One of the best fish and chips that I have eaten in my life 👏🏻

This is the second time we've been to Lenas. I'm a restauranteur so know when I'm getting excellent quality food and service. This place is AMAZING! Such a friendly (family run) team and the food is perfect. I'm addicted to their chips! We will come here anytime we visit Southend without fail

The owners are perverts kept looking out of the window. The owners were more interested looking out of windows, smoking outside and looking at there phones. We felt uncomfortable eating there.

Really good cod and portions, atmosphere was warm. Amazing and chill service, workers were very welcoming and loving. I really recommend it. My mom fell in love in the chef.

After searching the seafront for a chippy that sold Skate we found this little gem up near the pier . The guys were so welcoming and made us feel at home while they got busy cooking our fresh skate and chips. WOW! When it arrived we were blown away by the size and quality of the food. The fish was amazing, thick, white, nice batter, and the chips were to die for. As good skate and chips we’ve had anywhere.Will be returning SOON.

Listen, you can stop looking for fish & chips now, because this is the final boss level of Fish & Chips. When you have fish & chips from Lena's - congratulations, you've completed the game! Chips are perfect. Legit. They're chunky, they're crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside... And they look it too. If there's a food version of Only Fans then these chips are in the top 0.1% of Only Fans users. We were a party of 5 - everyone loved it. Your kids won't wanna go to McDonalds, or Burger King anymore, hell your kids won't even wanna go to DisneyLand anymore, they'll just wanna go back to Lena's. I'm not even joking when I say my kids legit made us leave Adventure Island early to get to Lena's the second time. Need to add one more bit about the service - also 5/5. Absolute sweethearts the lot of them, and that's the icing on the cake (or the salt on the chips?) of this place, because end of the day it doesnt matter how good the food is, if the service is bad - Im not going back, but the service here matches the food, everyone is lovely. I genuinely can't say enough good things about this place. Anyway, stop reading my review of Lena's and go get your dinner there.

Such a lovely resturant. We really enjoyed the cod fish and chips, the large is a big portion and divided it between two. It was so great to hear that it was halal as well. We met the owner of the restaurant and he was very welcoming and reassured us about the halal food. Overall, amazing food and great atmosphere.

Delicious large cod and chips with crispy batter and chips. The location, close to the pier, is super convenient. Friendly and attentive staff made the experience even better. Highly recommended! Take away option is available.

Best service I have ever received. The manager and his brother were so welcoming and friendly especially with an our dog . The food was incredible and the fish wasn’t greasy or overly battered . The chops were crispy and chunky. I highly recommend coming to Lena’s cafe if you’re ever in Southend their hospitality was amazing! Thank you so much for! Really nice family run business. Regid was very welcoming to me and my mum. 10/10 service. He made sure we were comfortable and presented the food to us before boxing it up so we could have lunch on the beach. The food was amazing, clean, cooked perfectly and garnished beautifully. It included a few extras aswell. We had a pleasant chat and off we went. He mentioned that he had been running the place for 14 years, I can see why.

Walked into this little cafe as it had welcoming atmosphere, having just walked out of one next door that was playing loud music. We were surprised that that went off menu with what my partner asked for, and they accommodated it no problem. The chips are to die for, and the tea was nice, with sugar that you can pour rather than packets. It was so nice we popped back in later that day, and then again a few days later and they recognised us. We had the same great service and food. The prices are very reasonable here, and having the night before had a bad experience at a tgi Fridays, at three times the price, Lena's cafe could teach them a thing or two. Top marks, next time we are in the area, we will be back!

it was a wonderful experience. they are wonderful guys running the shop. the best fish and chips in the area. they gave us complimentary chips and they were very friendly people. it is also halal. overall highly recommended

Found this cafe after coming back from the pier. Beautiful fish n chips at a reasonable price. The two guys there were so amazing and fun to chat with. The chips were fluffy on the inside and crunchy of the outside and the fish was cooked to perfection. 10/10 would recommend

We're from Australia and our fish and chip game is very high but this absolutely is some of the best we've ever had! The fish was perfect and delicate, the calamari was sweet and crisp and a perfect size and the the chips! Large and crispy with beautiful fluffy insides! The service was impeccable, happily folding our chips into the traditional paper cone my mother so wanted for the true fish and chips experience! Cannot recommend highly enough, the spot is cute and beautifully clean and we'll definitely be coming back!!

