Returned to this lovely garden centre and was warmly welcomed into the restaurant,it was early lunchtime but there was a good buzz of others enjoying their food. There is a seasonal menu and wanting a fairly light lunch we opted for the mezze platter to share. The service is first class our waitress very friendly,we ordered a beer and glass of red wine to accompany the dish. The drinks and food arrived speedily and it was delicious, colourful, and beautifully presented. Our waitress returned to check everything was ok which of course it was.We had coffee afterwards then left.We were acknowledged by all the staff working there who cheerfully said Goodbye. This is a venue not to be missed,I noticed the lunch menu, they also do breakfast and whilst there at the weekend they were serving a beautiful afternoon tea to a group of ladies…I look forward to a return visit soon…Yours Stuart…

I bought a ginger cake from Knights Garden Centre in Godstone, Surrey yesterday. It was dry and rubbery and cost around £5.50 - so I’ll stick to plants from now on.

We were so looking forward to enjoying a get together over a Christmas afternoon tea and booked a few week’s prior. We were served by young, staff that asked us what we would like to drink and advised us that tea and americano coffee came with the booking, but anything different would be charged for - including a mint tea which we cancelled. The food came out and was presented on the usual three tiered stand, but the plates were no bigger than saucers! We had four, tiny finger sandwiches between two of us and had to cut them -so we had just a small square of each. Two mouthful sized sausage rolls completed the savoury course. Just the one plain scone each and a tiny mince pie accompanied the ‘festive’ cake selection, which comprised of a small piece of Christmas cake, lemon drizzle and a chocolate and ginger sponge. When we were asked if we would like refills for our drinks, which we did, we were told this would be at an extra charge! As we questioned this, the ‘manager’ was summoned and, as he arrived, was surprised that the tiny sandwiches were not correct and that the chef/kitchen staff were annoying him! Strange?! However, he did concede to give us free refills for the drinks. This was altogether a very mean and miserly experience, and we would certainly not recommend this as a festive afternoon tea. Such a shame, as I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and always had a good experience, although I have not been for some months . However, my friend then told me that she has recently visited the restaurant & that when she asked for hot water, they told her they would have to charge her for that! Merry Christmas! Needless to say, we won’t be rushing back.

I visited this very welcoming restaurant and coffee shop today which is within Knight’s Garden Centre,Godstone.I come here fairly often and am always welcomed warmly. The restaurant menu is varied and changes between seasons. My friends made their choices and I opted for dressed crab which seemed ideal on a summer’s day.It certainly didn’t disappoint and was delicious,it came with salad and bread and butter which were perfect.Out waitress came back and asked if everything was ok,the ambience here is perfect for any occasion.I would certainly have no hesitation to recommend this venue, whether for a snack lunch,a proper meal or it makes a perfect venue too for afternoon tea and a glass of fizz maybe, which I also enjoyed here recently… Thankyou for making a simple meeting of friends so enjoyable…Will be back soon… Yours Stuart…12/8/22…

Always a pleasure to return here,a warm welcome, very safe precautions to avoid the possibility Covid-19,we were escorted to a table by the window overlooking the very tempting plants outside, the tables are well spaced,a lady gave us paper menus and took our drinks order, she was very professional and friendly. My friend ordered Eggs Florentine and I ordered Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs. Our drinks arrived, and after a short time our food came. Both meals were very well presented and were delicious. After enjoying our brunch we ordered more hot drinks. The atmosphere and ambience here is always spot on,ensuring that the customer is made to feel at home and yet the professional service is apparent too. After enjoying everything it was time for the bill, there is no feeling of being rushed either in these strange times we find ourselves in at the moment. Met up with my daughter and 2 year old granddaughter for lunch and a shop around the garden centre. Wonderful lunch and service - proper giant prawns on sourdough with a really interesting great salad and chips for us. Highchair and children’s menu for the toddler (fish goujons, chips and peas for her). The staff were prompt, helpful and probably smiley under their masks. Terrific! Spent another 3 hours around the fantastically stocked garden centre in a glorious walled garden setting - knowledgeable staff, then parked our trolley and went back to the restaurant to sit outside with flat white coffees, caff and decaf - delicious Victoria sponge, gluten free vegan frangipani cake, and a babychino (that’s frothy milk served cold for safety and served with a straw!). Our toddler nearly turned blue trying to down it in one! What a lovely and perfect day out. We’ll be back - and the Rishi dishies were a bonus!

