Great Sunday lunch, big thank you to Gabbie who was wonderful!

The food was terrible and served by a robot pretending to be friendly to smile at you to be kind etc. but just repeating like a parrot the same thing to every one with no heart and soul. The food tastes like fast food and the question I was asking myself: can it be microwaved?

Great food, had the pie and my wife had the chicken burger - both were excellent, as were the starters and desserts. Friendly service, would thoroughly recommend.

Big group of us went for Sunday lunch/dinner. The service was brilliant really quick, the food was tasty and surprisingly hot given the size of the group and all came out at the same time. Really impressed!

Absolutely delicious food. All 6 of us loved it. Starters, mains and deserts all lovely. They were helpful with my fussy son too. The only reason I gave 4 was because on our booking due to a one of our party being disabled, we asked if we could have a quiet corner. The table was fine but then a quite noisy group was put right next to us despite a very empty restaurant. I can't comment how the service would be on a busy day, but it was all brilliant today. Very good Sunday lunch. Vegetables with the various roasts were cooked well. Nothing felt tired. Fresh and plentiful. Between the four of us we had lamb, beef, pork and a vegetarian option that satisfied us all respectively. Lots of space between tables so it didn't feel over crowded. An open fireplace near the bar.

We had the Sunday roast trio which has chicken, pork belly, and roast beef with all the traditional vegetables. Then we had the sticky toffee pudding and finally some good cocktails. This is a great option within walking distance to the Wotton House hotel.

What a lovely country pub! We had to be in the area and booked lunch the night before and they only had an early slot for lunch left open, but what a treat, the sunday roast is pretty much right up there with the best pub roasts i've had and i have had a few.All the staff were very friendly and the manager made sure everything was ticking along nicely, she was definately in charge and was a credit to the pub.Food was on point and cooked perfectly and the puds were amazing especially the toffee and rum pudding was delicious and light,will definately revisit next time we are in the area.

Nice lunch with very good service

I had a bad experience of far too much saffron used in the sea bass, made me and my wife quite ill. Hopefully this was just a one off mishap, but won't be going back soon :-(

The staff were very professional, I only wanted a small portion so I was given the children’s menu and it was delicious, my partner had the pork belly which was also excellent, so well presented , the atmosphere was very good and the restaurant itself very clean and well presented. Top marks would certainly recommend it

I’ve come here twice now and each time has been more pleasant than the last. The food is outstanding and the staff (namely Gabbie and Claire) have gone above and beyond to give attentive and genuine customer service. The tasty food compliments the calm and inviting environment. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough!!

I came here at the weekend on a nice sunny day. It was heaving!!! But I guess that’s the price you have to pay for an amazing Sunday lunch. Clearly everyone wanted a bit! I had a cod dish that was absolutely delicious suggested to me by my server. A very efficient member of staff, experienced and accommodating. (If I remember correctly his name is Jensen). Would fully recommend to anyone wanting a nice Sunday meal with the family!

Came here to celebrate a family birthday meal. We had a lovely time and great food, I would recommend the pie and mash and a bottle of Malbec. The service was great, and everyone we talked to was happy. Would go back again.

The manager here is disgraceful, today he ejected a family with a young girl because her shoes were making a noise on the floor. Utterly disgraceful behaviour, the manager threatened to the ring the police on the family when he became tongue tied after being confronted

Great food, service and location.

Called in for an impromtu lunch and as ever doesn't disappoint! We opted for the set lunch menu, squid and goats cheese salad to start, a steak and a chicken sandwich both with fries for mains , great value a fab setting and as ever wonderful service from the team.

The sign of a good pub is being busy on a Tuesday lunchtime and when we visited this week, the pub was packed both inside and out. Lunch was delicious and service was as good as ever - we will continue to frequent this pub, as never had a bad experience yet.

