I came here with my Mum, for lunch on a weekday. I don’t live far from this beautiful spot and I’m incredibly pleased I’ve discovered it. Stunning little pub, very pleasant. Lovely staff, well organised. Beautiful menu delicious food. We sat in the back room, with a huge stunning mirror at the back and glass doors, I bet it’s fantastic in the summer. Only constructive criticism would be the toilets, they are a bit dingy, clean enough but just a big contrast to such a stunning pub. I would highly recommend improving this aspect of the pub to ensure a better experience for all guests. This will not put me off coming again, however it may others. It would vastly improve the experience if a little upgrade was implemented in the women’s toilet.

Just popped into this cozy country pub around 5p.m. following a walk. It was buzzing lovely atmosphere. We didn't eat but the food looked amazing xx

Recommended by a friend and glad we tried it out. Set in a lovely rural location with good parking and has that look of an old English pub. Nicely done out and particularly like the brass bar top that reflected onto the bar ceiling. Almost a 50/50 split for seating food and drinks but guess the dining area can be used for just sitting and having a decent beer. Staff friendly and engaging (makes a change) and helpful with drinks and food choice. Food; yes :) very good and by comparison to other places we have tried recently this one is almost at the top, very tasty, reasonable portions and therefore will definitely go back. Shame its not in walking distance for us.

Had a private party in their garden room this weekend, it was excellent. Buffet food was lovely - all the guests commented! The guy who looked after us was great, nothing was a problem and it all ran so smoothly. Highly recommend for events!

Had two dogs with me and my walking stick but staff expected me to walk to the garden, get a table number, walk back to order then walk back with drink, dogs and walking stick. ? And there was only two other people there 🙄 also food incredibly expensive

Friendly staff, tasty food. The chicken and bacon pie was excellent, the ribeye you could have cut with a spoon, two satisfied customers. Also one happy dog.

We had a lovely visit with friends and three exemplary well controlled dogs and sat in the sunny garden. Such a shame the gardeners chose this moment to cut the hedges and get the mower ready for us to leave! However…. back to the food. The steak and ale pies were undoubtedly the highlight of our lunch with the chicken caesar a close second. A big shout out to the very patient staff with me asking some odd questions. All in all a gem of a proper pub. And the ale was fantastic and local. Well done the Carpenters Arms

Return visit for lunch with 2 friends after an 18 month gap. Same excellent range of beers, including 1 gluten-free. 2 of us had fillet of sea bass with noodles and chinese veg, the other had a pie. Menu showed virtually all dished were, or could be made, gluten-free Food and service just as good as on previous visits We wiil return

A lovely, spacious and bright pub with good tasting food at good prices. The fish and chips was a magnificent sight when it arrived, the fish was delicious and crispy but the chips could have been better, more crisp and perhaps a different type of potato for better texture. The grilled mackerel was tasty and well balanced and big in size. The staff were really lovely and kind with a top notch service. A perfect place for lunch or dinner if you're around the area hiking and want a charming place to relax.

What an amazing place for our 20th Wedding anniversary party. We booked the garden room, patio and garden for our party and we had the best time. Eloise did everything to make our day brilliant. We decorated the room as we wanted and tables and chairs rearranged to make the best of the areas. We had amazing food which for us was a bbq. The chef was great at giving special attention to our guests with allergies and dietary requirements. Brilliant staff. We brought in a live band and again Eloise helped with making sure everything went smoothly dispite the weather not always being great. We will definitely be back. Thank to all

Quiet place selling only Titsey beers / so choice of Lagers was limited, but was ok. Service a bit slow even though not busy on a weekday. Did not try food- but menu looked good so we will be back.

We came here spontaneously on our first day of vacation. Nicely located pub, cozy atmosphere, away from busy roads. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was very good and we enjoyed it excellently.

The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and patient with the children. There's a good selection of food and drinks without being an overwhelming choice. Kids menu covers a lot of bases, with healthy options spread across it too.

We had the Garden Room for a wake. The food was very good and plenty off it for a very reasonable price. Staff were attentive and understanding...room just right. Would thoroughly recommend.

