Our family love this place. We have had many lovely meals or just a quiet drink alone. The team are also very welcoming and friendly.

We had a kids pizza party here a couple of weeks ago and had Debbie as a host. She was amazing! Very attentive and courteous and made sure the kids all has fun. Would definitely recommend

It was definitely the right time to go midday on a Monday. Nice quite and the food was hot taste and even the turkey wasn't dry. Nice little treat for us

Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend . Made what should have been a nice birthday lunch a miserable experience . Server did apologise about things but by that time we couldn’t wait to leave

Our booking was at 2pm. Seated straight away, a good start ! We chose the carvery option. For my meal alone … the carver initially hacked at the turkey breast but eventually carved my meat from the other side. Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and crispy, carrots were rubbery, peas were multi coloured green indicating constant refreshing of the dish. Not a very appetising main course. I followed with a berry sundae , impressive looking but not one berry in the dish. Just a gloppy fruit syrup in the bottom and drizzled around the ice cream. The waitress had a lovely smile and was attentive. The meal was the worse I’ve had .

Awful food, service was abysmal , attitude from all staff, carvery was dry and had fresh veg placed on top of old veg, mash was dry , burgers were dry, was for my birthday meal which was ruined due to feeling ill all evening leading onto next day. No one asked how our meal was at any point. Won’t be returning again nor will I be advising others to go to this place

We visited with a large group, also with wheelchairs. They were extremely busy but the service we received from Sue and Emily was excellent, a real credit to the company. Our food was amazing too

This was our first visit here. We Brought a large group of wheelchair users for a meal out at The Royal George. Despite having another large group booked in too the food was lovely. The staff couldn’t have done more to help us especially sue and Emily !! Absolute 5 stars from all of us! See u again soon

Food was good and reasonably priced.

Family gathering to celebrate a late Christmas get-together. We arrived early and walked into the bar to find it was packed due to a rugby match on telly. The place was standing room only, and I was thinking we can't stay here! Thankfully, the restaurant was downstairs, and it was spacious and calm. We chose our meals (8 carvery's and a chicken salad) and stuffed ourselves, washed down with plenty of drinks and some ice cream sundaes. My brother and I split the bill, and it came to approximately £15 per person = excellent value. There was a lift for anyone with mobility issues and a modest sized car park with some disabled parking. The service was excellent even though there were only 2 waitresses on duty. They were attentive, efficient and polite. I would happily eat there again.

Came here with family for my uncle Dave’s birthday the service by Emily was amazing and the food was to die for will defo come back again xxx thank you and specially loved the espresso martinis :)

We arrived for our 11.30 lunch booking, not realising that lunch didn't start until 12. We decided to wait for 12 to have lunch. We had drinks and the staff were lovely and apologised that we were not informed when we did our on line booking. Luckily with great speed the staff and kitchen chefs cleared the breakfast food away and got everything ready ready and we quickly got our food. Excellent food and really efficient staff all round

Had English breakfast which was very nice and filling.

The kitchen staff forgot to cook my partners vegan chicken. The carvery bowels were fairly empty and not all labelled. The plastic spoons were far too hot to handle. The ceiling wallpaper was hanging off, with unsightly water ingress!

Came to the Royal George for a Mother’s Day meal and we were amazed by the service from Emily. Food was great too.

I waited 10 minutes for a carver the beef end of joint was not fit for a dog about three slices of dried turkey left roast potatoes burnt then had to wait for other customers to be served as mine had to be wieghed

Alex was super friendly and helpful and Louise made our experience special by assisting making a birthday celebration go along smoothly. The food options are ample and so were the portions.

Visited on Thursday lunchtime and had a fabulous meal ! The old lady behind the bar ‘Sharon’ I think her name was was brilliant ! I would highly reccomend this place.

Very underwhelming burgers, very limp and basic, cheap cafe standard Not enough staff = slow service We visited with a Groupon voucher. Waitress had to recite what was available rather than being able to provide a list of what to order Place is pretty run down. Waitress herself very freindly

Debbie,Debbie,Debbie the biggest asset at The Royal George.Attentive,smiley,professional,welcoming,chatty but not too much,just the best waitress we have encountered in a long time.