We first visited a week ago for a pre booked lunch. It was so good that we went back again today, and it was equally enjoyable. We have booked again for next week! Alex looked after us on both occasions, and was very professional, friendly and attentive and engaging. Last week most of us had the special , dressed crab salad, and today mostly different sandwiches with various breads and salads. I had prawns, which were very good. The service was amazing and he could have not done any more for us. We had the eat out scheme, which made it very good value for money, and the coffee was some of the best in the area.We all thank Alex and his team for their hospitality, and would recommend this restaurant either for a meal, a snack, or just a drink. Thank you very much. Christine and pals.

It's always a pleasure to return here as I did today,18th February 2020 for lunch with a friend.I had reserved a table and when we arrived we were greeted in a very friendly way and politely shown to our table, then asked politely if the table was ok.We were given menus and then asked what we would like to drink. When our drinks arrived we placed our order I opted for sea bass, which I would thoroughly recommend, and my friend had curry which she said was delicious too.Whilst waiting for our food we enjoyed the window table which gives a lovely view of the shrub area outside, the plants all looking in tip top condition. The ambience in this venue was buzzing with others enjoying their lunch too.The menu is very varied, there are light bites and full meals too.The only problem is what to choose!...Our food arrived and was beautifully presented on the plates and the quality of the meals were first class. Our waitress came back to check everything was ok,which of course it was.We didn't have room for dessert sadly,as the menu again was very tempting. We did have coffee and then it was time to go,we left with a feeling that we had been looked after so very well, and had enjoyed our food very much. The staff and Manager are always very welcoming, friendly and efficient.....can't wait to go back again....Thankyoui Stuart.....

Disabled parkingWas recommended the restaurant by close friends. So set of for lunch will my glorious nanny. Upon arrival I initially couldn’t see any disabled spots and thinking I was being silly I asked a member of staff. He then pointed at a spot close to the entrance but tight in between 2 other cars. How is this a disabled spot?! There was no way I could park up and safely get my Nan into a wheelchair as there was no way to open the door fully. So not having time to go anywhere else I ended up parking at the back of the car park where there enough space and then struggled to get her to the entrance because the car park is on a slope. Absolutely ridiculous and a real shame as I won’t be returning even though we had a fabulous lunch.

Have had breakfast here twice now but wont be coming again. First time ut was all very dry. Scrambled egg on dry toast was a dried out omelette! So boring! Obvously a lot of thought has gone into the design and appearance of this place but unfortunately it falls far short on customer service and quality of food. My peppermint tea was served in a small teapot which was heavily stained on the outside and our spoons dull and grubby. Dishwasher needs attention. Food, which was 1 x egg and bacon on toast and 1 x bacon sandwich took half hour to come we had long finished our drinks. The restaurant was only half full with 2 waitresses. How can a bacon sandwich go so wrong? The bread had been somehow heated and was very dried out and the crusts were too hard to eat. Both our bacon could have been cooked a bit more and flavour was strange.i complained to waitress and she offered to bring me slices of bread and butter but i asked for fresh sandwich to be made with unheated bread and hot bacon. After waiting another 20 minutes we asked for my sandwich. It turned up the same as before! The crusts were inedible! £5 that cost me! Yuck!Staff need to feed back better to the kitchen. In fact customer service was totally lacking. Training may help. Wont be returning poor value all round. Shame as its a lovely garden centre and the restaurant looks very appealing but definitely lets the side down. Taje a leaf out if Woodcote Nursery's book!

