Service from Millie and Chloe was absolutely amazing!!!

Came here with my family and the staff and service was lovely by Millie would 100% recommend this pub

Unfortunately although the food was freshly prepared it was only warm, they were understaffed that day so we didn't say anything, but a little disappointed

My first time. It was my first time. And it was not my kind of food.the playground was small .AND THE FOOD was bad.my pizza was like soggy lettuce and the pasta was dry as a bone and we did not get my money back.i am age 8

20 mins stood at the bar with absolutely no recognition (18:30) Customers at the bar asking if behind the bar needs any help. Table numbers missing from old varnish peeling tables, One member of staff on the bar. We decided to eat here and in the end I myself ordered a just eat and waited outside for it. My food got here quicker than the food from out the kitchen ordered by my work colleague. Cheers claire 👍 il drive right on by next time. Terrible experience.

Not enough staff to serve customers. Back log of customers. No one to greet you on arrival and then had to queue to ask if it was self service with tables. Then ordered on App didn’t receive an email then had to go and ask if they received my order to find my drink just sat behind the bar.

We dined here after staying at the Premier Inn across the car park. We had both an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. There were 8 of us in our group from around the country who meet up once a year for dinner and a catch-up, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were polite and friendly throughout. All our meals arrived efficiently, on time and together. The food was very good, well presented, hot, served efficiently and with good humour. We all enjoyed ourselves and happily went our separate ways after breakfast more than willing to recommend this venue to others. 10/10 for the staff, food, and cleanliness. Thank you to all who worked here and looked after us.

Today the food was bad. Always order the same thing and it's normally fantastic. That's when gary is there he is really good at cooking the mix grill 👌 but today don't know who was cooking it was really bad.

Went here for a family lunch today and it took a long time for the food to be served but it was 100% worth the wait and unlike other places, the chips were just the right temperature for me and I didn't have to wait for them to cool down, definitely coming back again

As soon as we walked in the pub was empty and the manager clearly didn’t want us there, it was an issue even to find us a table (4 adults 3 children) we were the only ones in the pub and food was delayed coming out (supposed to be all together but the kids meals came last! Not ideal with hungry children) when it did come the children’s pasta looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for half an hour. After noticing once paid they had not given us the ‘kids eat for £1 Mondays’ we queried with staff. Staff member said they would speak to manager and we could see them querying behind the bar, the ‘manager’ didn’t even come over to us just shouted across the bar to us whilst we were sitting there. For one a manager who couldn’t even be bothered to come from behind the bar to have a conversation says a lot! We got up and spoke to the manager at the bar, as he was too lazy to come to us! He stated the menus on the table are ‘generic’ so they are not correct, we advised him that’s false advertising don’t advertise for something if it’s untrue. The ‘manager’ kept arguing with us and saying read the menu online. He was really hard work to even have a conversation with. After back and forth he eventually refunded us the money and his words were ‘go away and don’t come back’ which we ABSOLUTELY would not. You do not speak to customers like that. He was a RUDE man and I’m surprised if the pub will have any customers left. NEVER AGAIN. Avoid like the plague!!!

The attitude was appalling, we didn’t even get as far as ordering food. The pub was busy outside with very noisy families (not a problem) so we decided to sit inside. Despite there being many empty tables, suddenly the only table that was available was in the worst position in a dark corner. The attitude of the member of staff was really bad and unfriendly, so we left and went somewhere else.

it's a Hungry Horse!, save room for your main course!, great food, great service, great staff if you've been to one you have been to them all.

Unfortunately when using out of season the restaurant facilities were closed prior to me arriving on site with last orders for food being 20:45. Breakfast however was plentiful and well presented with helpful staff a good selection. The English breakfast was cooked to order and cooked to your liking.

