When I walked up to the front door I wondered if the place was actually open as it was so empty, rundown and dead. I regret not turning round! Service was slow. I arrived 30 mins before the kitchen closed and was told I had to order quickly and then had to wait 25 mins for someone to take my order, then another 10 mins for a drink to come. Food was rubbish and not worth the price.

Needs some work, to decor and service. got seated, very drab facing a dirty wall. so we moved, got a pint, slammed onto my table to create a puddle and the waitress just vanished never to be seen again. next 3 different waitresses were ok but very slow and rarely came back for more drinks or next service. they are clearly understaffed and undcer investment to the venue. shame as used to be quite nice. food was pretty good though and dint take too long once ordered. i will pop back again but if carries on like this i will be stopping future visits

Wait was over an hour my mums steak was supposed to be medium rare and came out gray all the way through and somehow Luke warm,salad was warm to the touch mac n cheese congealed and the gammon in my step dad's mixed grill looked more like a steak than gammon with how it was cooked. As an extra punch to the gut the bar lady said the steak couldn't have been left under a heat lamp as it was cooked right infront of her which was a blatant lie as tgere is no other reason for the salad to be warm. I would not reccomend coming here unless desperate and If you do good luck!

We had booked our wedding reception meal for the 24th July 2024 until we found out via a newspaper that they were closing down on the 5th July. The management didn't even have the decency or common courtesy to contact us to inform us that our reception had in fact been cancelled. With our wedding just 8wks away could you imagine how we would've felt after turning up with our guests to a restaurant that had closed down. So not only have we lost our wedding reception venue we have also lost out on quite a bit of monies for the wedding party planner and all of our decorations, as a lot of our decs are not suitable for our new venue and we will need to purchase new decs. Just please be aware of any bookings that you may have with other beefeater venues, that that they aren't also closing down.

Went to The Woodlands last week. For the whole restaurant two people to serve the customers (and one of those was the manager). The excruciatingly slow service NOT their fault; it is the fault of the management not ensuring more staff for a full restaurant. The soup was just warm and had to be returned. The main course, chips just warm and very dry as if they had been sitting there a long time and the steak grisly. No garnish as per advertised menu. We were there so long (sat down at 6) that by the time 8.35 came we just wanted to get the bill and go into the bar, never mind ordering a dessert. Got the bill and paid it. Our mistake not checking it but we were just desperate to get up and move about. Next day discovered we had been charged for two coffees we never had and extra money for the steak when it was included in the set price. We went into the bar and the tables were covered in dirty plates and my friend had to clear them and go and ask for a cloth to clean the table. We then ordered our drink and within fifteen minutes or so (9.30) the bell rang for last orders. Not good at all. Some chap wandered in just after (he was staying at the attached Premier Inn) and looked bewildered at the bar shut. We knew the place needed a paint and refurb but this was just a step too far. We won't be going again. Oh, and someone also told me that even though they had registered their car in the car park, they got a ticket. Didn't happen to us but maybe we were lucky - second thoughts, no, we weren't lucky with the service and quality of food we received. For a restaurant that was once one of the very best in town for value, atmosphere and a really good evening it is now a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is being deliberately run down and will shut in the very near future.

Tables and bar that you can glue yourself to. Lots of some kind of residue. Table that I was at had very poor light as the light bulb was gone above. Looks like they were short of staff? Food wise: skinny fries were bad. Bacon on chicken was undercooked. AND PRICE for meal deal not as advertised - see picture.

Tables and chairs all packed together. No space to even get out to go to the loo. Avoid completely. To call a beefeater is astonishing.

Omg a Cesspit went for breakfast today and the cups had sliver fish in them and the next the other cups were all dirty.Staff were so rude and food was cold. When I asked for my food to go back and have a fresh one cooked the staff member just blanked me. We walked out not eating anything. For a Beefeater! The food was very underwhelming! They are very busy, but the ratio of tables to waiting staff is obviously not enough! I will add though, the young ladies that served us were very nice but over stretched. The wait between drink orders being taken & how long it took to arrive was far too long! Also the food. We were a table of 8, at one point, 3 of us went to the bar to order drinks, to no avail, no staff at the bar, after waiting 10 minutes, gave up. The ladies toilet also was not nice! Broken seats & not clean. Such a sham as this looks like a very well used eating place for local people. That shouldn't be taken for granted & standards drop!

This Beefeater was in serious need of a revamp. Chairs were all stained, tables sticky, and toilets were in a terrible state. Staff shortage on the day led to my party including 3 children under 9 years old having to wait over 2 hours for food and drinks to be served. The kids offer is really good however such a shame adults have to eat off main menu even though the same dishes were on the lunch menu offer. Defeats the whole point of trying to eat out with kids over half term for cheap!

