We visited for lunch before visiting the theatre and had the added bonus of 15% off our bill. The food was very high quality and delicious and huge. I ordered the burger and chips and the onion rings were phenomenal. It is very reasonably priced and great value for money. The decor is modern and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Oh and the coffee is fantastic. Could not praise this place any higher

Had a good rather large all day breakfast. Tide was in and the view across the Thames is fantastic.

We were on holiday from New Zealand and decided to try Nine for breakfast, it was so delicious we went back the next day for more! Fantastic staff, service was first class and absolutely delicious food! Highly recommend! Wish we had our dog with us it was great to see dog’s so welcomed with breakfast and puppuccino’s offered.

Friday 18th August, had a long day walking, just wanted nice little restaurant that allowed well behaved dogs. We found NINE, right from the start their customer service was excellent, would like to give 10 stars, nothing was too much trouble, answered all our questions reference certain foods, also had chicken for the dog, he ate every morsel, so his opinion counts. All our food was lovely and very well presented, and yes the Sauvignon was very nice. I am a senior citizen and still think manners count towards good customer service, if I lived nearer I would send my friends here. Thank you to all staff who made the end of the day just right.

As a regular I Ordered a pizette but base was practically raw. Told waiter who said he’ll speak to the chef. When we paid I asked if he’d told the chef and he said yes he said it was a bit under done. No apologies. No would you like a coffee. I’ll be voting with my feet

Great spot for a Sunday morning brunch by the sea.

One of my favorite cafés/restaurants in the area. The views to the estuary are great and all the staff are always super friendly! The food and the drinks are good and the price is just right. It's one of the few places in the area where you can get vegan gluten free food, which is quite good, even though there aren't many options for that. If you're in the area and hungry, it's a nice place to go.

A really nice place to eat on the seafront, the food was really nice and plenty of it. The service and atmosphere was great, and the staff very friendly, they even brought a bowl of water up for the dog. Definitely recommend 👌

Lovely guy served us a hot coffee, just what we needed after a brisk walk along the seafront!

I reviewed this restaurant when it first open and thought it was great. On visiting today the fish and chips was all chips miles to many enough for about 3 people. Other people commented on this and left a load on their plate. The service was slow although the two young girls were pleasant. The owner should look at this a huge waste in chips.

We have been here many times , dogs in dinning area,s spoil.it for me, so wont be back any time soon.

Don’t normally leave reviews but after my breakfast experience this morning it would of been rude not to. The vegetarian breakfast was beautiful and was even offered the choice of sourdough bread which was a lovely add on to my meal. The Decor and atmosphere is wonderful, staff are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be the first place in mind when looking to go out for breakfast. Thank you for the excellent service.

An amazing find, we thought we’d end up with McDonald’s after a theatre show, so glad we didn’t. Service was brilliant, kept us informed, great selection of meals, generous portions, very reasonable price and a beautiful setting for an impromptu meal out!

I think the only time you should visit the place is when you're really hungry I find it to be very greasy with their fish and chips batter on the fish was absolutely disgusting. Don't get the photos fool you the food don't look nothing like it

The Views speak for themselves but to have the most awesome freshly cooked food served by really great vibrant staff working through seriously hot conditions ! 10 out of 10 … I’m definitely loving the vibes at this place … enjoy x

Great little cafe, the best one in the Arches. Love the food, staff, decor, ambience. Could not recommend more highly. Favourite for breakfast and the hog roast sausages are fantastic.

Excellent service food came out quickly , was all hot cooked to perfection very tasty . No mess ups with orders . Highly recommend a visit . Was a hot day try and sit outside as we melted inside but not their fault possibly a fan on their bar would help. Def be going back

Turned up on the off chance as a group of six people. The host made up a table for us no problem at all. We had a variety of food off the menu including Pizza, Mussels and Fish & Chips... all were cooked well. Will be back again soon. Thanks for the welcome.

Excellent breakfast friendly staff

First time there with friends, lovely friendly atmosphere, beautiful outlook over the estuary, excellent food at a very good price, will definitely be returning.

