Lovely Monday night dinner. The menu has plenty of choices so there is something for everyone. The staff were polite and attentive

A great experience as always, some family members were participating in dry January so we're very impressed with the ranges of alcohol free drinks, they tried the old mout 0% and also the Stella 0%, all meal were enjoyed and left all with full bellies. We shall definitely continue visiting.

Went in to try the free 0% Guinness offer. Wow could hardly tell the difference. Was quiet when I visited but service from the manager Rick was exceptional. Would highly recommend a visit

Excellent service. Easy ordering online with lots of customisation options. Friendly staff. Food promptly delivered and quality great. Indoor play area for our 4 year old.

Terrible service, discourteous supervisor. And not all the food was available for the carvery and only half the meat etc condiment section was empty. Had to wait nine minutes for gravy, while standing in a queue with other people.. When I spoke to the supervisor about the lack of supervision, she just said yes, I know🤦‍♂️ No apologies, nothing. The food was tasty, but I wouldn’t go back again. Poor quality carvery, very bad service.

Terrible service. Slow uninterested supervisor. Poor selection of meat and food on the carvery and almost zero condiments. When I complained to the supervisor, she was totally uninterested.

Nice, well run pub. The menu and food much improved as can be seen by the popularity of the place especially at the weekends. Nice friendly staff too.

Wow what can I say. Every part of my visit was perfect. Served by Rich and Olaa service was excellent and food was perfect. Carvery looked delicious so decided to give it a try. Meat juicy, crispy roast potatoes and fluffy on the inside, veg fresh and can’t go wrong with nice thick gravy. Will definitely be back thanks for a great evening!

Decent quality food and excellent customer service

Easily booked online for a table at The Sailmaker this evening. We ordered using the QR code on the table which was easy to do and our drinks and carvery vouchers arrived quickly after ordering. There was a short wait for the server to come back to the counter but there was a good selection of meat (gammon, beef and turkey) and sides (peas, carrots, sprouts, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, parsnips and potato dauphinoise). I was a greedy b****h and my plate was piled high with a selection of the above, plus extra pigs in blankets and 3 Yorkshire puds 😋🐖🐖 It was all absolutely delicious smothered in gravy with horseradish for my beef and cranberry sauce for my turkey. I didn't quite have room for the last Yorkshire and a bit of mash and a member of staff kindly gave me a couple of paper bags to take my leftovers home to my appreciative mutts 😃 Thank you, Sailmaker ... I'll be back next time my carvery itch needs scratching!

To long cleaning the table and when it was only 4 out of the 6 plates were taken not a nice place gone down hill..

Lovely menu, good food but was gutted they didnt have enough meat ect for carverys due to a large party that had booked so was rather disappointed x great prices on food and drink, cocktails are definitely worth the price i was shocked they was in pint glasses x staff more then accommodating

All the staff were friendly and welcoming and delivered great customer service. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty and I would definitely recommend the Sailmaker to my friends and family.

I personally had a good meal. One person in our party had the carvery, which was a bit dry, but I did think this was a silly choice to go for on a Monday evening. Has the meat been kept warm for a while. Carvery is more of a sunday lunch option when there is a higher turnover

Good good, loads of food, good Yorkshire pudding. The meat was very nice. Nice roast love it. Georgia lovely young lady. I asked for a bigger piece of pork crashing She said ok I then. Then I asked for her name, Later after I finished my meal. I said I would write a review she said Thank you. That would be lovely. Very helpful, very nice, lovely manner about her. Two boys, working down her for a week from Essex. Back to the primary inn to lay down im stuffed. I'll sleep well tonight lol Good job well done.

Easy and efficient ordering system Carvery was nice

Absolutely awful display on the carvery it looked grubby . The meat was all dried up and most of the vegetables were pretty much the same gravy I could stand the spoon up in it .we had to sit on a table for 8 because every other table was dirty .The service at the bar was ok the it was frankly dire .

