Staff were rude and sanitary bin was overflowing in the one female toilet. We only purchased drinks so we could use the toilet. Have not been here before but certainly won’t be returning.

We had an awful lunch experience. We ordered two fish platters - pre-cooked prawns were straight out of the packet, calamari with way too much batter, soggy crab cakes - felt ill afterwards The gammon was also very tough in the gammon main. Kids burgers were also overcooked, staff didn't seem too fussed - avoid!

We went for a family birthday and chose hotel via Google for Sunday Roast Lunch. The staff were lovely. They could not have been more friendly and attentive so ourparty of 9 had a lovely time. My complaint is the locak of availability of food, as per menu. The menuu stated you could have roast beef, turkey, pork and cauliflower tart on a plate for 4 to share or you could have the 3 meats on a plate for one, or a plate of just meat of your choice. By the time our there was party ordrered at 3pm, on a pre-booked table, roast beef was all that was left on the roast menu. The pub is open till 10pm so goodness knows what later clients were offered. I felt for the waitress who, having taken the orders, had to come back and apologise for lack of availability. The pleasantness of the staff saved the day but I would think twice before going back due the catering problem. If you offer a menu, cater fully for that menu!!

Came here for sunday lunch with my husband, to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. Had a lovely lamb shank and roast beef pleasantly served by a young girl who said her name was Millie, definitely recommend not just for the fantastic food but the incredible hospitality. Great pub by the river in Marlowe. Great walk from Cookham. Meal pre booked but had to wait an awfully long time to eat. That said the food was tasty and hot when it arrived. Such a nice day and able to sit outside. Toilets clean and nice atmosphere both inside and outside. Great for children and also very dog friendly with A doggy menu. Will give it another try but food does need to served quicker or told there will be a long wait. 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Nothing bad to say about the service but why do they have a fast food menu with prices set or fine dining levels? Decided not to get mugged and ordered no food. 70-90% of the people in the pub were just having drinks.

Visited the Two Brewers for Mother’s Day. Food was good and nice ambiance. Would say the table service was a bit slow but we were there to catch up as a family so we didn’t really mind and as stated food was good. The staff were friendly but you could see they were a bit maxed out at times. All in all though a good experience and would revisit.

We have had good experiences at the this pub previously, so we were looking forward to a Mother's day lunch day there today, but unfortunately we were disappointed. We were asked to pre order our food, which is absolutely fine, but then they got one of our food orders completely wrong, and we were told " we're not doing that today", unsure why it's on the menu then? We spoke to someone on the phone when we pre- ordered, so there really wasn't an excuse not to have told us. Another reason why we chose this pub, is the novelty of having unlimited Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and gravy with the roast dinner. I was unsure if they would offer this on Mother's Day, but it was on their actual Mother's Day menu, so I was pleasantly surprised! However, when we asked for extras, we were told that we they aren't doing that today! It's very annoying when something is advertised on the menu, and they then retract it. The overall service was good, and they were very polite, but unfortunately the poor servers were just doing as they were told. The food was average, the Mothers day gift was nice gesture. They are very welcoming of dogs, which was really nice.

The people serving were a bit distracted by their phones. The table was a bit cramped but the people next to us moved their table for us so we had a little more room. The table was incredibly wobbly but was fixed with a load of serviettes. The atmosphere was nice. Just a warning if you are traveling by car though, the parking on the surrounding roads is only 1 hour and the pub doesn't have its own car park. Unlike us, I recommend planning your parking!

Friday lunchtime visit Ordered the ribeye steak with chunky chips which comes with frozen peas, brussel sprouts, parsnip, onions rings and carrots. Requested medium rare steak but my steak certainly looked and tasted well done in texture. The brussel sprouts tasted like frozen veg - very soggy, the chunky chips were skinny French fries and the onion rings were soggy in texture too. We raised a complaint about the steak and were informed by the chef that it had been cooked for the recommended time according the guidelines set by management. My friend who had once trained as a chef stated to me, that there was no way that the steak could pass as medium rare, as there wasn't any trace of blood to be seen. This was my second visit to The Two Brewers over the course of a couple of years and I now remember having a similar experience with the food and feeling very disappointed. I enjoyed my glass of Malbec which was the saving grace!

UPDATE: Sunday 20 th October - no one likes honest comments Guys, if you like the place but decided to comment on a negative experience be aware that you might be refused service. So it is positive or nothing... ORIGINAL REVIEW: Rarely bother to leave comments, but this time was compelled to… Been going to Two Brewers since 2011 way before the young people managing now even got to know where TB is… On average we enjoy a drink or two three times a week or so. And thats the most profit being made on folks like us who drinks there on a regular basis So today (Wednesday)… came in for a drink after work and saw that the front room has “reserved” signs on every table. Came to the bar, ordered drinks and asked if all tables were genuinely booked? Got the reply: yes, all three tables are booked for 6.30 plus they are all plated up for dinner service anyway(or along those lines)… we left 6.45 there was no one in that room, so the conclusion that comes to mind is that they didn't want to mess up the lay out of the tables just for some one like us, who weren't eating. How disappointing… Pity really

Beautiful film-set street, gorgeous little pub. We went for a Sunday lunch. The roast was a proper big portioned plateful, with freshly steamed broccoli, perfectly sweet parsnips, mash and roast potatoes, yorkshire puds. The generous serving of pork was done perfectly and there was lots of steaming hot gravy. The buttermilk chicken burger was actually really special - I don't know why, but it far outdid the 'norm', with lots of depth of flavour. We had the brownie and the toffee sponge for pudding - portions were huge, and really great. There are loads of vegan options on the menu, I noticed, which is good to see. Can't fault the service; polite, friendly, efficient. They were so lovely to our dog too - bringing him a bowl of water and fussing him. A really excellent lunch!