We went here for a Sunday dinner booked in advance ....my youngest wanted Mexican pasta on the menu we were told it was out of it so picked something else .... Sunday roast beef were sold out too they only get in 50 covers . This was so disappointing and had to order at the bar no table service unless ordered through the app man behind the bar had an attitude on him when I asked is there anything else unavailable... ended up having jerk chicken and rice ....food was reasonably priced and tasted good

Went there with a few friends for a nice evening out on a Sunday, originally tried to order sunday roasts however those and many other menu items were not available. When we eventually got our food after not being told how to order, it came stone cold, chicken wings were bare and we were asked to pay for sauce, burgers were disgusting, steak was not cooked to correct temperature and the drinks were watered down. After complaining we were offered a new corn on the cob, but were unable to get money off as we were asked to pay before eating. We could also hear other tables discussing how bad thier food was meaning this is probably a regular occurance

Brilliant. Off the beaten track a bit but if it wasn't for the fact we stayed at the hotel opposite we would have missed it. cant argue for the value and the staff really seemed happy with what they are doing.

Nice variety of gluten free food. Very busy and noisy the night we went. Great price for the quality of food.

Had a nice dinner, food was surprisingly well cooked and delicious and the portion was so big I had no space for pudding unfortunately!

Myself and a couple of mates went to the mill for some cheeky drinks and the place was packed! Everyone seemed to have the same idea, the atmosphere was amzing! Good vibe, great music and ecen better bar staff i believe her name was Paris. She had a great energy and amzing banter . Nice to see a happy face that actually enjoys their job

Went for lunch mid week, and there was a steady stream of customers. The ladies working were helpful when using the app didn't show a meal we wanted to order. I would advise downloading the app prior to going if it is your first time. It will save you some time. Please note: you can just order at the bar as well. Found the food to be reasonably priced with plenty of variety and options for dietary requirements. Portions were a good size, and everything tasted good. Overall a good experience and meal

Very poor meals all cold ended up with not paying for the meals as it was very poor service over 1.5 hour wait for food hardly any people in the pub. Loads of items not available

Many items on menu not available. When food came out it was cold and some inedible. Two of our party didn't even receive their meals and those that were delivered weren't eaten. Definately won't be returning

Had a craving for some decent quality pub grub. A few of my customers in the local area suggested The Mill, and I’m glad that they did. Fantastic value for money, really nice staff with a friendly welcome. My wife is as fussy as they come and she could find no fault at all with anything there. Hopefully next time I’ll have room for pudding. Well worth the drive over from Hastings. And I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Food is OK, good menu,service is good but the soft furnishings a very stained and dirty. Almost afraid it will dirty my clothes when sitting on it. Shamefully neglected.

Main course of fish and chips had a lot of oil on the plate which we let slide but then came pudding, we had hot chocolate fudge cake, this came out cold, I asked the server if this could be heated and he said that the cream had already been put on, I said it’s supposed to be hot chocolate fudge cake and this is cold to which he responded with a huff that it is supposed to be served luke warm! The server appeared unbothered, arrogant and rude. The whole experience was not even worth the cheaper prices of the food at the mill! I will not be going back

We went to breakfast with the family and it was just as good as usual. Lots of choices. Staff was really nice and accommodating.

It was fabulous food and the staff were so kind as well and it was a good buffet as well .

Staff very friendly but the premises are freezing cold, third visit this year, was cold on the previous 2 occasions as well. Food not piping hot either, although tasty. But will not be returning until weather is much warmer. 95% of customers were sat in their coats.

Management refused to honour promotional offer on the guest table of £5 Epic Dishes. Charged full price. After raising point with staff offer leaflet still available on all the tables.

Always friendly staff, great value food and drinks a very welcoming pub. I haven't had a bad experience yet so very happy.

Great place to eat, eat here quite regularly and never had a problem, great value and plenty of choice, also have set deals on different days, the staff are nice and friendly, always quick service no matter how busy, plenty of parking and garden out the back for those hot summer days and a play park for the children

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, very clean, fantastic friendly staff who couldn't have helped more with my disabled mum. Will definitely visit every time we visit Eastbourne, would even travel down for 1 night just to have a meal here.