I hadn’t been to The Carpenters Arms for sometime, probably a couple of years, as my last visit was disappointing. So pleased I read the recent reviews and recommended to my friends we give it another chance. It was definitely the right decision. Spotlessly clean and nicely presented, staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Food and drinks menu extensive and I think all dietary requirements were covered. Food all freshly cooked and we all loved our meals and everything was served piping hot and presentation excellent. We will be eating at Tge Carpenters Arms again!🌟

We had a really lovely afternoon Lunch at the Carpenters Arms. They were so accommodating. My Mum uses a Wheelchair and ensured that she could easily access the Pub. Helpful and Friendly My Hubby and I have been there several times over the past few years, but it was the first time that we'd taken my Parents. They absolutely loved it.. The food and service was outstanding. They can't wait to return. Thank you once again for being so welcoming 😘

Hosted a family birthday lunch at The Carpenters Arms on a Saturday. We were seated in the Conservatory, which was full & very noisy. The food was good but what let the venue down was the Service. In the Conservatory, it seems Diners’ are “out of sight, out of mind”. When hosting you do not want to have to go looking for Staff but that is what happened to us. All it takes is a member of staff to regularly walk the Conservatory floor but for whatever reason this did not happen. Very disappointing, particularly given the size of the bill!

To be fair we were a walking group of 18 on a Limpsfield Circular on our way to murder Billy's Steak & Ale Pie in Limpsfield Legion but we always find it hard to walk past an inviting pub selling LARKINS ORIGINAL ale. Naughty for not pre-warning The Carpenters Staff but even despite me administering quantités of Honey Mead to the group on our walk we walked in. The Ladies running The Carpenters welcomed us as we apologised - we took 18 pints of either Larkins or Harvey's - none took Titsey Ale which should concern Titsey Brewery especially as they now own the place!! Anyway beautiful Harvey's & Larkins beers and great service from the Ladies who came round later outside to collect the glasses and wish us well on our way - thank you for welcoming us and your excellent service.

Had a wonderful lunch with family. Service and food was exceptional. Not your average pub grub, a good choice of dishes all very well presented, decent portions and very flavoursome. Worth paying just that little bit extra for. Served by an extremely friendly and professional waiter, who made us feel welcome and comfortable. We will definitely return.

I went with a large group for lunch. We had preordered and within a few minutes of our booked arrival we had been served. The food quality was outstanding. Everyone in the party was enthusing about the meal. Friendly helpful people serving. Thoroughly recommend this place.

We visited as a group of 2 families, we were made so welcome, staff were so attentive and great with the kids. Food was beautiful, no one could find a fault. Can’t wait to return.

This was the best Sunday roast I have had for a long time. The beef was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetable. The service was friendly and professional and very efficient. We will definitely be going back here. A nice gesture was to give all the ladies a bunch of daffodils for Mother's Day! If you didn't want Roast, there were plenty of other options.

Lovely part of the world, great place for a post-walk drink. Didn't eat there, but the local beer is very good, despite the lack of choice. Pretty pub, loads of outdoor space, restaurant smells great and the served food looks very good. Will return.

Pricey for a pub, so the food had to be good. The £19 lasagne tasted like a ready meal unfortunately and was also very small.

Really lovely pub. Met friends here for dinner. The pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied and carers to food allergies (for which I am very grateful). Staff were very pleasant and got the mix of being attentive and not always hovering just right. And the food was really tasty. I had the salmon with a red pepper sauce which was delicious. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

The owners seem to think they can turn a family friendly pub into the Fat Duck. Food decent but overpriced, £25 for a Sunday roast is madness. Style over substance.

Very nice pub. But why Titsey Brewery? Westerham is far superior product. Although nothing beats Harvey’s Best. Same happened at Limpsfield Golf Club. We’re forced to drink Titsey on tap and it’s unpleasant…

A much enjoyed return visit to the Carpenters Arms for family Sunday lunch. A delicious meal - Roast beef with amazing Yorkshire puddings, tender Lamb Shanks, the best roast potatoes ever and a good selection of vegetables. The fish and chips one of us had was also declared very tasty. The service we received from Robert was top notch, he made our visit great fun and nothing was too much trouble for him. Judging by the fullness of the whole pub and restaurant, we aren't the only ones who enjoyed it. We will return as soon as we can, and thank you for hosting Ziggy - it seems dogs are happily welcomed too!

Service was good - we had the head chef look after our table - so was the ideal person to ask about allergies etc! Food arrived promptly and was good. Would come back but would choose a different main (I had the sausages and mashed potato).

Three of us went here for lunch after a long walk. We received a friendly welcome. We had three different beers which were all excellent. Our meals were excellent, one had sea bass, two had pulled venison burger. The food was well presented and obviously cooked with considerable imagination and skill. The two ladies who looked after us were lovely and highly professional. We meet weekly at different pubs around Surrey and we all agreed this was right up there as one of the best pub lunches we’ve had. Although not cheap, you didn’t need to order any sides or extras (although there are plenty available) and actually we felt it was good value.

