Wimpy in Mole Valley

Visited on a while whilst in Littlehampton. We were a party of 13 so pretty large and upon trying to find seating we weren’t able to and were walking out when a member of staff came up to us to say she would have tables free in 5 minutes which meant we ended up waiting and enjoying a nice meal. Very proactive if the staff

My favourite place to eat in Dorking very good quality food and service,I have always been a fan of wimpy.i hope they can find a buyer and keep the restaurant open you don't see many w impy any more.

Great place and very nostalgic, wimpy was my hang out place as a kid. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Great for families

It may be a little more expensive than similar fast food restaurants, but it is better quality. Clean restaurant and very friendly helpful staff.

The food is great but it’s the owners that make eating here even better, family run business, & they genuinely care about people in the community, clean and well run business will definitely come back again milkshakes taste delicious

Staff so rude just had menu chucked onto table and walked off asked for kids menu told only under 9 not a problem at are local one as daughter only has small meals

This isn't really how I remember Wimpy, it was quite dark inside but clean. The food seems so expensive, a burger (no chips), a dessert and two drinks came to around £20. The burger was fresh, tasty and very nice. My dessert was not how I remembered it as a kid, the ice cream was very cheap and the fudge a bit stale tasting. The service was very good tho and food all freshly made. I think it could do with a little make over, the ingredients a little better and it would be a great Wimpy.

Ordered a children’s meal, didn’t come with the beans which it’s advertised with - apparently you have to ask for those in addition but why would you when the menu says it comes with them. was told children’s meal only comes with chocolate or strawberry ice cream when I asked for the dessert menu - once I left I checked the menu online & there was also a choice of pancakes & ice cream. I feel like the owners are trying to save money on every little thing meaning you’re missing out on items which should be available to you with what you order. Assuming people don’t read the menu correctly they are saving on not giving a portion of beans or the option of dessert choices for every customer! They seemed to be welcoming to what sounded like regular customers but I didn’t get a warm welcoming vibe at all while in there.

Love Whimpy! It was a really busy Saturday, restaurant was packed and only 1 lady serving and 1 chap cooking! We we're seated, given menus, asked what our order was in under 5 minutes, our drinks came immediately after order was taken and our food arrived within another 10 minutes which was all brilliant. The lady serving was helpful, fast and efficient. The chap cooking was exactly the same. It shows if you know ur role/job no matter how busy things are, you can still get great feedback. WHIMPY in Dorking was GREAT!

Very good place to sit down and have a cuppa tea I like this wimpy because the owners are really kind and supportive tea is very reasonably priced piping hot and they do lovely chips too :) food is good too but the service is the best here I really like coming in here to chill for a bit with a cup of tea

Went in to buy my gf a milkshake. They won't take orders under £5 on card. Gave him a tenner. Looked at the change which seemed a bit light. Came back within 15 minutes to query it and he wouldn't refund. As he had given me correct change for a fiver. Offered for me to come back at closing time when he cashes up. Not everyone lives locally. Shame about the customer service he could have resolved this but didn't. He told me the colour of the note was green, it's blue for a fiver. Complete liar and poor service, shame on you Wimpy. Update: central Wimpy customer complaints issued a voucher £10 and told us that when he cashed up there was no discrepancy reported. Make of that what you will. Won't go back to Dorking Wimpy ever, but Wimpy in general no problem.

Recently l had a delious Bean burger and strawberry milkshake here and l would highly recommend coming here!!

Very expensive and chips tasted like rubber and the fish wasn't the best especially for the money, unfortunately it was a sunday and it was early and the only way we could get fish and chips i do not reccomend the fish and chips, maybe the other food is better?, oh and portions was horrendous, £30 for three small portions of fish and chips and peas,

Dry burger & chips were horrible. Milk shake was nice though.