The other half and I stopped off for a bite to eat and yet again we weren’t disappointed friendly welcoming service for a fab team and the food was delicious and timely - all in all a great experience

It has been many years since were last here. It was a quiet night so not much atmosphere. Hard floors, no tablecloths and no curtains meant that even though it was not busy it was very noisy, and frankly difficult not to overhear other diners' conversations. Interesting menu and the food was OK. Service was good. Parking good too.

Lovely decor pub, done up nice with cute furniture. Nice to have the option to sit outside, the restaurant or bar. Lovely staff although seemed a little short staffed but very attentive and happy to help. Food come out in great time and we didn't have to wait long. Typical pub but with a twist on all the food. I also had a mojito mocktail that was yummy. I am veggie and was pleased to have a few options. The cheese truffle doughnuts could have been done with a few little dips. The hummus starter was yummy. My husband had a steak pie and said it was good. Over all I would go back. We did notice some very difficult customers that need to remember the staff are human and doing their best and it is a pub not a fancy restaurant so if you're a grump go elsewhere.

Called in on the way to silent pool - lunch was buzzing and as ever we were welcomed like old friends - we both enjoyed the two course set menu whilst enjoying the sunshine in the garden A pleasure as ever and long may places like this continue to buck the national trend with attentive staff great value for money dishes which is obviously working based on how many people who were having a midweek lunch!

Enjoyed a delicious sunday lunch here last week. The service was excellent and very quick. We sat outside to enjoy the sunshine although it was slightly marred by the constant traffic whizzing past us. I don't think that would stop me from visiting again but I would probably sit inside lol.

Great little pub. The young barman could smile more, not very welcoming, slamming the drinks down - so hard he even broke the wine glass! £11 for a glass of wine is a bit steep!

Great pub in a lovely location. Couple of pints with a pizza, cider ice cold and the food piping hot. Sat outside as the weather was lovely. What a great way to spend a Friday afternoon

Visited after a friend recommended the pub, it was busy for a weekday lunchtime which can only be a good sign, food was cooked perfectly - I enjoyed the salad with chicken breast and my other half enjoyed a whale of a fish with chunky chips and tartar sauce - we finished off by sharing a chocolate brownie - staff were lovely and we will be back next time to enjoy a cocktail in the sun

This was to be our last dinner in England after a wonderful 3 week holiday, it was Sunday and we were staying next door at Wotton house so I booked a table and looked forward to a nice Sunday Roast. When I booked I made sure to read through the Sunday roast section of the web page to make sure that it was available all day and into the evening. So imagine our disappointment that when we went to order the sirloin beef roast dinner at 6pm that they were out of it, and would we like pork or chicken? Hm, could you give us a minute to decide , okay so we hail over the server and both order the Pork roast, hmm, oh, sorry we are out of that as well, as a matter of fact we are out of all the Sunday roast completely. Hmm, why didn’t tell us that 3 mins ago, well be before we send you away what else are you out of? I must have scared the teenage server because after looking over the menu for the 3rd time he kept avoiding my eye and sent what I think was the older head server/ manager. Ended up ordering chicken burger: coleslaw made the chicken coating soggy, and the dirty burger. Burger comes, no crispy bacon. After a few trying to catch the server’s eye I has to get up and ask for the bacon in my burger (it ended up not really crispy, actually sort of barely cooked-raw). The older server /manager did comp my dinner for all our disappointments so that was a plus/good customer service. I’m sure this place is a nice restaurant and we just hit in on a bad day, but I just wish they would say on their web site that Sundays Roast dinner may run out and it’s best to come in before 4-5pm for best availability.

Nice venue and scenic. However food is charged at gastro pub prices but distinctly average. Sunday roast very mediocre. Tastes reheated and also very little gravy.

My wife and I live locally. This is one of our favourites. We are in our 50’s. It is Surrey so you will pay Surrey prices but no more than any other local pub.

Stopped off on the way home for a quick bite to eat. Food delicious with good size portions. Think we will be staying for more.

