Union Street Brasserie in South Somerset

A group of six friends met for lunch, everything was excellent. The coronation chicken flatbread was really yummy.

The food is great, the welcome and service are excellent. It's one of my favourite places to eat.

Very nice place, delicious food and wide choice. Empty room because I went at 3pm, but they confined me to eating on a sofa (I was the only customer present but I hadn't booked, so they didn't know where to sit me). Honestly incomprehensible, uncomfortable place.

Great venue for food and service. Always book as it does get busy most times of the week. Food nicely prepared and cooked. Good for Gluten Free also.

Ordered bread, olive oil and balsamic for the light bites..... the bread we have for sanwiches was better than this dismall attempt. We then ordered small plates of all different varities from cheese to meat and veg. Surprised how quickly it came out, however was then non surprised as it was all deep fried, fatty and rather vile. Have both left feeling rather sick.

Great place to go wether its for just Coffee, or Breakfast. We enjoyed a full Breakfast. Good food nicely cooked. Staff how ever busy are always helpful. Nice to see them always busy. Yet to try their lunch, the menu looks tempting

I have never visited before and was not disappointed. Lovely venue, clean and tidy. Attentive service and the food was delightful. We both had breakfasts, 1 vegetarian and 1 normal. Great presentation, tasty and hot. Will be coming back!!

Today I held a baby shower cream tea at Union street for my friend, we held it at US because of our long standing relationship with our family. We felt is was a trustworthy and reliable place that would give the best possible experience to our soon to be baby mumma. Unfortunately this hasn’t turned out to be the case. I spoke with you/your staff 4 times prior to today regarding all of the arrangements and at no point was I told of any cancellation policy or terms of use of your services nor did I sign anything. I called up on the day when I was informed that 3 of the 20 people who had RSVP to the event could no longer attend. At that point I was thanked for letting US know and that was that. I did this out of common courtesy. Everyone paid for themselves as they left and the Mum to be was the last to leave (understandably as she was thanking everyone for coming) when she went to pay for her cream tea she was also charged for the 3 cream tea’s that we informed you were no longer needed earlier on in the day. I have tried to talk to the manager with regards to the situation and have not been met with the customer service that my family is used to and would expect from such an establishment. We are all extremely shocked by the situation and cannot get out heads around it. If you had previously informed us of the t&c’s we would understand and you/your staff had plenty of opportunity to let me know that i would still need to pay for the cream tea’s in which case I would have gladly done so and asked for them to be boxed up ready for us to take home. If we were having to still pay for the 3 that were no longer coming, why did we not have them at our table for us to enjoy? Or given to us as we left to take for the 3 guests that couldn't come seeing as it was already made up? As I was told by the manager that this food had already been made up, hence having to pay £113 extra! I am saddened that this has happened as we have never experienced anything like this at US before. Having spoken to the manager I was made to feel like this is my fault as I didn't give 24 hour notice and never received an apology for the lack of communication and vital information missed from the staff at US, and this negligence from the staff has cost us £113, which would have been avoided if staff had made me aware of their 24 hour rule. We were having a lovely time until this happened and it's put a real dampener on my friends special day. This would have been a completely different review if this situation was handled better.

The food was good and the staff were pleasant. The prices weren't too bad either. Will be going back for another visit in the near future.

The best place for a fry up in Yeovil without a doubt!!!

Pre ordered food as a group booking, I requested the Grilled Goat cheese and figs salad. I was told on arrival their supplier had not delivered the figs so offered pear as a substitute. The pear was not ripe and on the firm and quite bland, which was a shame as the salad looked good and the goat cheese was tasty. At £13 for a salad it seems a little steep for what you get. The cocktails we ordered did not all arrive at the same time (there were only 7 of us so not a big party). The Pina colada was bland. The quiche that others had ordered did look pretty good. Also had to ask for some water and the waitress just bought a jug of water, we had to ask for glasses as well. The place is nice enough but lacking a little atmosphere.

We absolutely adore this place. It’s wise to book, to secure a great seat, but they’re wonderful at squeezing us in the times we didn’t. The food is absolutely perfect, great portions, and a fantastic price. The service puts most other restaurants to shame, and it’s such a relaxed, elegant atmosphere that it’s more of an experience than a meal. Thank you SO much for everything you provide, USB, we adore you.

Had the poached eggs on granary toast. Eggs cooked really well. This is in a lovely building and the staff were all lovely and plenty of them too. Well worth a visit.

We met up with family while in Yeovil and enjoyed a pleasant late breakfast. The choices included full english, omelette, vegetarian and everyone enjoyed their choices. Service was good and overall I felt the cost was reasonable.

Went here for the first time today. Had to wait nearly 20 minutes for 3 lunches, wasn't too busy. The food was very nice but not the cheapest. The drinks are quite small and pricey, I overheard one of the more experienced waitresses say they were refillable but the waitress we had never told us that and by that point we were about to go and pay. The waitress we had seemed not that confident and needs a bit more support maybe. We will probably be back but be purchasing something cheaper next time.

Came across this little gem of a place by accident, whilst looking for somewhere nice to have lunch! We loved the look of the place and found the staff very welcoming and pleasant. The food was delicious! I had the Mediterranean quiche with salad and my husband had the nicest looking ploughman's I've seen. Definitely worth a visit and we'll be back another time.

