I follow Gary eats on YouTube he rated the George.well he wasn’t wrong!! Sunday roast on the 27th oct was absolutely perfect. It was a beautiful day so we drove up from Seaford East Sussex about one&half hour driving. Worth every minute of the drive . Many thanks Colin &suzanne .

14 for Sunday lunch only 3 finished meal they seem to go for quantity rather than quality, Don't bother with sides they don't know how to make cauliflower cheese (they just put florets in a dish put a slice of stringy cheese on top and grill it) & crackling far to hard even the dog had trouble. Also I was charged for 3 items which i never had so get a receipt & check thoroughly mine was £23:90 overcharged. Then they mentioned 10% service charge what a joke.

Had a truly wonderful, delicious Sunday lunch at the George today with friends who were visiting us from Hampshire. The food was plentiful and really tasty with 3 of us having a roast and my wife had the fish pie which she described as being the best fish pie she’s ever had, high praise indeed. The front of house team were great and speed and attention was spot on. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

1st time visiting the George.. recommended by friends and wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic meal , food was amazing, good size portions, value for money and great selection choice for all - credit to the chef. We had a fantastic Sunday roast at The George. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious, big portions and everything was perfect. Thank you. I’ll be coming back. The staff were great, they had a laugh which is actually lovely and really makes for a wonderful day.

Arrived around 4.30pm manage to get a table without making a booking which was great. Ordered drinks at the bar and waitress brought them to the table. Ordered starters and mains. Starters arrived and was great. Mains came out my wife had Haddock which looked good and i had Whitstable Bay fish and chips. The batter was burnt and when i cut into the fish it was dry and hardly any fish. I Asked the waitress to come over and requested for the meal to be replaced which she replied it will be 5 minutes. My 1st meal was left on the table going cold which was fine as i expected a complete hot meal to replace the 1st one. To my surprise just a plate of fish was brought to me without any chips, peas or onions to replace the cold ones left so, i refused the meal and asked this to removed from the bill which was agreed. Then when i went to pay for the food and drinks consumed the waitress did apologise however, she said there had been a misunderstanding between us. Surely when you get a bad meal the whole should be replaced so, i don't understand where there was a misunderstanding. I have left The George very dissapionted with the food and service.

We had a set three course Christmas lunch which was excellent quality and value. The portions were generous, each course was delicious and the service great. Will definitely return.

The whole experience was very pleasant- staff were friendly and although it was busy made time for us.The christmas decor was tastefully accommodated among the original decor. Our drinks were brought to our table and we weren't rushed into ordering- which is always pleasant as it allows time to settle .The menu is varied and once ordered our food arrived in good time. Food was fab all fresh veg and homecooked -Well worth every penny spent, and the pricing was reasonable .

Visited the week before Christmas. It was very busy but the service was excellent. The food was lovely and hot and the choice is very extensive. The only negative is the pricing. I don’t know how you can justify £17.95 for a halloumi salad? I mean it’s veggies and cheese when all is said and done.

Really friendly staff, pub had a lovely atmosphere and dog friendly inside which is great. Portions were good and food was very nice; i would say it was a little more on the dear side of affordable just as drinks weren't included in breakfast as a few other pubs not too far away will do for breakfast. Would suggest a verbal option of "toast or fried bread" with the full English (just for those who didn't realise it's fried bread as standard - although this time definitely our fault for not reading this properly on the menu!) Hollandaise was a little vinegary but otherwise a nice, filling breakfast with very lovely staff and a lovely atmosphere. Would be great in summer too with an excellent beer garden and outdoor space.

We’ve been here years ago for drinks but hadn’t eaten here before. Inside it’s really lovely - they’ve gone to down dressing it up for Christmas and it’s a really lovely old pub. The menu was pretty extensive for a pub, food came quickly and was good. The waiting staff were great - very friendly and welcoming. There were lots of dogs in the pub and next time we’ll bring ours to try out the doggy menu. Lovely place!

Had the Pork Roast, absolutely delicious, great crackling and generous portions. Staff were super friendly and very efficient. Will definitely visit again.

This little gme if a pub is perfect for any occasion. Bring the whole family including the dog. The staff are excellent and the atmosphere is brilliant. Wish there a few more pubs like this one around. Thank you guys.

Lovely warm, cosy, friendly pub. The perfect place to spend a wet Sunday afternoon. A huge selection on the menu together with a choice of roast lunches on Sunday. Everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious. Quality ingredients all well cooked. All the staff are delightful. They provide friendly and efficient service with a smile.