I have to agree with Gavin Baxter (no relation) the manager has been very rude & nasty with my wife & i a few times. As for the cook they need to go on a cooking curse. It's a waste of time complaining even to the head office they contacted myself agreeing with me but nothing has been done to resolve the issue.

Manager was rather rude before we even took our seat, if your kitchen can't deal with bookings and walk ins then get new kitchen staff.The speed of service was terrible at the bar. For the price ,the food is fine. Bar staff are slow as a week in the jail.

Nice place to sit and eat for families, if you want peace, get a sandwich and go to the beach.

Attitude of the restaurant manger was terrible.came in for a birthday meal .of 12 ...the Xmas dinner was terrible not even real turkey .it was the bernard Matthews turkey roll ..the meal was cold .they couldn't even bring at the cake 🎂 for my friends birthday they refused to do it .never go back again

This is our sixth visit over the last two months to find there wasn't any draught IPA again also no ice for drinks Tesco is just up the road to buy some also the food on this visit was very poor we did receive a courtesy check but everyone had finished There also seemed to be very few staff for a Sunday

Another visit to this warm and friendly pub. As I stay at the premier inn opposite this is always very handy for me. A lovely welcome by the staff ordered a bar snack and a drink. Service was great food was very tasty. Thank you all I will return again next year

Had a great Breakfast with mates. Ordered off the menu and was informed that it would be cheaper to an all you could eat. Staff nice and down to earth, made me feel very welcome.

Good food good price great staff

Out of the way pub over a mile from the town centre, but well worth the effort to visit here. Good atmosphere about the place and while i did not eat here his time they have a varied menu. Good friendly service and not too pushy, just what the casual visitor requires

My self and my wife were on a romantic night away and wanted something close to the hotel and the mill was right next door and we are so glad we ate there. We both had the mixed grill and it was perfect the service was fabulous the only slight negative was the restaurant was a bit chilly.

We ordered on the app and the drinks came within 2 minutes of ordering! The food arrived quickly and was piping hot and really tasty, the staff were helpful and the place was clean. We really like it here.

1.Breakfast...unfortunately no cook in the house.... So only continental breakfast... Offer very manageable and not refilled...counter and dishes partly dirty...the waitress probably doesn't have time to take care of it...sitting in the corner with her cell phone...gross...leftover food from the night before on the windowsill... . I was here last time...

Table 21 ...... 22/10/2024 12:30 (ish) ordered sizzling steak & full monty ... full monty steak was wrapped in something strands ( like the hairs pulled from a plug hole ) tangled ! I brought to the attention and showed a member of staff and was offered a silly pudding in return 😡. I have used this to eat many times in the past and never had a issue until today. Would I recommend to family & friends ?... not after todays find. It was utter disgusting to say the least !

my husband, my self and my 3 young children went for dinner on Sunday the 20th of October and I we had a fantastic experience, the food was great, I had the roast with 2 meats and my husband a spicy burger and the kids had wraps and pasta, the food came quickly and was super hot and tasty! you could tell nothing bad been sitting long at all! the kids wraps came with so many bits and we really big portions. well worth the money! we will definitely be going back!

Lovely welcoming staff, normal pub food though, but brilliant service from the front of house team. Food is valued for money.

Went for dinner ordered a rare steak sent it back twice as steak came out medium. The chef came out and told me he knew how to cook a steak been doing it for 30 years was very abusive. The manager came and spoke to me told me company policy not too cook rare steak. This was nowhere to be seen on menus. Was offered replacement item or refund by then I had lost my appetite.

Part of a party that came for a birthday, I'm so happy we did, the food fantastic, the staff even better along with the prices. A lovely lady brought us out meals and checked if we were all ok, and a nice young chap brought us out puds, Ethan and Shara , we asked the manager for their name as everyone went above and beyond to make this a good day.

Nice Friday lunch with the family, the staff were polite, the man who served us was happy and polite and the young lady who checked on us was kind.