Had a table reserved today for 11 people for my sons birthday at 14.30, arrived and waited 10 mins for someone to come to seat us. We had 3 adults and 8 children with us and ordered off the kids menu and the lunch set menu. It took 1 hour 15 mins for our starter and nearly another hour for our mains. All the food was luke warm at best, steaks over cooked. We couldn't even get the kids desserts as had to get kids back to be collected. This is a large venue and there were 2 staff serving tables and 1 chef in the kitchen, which is absolutely no where near enough. Our waiter was very nice and clearly trying his best but only so much one person can do. The card machine in our area wasn't working so we all had to walk to the other side to pay. On way home, one adult from our group was sick and several others had upset bellies on getting home and felt v unwell. We were offered no discount and the table next to us had exactly the same experience. Absolutely appalling and would never ever return and would imagine unless management make some radical changes and quickly this place is on the road to closure - think kitchen nightmares!!!!

parking validation machine wasn't working. Told to expect a parking ticket, but to save receipt so we can appeal ticket. Said 15 min wait to be seated, so have a drink to pass the time in the bar. Waitress never came to get us. Ordered food at the bar as we only wanted ice cream. Ice cream came at different times. Asked if we wanted a frozen torte. The place is madness. Brooklyn 99 on TV which was different. Also kid found old chocolate behind the sofa.

We as a group of 7, booked a table on the 17th December 5pm and got our starters an hour later. Approximately it took another 2 hours to get our main courses and deserts. The Christmas turkey meals were tepid and dry. A desert of apple pie and custard was served up on a dinner plate. Front of house service was almost non existent and people were queuing for long periods, some giving up and leaving. The restaurant and bar are severely under staffed which is no fault of the waiting personell. Obviously, the management.care more about profit than customer satisfaction.

We,four adults arrived at 7.30 having booked a table.US and 2 other groups were waiting at the book in desk (blocking the path to the gents loo) for 15 mins before someone came to seat us. Meal was ok and young lady waitress was brilliant. But, no wine glasses had our wine in brandy glasses. After the meal wanted smirnoff vodka but only vodka they had was a raspberry one! Decided on a brandy but that was not in a brandy glass? all used on wine I suppose.Will not rush back.

The restaurant desperately needs updating and decorating. Service not good and so many things on menu they didn’t have. No plain vodka at all only flavoured ones. My friend’s ribs and chicken were totally dry and shrivelled. Totally disappointed and will never go back there again. Good for the workers that stay at premier inn for meals where they dont have to travel far. All day cafe I feel would do much better there. Avoid as it’s not worth the bother.

We have been visiting for years and supported the woodlands through rough times. Tonight was just awful. Toilets as ever in a sorry state...dont know how many times i have commented on here and quietly to the staff...still no one seems to take responsibility. Booked for 7.30 tonight. At 9.00 gave up waiting for food. It wasnt busy. One of the staff when i asked if it would be much longer said they had put another chef in to help!!! No communication with customers. We told the front desk we were leaving and would not be paying for our starters or glass of wine. The response...ok love...no apology what a shame ...place has gone yo pieces

Have family in Gravesend and have been here many times in the past. It was always somewhere people wanted to go to celebrate a special occasion. Whitbread what are you doing? I’ve never seen it so run down. The washrooms were grim, the tables were sticky. The outside needs some attention. Sad to see.

Very seldom in past years have I given a negative review but of late it seems to be happening more. This is a deginite negative. Staff very nice and thats where it end. Outside a disgrace. Food unbelievable poor. Totally unappetising and expensive in comparison with really good restaurants and I visit many many. I am not sure what tripple cooked chips are? - reheated for ever? A burger that has little substance. Placed on a white plate and it looks hellish. Only 2 beers !! The starter was a crunch chicken wings. Meat - near non existant and the coating must be at least 80% of the content except the bones. Dreadful things Another outlet with 3 letters does the job very well at 1/3 of the price. Beefeater was a place I would never visit and this has simply reinforced my thoughts. Give this place a miss.

With its faded paint, scruffy old picnic tables and weeds aplenty out front, the Woodland Beefeater is the sort of place you would likely consider then just drive by. As we were staying at the adjoining Premier Inn however, we had to go in for breakfast. The interior is perfectly smart however and we had a very good breakfast. As expected, the continental part was buffet style, with juice, fresh fruit salad, croissants etc. Pleasingly however, the hot food selection was done via table order and service - and how nice to have a couple of freshly fried eggs. Service was friendly and efficient and we would happily eat here again.

Very argumentative making matters worse. We decided to get up and walk away and found another restaurant. £400.00 lost.

Awful place. No idea how to treat disabled people, sat six of us in a booth for four with the person in our party on a scooter sat in the walkway of staff squeezing part with hot food. Unacceptable and unsafe. Toilets and back area of the restaurant are dirty, toilet seats missing! Staff don’t respond to simple requests like sauces and orders being taken. The manager on Saturday was rude, she was rude dismissive and then on Sunday morning proceeded to be even ruder. I have requested a call from head office to discuss the attitude towards disabled people.

Terrible place. visiting from overseas, it took over 10 minutes for us to be served at the front desk. the staff member in the red jacket on the 8th of July was rude. it took over an hour from when they sat us down for us to receive our food. and the food was rubbery and not up to standards. would never recommend

Had my birthday in the 26th of May at Beefeater Woodlands in Gravesend. The food was lovely and fresh. Cleanliness and staff and our severe was lovely and friendly. I had the Surf and Turf and apple pie with ice cream. Loved it. Thank you staff and Beefeater Woodlands.

Our son booked for the four of us to have a meal and catch up as we have all been so busy , this was my husband’s and I first time here. On entering the pub we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff, we were seated and thought the halloween was amazing, the staff were very friendly, helpful and didn’t feel we were being rushed. The food was to die for , I think I changed my mind three or four times lol, as for the pudding that was absolutely amazing , we had the toffee and peanut butter crumble very yummy and not to sweet. We are definitely returning. To the staff thank you for making our evening wonderful
