Everything was fabulous and it was a great lunch. Drop by if you have the chance.

This place is lovely, the breakfast (formidable) is really nice and you get enough food for the price. Drinks are good, too. Definitely recommend a visit but also recommend booking first. The staff are great and attentive. The only issue is due to the building being very old, and they're not able to have an extraction fan (or so I think?), you do smell of fry up when you leave if you're there for breakfast. That said, it doesn't bother me as the place is great. They also have live acts on certain nights, which I have yet to try, and they always sell out fast.

What’s not to love? Delicious reasonably priced home cooked food (including amazing freshly made cakes), friendly staff, lovely atmosphere in a historic building. This place is a gem and we return again and again because we love it. It has a book swap, baby changing facilities and is clearly a much valued community hub in the heart of the village. You couldn’t ask for more.

Closed 30 min before the indicated time, so we were unable to visit it. We drove from the highway to visit this cafe.

First time eating here yesterday. We booked for lunch for four adults and one child. The service and atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish, we all enjoyed the food, lots of choice on the menu and the children's menu went down a treat too! Thank you for a delightful afternoon we will be back again soon!

Awesome place! Great, friendly staff! Greeted by a smashing lady with a great smile! Opted for coffees and cheese and pickle sandwiches. My god, the bread was so tasty and the filling was delicious! One of the best sandwiches I've tasted for a long time! Recommended!

Went for some lunch on a Friday afternoon. I think we were the youngest in there by at least 50 years! Nevertheless, we were served by lovely ladies who were on the ball. We had soup, wrap and a ploughman's which were presented nicely and very yummy. Prices are good too so hope to visit again at some point. My advice is to book a table in advance at lunch time as it can be busy.

Went there at 11.15 but just missed breakfast! Sat and waited for lunch at 1145. Very busy. Good menu and food was lovely.

We pulled off the A14 on our way to The Peaks looking for a quick bite to eat. We just wanted some take out sandwiches and even though they were really busy the owner said no problem especially as he saw we were trying to avoid the dreaded service stations. Really good quality sandwiches and a really pretty spot to stop.

This was a first visit we picked as a convenient mid way meet up venue close to the A14, and what a great find! We emailed ahead to reserve a table and sat outside on a beautiful sunny September day. We decided to go for a late breakfast, and had a gluten free bacon sandwich( thanks for making my bacon crispy) and a gluten free eggs and bacon on toast. The coffee was good, as was the gluten free lemon bakewell and Lady Grey tea that we had as we chatted for so long that lunchtime loomed. It was great to have a choice of four gf cakes, an alternative milk, and friendly helpful staff. I would have loved to try some of their homemade soup, but let's be honest if you can only fit in one thing then it's always going to be cake! The tables were well spaced, hand sanitisers strategically placed and it felt covid safe. Will definitely be back.

What a lovely place! Great atmosphere, great food and fabulous service! This was a treat for my partner on Fathers Day and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfasts were great value, toast was gorgeous too. Definitely going again - it's very popular so book in advance if you don't want to be disappointed.

I have been here for lunch and coffee. There's a good menu with something for everyone. The cakes are lovely and the staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating inside and out even though it is a small property it doesn't feel squashed, lovely country village setting with good access to A14 and easy to park on the street or walk to it from the nearby footpaths from Kettering or the village. They also have music evenings.

Nice place, nice cakes, but spoiled by an accident by the young waiter who rather foolishly tried to balance the tray with drinks on the edge of the table. The inevitable happened and a jug of milk and a mug of coffee were deposited in an open handbag sitting on a chair. The contents and the lining were swimming in the liquid, spoiling the bag and drenching the contents. All we got was a 'sorry about that' and a roll of kitchen towel to mop up the mess with very little assistance from the waiter and lady from behind the counter. We maintained our cool, not wanting to make a scene, but this was obviously interpreted as being a soft touch because all we got was an offer to not charge for one coffee. Unbelievably poor service!

Lovely place with good service, free WiFi and freshly baked scones with their Devonshire teas. Large choice of tea as well.

This is a favourite place that my friends and I go to for a light lunch. It's very pretty, small and delightful. My pal usually books a table for us to avoid any uncertainty of availability. It's a really lovely place and the food is always good. Friendly too!

Great bacon and egg sandwich and coffee - we popped in here on the way home from visiting relatives in Finedon - great place to stop for breakfast with a really great atmosphere - the only downside is its cash only - not a problem really but in this day and age not being able to take a card payment is a bit of a negative.

Visited for the first time today. Will most definitely be back. There were 3 of us who all ordered the full breakfast. Eggs cooked to perfection. Tasty bacon and sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, hash browns, black pudding and door step granary toast. All cooked fresh to order. Plenty of other options on the menu. Servers were inviting and friendly. There is nothing bad to say about our visit. The cafe does not take cards for payment though which could have been embarrassing had we not have been able to scrape the cash together 😂 We will know for next time!!

We recently attended a Caravan Rally at the nearby Vintage Vehicle Show and on our first day there went for a walk around Cranford. We decided to find the nearby Tae Room and how glad we were that we did. For a smallish café it was bursting with people who were enjoying lovely food. It has an extensive menu and specials board. We had coffee on our first visit but decided to return for breakfast the next day. Everything was perfect including the price!