If you’re ever coming to the seaside for fish and chips, then this is the place to come. The Chips taste triple fried, the fish is gigantic, the service friendly the business, a family. They even cut up a sausage for my little dog.

My mum was visiting from overseas and I took her to Southend for the day. The weather is pretty cold but the lunch meal at this restaurant was lovely. It has a nice cafe atmosphere inside. The waiting staff are polite and helpful. We sat outside to start with and then decided to move inside and they were very accommodating. The food was lovely. The chips were the best - cooked to perfection. The fish was also nice. Reasonable prices too!

We came in here on Friday 12th April and had a lovely fish and chip meal. The only thing which we found was wrong was my 3 year old granson wanted Savloy and chips which wasn't on the kids Meau? So it cost us £8 for Savloy and chips which to me a take on.

Denied us a table because we were 2 whereas the group behind us was a family (who they still hadn’t decided whether to go to Lena’s cafe or elsewhere whereas we had asked for the table). He claimed they were “local”. Too opportunistic and lack of treating clients with respect and fairness. Bad business model. There’s better family-run fish and chips shops on the same street. We did ask for the table in a very decisive manner :)

We found Lena’s cafe on a weekend to South end and the breakfast was awesome, we went back the following morning again. Staff were really friendly.

Great food and great hosts. Will defo return. Thanks for letting us bring in our dog too 👍

Family run fish and chop shop on the seafront with over 10 years of heritage, I had a portion of triple cooked chips were sensational with a the crispiest battered sausage you will ever find! Highly recommend you pay them a visit if you find yourself in south end!

Even if we ate in the evening, the fried food was very good,so not old oil. Very kind waiter and cook.We ate hamburgers, fries, nuggets and salad with grilled chicken breast, all very good.We will definitely be back. Update after some months: we came back we ate fish and chips and still same good standard of service, quality food and cleaning .

We came across this fantastic cafe yesterday. I had small cod and chips, hubby burger and chips. Absolutely delicious and piping hot. Having a small portion of cod was perfect, especially when I saw the size of the normal portion. Food piping hot and service excellent. We would definitely recommend.

Only popped by to get a small chips to eat in the car, but they were insanely good. Chunky chips that tasted triple cooked like you would get from a fancy restaurant; not greasy or soggy and freshly made.

best fish and chips you will ever have! had small cod and chips with a tea, the fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was light and crispy. the tea was a proper english tea, perfect with the fish. would highly recommend coming here if you ever come to southend. customer service was lovely, the man was polite and easy-going.

Great café! We were only in Southend for a short time as we came on the Waverley and had to allow time for the train up the pier and back. We took the last available table and the food was served promptly, service with a smile and it was delicious! Definitely recommend!

Don't understand the good reviews. These are not authentic fish and chips, it's the sort that would be served in a school canteen, not what you'd get from a traditional seaside fish and chip shop. The fish didn't have proper batter on it, the chips weren't the proper type cooked from fresh.

Delicious food. Had a bacon and sausage baguette. Also had a Latte, it was nice and hot and tasty lovely. Over visiting from Australia 🇦🇺, it was the best coffee ive had in the UK 🇬🇧 Lovely lady owner 😀 Would highly recommend this cafe.

Was brought in by a young blonde girl who ended being the waitress she was super helpful and kind the owner is very lucky to have a worker like her. The food was spot on and delicious the fish was cooked perfectly and good size portions would definitely recommend coming here with your family