We waited over 30 minutes for a simple corned beef sandwich. The cooks were just standing about and we laughed as it took three of them to assemble a simple breakfast. In all seriousness this is not a cheap place to eat and the food is at best mediocre bit 30 minutes to butter two splices of bread and throw a slice of corned beef between is quite ridiculous. The management needs to sit down with the staff and explain their jobs depend on the customers satisfaction rather than them doing the public a favor by serving them. There were six of us and we won't be going back there. again

My friend and I went to the garden centre today to have a coffee and a bite to eat with her young daughter. Upon arrival my friends daughter was undecided about what she wanted to eat and we were keen to sit in the restaurant to sample their hot food. The manager allowed us to sit in the restaurant area despite us being undecided however one of the waitresses (before asking her manager) did make us aware that cold food would only be served in the cafe area. Again we did explain that we may eat from the restaurant which was why we were keen to sit there. We were seated and my friend made conversation with the waitress who she has met in the facility before. The conversation flowed nicely and we explained at the time that for now we would order a sandwich for my friends daughter and we would decide after what we would like. I ordered a mocha (which the waitress got wrong and had infact brought me a coffee, I decided not to complain as I was happy with either and didn’t want to make a fuss). As our conversation went on and time got away with us, my friends daughter didn’t like her sandwich so my friend and I shared it between us (we also had ordered some chips from the main menu). Because we ate the sandwich we decided not to order anymore food. After we had paid the waitress that took our order came over and told us that we had taken advantage and not to do it again. We were very confused as the waitress not once came over and asked if we wanted to order from the main menu infact she left us sitting for the duration and didn’t once come to clear our plates etc. One thing I must add is that the cafe area was full and the kitchen area only had a few customers and we pointed this out when we entered the facilities to make them aware that we were unable to sit in the cafe area anyway. My friend and I were very shocked at the rudeness of the waitress (I believe her name is Megan). I explained that we had ordered from the main menu and we had ordered some chips. Her response was ‘yes but it’s not a meal!!’ I didn’t realise that I had to order a full meal when I went to a restaurant and it was down to the staff there to demand what I ate! It was very strange how the waitress went from being very chatty and friendly to extremely rude and almost telling us off! She also did it in front of my friends child which I didn’t agree with. I deliberately didn’t say my piece out of respect for my friends daughter but was very annoyed at the way we had been treated and we also explained that the manager had allowed us to sit there in the first place. After spending money at this venue and still being treated the way we had today, I certainly won’t be going back there and I would urge anyone not to do the same. It was a huge disappointment and to top it off the sandwich was rubbish!!

I returned after last going in August 2018. We tried to have breakfast in the Walled Garden restaurant. Vegan options were still not available (I usually try for vegan as a guaranteed way to avoid meat and dairy) despite my complaint about the lack last time and the statement that vegan options are available, but managed to persuade them to do me dairy free scrambled eggs, which were OK but nothing to write home about. My husband enjoyed his full English but it was a bit pricey for what he got. Menu did not seem to have allergy information. Very disappointed

Called into this garden centre 'cafe' for coffee & a bite to eat - about 2 p.m. midweek. A chicken & bacon panini was £7 !. This was well overpriced against all other cafes we have been to. The flat white coffee came in a small cup - again overpriced for its size. On arriving home we noticed on the bill that a coffee refill was £1 - this should have been pointed out to us when ordering at the counter. There were only a couple of vacant tables in the 'cafe' section, and we were told to go into an area where we didn't particularly want to sit. There were a lot of vacant tables in the 'restaurant' section. It looks as thought Knights are trying to promote the 'restaurant' side instead of the 'cafe' side, where the general public who visit the garden centre just need a coffee & perhaps something to eat. There seems to be a lack of small tables for just two persons in this 'cafe' section. We had to make do with a table for four which hadn't been cleared away from the previous people ! Think management ought to visit the Woodcote Garden Centre ! It seems absolutely ridiculous to have a restaurant in a garden centre. We would have done better to have gone to Wetherspoons in Oxted !

