All round great visit. Good value plenty of offers to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Brilliant stay for the week, we were here for most days because the value and staff.

Had a nice dinner, food was surprisingly well cooked and delicious and the portion was so big I had no space for pudding unfortunately!

Table 21 ...... 22/10/2024 12:30 (ish) ordered sizzling steak & full monty ... full monty steak was wrapped in something strands ( like the hairs pulled from a plug hole ) tangled ! I brought to the attention and showed a member of staff and was offered a silly pudding in return 😡. I have used this to eat many times in the past and never had a issue until today. Would I recommend to family & friends ?... not after todays find. It was utter disgusting to say the least !

my husband, my self and my 3 young children went for dinner on Sunday the 20th of October and I we had a fantastic experience, the food was great, I had the roast with 2 meats and my husband a spicy burger and the kids had wraps and pasta, the food came quickly and was super hot and tasty! you could tell nothing bad been sitting long at all! the kids wraps came with so many bits and we really big portions. well worth the money! we will definitely be going back!

Lovely welcoming staff, normal pub food though, but brilliant service from the front of house team. Food is valued for money.

Went for dinner ordered a rare steak sent it back twice as steak came out medium. The chef came out and told me he knew how to cook a steak been doing it for 30 years was very abusive. The manager came and spoke to me told me company policy not too cook rare steak. This was nowhere to be seen on menus. Was offered replacement item or refund by then I had lost my appetite.

Part of a party that came for a birthday, I'm so happy we did, the food fantastic, the staff even better along with the prices. A lovely lady brought us out meals and checked if we were all ok, and a nice young chap brought us out puds, Ethan and Shara , we asked the manager for their name as everyone went above and beyond to make this a good day.

Nice Friday lunch with the family, the staff were polite, the man who served us was happy and polite and the young lady who checked on us was kind.

In the past I have give a good reviews but yesterday was more than bad.Two hour wait for our main course lots of unuesfull information.One person in the kitchen not the customers fault this is down to bad management.Not sure we will go there again although our grandchildren like it.

Not a very good experience. Standard of food was disappointing, tasteless, and gave me an evening in the toilet. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We only popped in for a drink,busy at 2pm with people eating and nice buzzy atmosphere. Took a large table and my only criticism would be that food had not been cleaned from the floor after others had eaten there.

We were staying in the Premier Inn next door for a few days, so booked in for evening meal and breakfast. We booked ahead knowing our first night was a Saturday, and glad we did. Table was all ready for us so we decided to order our food and drink on the Greene King app. This is a fantastic development, your menu is all ready to go telling you what is available and what isn't. Drinks and food ordered and within 5 minutes our drinks had arrived at our table and was soon followed by our mains ( highly recommend the Korean BBQ chicken burger!). There was a bit of a wait for dessert whilst the team were dealing with a disgruntled customer. We found the staff friendly and very helpful and a good ambience in the restaurant. Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn affair. Continental and cereals all set up, and cooked breakfast made to order so everything is fresh and hot. Only grumble would be the shortage of bread for toast. Overall we couldn't fault the service or the staff and wouldn't hesitate to come back again in the future. Great value for money!

Charlie was great. Very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation on a Wednesday night and had 5 of us waiting for a meal. We were told a table should clear in about 30 mins. We waited over 3 hours for a table. Many tables were available but apparently 5 of us were too many for them to serve/seat due to "health and safety reasons". We eventually had to pull 2 tables at the bar in order to be able to be served. We had family over from South Africa and we wanted to show them a good night and Unfortunately the service from staff (besides Charlie) was very unwelcoming. Myself and the rest of our party feel this pub/restaurant would be better managed by Charlie as he bends over backwards for his customers, where as the rest of the staff couldn't give a damn about anything.

Table of 5 was to many. They refused to serve us.

The food was very good value for money. The staff excelled themselves and were so helpful even though at times they were extremely busy but always polite and smiling faces.

Staying at the hotel across the road for a few nights. The team have been ever so helpful and the food fantastic. The pub can go from one extreme to another but unfortunately this is not in the teams control but they handled everyday perfectly. Will be back for sure

My daughter and new son in law held their wedding reception here, what an amazing place, all the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. On the day the venue was set up perfectly the way we asked,the atmosphere was amazing on the night and everyone had a great time. The food was delicious and served quickly and to everyone's needs. Although the whole staff did an excellent job, a special thank you to Curtis, Rhys and Charlie. Will definitely be visiting again one day.

Came here with my family during our weekend away. Got to say was a bit disappointed. We had booked and were given a table behind a group of very loud, drunk and swearing adults. The staff never asked them to quiet down at all even after a woman near us complained. A lot of the food wasn’t available. The service was ok. Tables very sticky and lots of empty glasses and plates around. All in all quite rough. Won’t be going back again

My wife and I had a reception here after our wedding. They went above and beyond, catering to our requests setting up the space, and even bringing out the food in an orderly and timely manner. I want to particularly thank Curtis, who helped to manage and ensure the space was ready and all our decorations were laid out and aesthetic, Rhys, for laying out the cakes perfectly and helping to cook our food to perfection, and Charlie for being so friendly and helpful throughout the entire evening. I would highly recommend this place for events as well as just general dining in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, you cannot help but wish to go back.

