Absolutely stunning.great food friendly staff .

Booked another Sunday lunch here at the Wotton Hatch, and the team continue to look after us like experts - the roast (sirloin of beef) was fresh well portioned and an amazing yorkie with unlimited gravy! We shared a sticky toffee between us and was just delightful be back again very soon.

I write this review with great reluctance but it is only fair to warn others thinking of dining here. The food is nicely presented but portions are small, expensive and cooked badly; some items are undercooked and tough or presenting a health hazard and others severely over-cooked, again tough or near burnt. Some form of oil is over-used making dishes very greasy. Ingredients served are not necessarily as advertised. Bar staff struggle to deal with requests, asking repeatedly as they /he taps orders into a pad. Water requested never arrives. Mine host eats his lunch in the restaurant. The place smelled strongly of fish when we arrived. The place is scruffy with stained and damaged walls. Steaks are extortionately priced.

Had a lovely dinner on Saturday and a lovely time great service with a lovely waitress named Emily very helpful and kind. Would definitely go again

Celebrating my sisters birthday with 4 vegetarians. Had to have a few starters both vegetarian options off the menus. Very disappointing ! Had to have bread and cheese.

Enjoyable table booked for 8 arrived 7pm allowed to have meal cod chips have to say very small cod piece BUT really tasty If passing would I stop by YES

Elton was our waiter and was super - friendly and professional. He made up for some of the shortfalls on the food - missing items, poor pizza, salad straight from fridge

Lovely pub with a nice dining room and excellent menu choices. We had the lamb rump and burger, and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Friday Evening Dinner - We had a great evening. Lovely food and very good service. Scallops, Burger, Creme Brûlée and coffee - yum!

Came on a Friday night with my girlfriend at short notice. Food was excellent, with a really broad and varied menu, and the atmosphere was good too. Elton was the server and was both efficient and friendly. Definitely coming back as this was better than the average Surrey hills pub food by a long way and also very well priced. Oh and the cocktail list was extensive and excellent too.

Good value for money with exceptional food.

We visited without a reservation on a wet afternoon and were made very welcome by the friendly staff. The food was excellent and the celeriac "steak" is an interesting idea from the chef to offer something a bit more exciting than pasta for vegans. We would certainly visit again when we are in the area.

Visited at the end of March for my wife’s birthday and really not impressed. One of the waitresses was borderline rude with her manner just going through the motions. I don’t mind paying above average for food if especially nice but this is just expensive but very average with really small portions. The cheese and biscuits is way way overpriced for what is supplied and the burger my son had was very poor . I feel a lot of these restaurants now do fine dining without the quality as an excuse to over charge.

Such a wonderful pub, a must to visit! The staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, I especially loved the prawns, which was one of the chef’s specials. We had such a lovely evening there and will most certainly be back.

We stayed at the local hotel and walked to this pub for lunch. The staff were so friendly and th food was good so we thought we would come for dinner. Ended up coming the next night as well. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly, welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Great selection of food for lunch and dinner! Highly recommend!!!

The staff were great, we gave them a bit of a laugh when we tried to get in the wrong door! Food was excellent and staff lovely.

My scallops were cooked perfectly and the crackling on the pork belly was done to perfection. Have been going here nearly 7 years on a regular basis and never had a bad meal or had poor service.

We love this place. Great hideaway, 40 mins for london. Beautiful hotel, lovely grounds and great hospitality. We be back!

We visited for Mother's Day lunch, we had the set menu - plenty of choices and food was fantastic. We all had roasts and all were delicious, service was very good our waitress was very attentive and provided a great customer experience.

This was a takeout meal which is a good service to have.. However unfortunately my favourite pizza the Diablo which I have generally enjoyed over the years has now become something seemingly overpowered by a sweet Korean type chilli sauce with a distinct lack of the jalapeños it used to have ! May not order again.

Wow!! What an amazing place nearly renovated- beautifully designed and spacious and airy! And what amazing food!! We had a set lunch menu and everything was just perfect!! Bravo to the chef!! Fish and chips were perfect and crispy, pork belly tender and pork crackling the best I’ve ever had!!! Chicken pie amazing too! Brownie was to die for! Thank you so much!! Highly recommended! 🙏❤️

Bar service was a little slow- only one team member on for what was a very busy afternoon near Christmas. No available tables as all reserved (however no one sat there in the hour we were there).