Haven't visited a wimpy in years,so thought would give the restaurant in Dorking High Street a try.We were the only couple in there,which I thought was unusual for a Friday lunchtime.We were served by what I can only describe as the worst waitress I have ever encountered.She was not only very miserable but very unhelpful and seemed like we had put her out by visiting and making her get up off the chair she was planted on.Did'nt give us much time to choose what to order and stood there staring at the ceiling with her hands on her hips.There was a total lack of basic manners and no please or thank you.When calling her back,as we were not offered any drinks,she tutted and said "what do you want"?!.When asking where the toilet was she replied without even looking at me,"down there"!.The chef also looked just as miserable and surly and can only imagine that they're a very unhappy married couple that are clearly bored of their jobs and are generally totally fed up of being there and of life in general?.The food came quite quickly and wasn't too bad but was nothing like wimpy was years ago.When eating they both planted themselves back onto chairs and didn't ask if our food was okay!.Could hear them both moaning about a number of things.Got the bill,never left a tip other then to tell her to try and smile more.When telling a friend about my wimpy experience here,he said that his partner was refused the veggi meal by the same waitress as she couldn't be bothered to use a different cooking pan!.I would've given no stars if I could and I won't be returning anytime soon.

Good value for money. Better than McD or Burgerking

Really impressed with the quality of the food. Delicious food, and quick too! Arrived at quite a busy time, with only 2 staff working, and hardly waited for our order. Very impressed, will go again.

Fresh and crunchy fries. Meaty burger. Special sauce. Cool crisp salad. Cola was a bit flat though.

The burgers & fries were amazing! And the buns! Simple yet delicious! Didn't get soggy at all! The milkshakes were very creamy and tasty as well. Would definitely go there again!

Lovely place, service and food.

Really good Wimpy. Good Covid protocol's in place. Also, friendly and helpful staff. The food is a good price, good portions and tastes nice. There is one toilet open which is clean. The whole place is clean and good value for money.

Just how it has always been classic

I hadn’t been in a Wimpy for over 20 years and so decided to finally pop in, after living in Dorking for over a year. Coronavirus protocols were in place, track and trace was just a clipboard at the entrance with everyone’s phone numbers and email addresses on display, which I am sure is a GDPR violation. In short, the food is average. Pretty much as I remember it from the 80s. Milkshake was really good. Service was lacking, functional rather than pleasant. Two people actually walked about without ordering due to the abrupt manner the waitress spoke to them “I guess I upset them” was her response. Overall there was no warmth or friendliness and I won’t be back.

Always a friendly atmosphere here. Burgers are fab and the place is lovely and clean! Do enjoy coming here

This was my first ever visit to Wimpy and I was pleasantly surprised. Table service that was prompt with food that was tasty, what more can you ask for?

Brilliant food as always. Come from Berkshire every Sunday to get a good Wimpy. The best one around by far. They are also open Sundays which is a bonus for bikers like myself.

First time trying Wimpy in Dorking and NEVER AGAIN!! The waitress was so miserable, she seemed like she hated her job. The coffee was watery, the toasted sandwich maker was out of order with no recommendation on what else to have in its place. The burger was dry....if it wasnt for my father, I would have got up and walked out. Who ever the waitress is, please send her on a smiling training course.

Wimpy is nice and clean and staff were friendly, the double cheese burger was amazing and probably the best I have had for a long time.

The couple running the restaurant were very friendly and the food was way better than normal standards. This has become our local restaurant in Dirking

Wimpy seem to be more worried about the appearance inside rather than the food. Shame Wimpy use to be the best. Still can be with a kick up the back side

Had a hangover and was going to meet a couple of mates for a few Saturday morning beers so went into Wimpys for a Half Pounder and Chips for a kill or cure. It did both

Fair choice of food and clean basically a burger and fast food type place thought jacket potato with various toppings was also available along with a couple toffu offerings

Normally a Wimpy is a safe bet but the meals we had was well under par the burgers were tough as though the had been on the hot plate for a while the chips were a bit like microwave chips ,brittle and my beans we just warm, definitely not value for money.