Just dropped in today, food was brilliant and service was first class

The big breakfast was ok a little pricy and the Sausage was over cooked the bacon under cooked and the beans microwaved. My wife had a croissant was over cooked. The staff are really good just to get the food a little better would make it a better experience. So might try again but food will have to be on point for one sausage 2 bacon a mushroom 2 hash browns two eggs small beans and toast 12.00 pounds

Went for breakfast here after looking at the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Lovely breakfast lots on the menu, reasonably priced and lovely staff. I would recommend booking around peak times.

Hands down my absolute favourite place to go in town. Everything I love about Union Street Brassier. My ‘me’ time if I get a spare half hour is to pop in here for a coffee. The atmosphere is always busy and cheerful. The decor puts this venue head and shoulders above anywhere else in town or the local area. This venue could easily fit in Bath, Bruton or London with how stylish it is. The food and drink are delicious, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the prices are unbelievable reasonable. I’ve just paid £3.10 for a cappuccino I’m sure other high street coffee chains charge more than this and just don’t deliver anywhere near the quality. I’ve been here for cocktails at happy hour and dinner previously and again fantastic. My friends and I have a get together soon for food and drinks and I cannot wait to get dressed up and have another jolly good time. Big congratulations to Union Street Brassier for doing what you do.

Best food and service in the town. A charming little place. I needed some nourishment after a busy morning. My chicken and bacalon salad was beautiful with simple, honest and fresh ingredients. Prepared with love. Served with smiles. Incredibly tasty. Definitely wi be going back. Great value too! Rare these days

Such a lovely independent brasserie. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly . We have been here a couple of times now for brunch and have always been very impressed . Plenty of veggie/vegan options as well.

Great breakfast and really good smoothie made, based on the noises coming from the kitchen, with a chain saw. Good coffee too and the perfect remedy for the morning after a 40th birthday party.

Always have a coffee and cake here everytime I visited Yeovil. My favourite is Victorian Sponge Cake. Delicious.

Go there regularly with friends from various churches & enjoy coffee mornings on Fridays also for the odd evening meal & had a friend's birthday tea there too ..Such a friendly place ,The team are very helpful & always cheerful...Food is amazing...If you can't eat a full English breakfast you can opt for a junior breakfast instead... even us adults 😁 I would also recommend Their Omelettes,Eggs Benny's & Scones😋😋The prices are very reasonable especially considering the prices of food in most places these days .

We went to the Brasserie for the first time and we were nit disappointed. My hubby had a full English breakfast and I had a plant based breakfast. Both breakfasts were amazing both in the quality and quantity of food. The service was very good and staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely young girl trying to take our Dessert menu when older waitress barged in and shouted the waitress barged in and shouted I'll do this the poor young girl was left stunned and almost in tears we were stunned as the older waitress just walked off leaving us hydroy and then proceed once we got our desserts to clear the table while we were still eating putting our arm in front of my mouth when I was trying to put food into it not good

The staff and owner know their customers and business. The perfect balance, fantastic homemade cakes, champagne afternoon teas and really delicious lunches and dinners. Tried it all.

A fantastic little spot to grab a reasonably priced Sunday lunch. Great portions, great flavours and sublime customer service from all involved. Always a great atmosphere here, and always full of customers which is testament to their popularity.

We had a wonderful evening at the Brasserie, the Xmas menu food was really lovely, the Xmas tree was huge which lead to a festive atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Great place for a xmas party.

I went to lunch to Union Street Brasserie with a friend. Safe to say I won't be returning here... We had to wait a while to be taken to our table (which i didnt mind too much although we had booked in advance) Once we finally ordered, we waited 40 mins for our food. My fish was over cooked. I asked for another drink but had to ask twice for it ans waited a long time. When I went to go pay, they over charged me (I wanted to split with my friend). The waitress apologised but told to sort it between us. Really wasn't happy with the customer service, food was bog standard, won't be returning.

Love love love this place! If I ever fancy a little bit of a luxury, warm, and welcoming environment to just chill and chat this is my go to place. Very popular so if you want a meal best to book, the staff are friendly and helpful and the homemade cakes are divine. I can't recommend highly enough.

Thank you USB for hosting a wonderful evening in celebration of a special birthday! The staff could not have been nicer, the food was wonderful and the room was set up perfectly for the group of 15. Will certainly think of USB first for our next special occasion.

Can't fault them. It was full even at 12.30 on a Tuesday but they managed to find us a sofa seat Service was quick and they even offered us a move to a table as soon as one became available. Food was tasty and fairly priced. They had a separate page of gins to drink which kept my mother happy and I had their own USB cider which was very drinkable. I will go back but will book in future to avoid disappointment.

Arrived first time in Yeovil. Rain started to bucket down so sought shelter here for lunch. Delicious home-made quiche wow. And we shared a waffle for dessert...also superb. And such kind and happy service. What a lovely place USB must to work at...

Every single time I come here, the service is exceptional from all staff members. The food is outstanding in taste and looks beautifully displayed on the plate. The coffee is delicious. It’s always busy but I’ve never struggled to get a seat. It is really very well priced. My next thing to try at Union Street Brassier is their happy hour cocktails 1 very happy customer

A very pleasant bistro in the back street of this market town. Staff are very friendly and the food is good with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options . There are multiple rooms to choose from including a courtyard.Well spaced out tables. A good drinks list.

The food too a while to arrive however it was worth the wait. I don't mind waiting for food as long as it's done well, which in this case it was. Staff was really friendly and it was just a relaxed atmosphere. Portion sizes are good also, I'm still struggling to finish my meal. I would definitely come back here again. If you haven't been here then I would give this place a try.