Nice staff and good food at a reasonable price. Be careful if you have allergies as they did mess up my meal but they corrected it and gave me a refund with no hassle.

This is one of our local restaurants to visit. It has improved since the last time we visited in the food and service. We were served by Ethan, and he was very helpful throughout our visit. I recommend that you check out the deals because it's worth the money. I had the big plate special chicken korma curry for £10 you get the curry and rice, with chips, naan bread, 3 onion bhajis, 2 poppadoms, mango chutney and mint dip! As well as a drink! Love a bargain!

Stop off on our way to Eastbourne. Saw sign at bar saying limited menu. Should have read no food. The guy seamed bemused that I wanted to order food.

Food and service.. no star Hotel custoner.. no booking table to eat... no space to eat.. I eat my diner next to bar on high table, disaine to drinking ... with was all dirty and sticky. .... needs negative star. Breakfast till 9am.. lunch??? Not wasting my time... dinner also till 9pm, finish work 9.30 and dance from bar ... back to town to eat But open to drinking...... sorry

We have eaten here a few times and found that the meals are very appetising and also good value for money (Don't much care for the 'fake' onion rings tho'). The service is always friendly and efficient. Our waitress, Lil, is super professional and has attended to us very well. Thank you Mill for great times.

I have been to the Mill a lot over the last decade, I really enjoy the food and the staff are generally happy and helpful. The reason for the four stars is that my son and I enjoy a lovely pint of bitter but although there are numerous beer taps with loads of variety, there only ever seems to be one beer available at lunchtime. I'm sure there are logistical reasons for this but I would certainly buy more beer at lunchtime if more choice was available.

Had a breakfast for 4 this morning from the Premier Inn next door. Not much communication from the Premier Inn regards, staggering the bookings for Breakfast to The Mill to avoid long waits for cooked breakfast etc. The manager was very good and refunded our breakfast after a long wait, food was good and not really his fault due to staffing. Many thanks for your help!

Four of us went here tonight for my mum's birthday dinner because we all like the food and the atmosphere here. Tonight we brought in some cupcakes and candles and the staff were kind enough to light the candles and bring out the cakes after our dinner despite being busy. The whole pub sang for my mum and it was a really lovely experience. My mum and I always choose the Mill because we've always enjoyed it here. The smothered steak sizzler is a really good choice. I've never had an issue with it, I really like it and I've had it multiple times. My mum loves it too and always gets it.

The chef is a microwave jockey at best..... it says SIZZLING PAL!!!! The only saving grace is the bar staff 😘

Dirty glasses, dirty toilets, understaffed so the pub was full of unclean tables, food basic, staff friendly but clearly overworked, decor looked tired, poor choice of ales on pump. Nice little play area for kids!

The food was fantastic, the portions and value for money are 10/10. We did have to wait 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive with our food and the waitress was slightly off but apart from that I would recommend this place and will be returning.

Haven’t been here for a while but wanted to have a change so we visited the mill ; place was busy we had booked which is advisable; food came fairly quickly and was really nice ; manager Curtis very polite and worked really hard along with his team; may be at busy times have someone helping to serve at the bar to save people queuing; but was a really good visit ;

Always great value meals, Very tasty food, Friendly staff, good variety and choice, with differing offers for each day . A lovely beer garden and play area for kids too. Clean and spacious ,wheelchair accessible . Highly recomended for families, couples and large groups . Updating my review after 3 years. Curtis one of the managers here is very friejdly ,, proffessional, approachable and helpful if you have any issues Still a great value establishment ,with a great atmosphere, super value for money, great for families and now with charging station for cars too. My wife and I love coming here. Staff are friendly, there’s a great variety of food, and tastes great. Went into today and had Cass bring over our orders and she went above and beyond.

First night staying at Premier Inn, went to the The Mill opposite for food and drinks. Great atmosphere, very attentive staff. Made me feel like a local even though it was my first time. Special mention to Cassie, who made sure we had plenty to drink, along with good conversation.

Me and my partner came for dinner, it was so busy and we thought we wouldn’t get a seat but Charlie the waiter was very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Always get a happy greeting when we go in the mill the landlord and staff are all very polite and never keep you waiting long the food is always hot and of good quality

Mothers day week end here was great, stayed at the hotel across from the pub visiting my mother nearby. Breakfast was nicely cooked fresh and the dinner was lovely. The roast my dad got was Huge and we only just about finished the burger with sweet chilli, we will pop in next time we are down this end of the country.

We came here for mother's day lunch, booked in last minute as everywhere was busy but I can't say how great full we were. The staff were fantastic, greeted by a gentleman who showed us to our seat, nice booth tucked away. We had two lovey roast and two wooden board meals, size was perfect, couldn't fit pudding unfortunately but we were asked by both the gentleman and a brown haired lady if everything was ok. Busy but service of point, they both asked us to do a review and we great fully accepted. We will be back when we are in the area.