A proper Wimp and chips... what more could anyone want!

My cousin and popped in on Sunday afternoon to grab a quick bite. When we entered the premises, we weren't greeted; in fact the lady turned back to speak to her colleague after realising we're a shade she is unfamiliar with. When I walked over to get her attention I was brashly asked "eat in or take away?" We wanted to eat in but decided against when we noted the atmosphere. I asked for a take away menu and she pointed to the table and said "they're there or outside on the window". Suffice to say that was all I needed to make me not want to dine there. I never expected such treatment in 2019.

Best burgers in the whole of Dorking! Also really lovely staff and very clean.

Decent food as always but wimpy prices are always so high be happier with just a £1.50 less per meal would have it busy and 5 *.

It is what it is. If you compare to all other Wimpy's then the food is average. Service was ok and and the restaurant was clean.

Great Burgers with Great coffees...

Staff just don't care about their customers. Food was reheated in a microwave. Burgers were as tough and extremely rubbery. Brown derby was served with big standard ice cream and not the Mr whippy style. Avoid this at all costs unless the staff change.

just wanted something plain after eating a lot of rich food over the festive period. had jacket potatoe which were nice enough and served by a friendly couple.

Reheated, poor quality sausage. Small portion for price. Avoid.

Go into Wimpy for a brunch every time I am in Dorking and it is always a great experience. Cannot understand the comments about the staff as they have always been really nice and friendly every time we go in - plus they remember their regular customers..... The quarterpounder with cheese is my favourite and actually looks like it does on the menu unlike certain other fast food restaurants I could mention ( rhymes with Dack Monolds)

Used to love Wimpey as a kid. My grandparents always took me to their local Wimpey for a treat in London when I visited as there was no such thing in the little country town where I lived. This was not a good experience - dull service - food luke warm and served on a cold plate.

Freshly cooked fayre to order. Good value fast food in rather basic surroundings. What you see is what you get.

Me and my friends came in to try to have a relaxing lunch. But we arrived and encountered the unpleasant waiting staff. I’m writing this review waiting for my food. So if you want to be met with rudeness and disrespectful staff when you enter then go ahead but I would highly recommend to not come because it’s not worth it.

I go to the wimpy in Dorking all the time the food is the best love the wimpy burger with sauce plus the staff and owners are really nice

Nice clean wimpy bar. Burger was as expected lots of new items on the menu since I last went to a wimpy. Unfortunatley did not have whippy ice cream and only syrup milkshakes not the thick ones. Efficient service. Quite expensive for burgers.

Wanted a quick takeaway and so popped into the Wimpey, Had a fairly long wait but as cooked to order can see why this was the case. The food was as to be expected and was nice for bean burger and chips and partner had meat cheese burger and chips but I did find it expensive for what it was in comparison to other well know food chains.

If you can't fry it they won't serve it.

This Wimpy is a regular stop whenever I visit Dorking. Even the most simple Wimpy burger is far superior to any Ronald equivalents. The Dorking Wimpy is a nice clean restaurant, with good table service. Even with all food being cooked at the time of order it is never a long wait. I look forward to my next visit

Cold plates - cold food. Miserable service and small portions. I used to love the Wimpey as a kid when my grandparents used to take us for a treat. The prices are low but the food is not particularly good.

A typical burger bar. Food is ok and the staff are friendly but this place is never busy which is worrying.

Not bad...room for improvement...was clean though

My husband had a pot of tea in here and it was disgusting, it tasted like bleach and was grey in colour, he left most of it but still said it still made him feel ill. I tried it and agreed it tasted of chemicals and was disgusting. I had the milkshake which is advertised on the menu as 'think' but they only do thin milkshakes, it has been like this for a long time and they do warn you but the menu never gets changed. Do not visit if you want a cup of tea. I will not be back.

Great place there should be more of them! Lovely burgers very reasonable prices. Try a brown Derby if you can.
