Great food plenty on plate but best of all the service was superb will definitely go again and recommend to family and friends

This is the first time that we’ve been here for many years and it looks much nicer following the refurbishment. The food was very good and good value for money and the drink prices are also reasonable.

Great food and a friendly atmosphere. Food was served not only quickly but also hot. Skillet was sizzling . There was a very smiley young man whom was very polite and attentive. Thanks will be definitely be back.

Great pub over looking over the Solent Quality food, great prices on drinks. Cocktail menu, staff work really hard and are very helpful.

Nice reasonably priced food but took ages to come out

Just visited for drinks. Very welcoming. Clean. Quite pricey for soft drinks compared to other pubs/bars.

Lasagne came out cold and despite sending it back it wasn't very warm in the middle. Someone else sent some cheese on toast back the bread had not been toasted! Disappointing its usually good.

Service was friendly and quick! Even though it was very busy at the time. We all enjoyed our dinner. Always friendly clean and some lovely homely touches around with the flowers and decor. Lovely comfortable atmosphere where we always feel relaxed. ❤️

I had dinner here the other day and it was excellent!! The food was delicious and the staff, especially Izzy who served our table was so friendly and helpful

Food was lovely. Glasses were dirty even with lemon still stuck on them. Sneaky tip added on to the bill without being asked if you want to give on. This is before you get asked if you'd like to leave a tip.

Food was lovley didnt take long to come at all one of the staff members in there izabelle was really good and keeping up with everything

Hands down, some of the most delicious food I've eaten lately! I am still fantasizing about my dinner here. The energy is contagious and really put me in a good mood. I cannot thank Izabelle enough for her excellent service. She went out of her way to fulfill our wishes and treated us like VIP's. We will most definitely be returning thanks to her.

Sadly an hour wait for our food when it didn't appear massively busy. I would have appreciated them coming to explain their might be a wait when we ordered.

We have driven past The Old Ship many times and finally decided to have lunch there. Really glad we did, the food was delicious and the service very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long. Will definitely visit again soon.

Food was Late and when we got it. It was cold 🥶 had to send it back and the staff were no where to be seen not good been here many times but gone down hill

My meal finally came out 15 minutes after everyone else's and was overcooked and dry when it did arrive. I should have complained but didn't as I was hungry. I wouldn't visit again.

Visited this evening we normally go to the Two brothers at Westend. What a friendly place . Bar staff and the yoing lad that served the food. Very nice meal. Clean tidy.We forgot to put Reg number in at the bar didn't notice till we were leaving. Spoke to a guy behind the bar who said we should be ok any problems to come back in and let him know.

Idk if the chefs are on a off day but food was not it, burnt and dry burgers , chips were stodgy and were old , and the drinks my god the Pepsi glasses smelt really bad of old dry rags :( disappointed, and seems like staff just aimlessly walk around not even asking if everything is alright quite confused as the person behind the bar was actually really nice. Music was a bit loud also but not overly .

Waited an eternity for a meagre, over cooked bit of gristle, 3 overcooked onion rings, and a small pot of fries, on a sizzling plate so small that food was falling onto the table and floor. Left the place feeling like I hadn't eaten anything. Won't be going back again.

Booked a table for food and drinks with friends. The team were welcoming and helpful. Despite being very busy our food came out quickly and was yummy. They had some entertainment on so we decided to stay for more drinks and a boogie. It was very good and recommend to anyone at a loose end on the last Friday of every month. Great night! Usually like coming here. Today, ordered: 2 starters - Luke warm but thought to leave it as busy. 2 mains both cold, send back and replacement cold. Asked for a refund, mains refunded but no apology. Spend over £60 and refunded £26.57. Won’t be coming back.

We came to The Old Ship to celebrate our mum's birthday, she loves a window seat to see the sea with her dinner. Arrived and it was so very busy, but we were greeted with a smile and told which table we had. Drinks and food were lovely, the staff were friendly and made a fuss of mum, so we will be back and definitely recommend you to friends and family.

Izabelle was a brilliant sever very polite and kind girl everytime i come here the food and staff are lovely would definitely recommend.

A good place to meet up with friends for a meal. Close to sea front.

The salad we had with the chicken and cheese melt was poor quality old and brown edged, the beer pumps around the bar were dirty with what looks like alggee growing on the top and side, the menu was dirty and sticky...but I did enjoy my Rump stake with peppercorn source and the views are great across the solent

Great family pub overlooking the sea. It was very busy when we were there but we got served fairly quickly by very friendly staff. The food was typical pub food but very nice and tasty and a good price.

Waited over an hour for food then half our order came out and then by the time the other food came my husband had already finished and then when the rest came out they where not the best quality at all cold and just tatsed like it had been sat there for ages. Not. Very Impressed at all and none of the staff apologised for the wait times or come to check back on our food .

Food took about an hr to come out to the table, and wasn't served in the correct order.

we were greeted in a friendly way with a smile. The selection of drinks was wide. The menu offered plenty of choice and good value. The vegetarian options were varied, peppered throughout the menu, not just a single token dish tacked on at the bottom of the menu. The food was prepared and served quickly and hot. The quality of the produce was good. The location of the pub on Lee-on-the-Solent seafront is great. The views of the Solent from the wide windows is well appointed and access to the promenade is just across the road. There is an adequate sized car park and, should it be full, street parking available immediately opposite.

After my 24-hour boat ride I had to turn one out and the old ships are great old place to do it cricket club do it carol Baskin was waiting for me at the front entrance to get some fish and chips but he demanded she went elsewhere cuz he didn't have no lemon wedges how baskin was

Waited 40 minutes for a starter which we only got as we asked a member of staff why it was taking so long, then received cheesy garlic bread that was basically a bread roll cut in half with some garlic butter on it and a dairylea slice, microwaved! We refused to pay for it. Main course was just average.

Only had a pint on this occasion. Sat outside in the sun. The pub is across the road from the Solent with a clear view of the Isle of Wight. We watched the sailing boats and the odd container ship heading for or leaving Southampton and the ferry going backwards and forwards from Portsmouth.

The only down fall was the cutlery was dirty. Food was tasty

We stopped by because of the 2 main meals for 12.95. When ordering we were told the offer and, indeed, the menu didn't apply as we were sitting on the deck. This made no sense and staff were unable to explain why. Intensely irritated to have to move inside on a gorgeous day. Service very slow but fish when it did arrive was gorgeous.

I would have givin’ this no stars. It started off with the person working at the bar recommended the Madri beer that had just been changed. My beer was just room temperature. Then came our breakfast, I could have got a better cooked breakfast from a mortuary. It was cremated then cremated again and my wife’s scrambled eggs were definitely made somebody that just doesn’t care or no what their doing. Do yourself a favour stay away

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We arrived and instantly got served by a member of staff. The drinks were reasonably priced based of the size of the glasses. Overall the staff made the night and we enjoyed ourself.

This is an updated review from my previous review. The atmosphere has massively improved (thanks to the new management) the food is always great and the bar staff provide great customer service.

Amazing food and service even when they are so busy, really love their fish n chips have the best light batter. Staff amazing nothing too much trouble.

Love the ship love the landlord and staff always feel amazingly welcome.
