More of a restaurant than a pub these days

We visited with friends who are very particular on restaurants etc, we were all impresed with the service, next to a lovely wood fire, clean and well furnished restaurant all round, old wood beams lovely atmosphere, food order was taken swiftly when we had decided, no pressure,came to us all hot plates and food, excellent quality and plenty of it. Totally recommend will return for sure.Friends also earmarked for future, staff attentive and friendly. Well done , and thank you all, see you soon.

We've been coming here now for over 6 years. It has always been a good atmosphere. The garden is great in the summer. The food was occasionally hit and miss but have to say in the last year it's been delicious. We eat nearly once a week now. Staff very friendly over the years, Lisa, Bianca and Phoebe to name a few who always greet us with a friendly smile. The manager could do with cheering up! Dog friendly and ours loves coming in as always dog treats at the entrance. Definitely recommend. Download the App as you get deals every once in while.

We are staying at a BB local to the pub Came for some dinner and drinks What a lovely country pub 😍 Met with smiles and a hello from the staff as we walked in Food was great and had a lovely atmosphere Staff were also extremely friendly and helpful I think our table was looked after a lady called Lisa if I remember correctly She was super friendly and very attentive 🙌 We will definitely be returning here when we visit this lovely little village again . Highly recommend

Busy quiz night , still had delicious pizza with several toppings. Fab service from the team !!

No ketchup - absolutely ridiculous ordered a burger and only told they had run out of ketchup when they asked if we needed any sauces. If told before ordering I would have ordered something else. Poor waitress was apologetic but what a shambles didn’t even offer any kind of discount. Won’t be back terrible

Lovely welcoming pub, plenty of room to talk without being on top of the next table. Good sized portions, speciality burgers were delicious, topped with beef brisket. Great value due to voucher, well worth a visit.

Family meal one party had a severe nut and sesame allergy..The waitress made me aware of cross contamination on several occasions standard these days. I chose the steak as none of my allergens were listed as present. I was then told I could not have the steak as it’s cooked on a griddle using sesame .. I then asked if this could be cooked in a separate frying pan and the chef agreed..The steak was delicious. Unfortunately no starters or puddings were suitable with my allergies. The waitress was very attentive and helpful.. The wait for the puddings for my family was quite long.. one of the puddings we ordered came with a drink but the drink came first.. when I kindly asked the manager if the other puddings were coming he got quite defensive saying the drinks come out from the bar and the puddings the kitchen I tried to explain my grandson ordered the drink that comes with the mini pudding..but rather than apologising he tried to justify why the pudding wasn’t with the drink . I thought his attitude wasn’t great which was a shame as both the chef and waitress had been very accommodating.. a simple apology about the pudding being delayed would have been much more customer friendly.

Best atmosphere here !!! Really cosy and friendly environment , was sat near the fireplace and it made me feel so comfy. Staff are amazing made sure that the fire was on. Only went here for coffee and tea but it was sooo tasty and hot. Really loved it here !

Lovely Christmas Day lunch and properly looked after by a great team of staff !

Christmas dinner. Realised after the fact that I didn't get the right accompaniments with the venison. Was supposed to be dauphinoise potatoes and braised red cabbage but instead I got soggy roast poatoes, a dirty unpeeled carrot, 50 million overcooked brussels sprouts and grey parsnips. The starter of ham and melon came with unripe, hard melon. For £90 per head, this was not good enough.

Wedding going on next door when we were there. Great atmosphere and within walking distance of Holmsley Campsite.

We were given the table we requested, service was prompt and pleasant. Food excellent.

We had great Sunday lunch here today with my boys. Portions were very generous and quality of the food was great. I really appreciated that they found table for us as we did not have reservation (in 2 other pubs we went before did not even bother to have a look) staff were very friendly all around ! Fantastic atmosphere in this lovely old Pub with top service from extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good choices on the menu and the honeypot dessert was delicious as was the greens and grains salad. Would definitely recommend eating here.

Food was excellent. Staff friendly. Once we ordered mains came quite promptly. However extremely busy and waited for table to be cleared and offered deserts. Waited a long time for deserts and had ordered coffee at the same time that deserts were ordered which didn't arrive . Had to chase up coffee twice. Not staffs fault just sooo busy. Had dog with us and lovely to see water and bics supplied as had 2hour journey to meet up with relatives.

Nice family place to come, the waitress lisa was particularly attentive to the children, which made all the difference. The food was good although the wait was a bit of a problem with the little ones being hungry. Bar staff generally quite nice. We’d come again if passing.

We visited The Crown which is our local for a lunch. The old open interior is always welcoming and the staff found us an excellent table . The food was first class with a good choice of options on the menu. Thoroughly recommend.

We come to the Crown a lot. Lovely food, staff are so lovely and friendly, always a warm welcome, and it’s great using the vintage loyalty card to! Makes us come so much more! We live around 15 mins away but this is our local now!! Love it there! Thanks to you all!!

Having food allergies and dogs, this pub was ideal. I actually had a pudding which was amazing and so tasty. Great location, great food, great customer service and would like to thank all the staff and chefs. It's not often I can go to places now and feel full. Will recommend to all my friends 🧡.

Nicely cooked Sunday roast beef but let down by a 'vinigary' pint of Doom bar, which I noticed was unavailable at my next visit to the bar when l bought a pint of Old peculiar which also was off. The staff were so over worked I didn't have it in me to complain, unlike my stomach later !

We came back to enjoy some live music and a Sunday Roast and it was the most brilliant pairing. The weather was in our favour and it was lovely to sit outside. Thanks again team Crown.

