The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Can't wait for the yeoman to reopen really missed everyone 🙂

I had lunch here with a couple of very good friends. I was impressed by the improvements that have been made since the refurbishment last year. Everything is tasteful and in great condition now but the old world charm hasn't been lost. Service by Liz was super-friendly and efficient. Prices are slightly higher than I expected but the quality is good. The sea bass that 2 of us had was excellent and the chicken pie looked great too. Our desserts of mini chocolate brownie & ice cream and lemon tart were delicious. The portions of everything were a decent size. It was a really enjoyable meal in a very pleasant environment.

Turned away because they can't be bothered to take extra walk ins, no signage to state as much and generally a poor experience

Visited recently with a group of four, and while I have to say the service inside was excellent—friendly, attentive staff and a really nice atmosphere—the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a £100 parking fine we all received for a visit that lasted just about an hour. Most expensive four pints ever! None of the staff mentioned anything about needing to register our car or pay for parking, and after looking into it online, it seems this is a common issue at this location. All four of us in the group were fined, so it doesn’t seem like a one-off or user error. It’s a real shame, because it puts people off coming back, no matter how good the service is. Would strongly recommend the management look into this and make the parking situation clearer or more user-friendly—especially if it’s causing this many problems.

Walked in today, no table booked. The manager greeted us and advised fully booked, but after reviewing table plan, found us a table for 8. Excellent food, excellent service, good value for money. We will definitely return!

Very good service! Our waitress, Debbie, is always extremely friendly whenever we go and the food is always incredible! Would recommend!

Food was average pub food, they were very busy with few staff so maybe that’s why it wasn’t better quality.

Highly recommend the bell. Food is delicious and service is perfect. Our server, Sue, was lovely! Big smile and excellent service! We will definitely be coming back.

As a removal company we often find our staff are struggling to find places willing to let us park. The brilliant staff at the Crown were accommodating, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere welcoming. All in all the local area is lucky to have such an excellent venue. Went for a roast dinner With the family to celebrate a birthday. would not recommend. the food was luke warm the roast beef was under cooked told the waitress but told there was nothing thay could do will not be going back.

Never visited before. Super welcome on a late Saturday afternoon from both young staff behind bar, one male, one female. Poured two superb pints. Sparkling glasses, clean tables. Nice buzz from happy customers. Thoroughly recommended. Thank you. (Gave 5 stars for food, rather than zero - we didn't eat)

This has always been a favourite of mine for many years. I recently took the family and it was fantastic as always. Amazing food, fantastic service and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended
