Cerutti 2 in East Riding of Yorkshire

What a wonderful experience. I booked for a family l lunch for 12. People came from far and wide, all cousins of an elderly nature, The reception, the service and the food was superb. Essentially a fish restaurant there were chicken and vegetarian options. Many thanks to all the staff involved. Cant say much more to recommend Cerutti 2

I was there with a party of friends and the food was great and reasonably priced for the good quality. Sorry to disagree so much with the last reviewer, but the host was charming and helpful to us. Although none of us were directly from Beverley we enjoyed this and learned much. Take this against reviews for chain restaurants and cafes.

Lovely meal but the host was awful. Wouldn't leave us alone, and intrusive- ' what do you do?'; 'which school did you work at?'; 'where did you live in London?'" None of your business mate, and I don't like the snobbish implication that I might nor be good enough to eat at your restaurant. Don't worry, I won't be back.

We visited for a birthday celebration meal for my mother. We were immediately impressed by the owners' friendly greeting and easy professionalism and by the elegant, art -deco influenced interior and the beautifully set tables. We were equally impressed by the food. I can sincerely say that the moules mariniere (starter) and the fish stew (main) were the most delicious I've ever had anywhere and my mother was greatly impressed with fresh crab salad (starter) and the fillet steak, which came with a silky smooth and sophisticated Vorsaroff sauce. Mini deserts and coffees finshed of what was a most excellent and hugely enjoyable evening. The sister and brother team who own and run Cerruti 2 obviously share a passion for what they do and this shines through in the service, the ambience and in the exquisite food. Highly recommended.

Fabulous family lunch. Had the fish grill. Sumptuous fresh fish: haddock, halibut, salmon, monkfish, sea bass, scallop and prawn. Perfectly grilled. Lemon and a little pepper was all it needed with some tartar sauce. A few naughty chips and a tomato and red onion salad. Rivalled the best fish restaurants in London in my opinion. Superb. Friendly service. Busy buzzy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We have been customers of this fantastic restaurant since the first day it opened and every meal we have had has been A1 . A great family business with top quality food and service. Fish is a specialty. My gourmet Parisian friends always ask to go there and say the champagne is much cheaper than Paris . Their outside catering has covered almost every family event in the last 35 years.

Such a lovely experience, really enjoyed our dinner, the beer battered scampi is always a treat. All beautifully presented by the chef and served by professional staff, Tina herself came over to insure we were enjoying our dinner. Looking forward to my next visit.

Wow, If you’re looking for a restaurant where excellent food and service are the norm, Cerutti 2 in Beverley brilliant. We had an excellent dinner on Saturday 24th February which was up to the high standard always delivered by Cerutti2. Tina, Tony and the team have been offering the finest fish (and meat for carnivores) for many years continuing the legacy of their parents. We were with family and friends and everyone ordered a different selection of food. Nobody was disappointed and we can’t wait for a return visit. If you find yourself visiting Beverley make sure you add this restaurant to your trip.

Not a great experience I'm afraid , my food was very bland . Fish grill was just exactly that , Just a plate of unseasoned fish . Waiter was very smarmy . I asked what comes with the fish grill ... he actually laughed and said "fish"... What he should of said was a plate of non grilled fish with a tiny sprig of parsley & 1 tiny prawn. And No sauce. We took a selfie it being our anniversary (you know just having fun) He remarked that if that happened when he worked in London he would of deleted the photograph !!!! Ok , thanks for that . Anyway . If any of the above sounds like your thing go for it . I wont be back I'm afraid . Ill be giving my business to newer establishments with less of archaic views and service.

A fabulous restaurant with a lovely family offering fresh quality meals at very reasonable prices.

We went for an early evening Friday meal before going to the nearby theatre. We were welcomed by Tony, and both he and his sister Tina were charming and informative throughout the meal. The meal matched the welcome; we both had a starter & mains, from the fish menu, which were excellent. Nice bottle of Gavi wine as well. Highly recommend this restaurant for great food & service. Will be back next time we are in Beverley.

We have been using Cerutti 2 situated in the old waiting room at Beverley station for almost a decade. It is primarily a fish restaurant, although there are one or two meat dishes, (steak) on the menu. It is very much a family affair with Tina Cerutti the head chef, and Tony Cerutti and his son Dominic serving the guests. Four of usually meet for lunch around every six weeks. It is always consistently excellent. There is large menu, mostly fish done in many different ways and a large variety. The former railway waiting room dating from around the 1850s with its high ceilings makes for an elegant dinning room. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 9pm.

Went for our anniversary. Good food. Good atmosphere. lovely staff.

Delicious seafood, honestly faultless! And had so much flavour - Great staff who were very attentive, definitely recommend.

