The farm shop like most is expensive , but you get allegedly, free range meats of good quality locally sourced. I had chicken supremes they did taste good. Bought few other bits from the shop as a treat as I was flush that week

Attended the Oktoberfest event on 19/10. Was our third year running and it's such a shame to see how much it's declined each year. 1. Seating this year was a different layout, with the stage at the far end of the barn and tables in rows all the way down to the back. Not only does it make it impossible for people at the back (such as we were) to hear or see anything or even feel involved, but they've inexplicably gone and positioned a buffet station right down the middle of the barn, segregating the cheap seats even more. We chose to go with the £40 standard tickets as we didn't feel £60 for what should have been the same experience but with tables closer to the front and really slow table drinks service would be worth it. The website states that the earlier you book your tickets, the closer to the front you'll be... So having booked the very day that tickets went on sale, we were shocked to find ourselves nearly all the way back by the toilets! 2. Beer is obviously a big part of Oktoberfest, however, the serving staff couldn't pour a beer if their lives depended on it. Not only was bar staff painfully slow but the beers they were pouring had no head whatsoever as they weren't bothering to tilt the steins whilst pouring. Leading to a miserable looking beer with no head that tasted as though it had been mixed with a generous helping of line cleaner.... Disgusting!... Switched to mixed drinks after 2 steins. Nothing says Oktoberfest like Jack Daniels and Coke! 3. The last two years we've gone to this event, there has been an opening "oom pah band", the Flower Farm House band and some kind of headline act. 2 years ago, it was the Mariachis, last year it was an Elvis tribute. All very entertaining, however, this year, (I expect as a cost cutting measure) there was no headline act. Instead we were subjected to the AWFUL Flower Farm House band, with a lead singer who kept forgetting the lyrics, the tune and the tempo of all your favorite party songs! It was painful to (half) listen to. Needless to say, we left early, feeling mightily disappointed and certain that we won't be coming back for round 4 in 2025.

Went shopping here instead of the usual Priory Farm. Took and aubergine of the shelf and my hand went straight through it. Rotten to the core. Tried to communicate this to the girl behind the counter and she was unable to understand. The guy who sometimes does the car park intervened and got cloth and towel. Other veg was sub par and some were certainly past consume date. I’ll stick to Priory Farm and Veasey & Sons who have their pitch outside.

Fantastic farm shop and bistro. Popped by after a dog walk in nearby Marden park. Plenty of parking and outdoor and indoor seating for the bistro which is really pleasant inside with interesting film posters on the wall. Had a goats cheese panini and a bacon Brie and avocado panini and both came with a lovely tomato pepper and cucumber salad and some crisps. The shop was excellent too with some amazing meats including sausages, pork chops and marinated chickens. Great selection of fruits and veg, cheeses and pastries including marmite sausage rolls and huge pork pies. Polite and friendly staff. A really great find and would definitely recommend a visit.

Shocked and very disappointed in my local farm which I used to be always keen to support. There is a reason why they don't show the pricing for some produce and you will only find out if you specifically ask for a till receipt. Got home and found I had paid £5.80 for just 18 cherries which was 278g in weight and was just over 32p a cherry! So much for supporting local produce and farms. I even went back to ask if they had made a mistake and the lady at the till looked embarrassed and said no it was correct at £20.86 a kilo!! Shameless and far from transparent. This unfortunately feels like a consequence of the farm and shop growing in size and popularity over recent years and now having a wider audience, feel that they can get away with it and not worry about shocking some customers with the over pricing. Don't even get me started on nearly 80p an apple!

The waitress brought them their hot drinks but did not take away the dirty crockery and litter. About 10-15 minutes later they were served their breakfast but still the waitress didn't take the dirty crockery away. DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE! Attended today for a pre booked mothers day meal for 2 adults 1 child. In brief we waited 1hr 15min and left angry, hungry and disappointed! To start with we waited 50min before complaining - our order was 2x roast dinner and 1 kids meal! 2x Roast dinner arrived after 50min stone cold. The waitress then came to take away my roast dinner to give it to someone else in the restaurant!. Apparently wrong order?! My son had a children’s meal of a ham sandwich, crisps and carrots. It arrived after 1hr- 2 slices of unbuttered bread, ham slice slapped on, no crisps and a few carrot sticks. Their 2nd attempt to give us a roast dinner arrived and again stone cold! The potatoes seemed 2 days old, meat was stale and cold, Yorkshire pudding had about 50ml of oil sitting inside. Absolutely disgusting! We left with our deposit refunded but hungry and an awful Mother’s Day experience! We were also not the only ones who left due to this! Will NOT be returning. Shame as we are local resident’s too

We've learnt that one between my parents is more than enough for them, along with a side of chips. They don't skimp on the fillings of the paninis, and they are very filling. A shame. We went for breakfast because Blossom in Godstone was closed. To start they don’t offer any coffee other than filter coffee, which is £4. The freshly squeezed orange is nice but full of ice and again £4. My partner ordered a granola fruit bowl type deal and the menu stated “layers of crunchy granola with a berry compote”. What we actually got were oats instead of granola and jam instead of compote. This was £9 I had a breakfast which was fine. Nothing special but was £13 for bacon, egg, sausage, hash B and beans. Overall it was just a bit meh, quite expensive and not even that good. I also asked why they didn’t offer latte or cappuccinos ect, the waitress said they don’t offer this because they are concentrating on the food. Which is odd because the chefs make the food and not the coffee 🫣. The waitress just shrugged and didn’t really have an answer. Happy to speak to management if needs be