We were all travelling from a distance so timing was let down by trains or traffic. Completely welcoming even with chaos of getting balloons up last minute etc and made so much easier by all the staff who were so attentive and all food was fabulous and came out all at same time, hats off to you all. 100% will be booking again for family get together. Had a very nice visit here with my family. The food was excellent (I recommend the dirty burger) and at reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and it’s in the middle of the countryside. In the end they even let us keep a beer glass for free! Will definitely visit here again.

I had a wonderful meal here for my 30th birthday. I was served by a very charming chap called Fin and given some great cocktails by a Ryan the bartender. Paul was very welcoming and the food was excellent.

Enjoyed a good lunch with a friend. Even though there were 2 birthday parties going on, the service was prompt. The waitress warned us there may be a little wait for our main course, but it came out fairly quick. Food was well cooked and will certainly be back.

We stayed at a local hotel and on the way home we visited Wooton Hatch for Sunday lunch today and can honestly say this was the best meal out we have had in a long time! My husband has the ribeye steak and I had the rack of lamb. Our daughter had pizza. For dessert my husband had trio of cheesecake and I had the chocolate bomb. Clean plates all round! Staff were so lovely and attentive. Food was outstanding! Will definitely come back again!

What a great country pub - we booked and opted for the valentines set menu to treat the other half - the menu was similar to their all day menu but the food was tasty, and the staff were fab - the whole experience definitely made us both want to return

Loved our night away here. It was my 40th Birthday pressie from my other half and we were both very impressed. The food was amazing, both for dinner and breakfast. Service was good and the place was lovely.

Our second visit here in the last two months. Starters were well presented & tasty. We shared a pizza and I would give it 1/10. We ordered a different one to last time because it was bad previously. A thin undercooked base, no cheese, we asked for extra pepperoni there were five slices between the three of us. We complained and yes they willingly took it off the bill but will definitely not be eating here ever again.

Isaac was brilliant with his service and the food was of a high quality . I do wish there was a voucher discount system though .

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here with a big group of friends. We did the pre order which worked really well & the food came very soon after we sat down which was great as we were hungry! We were served by Finn who did a great job looking after us . The roasts were huge & delicious - and my wife loved her veggie roast - said was the best she’d had in a while - great place. We also had three dogs with us & they liked it too!

Booked for 4 for dinner. Given nice table, helpful staff. Excellent menu made choice difficult. 4 different mains all described as delicious. However, no draft beer! Second time that happened at this pub!!

A beautiful place to relax whether you go for just a coffee, a bar snack or staying in the hotel. The staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. We love going here.

Beautiful pub, lovely staff and brilliant food, I had the scallops and a side of mash potatoes the only thing I would say is the "diced" tomatoes where quite rough and needed peeling otherwise it was perfect, I will be back!

Stopped for coffee along the A25. Disappointed that it was from a coffee machine. It wasn't bad but to get the Spoonies offering for double the price was a surprise. Lounge was reasonable and comfy for a driving break but gents loo was in need of a refurbishment. Will certainly go again but at least know what to expect now.

Serves roasts until 8PM on Sunday. Unheard of out in the country. You will need to book as it's invariably packed, and deservedly so.

Ok pub food, limited choice of beer

Came with a group of friends after a dog walk.Five of us ordered soup...it arrived luke warm and not even half a bowl with two tiny pieces of bread...it was taken away and reheated..when it was returned, it appeared there was even less in the bowl! Definitely disappointing for £7.50! I did advised the waitress to feed back to the chef but there was no follow-up from anyone.

It was a busy Sunday lunchtime and every table was taken, putting plenty of pressure on staff. Finn was the person tasked with looking after our (not always easy) group, and he did so with real professionalism, humour and kindness.

We have been to this venue several times over last few years. Very nicely cooked food, especially the various roasts. Good choice of dishes but perhaps could include one or two more adventurous ones. Reasonable value for money given that nothing today is cheap. Considerate...

Great venue, stopped off for lunch today, the team were welcoming, friendly, and efficient, food was timely and well presented. The whale of a fish was tasty as was the crumble with lashings of custard. Will be back soon.