Today I had my first meal at Cerutti “2”. The entire experience was excellent! There is something a little old fashioned about the event. The welcome I received was fulsome. The dining room is elegant and the food was wonderful. My starter was the fish cakes which were two really light and tasty cakes sitting in a butter and chive sauce. It makes a change not to have to season sauces because they taste perfectly season when they arrive. I could cheerfully have selected anything from the menu for my main course but, as I normally do when trying somewhere new, I chose the fish, chips and mushy peas. It was just about the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The batter was extremely crisp and as light as a feather. The fish was a thick fillet of haddock, perfectly cooked and served nice and hot. The other extraordinary feature was the price of the meal. Including a large glass of wine and a pot of tea the meal cost me £36. Yesterday, in London, I paid almost twice as much for lunch which included Diet Coke rather than wine. This was my first visit but it won’t be my last. Many thanks.

Cerutti 2 to my knowledge is currently Beverley’s longest serving restaurant, well into 30+ years. There is options for meat eaters & vegetarian. Adjustments made for gluten free which was very much appreciated. C2 has stayed true to their roots. Traditional family run restaurant. Enjoyed our lunch. Thank you

Four of us went for lunch; we had tried to visit previously but could never get a table. The food was delicious, with nicely spiced/herbed sauces. The mussels were outstanding, the scallops were delicious, the whitebait was the best. Our maitre d', Tina was very attentive, as was our waitperson Dominic. The interior is simple but very pleasant. The winelist is good and reasonably priced

Feel a bit mixed writing this review. The rating is on the food and not the restaurant itself which I would have given a 1. I had scallops to start which was nice but garnished with some very bitter leaves. Very very good fresh grilled lobster. My Dad and FIL had plates swimming with sauce. Actually looked like soup but they ate everything and said it was good. No veggies or potato’s on the side. Although you can order them it’s not clear the main is all you get. And for the price I would expect a few veggies at least Now my issues are: broken floor tiles, dust hanging off the lights, dirty metal racking to my left, place mats were the paper menu, waitresses literally dump your food on the table and most importantly a double locked fire exit. I am a fire risk assessor and this is highly illegal and you can bet that in an emergency no one can find the key for the padlock. Although food was pretty good I will not go back. I think for what we spent there are better restaurants to go to.

What a lovely evening! Fab food - lobster amazing, the staff there so friendly & helpful & the Champagne cocktail - well ! Thank you for a great night, it was even nicer that we weren’t rushed & could sit & talk after.

I’ve been here a few times and it never fails to impress us.. lovely entrance, we’re staff greet you and make you feel welcome. Once seated you have a menu which is also your place matt.. Drinks orders put in and a lovely menu to look over , plus also informed of specials on the black board. Once we placed our order, bread with butter is brought to the table, owner tina takes of food order and she’s off.. we had starts and mains and of course puds.. all beautifully cooked from fresh. Veg separately in dish for 2. Tina and her brother keep checking we’re all ok whilst we’re eating but not in your face, also waitressing staff also very tentative. Everyone had a warm smile. Nice buzz about this delicious and delightful restaurant.. can’t fault the team .

Excellent service which nearly matched the quality of the food.Very difficult to describe how good it was, much easier to go sample and enjoy it.

A lovely seafood lunch with friendly service was fabulous yesterday!

Celebrating a family member's 80th Birthday, 11 of us, including 3 children were treated to the most wonderful service and superb food. Tina and Tony Cerutti are an absolute credit to the restaurant trade. Nothing was too much trouble - they catered for a vegan and a gluten free diet with no stress at all. Everything was very freshly cooked and everyone said that their meal was outstanding. Thank you to all the staff who made our evening so enjoyable. We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant which has been a part of Beverley's restaurant scene for many years.

This has to be the best seafood restaurant for miles.The owners /staff friendly, knowledgeable and make it a lovely experience. There is only one problem and that is deciding which meal to choose. All I can say is Wow Wow Wow.

An outstanding meal and service. We have been at this lovely restaurant this afternoon to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Holderness Arts Society. Do not miss an opportunity to visit this little gem of a restaurant in Beverley. Unusual setting in the train station but beautifully arranged, with fantastic staff and food to die for. Having spent a short break here for a few days with my husband and elderly father, I was lucky to just spot this restaurant online and with parking onsite, it ticked all our boxes. Food was exquisite, fresh quality ingredients cooked to perfection.