I’ve been living in Southend many years and eaten at the arches over a number of those years but have to say Cafe Nine is top of the spots .. great intimate venue with stunning river views. I was hosted by Jazz and Kayla who were both brilliant in their service and looking after me from start to finish (2 weeks on the trot now!) There is a great menu with lots of choice for those with big appetites to the pizzetes they offer from their stone baked oven served with salad and homemade coleslaw .. The portions are generous and very tasty well done chef. Great little wine and drinks menu and don’t forget delicious desserts. I’m soo happy you have come to the arches I’ll certainly be back with more friends soon. ☀️

Went here for a catch up Brunch with friends and children. The waitresses were happy to go off menu for the kids and they were very fussy children. I also had a veggie breakfast and they were happy to swap out eggs for veggie sausages as I can’t eat egg. Also the veggie sausages were of good quality and wernt just vegetables smashed together in the shape of a sausage, it did taste like meat replacement which was good. Hash browns were nice and crispy. Venue was on the smaller side as you guess so being located under arches and it was a hot day and we were seated next to the plastic “windows” and we tried to get the door proped open as it was like a greenhouse so just be wary if you go and get seated there on a hot day. All in all I would definitely come back again as the service and food were great.

Visited on Mothers day, what can I say, not only was the service superb the food was as well!!! the six of us all had different meals and ALL were fantastic. The staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We will all be visiting again VERY soon. If you ar in Southend and on th seafront wanting to eat.... this is the place ...trust me!!!

Enjoyed the food. Had an all day breakfast that was non greasey and had good sausages that had flavour. They also do half pizza with salad that was really good.

My first visit today. Ordered the vegetarian all-day breakfast. It was perfect. The best vegetarian sausages l've ever had (l've been a veggie for 32 years). They are also dog-friendly and serve a doggy breakfast and pupachino, so my pooch was well happy too. Staff are lovely, and it's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a nice view of the seafront. Popped in for an early evening meal and have to say it was spot on. A large cod fillet cooked to perfection and the largest portion of chips you could imagine. Thoroughly satisfying meal and good service. Well recommend!

I had small breakfast, well cooked and displayed. Everything was hot. My friend had scrambled eggs and salmon on toast. It was so good he didn't leave a thing . Service was 10/10 . Next time I'm taking the family.

Without really knowing the nearby similar, eateries, I'd say this is probably a cut above the average. Good imaginative menu that isn't just the stock fish 'n chip or burgers. Good quality, nicely presented and friendly service. I'd come here more often if it wasn't 60 miles from home! Two very satisfactory visits, sure to come back again.

I passed through the area whilst on an epic quest to visit every seaside and beachfront in the U.K. Stopped by Nine The Arches after wandering along the seafront looking for a hearty breakfast to keep me going After seeing the decor and layout of Nine The Arches I thought I would give it a go and found the full English to be the best quality breakfast for as long as I can remember Such a tasty, well cooked, quality breakfast with total quality ingredients, cooked to order and tasting fresh and delicious! The staff are the happiest friendliest people I’ve met on my travels so far, and extremely helpful with local knowledge, and they gave me a good insight into their lovely little place which is still very new I’m so glad they’ve opened and looked to bring a quality experience to the seafront here. They’ve definitely achieved their aims in that respect In short - highly recommended

The Captains Table We had lunch here and could not believe the large amount of food served, it was perfectly cooked and friendly served. This restaurant thoroughly comply with the Covid regulations, so much so that both the owners of the business have certificates on the wall to state this. Because of this, if you can't prove that your party are in the same family bubble, you will be refused the use of a party table. (This is in compliance with the Covid rules) You will be offered tables for two, as near as possible, to each other. The restaurant accepts well behaved Dogs in the canvased area. I fully recommend this restaurant and give it a full Five Star Rating.

Went here before the most recent lockdown with friends and the food really was excellent, especially the pizza. The best thing though is the friendly atmosphere and excellent service. No rushing to get us out either.
