Excellent breakfast, refreshing tea, well cooked and great value. Enjoyed my breakfast with views of today's stormy sea.

Went for breakfast and it was great value for money. Picture is of the big breakfast which was £8. Bargain for the size 👌

Staff were really friendly. The Meals were fantastic and the prices were brilliant.

Very friendly greeter, the Xmas lunch was exceeding good value, we felt looked after, but not rushed

Met up with friends for a festive 3 course lunch. Service was all round perfect. Efficient and fast. Food was tasty, hot and delivered to us in good time in between courses.

Fabulous place in a brilliant location, food was very yummy and excellently priced Staff were lovely and helpful, would definitely be here again

Went here for a group birthday meal and ordered the festive menu, food was delicious and the pub was really busy but the staff were friendly and service was excellent lovely atmosphere will most definitely come again

Went for set meal Christmas menu. The waitress firstly brought over someone else's starters. The turkey was awful sliced as though it should be in a sandwich. When I went to pay it took several staff to find the deposit that had been paid, such a shame as a great location.

Honestly - I normally love the old ship for its normal everyday menu you can’t really go wrong. I was only in there last week with my daughter having the 2 meals for for £13.50 which was lovely. Unfortunately like many other “ pub” Christmas menu it’s fall very short of the mark. I wasn’t expect Michelin meals but I was expecting hot cooked well food. We thought we’d give it a go for his year but wish we hadn’t . Myself and my sister opted for the vegetarian option which was spinach & falafel burger with vegan ribs bbq sauce & a dairy free cheese. Unfortunately ever part of the burger was drenched in bbq sauce so it was really sloppy and overpowering . The menu said skin on fries which I would have loved and there was a vegan option which was little squares of roast potato’s. So I started the roasties which were average with a lot of them very hard and undercooked . I tried to eat the burger but it was so sloppy and over sauced I had to stop. The vegan ribs were tough and chewy. I’m not a vegan and didn’t ask for the vegan option. When they came over I asked why it wasn’t chips and he said it was to do with something in the oil that wasn’t vegan They offered to bring sone fries over but I was already disappointed and everyone else had stopped eating anyway. My meal looked untouched. I thought as a token of goodwill maybe they would take my meal off but they never end when we complained whilst paying they just said they had just come on shift and knew nothing. Such a shame as it was my mum and sisters annual Christmas get together. None of us enjoyed our meals but they really weren’t bothered.

I treated my and three daughters to Christmas menu . The two Christmas dinners were poor frozen veg overcooked, carrots peas and 4 sprouts mixed together , freezer “roast” potatoes some undercooked and turkey roll slices.will let my daughter review the two different meals . Very disappointing . I was gutted that all meals were poor .

Nice staff and atmosphere, but the food is not great. It's OK and we have eaten there a couple of times because the order at table is so convenient, but it's probably the worst of all the other pubs in Lee.

Disappointed in our visit here. Very limited vegan options, staff grumpy, our table of 6 had 4 meals delivered and were halfway through before the others arrived, it we all ordered together. Such a shame.

Lovely place, very welcoming and nice atmosphere. Food was timely, hot and delicious. Bit of confusion from staff when paying the bill as we were a large party paying individually but was rectified quite quickly.

Love this place and love the food but made the mistake of ordering the curry feast . The dip and the pot it came in looks to be straight out of asda . The nan bread was identical to the ones you get in Asda. The curry itself was identical in look and taste to microwave currys . Same for rice . But the poppadoms were 100% fresh and really nice . I won't be ordering again and will stick to burgers or sizzling dishes as these are amazing

Best Pub/Restaurant in Gosport and what a view...across the Solent,especially on a sunny day.

We only went in for a morning drink and to see the sea views ,however we got told we couldn't sit in the front area and had to sit in the rear area with only the car park to look out on ... The front door needs some attention either a soft close bracket fitted or a bit of spong to stop the almighty bang each time it closes

Fab place to visit, lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly, totally recommend. Food is amazing, definitely recommend sizzling chicken.

It's certainly improved since the last time we came which was earlier this year, so well done. The food, was honesty very good can't complain.

Down on holiday so friends took us to this venue there was five in our party and one had food allergies catered for him very well for the mains but unfortunately nothing for pudding the other four of us had a lovely meal and desserts lovely pub with a great view and atmosphere would visit when down here again 👍😀

This is the first time that we’ve been here for many years and it looks much nicer following the refurbishment. The food was very good and good value for money and the drink prices are also reasonable.