Nice place but disappointing veggie burger. This is another pub that has gone down the route of using tasteless "plant based" burgers for the veggie option. There is so much that could be done with actual vegetables and beans. Why use these horrid textured pretend meat things that taste of nothing?

The 3 starts are for the service and atmosphere only unfortunately. The staff were brilliant, very efficient and friendly. Sadly the food has gone down hill. The dirty burger used to be the best thing on the menu (for me anyway) it was so tasty I would come back just for that. As was the vegan burger for my wife. But now they must have changed the supplier and or the chief. The meat tastes like a cheaper alternative and the veggie burger is smaller and less plump. But the price has gone up, £19.25 for the beef burger and £16.25 for the veggie burger. I wouldn't mind paying this for the original burgers but for this food, it's definitely not worth it. (And they didn't have ketchup) Such a shame as we would come here a lot.

Went here for lunch and was very disappointed in the quality and cost of the food. Paid £39 for two for lunch. Had a salad, a steak sandwich and halloumi fries. Salad was mostly raw red cabbage with no dressing, some rock hard croutons and a couple of slices of tomato. Could not eat it all as it was so dry. When I complained I was told they would pass on my comments to the chef. Not value for money at all. Coupled with the fact that a pint and a shandy cost nearly £14 and you have a total rip off. Will not be back.

Booked another Sunday lunch here at the Wotton Hatch, and the team continue to look after us like experts - the roast (sirloin of beef) was fresh well portioned and an amazing yorkie with unlimited gravy! We shared a sticky toffee between us and was just delightful be back again very soon.

I write this review with great reluctance but it is only fair to warn others thinking of dining here. The food is nicely presented but portions are small, expensive and cooked badly; some items are undercooked and tough or presenting a health hazard and others severely over-cooked, again tough or near burnt. Some form of oil is over-used making dishes very greasy. Ingredients served are not necessarily as advertised. Bar staff struggle to deal with requests, asking repeatedly as they /he taps orders into a pad. Water requested never arrives. Mine host eats his lunch in the restaurant. The place smelled strongly of fish when we arrived. The place is scruffy with stained and damaged walls. Steaks are extortionately priced.

Had a lovely dinner on Saturday and a lovely time great service with a lovely waitress named Emily very helpful and kind. Would definitely go again

Celebrating my sisters birthday with 4 vegetarians. Had to have a few starters both vegetarian options off the menus. Very disappointing ! Had to have bread and cheese.

Enjoyable table booked for 8 arrived 7pm allowed to have meal cod chips have to say very small cod piece BUT really tasty If passing would I stop by YES

Elton was our waiter and was super - friendly and professional. He made up for some of the shortfalls on the food - missing items, poor pizza, salad straight from fridge

Lovely pub with a nice dining room and excellent menu choices. We had the lamb rump and burger, and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Came on a Friday night with my girlfriend at short notice. Food was excellent, with a really broad and varied menu, and the atmosphere was good too. Elton was the server and was both efficient and friendly. Definitely coming back as this was better than the average Surrey hills pub food by a long way and also very well priced. Oh and the cocktail list was extensive and excellent too.

Friday Evening Dinner - We had a great evening. Lovely food and very good service. Scallops, Burger, Creme Brûlée and coffee - yum!

Good value for money with exceptional food.

We visited without a reservation on a wet afternoon and were made very welcome by the friendly staff. The food was excellent and the celeriac "steak" is an interesting idea from the chef to offer something a bit more exciting than pasta for vegans. We would certainly visit again when we are in the area.

Visited at the end of March for my wife’s birthday and really not impressed. One of the waitresses was borderline rude with her manner just going through the motions. I don’t mind paying above average for food if especially nice but this is just expensive but very average with really small portions. The cheese and biscuits is way way overpriced for what is supplied and the burger my son had was very poor . I feel a lot of these restaurants now do fine dining without the quality as an excuse to over charge.
