Cherry Orchard in The Vale of Glamorgan

The food was delicious, had a really good time, and we will definitely eat there again. The toilets we're really clean. The service was amazing,the young lady named Kim, was very polite, friendly, did her job very well. I do think that the service from Kim, is a big factor of myself and my family returning to The Cherry Orchard.

From First step until last it was nothing but brilliant! Me and my family entered and were served quickly to a table and service. Which was handy as we have kids. Once ordered we was looked after very well by I believe her name was “Sam” *apologise if that’s incorrect*… the food was absolutely amazing!!! All clean plates, will for sure deffiently be returning with the family! Hats of to the chef, Chefs manager, general manger and the way the place is run! Thank you for a great experience! All the little things you done made a huge difference to our dining experience!

Really nice place. Clean, well maintained and friendly staff. Food was great, not much of a wait once ordered. Alcohol is a little expensive for a pub. £4.50 for a pint of Carling up to £6.50 for premium brands. I think they lean more into the eating than drinking, but plenty of options for both. I ordered steak, Sirloin, blue... Nice cut, not a bad price considering the prices lately. Would go again and a nice place to treat a family member. I know pints are expensive now, but c'mon, play the game a bit.

Had a lovely family meal here the staff were absolutely amazing sam the manager made sure we had everything we needed she was lovely and chatty and that’s what every place needs:) the food was lovely my kids enjoyed their food and had stuff to do there. I 100% recommend this place you won’t regret it!!!

The barmaid behind the bar Alex i thinks its name was is very rude. After waiting for her to serve me after she had been playing with her nails and rubbing her unibrow she then spoke to me with no manners whatsoever. She just gave the impression she didnt want to be here and very fed up!

Unfortunately they were short staffed so the order took a while. On arrival the food was cold the fries overcooked and very crunchy. We had to go and ask where our drinks were as submitted order 7.50 and still nothing at 8.25. Wouldn't recommend

Had a nice chilled afternoon with some friends. It was relaxing.

I met up with 3 friends to enjoy the food, drink and quiz. We all had a great time, the food arrived promptly and was delicious, the drinks were reasonably priced and the quiz was great fun!! Thanks Cherry Orchard, see you in a couple of weeks!

First time coming was alittle buzzing ordered food but some first choices where not possible, then the bitter was off and had to wait to get replaced. Then it's advertised 2 cocktails £11.00 but tried to say it was from this price but doesn't say 'from, waited nearly 20 mins for them to be served. Meals came out after nearly an hour wait, the sausage and mash with Caramelised red onion was raw chopped onion, the tikka curry was microwaved so much so it the chicken could bounce and take someone's eye out. Whilst waiting for cocktails and food staff stood behind the bar at least 4 of them, chatting together. The pub itself is a nice setting but poor service and food, this was our experience.

You don’t sell any of the coke ranges. I’m not a lover of Pepsi. You are missing out on a lot of customers. I live across the road from the Cherry Orchard along with several of my friends. I would love to have you as my local but I don’t enjoy my vodka with Pepsi. It’s important for me to have a drink that I enjoy and not drink what’s only available. There is a group of us locally that think the same. They don’t use your pub/restaurant for same reasons. Your app is not updated when things go out of stock. I ordered and paid for two desserts using the app, to then be told one of them is out of stock. I was told that I need to pay for my dessert again and be refunded for my first choice, which would take 3 days to be refunded. The app is clearly not working when things go out of stock. I hope this is constructive criticism and not coming across negative. Please, please, bring in the coke ranges, so that I can have you as my local. I’ve noticed that the clubs/pubs/restaurants that do provide both options Pepsi and Coke are always busy and thriving. Some light background music might help with the atmosphere. Hope this helps.

We were here yesterday evening for dinner & drinks for a colleague's retirement/birthday, there were quite a few of us & the staff were amazing, even down to cutting our own brought cake for us. The food was delicious & great that it was all served at the same time. The atmosphere was great & would definitely recommend a visit.

The food was very poorly served. 1 meal out of 6 was served and we had to complain to the management so that the other 5 meals were serve together. The decor makes the premises look like a public toilet with black & white tiles etc. Very poor atmosphere. The only good thing was the free parking.

