Went for a roast dinner With the family to celebrate a birthday. would not recommend. the food was luke warm the roast beef was under cooked told the waitress but told there was nothing thay could do will not be going back.

This pub is really nice having had a full refurbishment not long ago. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Beer is clean and fresh tasting. One of my favourite pubs in Marlow.

Popped in for a quick spot if lunch. Excellent deals and quick service. Tasty food and good value.

Had a lovely time tonight,well presented pub with interesting interior which was clean and cheerful, Staff had time too engaged with us in conversation and deal with our requests. Special mention for the duty manager Alex who did a professional job of producing a terrific Guinness shandy for the wife, A very unusual request, which for his first tempt,did a great job. When we are back in Marlow, will definitely make this venue a place to revisit. Well done to the staff for a enjoyable evening.

Despite having a lot of fun here last time I came (Tuesday evening), this was a far reduced experience. Though the venue still looks good and the staff friendly the food was awful. It's odd because the menu is the standard Green King one, I've had what I ordered twice before and loved it, this was bad! The chef clearly made no effort to make the most of the ingredients and it was very hard to eat. Even the cappuccino and latte we ordered was nasty. I didn't realise coffee could go so wrong with a machine. On top of this, the menu showed a code for a free non-alcoholic drink, but the code didn't work. I spoke to the waiter and he said he knew nothing about it, to so we had to pay for drinks we only offered because they were free I really didn't feel I could grumble because the staff were really friendly and the food cheap compared to elsewhere, but I won't be hurrying back any time soon. I'd rather pay more and have a half decent meal.

Staff were lovely. We were advised that food would take about an hour for service but it didn’t. It came within half an hour. Disappointed with the frozen Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. Gravy was very thick and tasteless. Stuffing very dry. Beef was lovely and plenty of it. Atmosphere was really nice though and the staff very accommodating.

I visited for drinks recently with friends and service and atmosphere built by the staff was incredible Jade was amazing as her attention to details for a customer was incredible Great experience will have food next time

Can not recommend the Marlow donkey enough, jade one of the waitresses was very friendly bubbly,welcoming and had a smile on her face throughout the shift you could tell that she really enjoys getting to know everyone that visits she was able to recommend drinks that she thought we would like and they tasted great, the food was amazing as well will definitely be coming back

Went out for a meal with the wife and kids whilst in Marlow thought we’d visit the donkey and was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of food and excellent service. especially well looked after by jade she made my wife Susan's day will definitely be back

Fantastic experience coming here, came for a quiet family meal while in the area and was overall very pleased with the service provided by all staff. Jade was especially attentive.

I visited the Marlow Donkey on Wednesday lunchtime (12th February). The service was excellent and food really good. The assistant manager, Jade, was very attentive and professional and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely visit again.

I visited last Wednesday for lunch and had the katsu curry. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Jade, who served me, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend!

My wife got food poisoning from this place. Avoid the chicken burger here!

A great time as always with dinner and drinks at Quiz Night. Highly recommended for a really enjoyable Thursday night out. Sharon is a fantastic quiz master! Also, wanted to make a shout out to Jade, who worked her socks off all evening. I imagine the pub was suffering some staff sickness that night, but Jade worked tirelessly and cheerfully keeping everything running smoothly. Well done team! See you again soon.

There were 12 of us from 9 to 78 and everyone was catered for! The fish and chips was the star but everyone was happy with their choice…. We were all full so only puds for the kids. Birthday cake later for tea! The service was good for a busy Sunday lunchtime…. We will be back again…

Staff were pleasant and we were able to choose our table. Food was tasty and good value. Decor is lively and trendy, lots of plants. We got our food quickly and all enjoyed it.

Latest - went for Sunday lunch on Remembrance Sunday - booked a booth - they also allow well behaved dogs. Today especially, they opened at 9 so people could have bacon sandwiches , etc and refreshments whilst waiting for the parade to start from the British Legion which is opposite. Friendly, helpful staff who responded to my emails to make sure I was booked and sorted. The Donkey is bright and airy with various seating options, including outside seating. Toilets include a disabled (key needed) and the main food menu is extensive and tasty

Came back the second time, first time was a roast, this time a sharing platter and it came out like what you would get when you make oven food (homemade is probably better!) The fries came out so pale, like it wasn't even cooked. Awful both times. Never coming back!