Debbie, our server, was very kind and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our burgers which were well cooked and of a generous size. Quite busy for a Wednesday evening. Mixed aged of customers. Didn't have to wait long for food.

Went here for a family birthday. Debbie, our waitress, was very attentive and polite, she deserves acknowledgment for how well she represents the company. Lovely meal, altogether happy with the whole experience.

I had the vege 'chicken' burger and it was literally a shop bought slab of quorn in a bun with hardly anything else in it all. It's a shame because the staff and service was great and there was a lovely atmosphere

On numerous occasions on Saturdays when me and my family have visited for breakfast have found certain members of staff have been very rude and blunt.

Come to the royal George every couple of weeks or so, the food is okay and is close to home and is the main reason as to why as a family we go there to eat, the service can be hit or miss some staff are amazing, others are extremely snobby and rude to people who are not regulars

Only 1 star as I can't go any lower- absolutely shocking! We visit The Peacehaven carvery, with family, every school holidays and always come away feeling full and enjoy our dinner. The Royal George is absolutely disgusting, soggy roast potatoes and brown mash was just the tip of the iceberg. I've lived with allergies for 20 years and never felt so ridiculed as I did and was actually given the wrong information by the server. My partner put gravy on his food which was stone cold, even though we'd asked if there was any as both pots were empty. He was offered a fresh meal, but hot gravy never turned up even though the pot went in and out of the kitchen. £40 spent (that was with a discount voucher) and will still need a meal later on. Honestly would suggest avoid at all costs and go to McDonald's over the road.

Unfortunately, an unpleasant experience with the vegan option for the carvery. Whilst the vegetables and sauces were good, the vegan meat substitute was very small and only partly cooked? The middle of both fillets were fine, but the ends of both were rock hard! I couldn't tell if it was still frozen or just cooked poorly! Staff were lovely and there was a good selection of other dishes on the menu, but a bit disappointing.

Had a wonderful breakfast good quality produce. Clean and welcoming environment. Service was very good overall very pleased.

Sat 15 of us together away in a corner so didn’t have to worry about disturbing others. We all ordered at table on app so paid for our own food which saved the dreaded bill split discussion. Great family get together

An old favourite for locals, priced well, roast dinner on a Sunday is always popular.

The Food was terrible .. we couldnt eat the Yorkshire pudding it was too hard , plus the roast potatoes were hard . Too hard to bite The cauliflower cheese was even cooked it was hard. Plus most of the veggies so dry & cold. Totally disgusting

Not great to be honest. Lady on till was less than happy. The food choice was not great, and not many Veg. Peas like bullets. Watery cauliflower cheese. Mashed carrot and potato had lumps in it, had to remove one that was too hard to eat. Some of it not fully cooked. The only plus point was the lady serving behind the carvery. Happy and good to have a quick chat to. Very drab place, depressing. Simply the worst Stonehouse / Place I have eaten in many years. And I have been to a few. Don’t advise you going there if you have other choices. And to cap it off, my loyalty card did not work in there. I will stick to the one in Saltdean or Peacehaven. Or one of my other regulars. Never going back there. I would rather go to a funeral. At least you get a decent bit of grub at the end of it. But please thank the lady carving the meat. She was genuinely lovely. Service would have been 5 stars had it not been for the woman on the till. She was not a happy bunny. IN REPLY TO YOUR ANSWER. Please do, but I would think the answer is just lip service. I doubt anything will chance. If it does, I will never know about it, as I will never return. I will use an alternative Stonehouse, or another chain altogether. That aside, I do wish you and your staff a genuinely happy Christmas.

Lovely breakfast, very friendly staff. Sue was brilliant.

Booked in advance for an early Christmas lunch. Booking worked well and table ready for our use. Selected Christmas lunch menu from the carvery. Meat was well cooked and adequate portion size. Varied range of vegetables, but generally poor. quality. Many over cooked and mushy. Peas dried out and hard. Roast potatoes particularly disappointing.

Was served by Luke on the bar who was super friendly and then served by Lally? On the carvery deck who was attentive and chatty!

Popped in for a Sunday carvery, 1 x meat and 2 x meat free and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and our waitress Sue was very friendly and attentive. Would definately recommend