Unfortunately, I have had to remove my 5-star review. We went to the Crown last evening and it was awful. My dad ordered a steak and it was so tough. He did ask for it to be well done but he couldn't even cut it. They offered to cook another one but it was nearly 9 pm by this point and we arrived for our table booking at 7 pm. The poor waitress was left to deal with the situation. Nobody from management came to apologise. We come down to the New Forest regularly but we won't use the Crown at Bransgore again. Such a shame as we had a lovely meal here earlier in the year.

Lovely pub set in an ideal location. Quite busy when we arrived for lunch. The 2 staff members coped admirably despite the demands on them. A 3rd member of staff should have been rostered to assist.

Veg for roast dinner was cold even after waiting quite a while for our meal, it states all meals made fresh, cauliflower cheese also cold, sent back the next batch was tough, we like a bite to our veg but this was tough! Manager/assistant manager pleasant and offered a refund then said it was quiet and involved process. Food came out again and still pipping hot! Real shame a duff roast !

Lovely cosy pub, great food and fantastic service that really took the time to cater for my coeliac son, taking the time to check the menus with us and speak to the kitchen, ensuring all ingredients were safe. This is not always the case so was much appreciated.

Visited this place last week, the vibe was super cozy and nice. Menu is so diverse I didn't know what to pick but thankfully Yusuf was there to recommend me the berry burst and sirloin steak combo and let me tell you it was FIRE! The steak was really juicy and delicious, will visit again

Came here for a family gathering, the food was amazing i went up to the bar to order myself a cocktail and the barmen yusuf was very helpful and recommended a delicious cocktail, would recommend and will be coming back again.

The crown is a great place to relax and the food lovely too, always professional service from all staff but Yusuf goes the extra mile every time. Would recommend without hesitation

Came in the other day for a quick get together with friends and absolutely loved it! Food was amazing, atmosphere was just as great. The barmen who’s name if i remember correctly was yusuf was absolutely amazing, very sweet and kind helped me pick out a drink as i wasn’t too sure on what to drink. An amazing experience!!

I usually don't write reviews, but this time, I had to. Was there with a few friends recently. Great atmosphere and even better food. Got the Pork Belly, and a Passion fruit martini from the bar afterwards. Yusuf recommended it and he really knew what he was doing. Great establishment, will definitely revisit!

Popped in to celebrate a friends promotion the other day and I have to say the vibe of the place was really nice. I'm not one to drink often but everyone was really enjoying the cocktails so I decided to join in and I have to praise the guy behind the bar, his drinks and attitude was awesome. I think his name was Yusuf? Funny as hell. We will be back again!

First time I've been here & will return for sure. The food was great, I had the chicken penang curry which was delicious & my daughter had the aubergine gratin, vegan dish, which she said was delicious too. Service was great & the price was very reasonable. I'd had friends recommend coming here & I'm glad I took their advice, well worth it.

If you like eating you dinner in a dog kennel this is the place to go. My wife and I went going to order food when we say three separate dogs in the garden then three separate couples walked in with a dog each then all hell broke loose barking snarling at each other and there owners shouting be quiet. . as we walked out probably about to spend £50 on food and possibly more beer. A family off 4 came in and turned around and left. Never again for us .

Loved the online orders as I didn't want to leave my dogs to go to the bar. V dog friendly. Fresh water and clean bowls available. Steak excellent.

We had a fantastic meal on Saturday the 6th of July. There were 12 of us dining for a birthday. Lisa was brilliant she took orders and served all our food. The food was well presented, and everyone cleared their plates. We all had starter mains, and some had pudding. Highly recommend.

Large carpark Garden looking pretty with hanging baskets etc. warm friendly welcome and shown to our table with a smile. Drinks order taken and delivered in a timely manner. Excellent hot food with a good choice. A friendly goodbye

Lovely ambience, the wonderful sea bass and prawns in a wine sauce served with perfect vegetables could not have been better. We were seated quickly by a lovely lady who brought our drinks to us in no time, our food arrived piping hot not long after ordering. Plenty to choose from the menu would recommend 100 per cent.

Great Service, Great Food, Great Staff and a fair price

We were a large party visiting the area and first impressions were good, a nice looking pub, easy parking, cosy atmosphere and friendly waiting staff. Unfortunately that's about it! Upon arriving around 4:30'ish we were advised that they were running a fathers day menu as we expected, yet they didn't have the teenager appealing signature beef burgers (which were sought after by our accompanying teens). We asked if something else could be done for the teens, but we were told NO. This of course disappointed our younger guests, but we were advised there were still plenty of roasts available. So the majority of us opted for the roast. The roast meat was acceptable, but the other half of the plate namely the vegetables was very poor. The potatoes couldn't be cut, the carrots were hardly roasted and some of the parsnips were brown. We were hoping that the waitress would come and ask how our food was so we could immediately feedback. They didn't. So we had to go and find someone. The person I spoke to wanted to be helpful and explained the brown veg was as a result of how they coat the veg (yet we explained how it looked so unappealing - it had put some of our guests off). The staff did say sorry, and agreed to reduce the bill slightly which was appreciated. Upon reflection, in my opinion the food is a little more expensive than other pubs along the same road. I am not sure based on my experience the premium is justified. During our time in the New Forest, we had some fantastic meals in other pubs on the same road and I would certainly recommend those ones first.

My three companions had very good meals, my steak sandwich wasn't brilliant though, not much steak and a bit chewy. Service was excellent.

Great venue even when we turned up with 10 people and 3 dogs,nothing was too much trouble and one of the best Sunday roast I have had.
