A very good cafe offering the usual very good standard National Trust menu (sandwiches, baked potatoes, other snack meals and cakes (one reservation is, on the cake side, there could more choice for Gluten Free diets)), served by friendly, helpful staff. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and, a new innovation, there is now a room where dogs are welcome. A good place to drop into when you are walking round Chartwell.

Waited 10 mins for somebody to appear, then ordered scrambled eggs, didn’t have any !!!! Although it has a store of hundreds of eggs, but nobody is allowed to cook, so have to wait for them to be delivered in a package - health and safety i’m told. Why or why are they not intelligent enough to put a sticker over the sign , which would have saved me 20mins out of my working day

We have been going to this restaurant on Maidenhead since they opened, quite often. We had a break because we were out of town. Yesterday we went again ( was looking forward to this) and unfortunately we will not go there again. We sat at the table for about half an hour and no one came to take our order even though it was empty. Had to go to bar to order. When the food came to the table, one of the plates was about to fly out the window, luckily I caught it, this is how she was serving us. Extremely unpleasant and awkward waitress (the one with glasses). We ordered burgers. The beef one came uncooked, we requested the staff's attention and her reaction was: we leave it like that sometimes, to be red inside. but we can make you another one if you would like. I was in shock. How can you say that? You can get food prisoned😲by doing this. I was in shock. My chicken burger was extremely small, the fries were very oily and from the plate it looked like two strands of cabbage together. I always get thr same thing and never had a problem before . Was also looking forward to my food which was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Bacon was way too cooked, chicken was extremely small for a burger which cost me nearly 14£ and had it before,I knew how it should be. We thought of ordering dessert as well. at least that one should be good. For half an hour I sat with the plates on the table, untouched by anyone, while the restaurant was empty and another waitress was taking the order at another table (none of them approached ours at all ,all this time). In the end we went to eat dessert next door, because the service here is deplorable. Music was way too loud so we struggled to even understand each other, couldn't help but notice all waitresses were new there ,no familiar faces at all, none of them knew what they are doing and how to treat a customer, the one who served us had no skills whatsoever and very rude. I used to come here with a pleasure, not anymore . No personal here is making any sort if contact with you nit even when they are giving you the cutlery Such a disappointment! I used to love this place

Have had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner at the hotel restaurant and all were lovely. The staff at Frimley are simply the best, fun and friendly, big shout out to Matthew who was an amazing bar man on our first night and waiter when we dined and really made our stay great! For dinner, I ordered from the Indian menu, the prawn starter was so yummy and plenty of them. I had the chicken tikka masala for main and it tasted so authentic and lots of it! My husband had the ribeye steak for his main and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about, I’ve had the best experience in this restaurant all weekend!

Really disappointed. Food expensive foe what it was. The house special of fish n chips, was nothing special. Whilst fish itself was good, the batter wasn't particularly crispy and size wasn't big as you'd expect. Bright lights, no candles, furniture bit dated. Staff were lovely and helpful though and after several attempts to adjust the lighting,it didn't make any difference! Dessert was limited, badic 3 choices for ice cream, and it wasn't anything tasty, bland vanilla!

We chose a full English Breakfast at the Gatehouse Cafe and a coffee each after shopping in the garden centre. The service was prompt and attentive, the coffees were of a generous cup size and lovely and hot. The breakfast was beautifully cooked to order, hot, and of great quality. It was the best cooked breakfast I’ve had out for a very long time. The waiting staff were attentive to detail.. they brought marmalade quickly when requested and also went out of their way to bag me up some coffee grounds to take away which was very kind. Pricing was about right given the current economic crisis and the quality second to none. I would particularly like to thank the lady chef in the kitchen area who prepared and cooked our breakfasts last Sunday.

The cafe is situated right behind the main historic dockyard reception area and has a great view out towards HMS Warrior and Spinniker Tower. Although there’s a large restaurant further inside the dockyard, a number of other cafes are closed due to the current Covid situation but it’s quieter here as most visitors head straight on to the dockyard attractions. Not sure about opening times as it closed for a period in the afternoon whilst we were there - not sure if it was due to staffing or some other issue?

Stopped at this cafe for lunch. Very warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. We sat at a table and ordered food at the counter. I had the tuna melt panini & chips, washed down with a great cup of tea. The panini was filled to the brim with tuna and delicious melting cheese oozing out the sides. Served nice and hot. The chips were lovely and chunky. Very reasonably priced. Toilets nice and clean - all on one level. Plenty of tables inside and out. Although this cafe advertises bike nights, you should not be deterred if you don’t have a bike. We arrived in a car. The atmosphere outside was buzzing with friendly, relaxed bikers chatting, drinking and eating, The lovely cafe is also dog friendly - so even furry customers are welcomed 😁 The cakes & cookies ladened out in the display cabinet looked amazing too. We will definitely visit again.
