Close to beach and plenty shops about really good value for money and nice staff

The location was awesome. Unfortunately that was the only good thing about the hotel. The rooms were not even close to the standard of images advertised on their website. Must say, good editing! Was very disappointing when we got there as the receptionist wasn't professional at all and was rude when we tried to verify about having paid for the sea view room. When we got to the room, even the hygiene standards were extremely low. The floor wasn't clean at all, there were stains of drinks on the bed-side tables and the bathroom smelt of bleach. Looking at the hygiene standards, we had to check if there's any bedbugs. We couldn't stand the room even for a night. We had to vacate the room the same day. Poorest quality service and hotel I have ever seen in the UK. Extremely disappointing.

Because there were bed bugs in the room, I can't give it a high rating. I caught about a dozen bed bugs in one night, blood-sucking bed bugs. Makes it impossible to sleep. The room looked exactly like the booking photo. But once you enter, you will find that the facilities are very old and cheap. There is a problem with the hot water supply. The toilet kept running and the noise disturbed sleep. The reception is not open very long, so early check-in is not possible, even just to drop off your luggage. Hygiene products such as shower gel and shampoo are also very poor. The room is not well soundproofed. The bedding was not in good hygiene, with a lot of hair and foreign matter. The bathroom was also not very clean. Wifi is not bad. The heating is quite sufficient. If it wasn't on the side of the road outside the window, it would be quite quiet. Because the sound insulation between rooms is not good, if the people next door are noisy, they will be heard. The location is okay, opposite the pier and about 15 minutes' walk to the train station. Overall, I do not recommend this accommodation. Just because of the hygiene issues, there is no need to stay here. Even if the price is low.

Possibly the worst hotel in Eastbourne. Paper thin walls. Staying here at the moment. Room smells of smoke. Too many people in too small a space without consideration of other guests. Above our room is an ‘apartment’ / knocking shop with doors hanging off hinges. Garbage hole. If you want to sleep - don’t stay here.

I don't like it, I canceled 4 days of a week's reservation, and they don't want to refund me. There is no one to talk to. The receptionist does not collaborate at all and is only at the reception for a few hours in the afternoon.

The hotel is in great location and staff were welcoming and friendly.

Perfect hotel for the price right on the seafront and staff were brilliant highly recommend.

A great place to stay when in Eastbourne because apart from the fantastic location I can always be sure of being made very welcome and well looked after by Junaid and his team.

Everyone from staff are really helpful and nice. Hotel is really clean in general, really clean bed sheets and towels and the beds are comfortable.

The staff at the hotel made sure we were looked after, we had an issue with the room bookings for the 3rd day but they were able to accomodate us to our needs and did so very kindly. Just for management feedback, it would be better customer experience if 1. The walls and ceilings are newly painted 2. Replace shower curtains and bed headboard, just easier materials to clean and make them look clean. This was just for our room and im sure they work and plan to enhance their managment of the rooms and service. Thann you for your hospitality, you made our stay in Eastbourne very pleasant

In winter, you could hear the wind between the gaps of the hotels, but otherwise it is a modernly equipped room and a very helpful receptionist. + beautiful apartment, close to the sea, you can hear seagulls in the morning, amazing place - draft between hotel walls (in December) - extremely soft beds (our backs hurt after our stay)

Extremely rude staff. They did not let me check in because I was 10 min late for check-in and asked for £20 extra although this was not mentioned anywhere. Finally, they refused to check me in when I mentioned I would leave a bad review.

I had a shocking experience at The Pier Hotel, Eastbourne, and I strongly urge others to avoid staying here. The entire ordeal was a nightmare from start to finish. When I arrived a little earlier than the 2 pm check-in time, the front door was locked, and there was a piece of paper attached saying it would only be open from 2 pm to 10 pm. This is highly unusual and unprofessional for a hotel. I returned at 2 pm and was greeted by a receptionist named Muhammad, who told me that the room I had booked—a single room with a bath—was no longer available due to “bad bugs.” When I asked if he meant “bed bugs,” he curtly corrected me but offered no apology for the inconvenience or lack of communication beforehand regarding this health hazardous conditions they were in. I reluctantly agreed to accept a different room, as there were no other options, but when I asked about their lost key policy (they charge £60 if a key is lost but no one will be there to collect my keys at the reception when I check out at 10am), the receptionist suddenly became hostile. He shouted at me, told me I could no longer stay, and claimed he would cancel my booking. His behaviour was completely unprofessional and shocking, leaving me stranded in Eastbourne and scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. The hotel itself is run-down and feels abandoned. The restaurant and bar areas are barricaded from outside with rubbish around and look nothing like the photos online. To make matters worse, after I reported the incident to the online booking agents the hotel falsely claimed that I refused to stay when in fact it was their staff who refused to accommodate me. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in or outside the UK. It is unprofessional, dishonest, and in terrible condition. I’ve reported the incident to the online booking agent, including photos to prove the state of the property. Avoid this place at all costs—Eastbourne is a lovely town, but this hotel will ruin your trip.

