I ordered a toastie, chips and coffee, my order arrived minus the chips, I was told that I had not ordered chips, i said that I had and that the cashier clearly didn’t hear me so I ordered chips again… unfortunately I didn’t ask for a receipt, on checking my online banking the following day I see I’ve been charged twice for the chips!.. Shame because the coffee and chips were very good, toastie could’ve been better. I doubt many people would’ve been as generous to give 3 stars due to over paying

Our ‘on the road’ breakfast at the end of a relaxing week’s holiday based in Chislet. The BOGOF deal was a pleasant surprise and the breakfast passed the Quality Sausage Test. One or two items could have been hotter, but we went away happy and would definitely re-visit. Car park was three quarters full at 09:45, so it’s popular with the natives who were friendly!

Appealing menu. Nice space with tablecloths making it look attractive. Handed menus quickly and told about Specials board. Staff took our food order and drinks, we hadn't been shown drink list, they were friendly. Drinks arrived quickly but waited over an hour for food! We hadn't been told about any delay or wait. Food was tasty but we were so hungry it was eaten quickly. Enquired about wait for dessert and we're told kitchen wouldn't even look at the order for at least 15 minutes . It was ridiculous as we wanted cheesecake with a scoop of icecream which any member of staff could have prepared.

We stayed for two nights so we could go to Chartwell House and Knole. It's a fab place, lovely, quirky bar area. The staff are efficient and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was superb and if you stat there you have 20% off food and drink. Highly recommend this place.

A very good cafe offering the usual very good standard National Trust menu (sandwiches, baked potatoes, other snack meals and cakes (one reservation is, on the cake side, there could more choice for Gluten Free diets)), served by friendly, helpful staff. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and, a new innovation, there is now a room where dogs are welcome. A good place to drop into when you are walking round Chartwell.