We had a wake yesterday and this is based on the buffet they provided. Cost is £500 for sausage rolls which were hard, crisps and cheese, ham sandwiches pickled onions and pork pies which tasted happy value. No refilling table we could of got all that for under £30 very disappointed in food.

Dogs are allowed in this place while people are eating? My 8 year old son is scared of dogs , one was allowed in barking we had to leave half our food to leave because he was scared, terrible

We came today for a Birthday Meal, a group of 7 of us. The food was lovely and came out fresh and hot. The staff were lovely and efficient doing their jobs. Thank you for the great service.

Thursday night pub quiz is great, Maddison is a fantastic MC - always a delight! Definitely recommend.

We come every Thursday for the pub quiz and always have the friendliest interactions with the staff. Madison smashes the quiz every time! We were gutted when she went away to travel so we’re extra happy that she’s back (please don’t let her leave again).

Overpriced . Do not go there if you want a PUB . Pretending to be a pub and charging extortionate drink prices . Did a review on trip advisor and got an automated piece of rubbish . Crap attitude . NEVER AGAIN .

Ordered soup of the day and garlic mushrooms, leek soup was a bit weak and wasn't hot Bread was dry I sent it back. Staff friendly though, but won't be going back

I had the pleasure of being served by a handsome young man with dark hair and glasses. He was very polite, pleasant, and made me feel welcome in the pub. He was well versed in the specials menu, I took his advice and very much enjoyed my juicy burger. It was reasonably priced, and the environment was inviting. Being able to watch the football with my meal was an added bonus.

Very easy to book, staff are great, food is good. We visit quite often and have a great experience every time (or we wouldn't come back). The ability to tip on our debit card would be great as we don't carry cash.

A bit run down. Mens toilets were disgusting but the women's were clean.

Absolutely recommend 100% have not been here in years. Heard few bad reports but since coming here today (3 adults - myself, hubby and dad) will definitely be back. Service was brilliant, food was great and they all worked as a team. The lady behind the bar I got talking to had only taken over last few weeks and it was busy which was great to see. Just found this great place to eat. The waitress taking the order was so cool. I told her my go to was a great burger. She said the burgers were lush. So I had the Cowboy Burger, which was juicy and full of flavour. Th onion rings were nice and crispy. The wife had Hunters chicken. My wife enjoyed her chicken, which was moist and not dry. I was glad I took the waitress at her recommendation and was not disappointed. Think her name was Millie. Great front of house person to have. Proffesional and funny at the same time. Made me and the wife really comfortable. Will come again soon

She recommended a few of her favourite dishes and they most certainly didn’t disappoint. She made us laugh and made the experience so much more enjoyable. She is an absolute credit to your company!

The atmosphere of the pub was very welcoming, the staff behind the bar were so engaging with myself and the other customers. The pub is dog friendly, even with a treat jar at the end of the bar for my little lady. Food was enjoyable and served in a timely manner. I’ll definitely be coming back

Twenty-six members of Cornwall MG Owners visited South Wales for our 'Big Wig-End Away' - all dressed in colourful fancy dress wigs! Causing a lot of amusement to the local patrons.

Windows got mold on them plus toilets was very smelly

Zero respect for their neighbours!! They have the bottle bins emptied at 4.30 in the morning the noise is so loud it wakes us all up including small children! Every week this takes place at the same time. This cant be legal surely?? Respect your neighbours and arrange to have your bins emptied at a normal time. Absolute joke

Reason for visit was my daughters birthday a table of 9, told when we ordered food that there was a wait which we really appreciated, Curtis I believe his was name worked extremely well under pressure, well done! Only disappointing part was the kebab meal as there was hardly any meat in it but it was so busy it wasn’t worth a complaint

We had a large family gathering, and the staff were very accommodating. Alex was especially helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Told by the bar staff at little past 10pm on a Friday night that they've closed the tills and no longer want to serve people. No wonder it was deserted if that's the attitude the staff have!

Decent Marstons pub in Barry. The pub has a large car park. Inside is fairly big with lots of TV's showing sport. The food I ordered was fine and reasonably priced. There is a large outdoor eating and drinking space.

Prices are so high it's making everyone stay away, won't be going back.