We had a cosy Friday afternoon late lunch as an early start to the weekend. We had an amazing cheese bacon burger, with homemade slaw and fries, followed by sticky toffee pudding, with toffee sauce and salted caramel ice cream. Decent wine list. We went for the Malbec Punto Alto 2022, Mendoza, Argentina to accompany our burgers

Great food and great service. We stopped in for an impromptu lunch after spending the morning walking in the area. Being a Saturday, we anticipated the pub would be crowded, so we called ahead first to make sure that we would be able to get a table for two and a dog. Staff were most helpful and accommodating and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The pub was indeed very busy but service was prompt and we did not have to wait too long for our food to arrive. We will definitely be making a visit again - perhaps during the week, when it's less busy.

Delightful venue and staff. Excellent menu with significant emphasis on gluten free options (v. rare !). Local ales of considerable quality. My game pie was the best pie I can recall EVER ! (and I eat a lot of pies !) The best sticky toffee pudding this side of Saturn. I can't believe I've lived so close and not been here for over forty years. Will be back much sooner.

The staff was lovely and very helpful, the food was excellent - exceeded our expectations! Everything was delicious and cooked with perfection - Tempura Prawns, House Burger and Fillet Of Salmon were spectacular! Best food we ever had and we know what we’re talking about as we’ve been to many restaurants in the UK and Europe. We can’t wait to come back to this amazing place and highly recommend it to everyone who wants to experience this beautiful place and taste the amazing food 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

If you're gluten-free then this is the place for you. The chef has clearly made it a mission to provide really good GF food and has succeeded. Both mains and desserts can be GF and you wouldn't know the difference. There's even some GF beers from the local Westerham Brewery. On top of that, all the food is excellent, good portions, served by helpful and friendly staff. Can't fault the pub at all.

Summary - Cosy gastropub Day / time - Sat eve Food - Ordered Italian bread and oil, and halloumi fries. Very nice. Noise - No music, ambient noise varied in conservatory area. Atmosphere - Cosy, very respectable. Decor - Clean and homely. Real candles. I liked it. Service - Good and prompt. Parking - We parked nearby, next to Limpsfield Common (nice walk) Price - We only got starters. Not too expensive, but expect gastro pub prices.

Fabulous local with a great community and lovely menu. Good for just a drink or a great dinner. Have had many memorable nights here

Excellent Sunday lunch sitting in the garden in the sun. Good quality food and drink and extremely efficient service.

I’ve been into this pub many times over the years as I walk my dog locally. Ever time I pop in for a quick refreshment after my walk I’m just shocked at the attitude of the staff. How does the manager get away with employing staff who have absolutely no customer service skills, not even a smile.. well probably as she has none of her own. She is rude and unfriendly and the same for her deputy I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile once. A local pub should be inviting and welcoming. If I was the owner of this pub I’d quickly remove the management

Absolutely amazing! We had an incredible lunch at the Carpenters Arms. The staff were incredible and so helpful. One member of our group suffers from Coeliac and the team were really helpful and considerate in talking us through the menu and options available. The food was absolutely outstanding. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. So happy we found this pub. Will 100% be returning.

Just stopped for a cold pint on our walk through the countryside. Very nice spot the food that was coming out to other tables looked very good indeed and th3 staff were friendly.

One off kents hidden gems situated in a small village in Oxted good parking in the car park or side off the road nice and bright inside good decor and great atmosphere staff friendly and helpful food fantastic lamb chops out of this world melt in your mouth good size beer garden About 2hrs and forty mins drive but we stayed at the b&b dkwm the road at Hurst Farm look it up you wont be disapointed we will be back

Nice pub, friendly staff, but Surrey prices. Visited again, still nice staff, but even more expensive. £19 for pie and mash. So Knightsbridge prices. Friday lunchtime we were the only diners unsurprisingly. Must get hedge fund managers at weekend

Lovely pub!! Massive outside garden + inside restaurant + outside dinner seating area. Fast service, high-quality food presented nicely and nice relaxed atmosphere. Only thing is it's quite pricey but we are post-pandemic.

Charming pub with beautiful and maintained garden. Customer service was great. We were out hiking so had brought a picnic and only consumed drinks. We wished we hadn't already eaten as the atmosphere and food looked amazing.