Nice reasonably priced food but took ages to come out

Lasagne came out cold and despite sending it back it wasn't very warm in the middle. Someone else sent some cheese on toast back the bread had not been toasted! Disappointing its usually good.

Just visited for drinks. Very welcoming. Clean. Quite pricey for soft drinks compared to other pubs/bars.

Service was friendly and quick! Even though it was very busy at the time. We all enjoyed our dinner. Always friendly clean and some lovely homely touches around with the flowers and decor. Lovely comfortable atmosphere where we always feel relaxed. ❤️

Food was lovely. Glasses were dirty even with lemon still stuck on them. Sneaky tip added on to the bill without being asked if you want to give on. This is before you get asked if you'd like to leave a tip.

Hands down, some of the most delicious food I've eaten lately! I am still fantasizing about my dinner here. The energy is contagious and really put me in a good mood. I cannot thank Izabelle enough for her excellent service. She went out of her way to fulfill our wishes and treated us like VIP's. We will most definitely be returning thanks to her.

Sadly an hour wait for our food when it didn't appear massively busy. I would have appreciated them coming to explain their might be a wait when we ordered.

We have driven past The Old Ship many times and finally decided to have lunch there. Really glad we did, the food was delicious and the service very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long. Will definitely visit again soon.

My meal finally came out 15 minutes after everyone else's and was overcooked and dry when it did arrive. I should have complained but didn't as I was hungry. I wouldn't visit again.

Visited this evening we normally go to the Two brothers at Westend. What a friendly place . Bar staff and the yoing lad that served the food. Very nice meal. Clean tidy.We forgot to put Reg number in at the bar didn't notice till we were leaving. Spoke to a guy behind the bar who said we should be ok any problems to come back in and let him know.

Idk if the chefs are on a off day but food was not it, burnt and dry burgers , chips were stodgy and were old , and the drinks my god the Pepsi glasses smelt really bad of old dry rags :( disappointed, and seems like staff just aimlessly walk around not even asking if everything is alright quite confused as the person behind the bar was actually really nice. Music was a bit loud also but not overly .

Waited an eternity for a meagre, over cooked bit of gristle, 3 overcooked onion rings, and a small pot of fries, on a sizzling plate so small that food was falling onto the table and floor. Left the place feeling like I hadn't eaten anything. Won't be going back again.

Booked a table for food and drinks with friends. The team were welcoming and helpful. Despite being very busy our food came out quickly and was yummy. They had some entertainment on so we decided to stay for more drinks and a boogie. It was very good and recommend to anyone at a loose end on the last Friday of every month. Great night! Usually like coming here. Today, ordered: 2 starters - Luke warm but thought to leave it as busy. 2 mains both cold, send back and replacement cold. Asked for a refund, mains refunded but no apology. Spend over £60 and refunded £26.57. Won’t be coming back.

We came to The Old Ship to celebrate our mum's birthday, she loves a window seat to see the sea with her dinner. Arrived and it was so very busy, but we were greeted with a smile and told which table we had. Drinks and food were lovely, the staff were friendly and made a fuss of mum, so we will be back and definitely recommend you to friends and family.

A good place to meet up with friends for a meal. Close to sea front.

The salad we had with the chicken and cheese melt was poor quality old and brown edged, the beer pumps around the bar were dirty with what looks like alggee growing on the top and side, the menu was dirty and sticky...but I did enjoy my Rump stake with peppercorn source and the views are great across the solent

Great family pub overlooking the sea. It was very busy when we were there but we got served fairly quickly by very friendly staff. The food was typical pub food but very nice and tasty and a good price.

Waited over an hour for food then half our order came out and then by the time the other food came my husband had already finished and then when the rest came out they where not the best quality at all cold and just tatsed like it had been sat there for ages. Not. Very Impressed at all and none of the staff apologised for the wait times or come to check back on our food .

we were greeted in a friendly way with a smile. The selection of drinks was wide. The menu offered plenty of choice and good value. The vegetarian options were varied, peppered throughout the menu, not just a single token dish tacked on at the bottom of the menu. The food was prepared and served quickly and hot. The quality of the produce was good. The location of the pub on Lee-on-the-Solent seafront is great. The views of the Solent from the wide windows is well appointed and access to the promenade is just across the road. There is an adequate sized car park and, should it be full, street parking available immediately opposite.

After my 24-hour boat ride I had to turn one out and the old ships are great old place to do it cricket club do it carol Baskin was waiting for me at the front entrance to get some fish and chips but he demanded she went elsewhere cuz he didn't have no lemon wedges how baskin was

Perfect place for a drink by the beach. George was so nice and helpful. Service very quick and food amazing!