She said she would find out…..She didn’t find out, or come back to update us. I then went to the bar again (wait time now 40 mins) to just ask for a refund. I can only but echo (and add to) similar recent reviews. Charmless lack of welcome on arrival. Table sticky, wrong order taken. Eggs tasteless, bacon poor, beans poor and toast £1 for two slices of toast from a £1 loaf of supermarket bread. All of this despite having a bakery, butchers and chickens on site. No fresh orange juice. Advertising as a bistro, whilst having to order from counter and pay before delivery, is stretching things a bit. The flies are still there and they seemed more interested than the staff. As we left, we offered a thank you (not sure why) but we were ignored. The shop staff have always been friendly and helpful. Hard to imagine the 'bistro' staff can't do the same course or is it a separate business ? I hope someone there is reading these consistently poor reviews and acting on them but seems not.

Having used the farm shop many times we (a couple) decided to try the bistro for breakfast. Walked in and received no acknowledgment from either of the two people behind the counter. Asked if we could simply sit down at an open table and were told yes, so we proceeded to sit at one of the many available tables, two others were occupied, a group of four or five ladies and a table of three. Waited for 5 minutes, no one approached us so I got up returned to the counter which now had four staff doing various things. Asked for a menu and was told they had a large party in the other room so there were no menus available. No offer was made to find us one so I returned to my seat thinking they would be trying to resolve the issue asap. Diner at the table of three got up and went to ask for menus and one of the staff fetched three menus from the table of ladies who were now receiving their hot drinks. No menu given to us and five minutes later we walked out right past the same counter with no acknowledgment. Loads of flies circling in the restaurant which was off putting anyway, Will not be returning and will use the farm shop a few miles away.

It’s a very odd one! All farm shops are more expensive, it’s a given. They don’t have the buying power of supermarkets. They also champion & support smaller businesses by getting their produce on the shelf. So don’t expect cheap. However I do think £9 for two scotch eggs is a bit much. Yes they are big. But that’s a lot of money in anyone’s terms. But the good news is you don’t have to buy it. It is a choice. The Butchers looks beautiful, honestly it’s a lovely display which they clearly take pride in. The let down is the lack of cleanliness of this place. Flies are a problem everywhere & so are ants. But surely in a place where food is sold & also cooked & prepared for consumption? Surely the emphasis needs to be on clean? Yes it’s a Farm. But it’s also a food shop & an eatery. The Farm label does not excuse dirty. We saw flies crawling inside packs of scones. So we didn’t buy them. All the staff were polite. However I think they could do with support in the guise of cleaning the place up. They are working hard to make everything look good while hundreds of flies buzz around. Flies are attracted by rotten decaying things. Like bacteria. A start would be to scrub out the toilets, scrub the internal floors, eating tables & chairs. And keep them clean. Basic hygiene. The cafe staff look under pressure having little time to wipe a table down. Racing around all the time. Rustic is in vogue. Great. It doesn’t mean you have to give up on hygiene. The presence of security is a bit of a worry. I hope the staff do not experience back lash for the issues. The sad thing is, a good clean up. And a regime of clean would lift this place & put it where it should be. I hope they decide to get to & do it. We have been going there for years. But for now no.

I booked afternoon tea for 10 people for an after-funeral wake/reception yesterday. We arrived a little late (came from Crawley Crem) but staff were waiting to greet us and show us to a beautifully set up area under a canvas cover. It was a lovely setting and the weather was kind. Two picnic-type tables were laid with mismatched china, water and glasswear etc, with spares of napkins and more on another table, with a stack of seating pads too. We asked for two more comfortable chairs for elderly parents and they were brought quickly. The afternoon tea was gorgeous - beautiful large, light and warm scones on cake stands with cream/jam/beautiful strawberries. One scone each first, then the second one arrived warm from the oven. Tea pots and cafetieres were delivered and nothing was too much trouble. After tea, we all ordered a drink from the bar to toast our brother/son/friend on his way. Having been 'in the trade' for many years, I was delighted that the tea was so beautifully and kindly delivered. Would highly recommend The Flower Farm for such a family occasion. Needless to say I shall be in no hurry to return.

Lovely place and lovely food. However the online menu says Build your Breakfast. When I asked to not have mushrooms I was told they couldn't accommodate that. When I asked for scrambled eggs (on the menu) I was told they couldn't do that. Poached? They couldn't do that. Only fried. Any vegan sausages? No we don't do those. Not the best start to build a breakfast or accommodating the customer in a fresh preparation area. When the food eventually arrived it was tasty and well cooked. But more options in other places I'm afraid.

Not the cheapest venue. They have a grocery shop,- good quality but super expensive. The cafe, which was ok is now being upgraded to bistro, and coffee machine won't be there anymore -neither will I Goodbye Flower Farm.