Booked this to receive an email stating no parking permits and the bar and restaurant were shut. Sent an email asking about options for these and never received a reply. The room we were given looked like someone else was already using and so complained and got given another room. Luckily we discovered this while the reception was open or we would have had no options. Manager explained they had bought the hotel and were learning. We won’t be staying again.

It is a beautiful and traditional hotel near the sea. It has been renovated, it is very clean, it has an elevator, it offers Neflix and also parking facilities. Currently their prices are quite reasonable.

They have to improve cleaning and reception service a lot. The only positive thing about this place is the location.

We would not recommend this hotel at all we were on our way had a medical emergency and my friend was hospitalised rang the hotel to be told not to worry we can reschedule well rang the hotel when all was good to be told ring back in a couple of weeks we will honour your booking this as not happened after numerous messages and phone calls DO NOT RECOMMEND you ask us to reach out to you be as usual no one is answering your phone not happy

A booking was made and paid for a stay at this hotel in May 2024, unfortunately 1 of our party was taken ill on route and was taken by ambulance to the nearest A& E Hospital. One of our party rang the hotel telling them of our situation to be told not to worry and they would honour our booking and reschedule it. After ringing numerous times to speak to someone, we have been told we can re-book but we have to PAY AGAIN. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

£150 for a double bedroom with bath and views. We had the views. But no bath. My boyfriend and I, we felt so uncomfortable on the mattress. Money not worth it

Old tired rooms. Advertised to me through tour company to have a grill, bar, tea room and restaurant. Has a tired bar only and will serve breakfast. Maybe needs upgrade.

Stayed 1 night room and bathroom were clean but dated bed was ok..All the staff we met were helpful breakfast wasn't great though.

The positives. It's clean. Friendly staff, great location, very nice lounge area. The negatives, the bar is extremely poorly stocked, the rooms are small, TV didn't work, and it's very very noisy. You could hear every other room with ease, including the toilet. Would I stay again? Purely for the location and cost, though if the Premier Inn nearby is free then that would be a better bet sadly.

We booked hotel for the location and the live music in the bar. Location didn’t disappoint, but the bar was closed for the weekend due to staff shortages… advertised on the website as being open thurs to sun every week, no mention of being closed. Disappointing. We were then woken up by somebody coming into our room in the middle night?? The person said ‘I was told this one was empty’. How on earth can this be allowed to happen? Why are there no chains on the doors? Absolutely awful. I spoke to the lady on reception in the morning who said they had issues with the heating so may have been the night porter or may have been the plumber. She was lovely and apologetic but didn’t know for sure who this person was. Surely logs are kept for maintainance people coming in and out… On a plus note the room was clean and the breakfast was lovely

Great staff so friendly great view and handy to park and a great way of paying for your parking Just thr rooms are slightly dated as I have a bad back and the bed was very low and the room was quiet small Otherwise it was very comfort stay Good value breakfast would be better if they had a buffet with hot food to.pick up what you like Overall we enjoy it LC

Great hotel, very clean, great service. Staff polite and helpful. Good location right opposite the pier on the seafront near the bus stop outside to take you to the town or Hastings. Rooms are lovely and warm and clean and the the beds are very comfortable. You have tea and coffee making facilities in the room along with a hairdryer and fridge. The service is good, breakfast is great buffet breakfast with cereals but English breakfast is cooked to order so is hot and fresh. Nice large breakfast. Only a short walk to the shops. Lift to all rooms.

