The best restaurants serving British food in England

Visited Rockwood with husband and parents for the first time last night…..absolutely beautiful decor, friendly service from all staff….the food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had. Cannot fault Rockwood. We will definitely be returning soon! 💯 thank you!

We had a family birthday meal here for 12 adults and 1 child and was asked to preorder food but on the night of the meal 2 adults had to take the child to a&e with respiratory problems and when I told the staff they said I still had to pay for the 3 meals even though they were at the hospital and 10 adults still had their meals, not wanting to cause a fuss on our family members birthday I paid and even though we have eaten there on a lot of occasions in the past we have not returned and nor shall we as the lack of compassion from the staff upset me and when our other guests found out they said they will not be returning either.

As part of a birthday celebration as a family, we visited 31 at the Quay for a meal. On arrival the staff showed us to our table. The waitress was very attentive, polite, and friendly. The atmosphere was really welcoming, and the place was well laid out. We ordered drinks which were brought to the table quickly. Our grandchildren were with us, and the children's menu had a good selection of food for them. Personally, I found it hard to choose as there was so much choice and it was all lovely. I can only talk for myself when I say the mushroom soup tasted like I was eating fresh mushrooms, and the whole party said their starters were amazing. I chose the lamb as my main dish, and that was also very tasty. The vegetables were well cooked and very tasty. I was very full and unable to try any of the desserts on offer. At the end of the meal, the waitress presented a "happy birthday" dessert for the birthday boy. This was a nice touch. Throughout the evening, it was nice to watch the chefs preparing the food for service in front of us. The 3 chefs were busy throughout the evening as we're the waiting staff, but they made it look effortless. Well worth a visit.

A superb stay in a perfect room and a stunning location. Every comfort and detail thought of and a very warm welcome. Would highly recommend!

This was my first visit to The Red Lion.A very pleasant experience indeed. The staff were friendly and the quality of the food was quite excellent. A starter/main course plus wine was just under £50 per head. A fair price for what was provided.Well worth a visit.

Came across this place two weeks ago and have already been four times. Great selection of food and drinks, staff are all very friendly. I will see you again soon!

We were recommended to the Bamboo Garden by several of our friend who used to buy from the Dolphin. im so pleased we tried this place. the staff are wonderful and the food is of the best quality. they will be getting our business from now on

Cosy, intimate environment, good food, good friends, great location for aperitifs and short walk into city.

This was our second visit to the Red Lion. Again, the food was delicious, fresh and tasty. If you want to enjoy authentic, fresh, delicious and tasty Thai cuisine, then this is the place! The most delicious Thai food we have enjoyed since Thailand. Highly recommended!