Ordered from lunch menu. Service was extremely slow considering it was a bank holiday weekend. One waiter was rude. Stated couldn’t make the club sandwiches as no baguettes until mentioned it’s bread not baguette and took 3 times to clarify. When food came it was nice but half way through I tasted something odd and pulled out a ball of hair with lint on it. I immediately felt sick. One waiter ignored us so my husband went to the bar. We were given a refund just for my meal but my husband had same meal and also couldn’t eat his anymore. It was overall just disappointing and obviously felt horrified I’d had hair in my food.

For every visit we have been to cherry orchard in the last few months we have always found it the same, food is nice I will say however portion size is so small for the price, my 7 year old had a kids meal as he does everywhere we visit but the size I find is not ideal atall. Minus that every time we visit there is only ever 1 person on the bar to take food and drinks orders we always find ourself waiting In a lengthy queue for service I understand this is no fault of the bar servers but there should be other staff available to help, Unfortunately this seems to be every occasion not just a 1 off so now we always associate the place with long queue time and long food delays even when the pub isn't overly busy. This service let's the pub down massively.

A big thankyou to the staff at The Cherry Orchard. Today we took my mum for lunch there. It is the first time in a year she has been able to go out due to illness. The staff were very understanding that we were new to pushing a wheelchair and that we were going to take ages because of her needs. The food was excellent. So good that my mum ate my dessert as well as her own. We will be visiting again soon.

Won’t be going there again 🍽️🥂 wonderful service and bar service but the food was cold and bland and only 2 small pieces of chicken which were and chewy and greasy on a kabab and which was nothing like the description on the menu. And £8.25 for a glass of wine 🍷

We were a family of 3 and dropped in after being caught out later than expected. The service here was absolutely amazing, everyone was so helpful and the food was gorgeous. It was so clean and tidy too from the moment you stepped onto the premises. Things like this really make your experience more enjoyable and we will definitely be coming back and telling family and friends.

Great Service great food and great atmosphere

I took my family there for lunch yesterday .My friend and me had the hunters chicken ,the chicken was the size of a sparrow no bacon or cheese on top .Very disappointing will never go there again.

Came back recently after a bad experience with the previous manager. Heard there's a new boss lady and fair play she's brilliant! The building is cleaner, service is sharper and the atmosphere just feels better. Great to see positive change happening to this lovely pub, I'll definitely be back soon.

Popped in for a pint after shopping at 5.45pm on 16th April. The bar was busy with funeral guests so I waited patiently. When it was my turn 2 regulars arrived separately at the bar(the lady new what they were drinking before they asked) and in turn both got served before me. I left the pub and will never return. Its not just a pint the pub have lost as we used to use the pub for family meals. Well that won't be happening again.

Excellent mixed grill. Cooked well and served quickly. Nice menu but lacked some variety compered to similar pubs. Would definitely go again Recommended.

Myself and my partner visited the pub this weekend for a few drinks and some food. We were politely greeted and the service overall was brilliant and extremely welcoming! The food was great too, we will definitely be back soon.

We came in with friends and their 9 year old daughter. We are locals and would like this pub to improve so we can enjoy visiting again! Our meal was extremely disappointing: My chicken burger was dry with no salad despite the menu saying iceberg lettuce, and no burger sauce. When the meal was sent back my sweet potato fries went cold and not warmed up. It came back out with some mixed salad on (still not what was advertised) The pizza had a small hair on, a member staff came back with the same pizza and told us the chef said it wasn’t a hair it was cheese! We pointed it out and they made a fresh one. Halloumi fries had no piri dip and when we pointed that out they came with a jug of salsa. The two cowboy burgers had no lettuce on and a tiny bit of bacon and no burger sauce I would like to praise and thank Maz who provided wonderful customer service throughout our visit and couldn’t do enough to make things better. She was extremely apologetic and spent time chatting to our friend’s daughter whose pizza had to be remade offering a free desert and brought her a free lemonade. Maz is always polite and friendly, a credit to your staff! We asked for her name so we could let you know. I would like to say that the decor is the pub is getting really tatty, there is a big hole in the wall by the pool table. A panel under the urial's is missing, the window ledges have chewing gum stuck to them and covered in thick mould. I’m sorry I’ve felt the need to complain but we’ve always liked it here, it’s very handy for us and it’s a shame to see it going downhill.
