We went on Wednesday 18th December with family We live in Spain so we’re here for Xmas We’re very disappointed with food my wife and brother had pie and mash not even homemade I had rump steak it was only fit for my dogs Kids and my son had burgers again Iceland standard £270 later I felt robbed You need to up your game

Had a brilliant meal at the running horse with my family! The food was great and I was impressed with the service from Sasha, she really looked after us. Will be returning soon :)

My Father invited me at have a Christmas Lunch with Mum he and two old friends. The table was booked for 1.30pm and we were offered the Christmas Menu and the main menu. Please remember this is not fine dinning and not up to my normal expectations of Pub Food. The Christmas menu was £20.00 for two courses despite there being three on offer - so the waitress had to work out the actual costs - what not make it £25.00 for the 3 courses? I had the Sausage and Mash - potato was packet and the gravy was very nice with Onion and this added a nice taste to the meal. The starter was Carrot and Coriander soup with bread - warm - id have preferred garlic - but not offered. The sweet was homemade Ice cream - creamy - not sure it was homemade as it looked as if it came out of a mould. All in all service was good but the food let the place down again since my last visit with my parents. The atmosphere was cold as no heating seemed to me on - or very little. My legs were cold by the time we left. (Mum and Dad are in their 80s) Not a good experience

Not dog friendly having been described on sites as such. I left my pint as was told no dogs inside, and will never be back. Wish there was an option for a lower review.

Amazing place. Food exceptional. Service great, reasonable prices, very friendly accommodating staff. The simgapore sling cocktails were amazing and the bloody Mary's were perfect. I can recommend the fish pie and the steak and ale pie. Plentiful portions and delicious. Surroundings great. Well deserved 10/10. Well done guys, loved everything about it.

A great pub, very lively, great staff and does Christmas Eve to the max

Stayed hear overnight in the campervan which was excellent. Had a meal in the pub. A little disappointed with the food menu.

A nice pub with lovely staff. We went for Sunday lunch. The roast pork was really good as was the roast turkey. They have a reasonable selection of draught beers and lagers and a good bottle selection including some 0% options.

Been Using the swan for nearly twenty years it's allways been our local and we evan used it before we lived the the area it did go down a bit under the last owner but I'm glad to say it's back to its usual best with the new owner

Really nice and affordable hotel. Nice vibe and friendly staff. Near the centre and also near the start of some beautiful walks. Recomended!

Stunning atmosphere, stunning staff, and wonderful selection of beers from around the world

Great experience.Booked lunch for 4 and 2 large dogs following walk from RSPB centre. Excellent proper pub venison pie with all the trimmings. Service fantastic and even bought some kitchen left over turkey for our dogs. Great atmosphere and very good value for money. We had a great visit and hope to return soon