Christmas Day Lunch was a disgrace. When my partner and I arrived we were taken to our table and, shortly after ordering drinks, our first course - as per the menu, an amuse-bouche, - was plonked down unceremoniously and without explanation. It was a tiny flat dish of (mainly) cold, grey, soggy mushrooms which looked as though they had just been defrosted. They were chewy and tasteless. Turkey main consisted of badly carved slabs of meat dumped on the plate, glutinous fat attached, and underneath the meat I found as a bonus an extra stringy, greasy piece of fat all on its own. Also on the plate were greasy, soggy, cold roast potatoes which looked as though they’d been sitting around for some time. The side vegetables were Brussels sprouts as per the menu: one small one for each of us, rock hard thus inedible, and definitely not sautéed. There were two greasy roast carrots and two similarly greasy parsnips. There were also some unidentifiable, tasteless shredded “greens”. That was it. My partner’s lamb was almost impossible to cut into - even with a steak knife and it was sitting on a block of glutinous, tasteless and cold mashed potato which was described as ‘dauphinois’. The food was cold to lukewarm, the dishes they were in - and our plates - were cold. Everything was tinged with grease. Puddings: pavlova was a mound of bought-in meringue, a handful of berries and juice and a lot of bought-in squirty spray cream. It was tasteless and not restaurant-worthy. Christmas pudding was a cold, rectangular slab surrounded by a sea of lukewarm custard - reminiscent of school dinners. It had no indulgent luxury about it whatsoever. And little taste. I could continue….service, crackers with a Charades game to play (at the table?), frozen, rock hard truffles, greasy, off-white, fatty pigs in blankets, gravy poured over food, an extra charge for coffee..….. It was very upsetting, especially since this was my partner’s Christmas treat for me. I don’t eat out that often. But I have been eating at the Wotton Hatch - by choice - ever since I arrived in Dorking around eight years ago. I had recommended the Hatch to my partner who doesn’t know the area or the pubs as well as me. I was ashamed and upset that we had the experience we had. I have excellent memories of the place and its food. But I cannot ever see myself wanting to go back based on this Christmas Day experience. And will not be recommending others to give it a go. What a shame and what a waste of its wonderful setting which deserves better.

No atmosphere no Xmas music mediocre food left feeling hungry And a £51 service charge that I was un aware of when booking so 5 drinks came to over £ 74 ( all soft drinks ) !!! My lemon sole was on the bone and kept getting mouth full of bones !!!! And that amuse bouche was horrible to look and tasted awful !!!

My Xmas Dinner with my partner was in parts inedible. The rest, excluding the starter, was tasteless and mass produced. This was the first time we had eaten out on Xmas day and its likely to be the last. I felt unwell for 24 hours afterwards. The staff were efficient and pleasant but, to use an old expression, the price charged was daylight robbery. The only reason I did not complain at the time was to avoid anyone also eating having their Xmas meal ruined. An improvement would be to have good quality fresh ingredients cooked to a much higher standard. When my partner asked for gravy to be served separately she was politely told the turkey came with it already poured on! Shades of Fawley Towers gourmet night with guests being told the menu couldn't be altered as chef had just opened the tin. All in all a two out of ten experience when it could so easily have been so much better...and one granite like sprout each...I'm not a great lover but...oh and the meal ending truffles were permafrosted and almost smashed my partners teeth as she attempted to bite into them. In fact they were still inedible 20 mins later. Feel free to get back in touch if you would like any further feedback but I think that's probably enough for you to digest for now...something which I struggled to do for some time after leaving the premises.

Lovely food, and great service from Sammy! Such a lovely cosy country pub, there’s a ton to chose from on this area and the Hatch is part of a chain but you’re more than likely to get a last minute table.

Came for the Christmas menu with my family - the food was superb and the friendly attentive service was second to none. Whilst we enjoyed the traditional adult menu - our daughter was able to choose from the well thought out children's menu - so...

Had a lovely meal this evening, pub looks fantastic with a nice and cosy fireplace. Good recommendations were made by Isaac who served us. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We had a very pleasant evening with friends at The Wotten Hatch. We had sharing starters, which were delicious, followed by fantastic tempura battered fish and great chips, and the other 2 meals were the amazing looking steak pies. I’ve never seen a pub/ restaurant...

Wonderful warm welcome after a breezy walk & fab tea & cake options! Thank you so much for the delicious lemon & blueberry polenta cake which was so much posher than we were expecting! It was a great visit & we hope to do it again soon. What a beautiful pub!!

Excellent visit, once again!! The staff and manager of this pub are excellent. They communicate with you, don’t get stressed, and deliver pre ordered meals to large groups on time and exactly as requested :) The food is soooo yummyyyy They are suuuuper dog friendly...

Came in for the first time on Sunday to try somewhere new for Sunday lunch me and my partner both have allergies and the experience we had at the Wotton hatch was exceptional from the barman Ryan so attentive and caring to our needs and dietary requirements cannot praise the young man enough the food arrived quickly and was amazing will definitely be coming back

Food was excellent, i had the fish and chips which was recommended to me by isaac whom was very polite and patient. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming.