Staff keep you waiting and by far the worst carvery I have ever been to. The meat had clearly been sat there for some time, the beef was as dry as my nans cracked heels and the gammon was as cremated as my childhood dog, to be fair they were probably cooked around the same time. The roast potatoes were soggy and undercooked,the best part of my visit was when we left.

Very nice food indeed, food lovely friendly staff, a bit pricey but portion sizes to match, rather large, so on the whole very good indeed.

Been here a number of times over the years, each time it gets a little bit worse, today was awful, staff rude and unhelpful, the Calvery was a burnt dry offering. Never again see photo, and to top it off had to wait for 5 mins for potatoes to arrive. Come on Marstons this is crap! Oh they won’t let me load the photo. I am not surprised

Wow, service from Jess & Ola, simply fantastic. And with a sense of humour and a friendly genuine smile on an extremely busy night. Personal service swhich is SO so rare in pubs these days. Food was stunning. Wow, even down to their salads which are stunning. Well done The SailMaker and staff. Great night out, a hidden gem in the middle of Gosport!! Who knew? Amazing.

Absolutely disgusted to find a 1.5cm lump of stone pebble in my vegetarian chilli. Hardly got an apology More a "we buy this in" I could of broken a tooth as I bit down on it or choked One thing to overlook the uncleared and sticky tables but another entirely to find a lump of rock in your food. Tried to fob me off that it was a piece of hard veg. Errrr no it s a piece of stone Horrendous experience Wont be eating out again for a long time

This was our first time at the sailmaker, at first we were a bit unsure of what to expect but when our meals came out we were highly impressed, the food was sooo nice! It’s the first time the whole family have all sat down and eaten every last bite whilst out having a meal! My partner usually moans at every little thing but there was absolutely no complaints! The food was delicious and hot and the staff were very friendly! Will absolutely be returning!

Go in this pub after a small food shop locally. Nice and clean and plenty of tables.

The food was lovely! We had a roast carvery and the beef especially was so tender! Really lovely meat. The service was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere of the pub was very family friendly. We used the scan code for the first time to order and it was quick and easy and we had no issues. We love coming and we are already planning our next visit

The most awful roast I have had. The beef tasted like corned beef don't know why so would appreciate confirmation as to why. The gammon was very salty & sloppy texture. No greens only peas. Roasts ok but Yorkshire although massive was so tough I couldn't cut it. Won't be returning

Lovely little pub and great carvery

This pub has a real opportunity to impress. It's in a location close to several leisure facilities, including the ice rink, which is well attended for weekend matches. The food is ok, but the service is nothing short of appalling. We waited well over 20 minutes for a drink at the bar, and it wasn't even that busy. Although admittedly it was 7pm and the ice hockey had just finished. The bar and waiting staff look bored and disinterested. They were in no hurry to serve people who'd clearly been there for some time. Having said that it's clear the pub is massively understaffed at busy times, so you can probably understand the staff's frustrations. We've been using this pub for several years, and the service has never been great. Now it's almost unusable. We even noticed a family of 2 adults and 3 children who arrived, were told to wait at the bar for their table, and then left after 20 minutes as not one member of staff had been to see them, or offered them drinks. Best avoided sadly, as it's in a good location and should be able to cope on a fairly busy evening.

Very disappointed took family from London for a carvery no beef no turkey just gammon £12 is a lot of money for a plate of vegetables and it was 6 pm not even late in the day didn't make a fuss as it would be embarrassing for family as they were paying

Terrible evening! Will NOT be returning! No idea of allergens….when asked we were made out to be a pain ( mum has a garlic allergy ) carvery looked dry and like it had been there all day….this was at 6.30pm….we then changed to menu meals which were just as bad…and 3 of our party ate before the other 3. No helpful staff and will not recommend

Olaa & Lauren have provided an excellent service over the pass 5 days of my stay at the Premier Inn. Pleasant, polite and friendly. 10 out of 10.

This is a nice pub. The food is decent and the staff are really friendly. Also the big cakes they do are a real bonus!