The food soon arrived, cod in batter, chips, garden pea's, and mixed salad. Server asked if we would like any sauces, vinegar etc. which she swiftly fetched. The meal was plentiful and delicious, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We were too full for dessert, but our friends had Lemon Posset,

I visited the restaraunt last week, I have been coming to the garden centre for years and after seeing the new restaurant built a few years ago I never tried it. I finally got to and wish I had not. Came here with my sister, the decoration of the restaraunt is nice but that was the only thing. We were greater by a young girl, who was incredibly rude. She told us to follow her put our menus down and walked off. When she came to get our drinks order we were undecided and she rolled her eyes then did not come back for 10 minutes. When she came to get our order she was very unhelpful with questions and had a bad attitude. We asked for sauces when our food came but my sister forgot to order mayo. When the girl brought out ketchup we asked for mayo in which she replied, I’m not just your waitress make your minds up. Which was incredibly rude. I asked the waitress for her name and she asked why and wouldn’t say. I asked for her manager and she told me she was the manager which I found hard to believe. I asked another waitress what her name was and she told me it was Hannah. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaraunt and I will not be returning. If this is your example of management there is a serious issue. Would not recommend for this factor.

We both chose the wild mushroom risotto. It was served with a topping of rocket and parmesan. It was served hot and was truly delicious. However, the portion size for £12 was very small and whilst enjoying what I ate, I finished my lunch feeling hungry. They reported that the cream is frozen and defrosted however had no evidence of this. We aren’t at all unreasonable people, had our query be dealt with politely and in a helpful manner we would have been fine about the situation. Went for breakfast. My husband enjoyed his full English although it comes with only one egg. As a vegan I couldn't eat anything on the menu so asked for the humus sandwich from the cafe. I was told we were too early for sandwiches but when I pointed out that as a vegan their menu offered nothing the waitress went to ask the chef and they agreed to do one for me - and very good it was too. Staff were friendly, restaurant attractive - and the artificial flowers on the table prevented the worst of the hay fever symptoms. However, some recognition of vegans would be nice. Even vegetarians only seemed to have the option of egg on toast. I suggested that it wouldn't be difficult to offer mushrooms and tomato on toast as a vegan option, given that these form part of the main cooked breakfast. As someone else has suggested some vegetarian sausages would make sense in order to offer vegetarian full English

It's nice enough if you want a meal while shopping at the Garden Centre (which is five star as far as I'm concerned). But I felt that the actual restaurant was rather over-hyped and pretentious for a pretty average meal. I went for the panini and was at first told that I couldn't sit with my wife in the restaurant who wanted a main meal. The waitress had been given strict instructions that bread meals had to be eaten in the outer cafeteria area. However, the manager relented - not a huge sacrifice on their part as the place was fairly empty apart from a couple who seemed to be having the Christmas dinner and a young school boy who appeared to be the offspring of one of the members of staff. But I digress. My panini was quite enjoyable. My wife went for a beefburger, which was not great - I tried a bit. I suppose it was beef but it didn't have any flavour to speak of and was also a bit gristly. Not an entirely pleasant experience. The waitress was nice and the decor was quite peaceful. But I don't find myself pining to get back there. I would say that the prices were high for what was on offer.

The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is modern and on trend but still very well suited to a garden centre. It is always best to book to guarantee a table. The first time I ate here in April, I had plaice fillet on the bone with vegetables and sauteed potatoes and just recently I had a hot sausage roll, relish and salad with a side order of chips. The chips and relish both came out in glazed flower pots which looked really cute. Alcohol or soft drinks are available. I will certainly be back for another meal.

We've been twice now for breakfast at the café. We have sat outside on both occasions. Food and drinks have been great. Only let down by the uneccesry piped music.

The eating arrangements are very confusing. As you enter there is a cafe, the only food they seemed to be serving was cake, so we walked over to the restaurant entrance, where we met by a staff member, who said "table for two" when there was obviously three of us. She then picked up some menus and walked away from us, she then laid the menus on a table and walked away. We were just wanting a sandwich for lunch, but there were none on the menu. We could not attract a staff member's attention, so my friend went to find one to ask about sandwiches. He was told we were sitting at the wrong table for sandwiches (?). We then moved to a table where we could order sandwiches. We then had to ask for menus, and waited for someone yo come and take our order. After an interminable amount of time we again had to find a staff member, who then told us we had to go to the cafe counter to order sandwiches. The coffee was cold, as were the chips we ordered with our sandwiches, although both were changed when this was pointed out. We were certainly treated as second class citizens and will not visit again.