Came for some breakfast on mother's day, was welcomed at the entrance by lil . Lil seated us to our table and said to order at the bar when ready. Was served straight away at the bar. Only had short wait for our food. Lil brought food out and was very nice to my children. Had a check back. Food was very nice and hot. Lil was working and was busy but still made sure everyone was ok, even made time to say good bye and to enjoy the rest of our day. Thank you lil

Ordered starters and sunday turkey roast dinner. Starter arrived and while we was eating that the main roast arrived. Felt very rushed and as we had a two person table waiter had trouble squeezing on our table. Terrible place to eat as the starter was warm food but the main roast was cold.

Great variety of pub food at brilliant prices. TV's at some of the tables for kids entertainment! Only downside is it is quite small so pre-book your table

Another amazing family dinner at the mill. The menu has lots of choice and is cooked to perfection. The staff go out of their way to assist and are very attentive. Would highly recommend. TV booths and colouring for the kids so we could have an adult chat whilst the kids were happy. Looking forward to the summer when the garden and play equipment will be in full use, well. done team Mill!

We had booked breakfast whilst staying at the Premier Inn - we have enjoyed many breakfasts in varying Premier venues however this was disappointing. We recognised the female staff member was working very hard seemingly single handed and our cooked breakfast was hot and tasty. However the tables and chairs in the venue are tired shabby and past their best. We were disappointed there was not a coffee machine as in many Premier Inn restaurants instead there was an urn of water for instant coffee or a cold filter coffee jug that was empty. Added to which the restaurant had run out of milk and we had to use sachets - so cereal was not possible. Although we were more than happy with our hotel stay we would not choose to eat in The Mill restaurant again.

Came in for breakfast with my family, ordered at the bar with a lovely blonde lady who was very nice and friendly, who told us to help ourselves to tea and coffee at the breakfast bar. As we were doing so a very angry lady with dark hair told us off for doing this despite it being a miscommunication between staff. Made the atmosphere very awkward. Must be the same lady as these other bad reviews. Apart from that the food is fine.

I’m a regular at this pub/restaurant and I can’t recommend it enough, the portion sizes are amazing, the staff are super friendly and the service is super quick and efficient. They have some amazing offers all week long, I do have to say my favourite nights are Thursday and Friday, freebie Thursday and buy 1 get 1 free Friday (burgers) these are just 2 of the great offers they have that give you excellent value for your money. Cant recommend enough! 10/10!!!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had! The waitress and manager so rude. I ordered, on the app, a pudding. The app gave me the option of having vegan custard, fab! I can’t eat dairy. When it came it had dairy ice cream. I said to the waitress very politely that it wasn’t what I had ordered and she stared at me and said you should have told us you didn’t want ice cream. I tried to explain that the app gave me the option so I didn’t realise I’d needed too. She walked off before I finished my sentence. Stomped over to the manager behind the bar, pointed at me and was clearly complaining about me! The manager rolled her eyes. The waitress brought out another pudding that appeared to be correct, dumped it down in front of me and said next time order properly! I was absolutely shocked as was never anything other than polite to her! I didn’t bother to complain at the time as the manager was watching the whole exchange and said nothing! I did email their head office but haven’t heard anything back yet. I would absolutely never set foot in there ever again. You tell the customer service is bad just by reading some of their responses to bad reviews.

We spent the week end here although it has been extremely busy at times (breakfast) we have come back for dinner as the service was undeniably perfect. We were looked after at every point, lovely to see.

What a joke!! 🤮🤮🤮 100% diabolical!!!! Dirty self service area, no hot water, dirty cups. No fresh juice, very very limited continental breakfast. Bread, some dried up pancakes and pain au chocolate. No fresh fruit as advertised. Dirty plates with crumbs. Lazy rude blonde waitress just so obnoxious rude and too lazy to clear a table so my husband did this, she was asked for a plate and she replied "ok love won't be a minute" and muttered "I've only got 1 pair of hands" Our table was dirty, there were crusty chips from last night's service and the table was sticky. We asked for it to be cleaned, however that request was ignored! We ordered our cooked breakfast. When it arrived 30 mins later my plate was dirty and swimming in grease. 🤣🤣🤣 The egg looked plastic. Bacon cover in white scum! Hash brown hmmm cardboard and the sausage advertised as premium 🤣🤣🤣 nearly fell off my chair! Looked anemic and contained about 0.5% meat. My sisters breakfast was cold and did not contain what was asked for. It was taken back to reheated. I walked out completely discussed! My sister's breakfast did not see the light if day. My husband and brother in law ate some of their..... very brave that will be reappear later 💩🤮 We requested a refund as I didn't eat and the manager who was half decent looked as though she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her refunded all of our bills. Little tip for the manager get a new job love! Environmental health will be closing this place! Won't be returning!!!!

The staff in this pub are so let down by Green King, they are amazing! This is the reason I have given it 3 stars. They are working really hard but there clearly is not enough of them to cope with the business. Long waiting...

Excellent service from attentive and friendly staff. Wednesday is Curry Day. Go for the Special ... Lovely! We are definitely coming back.