We absolutely loved our visit to The Marlow Donkey! From the moment we stepped inside, it felt just like home. The interior is beautifully designed, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome from start to finish.To top it off, it’s dog-friendly, which made it even better! Even though we were only in Marlow for the weekend, we’ll definitely come back to this pub next time we visit. The Marlow Donkey is a gem and easily deserves a 5-star rating! Oh, and one more thing… parking has a EV CHARGING POINTS 🙌🏼

Took my daughter in the other day while waiting for a train and their kids menu has such a good range! Pub was clean and tidy and the staff were smiley and friendly, Libby and the pub landlord, Andy helped in any way they could, getting a high chair for us etc and it did not go unnoticed! Will definitely be back again

I’ve always loved going to this pub and the recent update has made it even better! The staff are always great especially Libby who brings a friendly vibe! To edit a few months later - As our local, the Donkey never disappoints. A great selection of food and drinks, Libby is still a stand out with great service and good recommendations. Lovely pub, amazing that it is dog friendly too. We stopped off for a lovely lunch mid dog walk and were met with an extensive menu and kind staff, Libby was particularly helpful in recommending some dishes for our group and it was greatly appreciated

Shocking, went in the late summer for a lunch meal and went away extremely disappointed and we will never return again. The price for what was a very small part baked then an overcooked dried roll was daylight robbery. It cost me £12 for the plate in the photo and 1 pint of beer. Spoke to various staff members who didn't really know what was going on and said that was the price. If you do go be warned, this is the worst pub grub and value for money in Marlow.

I visited today with my partner and despite it being super busy, our server Libby went above and beyond for us. She couldn't have been more helpful and was able to offer some great menu recommendations. She is a great asset to the team and I look forward to visiting again!

Came here for a few drinks and a nice evening meal. Food was plentiful and tasty. price was on the slightly higher side, however, it is Marlow an old market town in the heart of Buckinghamshire. The staff were warm and friendly and nothing was too much for them to help or do for us. Drinks were good, as a real ale drinker I enjoyed the fact they use their local brewers Session which is a good IPA, if you, like me enjoy the real ales. Deserts were really good and very moreish. we also enjoyed a couple of cocktails made by hand and not like some establishments which come already made up. Furniture varied from high chairs and tables to cosy booths and large round tables for bigger groups. Outside has heat lighting and many tables and chairs. When returning to Marlow, ill be sure to come back to this cosy yet updated pub.

Had a great time with my sons. The staff are very accommodating, professional and friendly. Especially one lady who accommodated another seating area for us it was very busy because they had a quiz night on.

First time we have both eaten and drank here. Asked in advance if we could bring 2 small dogs to be told they really welcomed canines. Good vibe when we got there, 10%off for CAMRA members,food good and reasonable price. Even asked if they could photo our dogs! Staff made us feel both welcome and valued-will be back

Nice pub, food is good. Atmosphere is good. It can be difficult to park. They have a small carpark, but if driving, make a note of alternatives before you set off. It is Marlow after all. There are lots of visitors.

Interesting pub near the station. Deceptively spacious inside. Good place for a beer and/or a meal before catching a train. Immaculately kept, friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended.

Lovely place for a quiet Sunday lunch. Polite and attentive staff. I had the chicken and ham pie with mash and gravy, which was delicious.

The food was very poor. It had obviously been prepared earlier and warmed up in a microwave. My wife and I both had the so-called 'award-winning' pies but the pastry was like rubber and the meat was very gristly. To make matters worse my mashed potatoes were like a flat cake and was difficult to cut. The only enjoyable part of the meal was my Peroni lager.

A bit expensive, but a nice old pub (formerly the station hotel). Only three minutes from the station, so a good place to wait for the train.

Today i visited the marlow donkey with my 84 year old nan for lunch. Food was lovely we both had hunters chicken and caramelised biscuit cheesecake for desert. Would highly recommend the marlow donkey.

Inviting exterior, clean modern tasteful interior and large area at the back. Food was half cold, served on a cold plate. Scampi overcooked, hardly anything inside the dark brown coating. I was hungry again in 2 hours due to it being of very low nutritional value. Usually after a decent meal I'm good for at least 4 hours.