Hopped off the M25(J6), couldn't face any more motorway services food! This place just is a couple of mins down the road, what a find! The restaurant is smart and the food is tasty, a real oasis in the sunshine, will be returning soon

We were surprised by this place, obviously had plenty of investment in it and that shows. Really beautiful setting overlooking the plants they sell in the garden centre. The young waiting staff were friendly and welcoming (and patient as we're not quick off the mark these days!). We ate from the Lighter Bites menu which was ample for us. Freshly prepared Quinoa salad was a delight and the feta salad was excellent. We liked that the walled garden is something different to the normal garden centre cafe set-up. We will return to sample Sunday lunch there.

Have been using this garden centre for many years but won't be using restaurant again. We took friends and as it was a warm Saturday and the restaurant was busy, we asked to sit outside.

We have visited for either coffee and cake or lunch on many occasions and I have to say the food and location is fabulous however I do have one gripe...getting a reasonable cappuccino is a really hit and miss affair. I love my coffee and I am finding myself choosing to go to other venues because their coffee is better.

This is somewhere we head to every month or two for brunch at the weekend. The setting is nice, the food is good and the staff are super-friendly. They do a good roast on a Sunday too.

This is a new venture for Knights Garden Centre - The new build location has been contructed on a cost no problem basis. It is a large pleasant area. The young staff are very willing and helpful. The Menu and food are as expected. The prices are a bit to high - An egg and bacon sandwich [not presented that well] with a coffee was £7.40!?

A restaurant within a very good garden centre, has won awards for best innovate restaurant in the South East. Great atmosphere and a good chance of buying for your garden or home. The staff are so enthusiastic, and in the centre have a great deal of knowledge of what they are selling. Going again next week.!! Remember its always safer to book a table too.

They have recently spent a lot of money doing up this garden centre so now the restaurant is a good as any in the area. Cakes are superb and good choice of light snacks. Only five minutes from Junction 6 on the M25 so if you were thinking of stopping at one of the awful service areas, try this instead - you will not be disappointed.

Actually we have been here 3 times in the last 4 weeks but decided to have a full lunch, rather than cake and tea, last Thursday. The staff really seemed to be working as a team and it made all the difference. The order and delivery went smoothly, and a request for extras was soon dealt with. Our Ploughman's were very good but I guessed from the menu description I would need an extra mixed salad, as a side, and I wasn't mistaken - shame. The atmosphere can feel somewhat tight in busy periods as some tables are quite close together. We will no doubt be going again ....

We came here as a party of five as a last-minute decision on a Friday lunchtime. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the choice of food on the menu was impressive.

Very slow service. Some of our party had to wait a very long time for their meals and when the food arrived it was mediocre. Tried to tell manager at the end of our meal and the staff were very rude and defensive. Will not be visiting again sadly.

Went here for breakfast with my husband in the week arriving about 0930. We were the only ones here . The venue is very attractive with pleasant tables many overlooking the plant area. There was no one who appeared to be serving or greeting so eventually after about 10 minutes I made myself known to a member of staff in the adjacent coffee shop area. The menu was provided and there was a good range of choice. I had the eggs benedict and my husband had the full English. The food arrived very quickly and was very good. The portion size was just right for us.

A fairly new restuarant/coffee shop that has quite an extensive menu. Have had breakfast and lunch here and can't fault it. The manager, Alex is an asset as nothing is too much trouble to ensure everything runs smoothly. Fairly expensive but this is not an average garden centre coffee shop!

We have visited this restaurant several times, mainly for breakfast at the weekend and once for lunch, midweek. The service has always been prompt and very friendly. The staff seem happy and well-trained. The contemporary decor is spot on - furniture and lighting are great; I love the fabric on the bench seats!