On an adventure day out by train with my husband, sadly there were various train cancellations and delays but it meant that we ended up in Beverley, arriving at lunchtime and feeling hungry!! We exited the station and immediately came across this wonderful establishment, where we chatted with the owner and chef who were outside. We decided to enjoy a drink in the sunshine initially, but having seen the menu for this Fish Restaurant we decided to stay for lunch as everything on the menu looked amazing. Our starters were Fishcakes with Curry sauce which my husband said was really nice, and the most divine Scallops I’ve tasted in a while, beautifully presented with accompaniments including garlic mushrooms …. Fantastic! Mains were Halibut and Sea Bass both of which were superb, new potatoes cauliflower cheese and mixed vegetables washed down with a fine tasting Sauvignon!! As we didn’t need a sweet (but I fancied ‘something’ to finish off our beautiful meal), we were offered a mini dessert and either coffee or dessert wine…. Having enjoyed champagne already I settled for coffee and a gorgeous mini crème brûlée. What a gem of a discovery which turned a frustrating morning of train travel into a fabulous day. The service was excellent, Tony (? apologies if I have this wrong), welcomed us, there was no pressure whatsoever to order, he was merely chatting to us, we discussed the menu, he organised a lovely table which had our wine, some water and bread on it all waiting for us as we were seated… I loved that!! It was altogether an amazing experience which was totally unplanned and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Having had such awesome food all of it was presented beautifully, having been welcomed by both owners of the restaurant and chatted with the chef I can say that Cerruti 2 is absolutely worth a visit!! We will plan a lunch in Beverley on the train again very soon!!

We went for a family dinner with my parents. We all love fish and travelled 50 miles to get there, great food and friendly service in a traditional styled restaurant. Well cooked fish starter dishes from Scampi, scallops and squid to fish stew and fish and chips as our mains. All fantastic and nobody wanted a desert as we were pleasantly full.

If you like fish go!!!! This is top notch Nosh!!! What a fab meal, great service by very friendly staff. Food is some of the best we have had.

It has been a while since I have been back in the area, but I had to visit here as I have had many wonderful meals here. It seems the menu has broadened - some great options for non fish and seafood, tho less seafood ? Whatever- we had a wonderful dinner. Great service too. Very attractive premises.

It's very hard to imagine that seafood could be cooked at a higher level than that achieved by Tina and her brigade. Front of house is just as accomplished. A habit forming destination!

There was a great atmosphere on a Saturday evening at this family-run restaurant. The food was all beautifully cooked and presented. Service was exceptionally friendly and efficient. Good Italian wines and local beers etc. I don't like fish or seafood, but the non-fish options were excellent. All in all, one of the best meals we had had in a long time.

Well arcryan2015 whoever you are what utter rubbish. The restaurant is sited in the former waiting room of Beverley Station. Colonial atmoshere, come on, and neither do the customers fit that bill. The staff are welcoming, efficient and nothing is too much trouble for them....

Food is ok at best but comes nowhere near as good as the staff think they are. The place is like a 19th century indian colonial restaurant full of withered colonels and British ambasadorial egotists. The food isn't worth the arogance

This was our first visit to Cerutti's after a friend recommended the restaurant. Excellent food and service, lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff very relaxed and attentive, good varied choice on the menu, was not rushed at any point. Will definitely be returning.

We had a family gathering. The staff were very welcoming, helpful over menu choices, and pleasant throughout the meal. They were attentive but not overbearing. The menu choices were excellent. I had beer battered scampi as starter followed by sea bass (which was on the specials menu. My desert was lemon meringue roulade drizzled with chocolate sauce. All delicious. Prices were good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was OK. Nice inside, food served nicely and enjoyable but I didn't feel welcome. Hard to explain but obviously where a lot of regulars go and we were not that - maybe? Worth a visit but not sure about a second one.

The food was delicious. Fish cooked to perfection. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. Tables were well spaced out and staff all wore masks. The choice of dishes for lunch was unusually large. Well done Tina and co.

We've been using the Cerutti take away service during this latest lockdown. But trying our best to make it a special occasion , getting dressed up, nice bottle of wine. It's been good. The food hasn't disappointed. Had grilled fish as a main on Saturday. Now that's hard to travel from the restaurant to my house, but it did. The organisation and packaging they've got right. And they're so nice. I'll look forward to going to the restaurant when we can, but for now we'll definitely be continuing to work our way through the menu, and using the deli - which is also great food.

Family favourite for many years. Service is always exceptional and many a beautiful memory has been made in that restaurant. Food is always fantastic, and the wine is all delicious. I am also particularly enamoured with the gin selection; it is wide-ranging and truly compliments the exquisite menu. Menu-wise, the Mango Chicken is divine, as are the gorgeous first course roulades and salmon dishes. For a particularly indulgent meal, the warm stilton and avocado salad or the whitebait are perfection! For excellent food and drink and a personal service, Cerutti 2 is the place!

What an amazing restaurant this place is. Even during these tough times they are adapting and providing their great food as take out. Credit to them for changing to serve their customers.