Right opposite the pier as the name would suggest. Stayed here twice now, both in different rooms and both perfect. Staff great and friendly. The pub below the restaurant is great for a beer and too watch some sport or live bands. Shout out to Tomasz behind the bar.

No problems with an overnight stay here. Upgrade to "Deluxe" not really that deluxe. Bathroom esp could use some TLC. Room had some nice bits of furniture etc. Staff helpful. Great location for pier, seafront and local shops.

Great hotel clean and tidy. Spacious family room great service and excellent breakfast. The young Chinese lady on the desk couldn't do enough for us very professional let us keep our bags at the hotel for the day . We will book again

Vine a Eastbourne para pasar el día y decidí comer las costillas, los maridos eran como si la panza de cerdo no pudiera cortarlas, las mías eran como si las hubieran calentado en el microondas. El chef se acercó para ver si todo estaba bien y dijo que ningún esposo ni siquiera podía cortar el suyo. Sin oferta de nada más ni devolución de dinero. Terrible.

Este es un gran bar tanto por dentro como por fuera, pero nos quedamos sentados hasta tarde por un par de noches mirando a la gente. La cerveza era buena, el personal muy amable y tienes una gran vista tanto del muelle como de las calles principales a lo largo del paseo marítimo y hacia la ciudad. Recomendamos este bar para parejas en particular.

Realmente acogedores dueños, comida a precios fantásticos. Cóctel de marisco que teníamos y Brie para empezar, pero fuimos a probar su nuevo rocas calientes principal, que era fantástico y muy sabroso. Usted elige lo que quieres y partes de carne tienen un rock sizzling para cocinar a su gusto. Tan buena comida y muy agradable para nuestro aniversario de boda. Although the menu starts of exiting, it soon gets down to fish and chips, etc. Service is a bit hit and miss - quite rapid at times and painfully slow at others (I had to wait 15 minutes for my bill). The food was OK generally.

Wow, thought I was going to miss this but had a try out meal on my last night, Excellent, highly recommended

Delicious food made according to your taste. Spaghetti with chicken to die for with moth watering spices! Hose very friendly and the cook exec;lent.

Full english breakfast, wie man es sich wünscht. Und dazu ein überaus freundlicher Service. So startet man gut in den Tag.

Unfortunately the restaurant is not open any more. May be re opening shortly. If I return to Eastbourne I will review again.

Fresh juice,variety of Vegetarian,non vegetaarian dishes are adequate.Nice service.only breakfast time can be extended upto 10 am.

Organised a reunion weekend for about 50 people. The management went to every effort to cater for the needs of all our guests making it truly memorable. Special thanks to Nathan, Chris and Lee who really went the extra mile for the whole weekend. This will be the start of a yearly event that will definitely be here again.

Just don't go there. Food poor, not hot, boring. Better to go to Cosmos or just for fish and chips somewhere. Or even a Harvester. JUST DON'T GO THERE!

The restaurant was newly refurbished, very clean but somewhat garish. The staff were friendly but did not know the difference between soda and sparkling water.The food was the real let down, poor menu, poor quality and poor cooking. It is unlikely to flourish with this standard.

we went here first in september last year , the suday lunch deal is very good , nice hotel , nice staff although the manager has left and its a new one now , he was good and very friendly . always go back for lunch when im there

I couldnt understand how we got seats overlooking the pier on eastbournes busiest day - airbourne. Every restauraunt was packed. " The pier" overlooking the pier and the air display was half empty. No staff in sight upon entry, none. I took a seat and waited. After a short wait i went to the back and found the manager and ordered on the spot. It took several attempts. After 45 minutes waiting we asked about our food ( roast sunday lunch) the waitress explained that our order was on the way. After a bit the manager came back and said the chef wasnt doing the chips we had ordered for our child. We ordered another roast. After a long wait myself and another customer asked the manager if our food was due anytime soon. We are busy he said, and we are only 2 star. After another wait we left. I would have paid for the drinks. But nobody was there to take my money. 5 people walked out ....

We had breakfast (only) at the hotel this morning, very impressed - The hotel and restaurant are under new management and we were very pleased to try a breakfast this morning. Chris the manager was very friendly, the breakfast was nicely presented and very tasty - and all at a good price. I'll be back in a couple of weeks to try out the sunday lunch.