In the past I have give a good reviews but yesterday was more than bad.Two hour wait for our main course lots of unuesfull information.One person in the kitchen not the customers fault this is down to bad management.Not sure we will go there again although our grandchildren like it.

Not a very good experience. Standard of food was disappointing, tasteless, and gave me an evening in the toilet. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We only popped in for a drink,busy at 2pm with people eating and nice buzzy atmosphere. Took a large table and my only criticism would be that food had not been cleaned from the floor after others had eaten there.

We were staying in the Premier Inn next door for a few days, so booked in for evening meal and breakfast. We booked ahead knowing our first night was a Saturday, and glad we did. Table was all ready for us so we decided to order our food and drink on the Greene King app. This is a fantastic development, your menu is all ready to go telling you what is available and what isn't. Drinks and food ordered and within 5 minutes our drinks had arrived at our table and was soon followed by our mains ( highly recommend the Korean BBQ chicken burger!). There was a bit of a wait for dessert whilst the team were dealing with a disgruntled customer. We found the staff friendly and very helpful and a good ambience in the restaurant. Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn affair. Continental and cereals all set up, and cooked breakfast made to order so everything is fresh and hot. Only grumble would be the shortage of bread for toast. Overall we couldn't fault the service or the staff and wouldn't hesitate to come back again in the future. Great value for money!

Charlie was great. Very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation on a Wednesday night and had 5 of us waiting for a meal. We were told a table should clear in about 30 mins. We waited over 3 hours for a table. Many tables were available but apparently 5 of us were too many for them to serve/seat due to "health and safety reasons". We eventually had to pull 2 tables at the bar in order to be able to be served. We had family over from South Africa and we wanted to show them a good night and Unfortunately the service from staff (besides Charlie) was very unwelcoming. Myself and the rest of our party feel this pub/restaurant would be better managed by Charlie as he bends over backwards for his customers, where as the rest of the staff couldn't give a damn about anything.

Table of 5 was to many. They refused to serve us.

Staying at the hotel across the road for a few nights. The team have been ever so helpful and the food fantastic. The pub can go from one extreme to another but unfortunately this is not in the teams control but they handled everyday perfectly. Will be back for sure

The food was very good value for money. The staff excelled themselves and were so helpful even though at times they were extremely busy but always polite and smiling faces.

My daughter and new son in law held their wedding reception here, what an amazing place, all the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. On the day the venue was set up perfectly the way we asked,the atmosphere was amazing on the night and everyone had a great time. The food was delicious and served quickly and to everyone's needs. Although the whole staff did an excellent job, a special thank you to Curtis, Rhys and Charlie. Will definitely be visiting again one day.

Came here with my family during our weekend away. Got to say was a bit disappointed. We had booked and were given a table behind a group of very loud, drunk and swearing adults. The staff never asked them to quiet down at all even after a woman near us complained. A lot of the food wasn’t available. The service was ok. Tables very sticky and lots of empty glasses and plates around. All in all quite rough. Won’t be going back again

My wife and I had a reception here after our wedding. They went above and beyond, catering to our requests setting up the space, and even bringing out the food in an orderly and timely manner. I want to particularly thank Curtis, who helped to manage and ensure the space was ready and all our decorations were laid out and aesthetic, Rhys, for laying out the cakes perfectly and helping to cook our food to perfection, and Charlie for being so friendly and helpful throughout the entire evening. I would highly recommend this place for events as well as just general dining in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, you cannot help but wish to go back.

Nice staff and good food at a reasonable price. Be careful if you have allergies as they did mess up my meal but they corrected it and gave me a refund with no hassle.

This is one of our local restaurants to visit. It has improved since the last time we visited in the food and service. We were served by Ethan, and he was very helpful throughout our visit. I recommend that you check out the deals because it's worth the money. I had the big plate special chicken korma curry for £10 you get the curry and rice, with chips, naan bread, 3 onion bhajis, 2 poppadoms, mango chutney and mint dip! As well as a drink! Love a bargain!