Marlow Donkey is a lovely restaurant, especially after their remodeling and staff are very kind and friendly. The biggest problem I've had with them is cross contamination with gluten-free items as their handling obviously needs a lot of work

Lovely pub, food was underwhelming and took ages to arrive. Full of drunken yobs and made us feel uncomfortable. Drunk man without shoes nearly falling over, drunk man got rude to me when I was ordering food. I took too long and he wanted a drink. Two young staff were brilliant running the pub single handed. Table was dirty but poor waitress was rushed off her feet so I cleaned it with wet wipes. We wouldn't return in a hurry which is a shame because the decor is lovely. It's cheap but not up to scratch!

Visited today and immediately noticed how clean outside area was ( it's normally clear of glasses etc but today struck me as extra tidy! Not a bit of rubbish/ cigarette butts anywhere) The service here is always great and all staff friendly smiling welcoming .A great improvement since refurbishment and they still keeping up the Standards every day

Sought this pub out after researching local one’s after our visit to Turville. Ordering was easy, starters and mains bought out together which was a nice change. Loved that all the sauces and other condiments, cutlery etc were on the table. The food is absolutely delicious and very well priced. For two starters, two mains and two soft drinks, the bill was just shy of £43. The visit did not disappoint.

Very pleasant ambience, which was similar to typical British pub. They serve great food & drinks through online orders.

We recently hosted a large family event at The Marlow Donkey - and it exceeded all of my expectations. Not only has the pub been completely refurbished, so it looks amazing, Andy (the manager) could not have been more helpful, accommodating and facilitating of all of our requests. Once discussed, I didn't have to consider the organisation of the day, and everything was executed to the letter of what was agreed. Finally the food and service were brilliant - would highly recommend.

I got served cold chips, yesterday's microwaved lasagne, and my friend got a rotten lettice in her salad. All staff under the age of 30. I got my refund and went elsewhere.

Normally quite tasty food here for good value so was a shame about today. Had ordered food to our table at the bar and they had put the incorrect table number down, we found this out after going to the bar after waiting for 40 minutes. When we went to the bar we were told we could either have our food reheated or we could have a new meal made for us and were told this would be ready within 15 minutes. We opted to have a new meal made, when this arrived to our table it seems that it was the same food which had been hanging around for nearly an hour that they'd put in the microwave for a couple of minutes before sending out to us. Bit of a shame really as we were expecting fresh food after waiting for so long, did eat it all as we were starving in fairness.

No paper in male toilet did inform a staff member went a second time in my visit still no paper

The Donkey is an awesome pub with a friendly vibe. The service is quick and the staff are super welcoming, making you feel right at home. The food is delicious and there’s something for everyone on the menu. Whether you're grabbing a drink or sitting down for a meal, you’re in for a great time. This place definitely makes you want to come back again and again.

I was there on Sunday the 9 June 2024 with my close family as we were going to scatter my mums ashes on Winter Hill. We all met there to have lunch followed by the sad event. Anyway, my son in law and me ordered the honey chicken breast burger with bacon on top and here the problem happened. After eating this my Son in law had a violent problem from both ends but I felt so so. I reported this to the staff and was basically told that no one else had reported a problem so bad luck and please pay the £86 bill. I was not happy but there you go, they were no interested or cared about situation. My son in law was unable to leave the car to attend the scattering. I returned home, down south in Chichester and that evening felt rough. Monday and Tuesday 10th/11th were both days where it was not wise for me leave home because needing the loo. Not much point in advising the Donkey for clearly they did not care. BE AWARE. Also the rest of my family ordered the roasts which to be honest were so small in quantity it was disappointing. Also the chicken burger had the smallest of breast meat it hardly covered the bun it came in. Not happy and will never visit again, if in the area. Following my post they since requested I get in touch and I forwarded my contact details With joy. I finally received a call from as stand in manager who fully understood my comments and in fact told me the GK punish them if they serve up larger weighing portions than stipulated!! Wow so Green King know their portions are so small. I was also told that I would Receive a voucher for my Family To eat again at a more local Green King pub and that was over a month ago. Since then NOTHING/ZERO.