The team seemed nice, I was sceptical about eating here after reading the reviews on trip advisor but thought we’d try it. I would not visit again as the reviews stating that the food is not good are correct. We arrived at midday for our booking and were seated promptly. We had pre booked an afternoon tea for two. The first tray of food arrived and was not as described - pre grated mozzarella filled one sandwich which should have been the taw valley cheddar sandwich, the chicken and bacon open sandwich was not open, and the jolly hog had the same bacon used in the chicken and bacon non open sandwich. The sandwiches looked very basic and thrown together, and seemed thrown onto the cake stand. The scones were warm and nice. The chocolate brownies were lovely, the mini apple doughnuts were not mini or apple, they were regular ring doughnuts chopped in half. The mini rhubarb and custard sundae was ice cream which some spray cream on top - the description of this dessert on the main menu was far from what we received.

A place where I used to go years ago. Nice little pub behind what was The George and Dragon (where I worked) . Well worth a visit if in Marlow. Love this little town.., so many memories. One of the oldest pubs in Marlow, The Two Brewers has been serving pints near the River Thames since 1727. It’s most famous as the site where Jerome K. Jerome wrote part of his classic novel – Three Men in a Boat. Jerome thought Marlow to be ‘one of the pleasantest river centres I know of. It is a bustling lively little town … there are many quaint nooks and corners to be found in it’. Two Brewers Marlow is the perfect pub in Marlow for great traditional pub food and perfectly served drinks. We look forward to seeing you at the best pub in Marlow!

My daughter and I had dinner at the Two Brewers on Friday evening. We sat "downstairs", in a comfortable semi-basement area, off the main bar. The pub was crowded at 6.30pm, which is a good sign. The food was good pub fare, excellently presented and served, although one or two items were "off" the menu, owing presumably to high demand. Leah, who served us, was delightful and knowledgeable, and we will visit again.

My wife and I came here about 2 and half years ago and we were excited to return back thanks to our amazing visit so long ago. Much has changed within the pub with some screens which don't really fit with the theme of the 300 year old pub. We came back for an amazing Sunday roast and were immediately greeted and given a table even though we hadn't booked we were pleasantly surprised to see one of the staff on our first visit was still here and one of the reasons we came back! She made us feel so welcome and special on our visit we vowed to come again and to our suprise she had recognised us! Thankyou very much Jessica for another lovely visit, tasty triple roast and good beer

Stopped at the Two Brewers Marlow for a late lunch after a lovely day in the countryside and had an absolutely wonderful experience! Our server, Millie, was kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Food was great, ambience was beautiful, staff was accommodating and we would definitely visit again!

A lovely pub in a quiet, riverside location. Great selection of beers. Unfortunately the food experience was extremely poor. After a 30-45 minute wait (it wasn’t busy), we had 4, hurriedly and poorly put together dishes with salads that were dry and wilted from having been under a heater. The food was bland and clearly from a kitchen who didn’t really care for the experience of the customers (although good chips..I’ll give them that). Extremely underwhelming and not befitting of such a lovely venue. We also chose the venue for the well advertised dog friendliness. They never acknowledged our pup or even offered a bowl of water. No mention of the dog menu. While I’d certainly stop for a drink, I will not eat here again.

There were 3 adults, a young child and a baby in our party. The food, beer and wine were all very good. Bertie made us very welcome and her service was excellent, particularly with the food and hot water for the children. The pub is close to the river, so beautifully located. This was our second visit, and it will not be our last.

This is a very nice pub with a lovely atmosphere. Jessica was the manager? Or if she wasn’t she should be! She was professional and friendly. Will be back to see you soon. Highly recommend the sweet potato and beetroot tortilini with added chicken. John and Sue 🙂

Sunday dinner, smallish portions (extra roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings available, but lack of staff to ask), and overcooked roast beef. Wouldn't rush back... It was clean, and the staff were friendly and polite at the bar.

Beautiful pub with lovely atmosphere and very dog friendly. Millie was serving us and is a true credit to the team: attentive, speedy and couldn’t do enough to help us (even the dog!). Sunday lunch was great and well catered for vegetarians. Good selection of beers, wines and cocktails too. I hope to return next time I’m in Marlow and would highly recommend to others!

I never write reviews, but I need to. Staff went above and beyond to cater for my gluten allergy. Couldn’t fault them. Food was delicious, staff were lovely and fab atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

Visited this pub recently. Not a good experience. Dirty, smelly and down at heel. 30 years ago this was a lovely pub serving decent food. What went wrong?

Decided on this establishment after looking at the menu as we only wanted a light lunch. I ordered a prawn and avocado sandwich with granary bread, when it arrived it was ok, but the crusts of the bread were very hard. I would say that the prawns were actually old shrimps. My husband ordered a club sandwich, about 5 minutes after ordering the waitress came to say that there was no more chicken so he had a bacon and egg sandwich. When it arrived the bread looked like it was cheap supermarket bread, the bacon was also over cooked. And finally the chips were a mix of freshly cooked chips and others that had been cooked before. I have to say overall I was disappointed

This pub is one of my absolute faves! Staff are very attentive and polite. The food is always delicious! We have had a sunday roast here before which is amazing. We've also done a valentines menu which was superb. Definetly recommend if your in the area.
