The Bredhurst Bell in Maidstone

Today we were served by Ben & Jordan. Can’t say anything else but thank you. He was attentive, professional and managed many tables without keeping up waiting for food or drinks. All food came hot, we highly recommend the katsu curry, and the drinks were fabulous. We also recommend the strawberry woo woo and gin berry spritz. Atmosphere was lovely, it’s was the chilled relaxed evening we were looking for and as first nights at The Bell go, it won’t be our last. Thank you :)

Nice pub garden during Warmer months. Nice Green King gastro pub all in year round. Play area for kids in garden, although this backs on to car park and the fencing could use some upkeep.

Booked a table with wheelchair access, when we arrived Sue was at the door helping us and then took us to a prepared table that covered all requirements, the food was superb as well as the atmosphere, we all really enjoyed our visit

We arrived earlier than our table was booked, but were welcomed and shown to the table which was reserved for us. However the young man gave us the choice to sit at a much cosier table, which we did. After the young man explained told us that someone would come over to take our drinks order. We waited quite a while before a very pleasant young lady asked if anyone had been over to us. She then took our drinks and food order. I had put on the booking that it was my husband’s birthday, the waitress wished him happy birthday and hoped that he would enjoy his birthday lunch. Sadly the meal which my husband chose, was unavailable 😔 After making another choice we didn’t have long to wait before our starters came out, both were very nice. Camembert for me, chicken Strips for hubby. Our mains followed in good time and were both enjoyable, nothing fancy, but tasty. Risotto and hunters chicken. The waitress, sorry didn’t get her name, was very friendly and made time to chat with us, it makes all the difference when staff are friendly. A mini dessert with coffee for me and for hubby, completed our lunch. Just the right size for the mini cheesecake, which was lovely. We would visit the Bell again if in the area

Visited Tuesday evening with a friend. Jordan was verh attentative, exceptional chstomer service! Food was lovely - will definitely be returning in the future.

Booked here from a recommendation and I was not disappointed, ordered lamb shank with mash and veg, also steak with chips and onion rings. Food was fab lamb fell off the bone and the steak cooked to perfection and both had lots of flavour, the young girl serving was lovely with a happy ‘nothings the bother’ attitude and a smile, if your down that way give it a visit you will not be disappointed.

Always warm welcome as you as you walk in , efficient bar staff that exactly know who is the next customer to be served, when we orders our food via the app everything was great and tasty and arrived within a reasonable time considering it was very busy

Totally loved this place. The food was fresh and hot. The customer service was brilliant and the pub itself was warm and welcoming. The prices for the meals are not the cheapest but we'll worth it. I will definitely be going back. Dogs are also welcome

We had Sunday Roast which was lovely, nice to have sliced meat on your plate rather than meat with bones that a lot of restaurants now offer. The service was great and Sue was very pleasant and welcoming. Will come again and would recommend.

A group of us from Maidstone Ramblers had an enjoyable lunch after our walk. A comfortable large pub restaurant with great value food. Friendly efficient service from Sue. I recommend the steal and ale pie. Delicious !

My husband and I had Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding blessing that had just taken place. Our waitress Sue was friendly and attentive. The food was lovely.

We had a lovely experience at The Bell for Christmas day lunch the staff were all very friendly and efficient, big shout out to our main server Sue of whom was spot on. The food was good, atmosphere and decor all great. Thank you to all the team at The Bell for a very pleasurable experience would highly recommend.

We have just come home following Christmas dinner at the Bell and we are all very impressed with the Bell. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children and we were exceptionally well looked after. The food was absolutely beautiful with very nice sized portions, nothing was left on the plate. The staff were superb and we were extremely well looked after by Ben. Can't recommend the Bell enough and we will definitely be returning in the new year! Happy Christmas all!!!

We come here regularly and have to say we have never been disappointed.

Visited here recently for an evening meal with friends. Our starters were all OK, but very small portions. For mains, 3 of us had food that had to be freshly cooked (fish and chips etc) but I went for the chicken and ham hock pie with mash and veg. Everyone else enjoyed their food, my pie was awful! It had clearly just been microwaved, the pastry was so solid I struggled to cut it, the veggies were bland and overcooked and the mash was clearly instant mash, with a horrid grainy texture. I couldn't taste much ham and certainly didn't get any mustard flavour. I appreciate for the prices charged you're never going to get amazing food, but it was very disappointing. I also would have hoped for a question from the waiter as I left a good half of my meal, but it was cleared away with no comment. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was OK, but we certainly wouldn't hurry back. Oh, and also, the carpark had no lighting so it was really difficult to see where we were going!

Great food fast service even though extremely busy with the Christmas rush. Will certainly return in the new year when less busy.

8 of us visited for a family pre-Christmas meal. The pub felt very cold, we told a staff member who said she would turn thermostat up. There was no visible source of heating in area we sat in. Only 2 radiators we noticed were in corridor outside the toilets both of which were stone cold. We felt uncomfortably cold throughout our visit even when wearing a 2 layers on our upper body. Whilst I appreciate the pub was busy we thought that the wait for food (which had been pre-ordered) was extremely slow. The chips on 2 of the meals were cold, along with the steak on one of the meals - all were replaced when this was brought to the attention of staff. We weren't asked if we required any sauces - cranberry sauce was provided once we requested it. Overall we were disappointed by our visit.

£12 per head buffet for 15 people easily fed 20. Very good choice of varied cold food.

Great village feel. We both had roast turkey meal from their Sunday menu. Amazing food! Turkey was plentiful and so soft and moist. Loads of veg too. Including cauliflower cheese, carrots, parsnips, peas, roast potatoes, stuffing, homemade Yorkshire, gravy boat. Amazing value for money. We didn't book either. Turned up at 3ish. We was looked after at our table by Sue who was very friendly and welcoming. Service charge is not included on the bill and when paying via the card machine, there is no prompt to leave a tip. As the experience was so good, I had to ask how to leave a tip via the car payment machine. Sue then adjusted the payment display to allow me to leave her a tip. I've never had that before. I highly recommend this restaurant from my experience. Thanks Sue and all the staff.

Jordan and Ben were attentive, professional and it was a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was lovely and well worth every penny. We will definitely be returning. We all had a lovely family meal , thank you gents, you do an amazing job .

Nice staff but not enough of them. Tables often sticky.. Dog friendly a big plus. Food can be hit or miss, I think depending on how busy they are. Have had a lovely meal but also cremated scampi but will go back.

We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime to celebrate a family birthday. It was relatively quiet during our lunch but our food was really very good and excellent value for money. We had excellent service from Natalie which made it a very enjoyable lunch.

We had a fabulous meal at The Bell. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We had 2 dogs with us and a baby which made serving our table a challenge and we're a rowdy lot so the patience exercised by the serving staff when working out who had ordered what was greatly appreciated. We genuinely had such a lovely experience and it was made so by the fantastic staff.

I'm just going on the food that I ordered here, which was meant to be the onion soup but I would have said was onion gravy which I could not eat. But friends that I was with were very happy with what they ordered. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. A lovely afternoon lunch

Where there for a big family meal celebrating two birthdays and was most dissatisfied by the service. The service was extremely slow even though the pub was quiet. They made errors with drink orders and spilt food and cutlery down one of our guests. The girl apologised but a top got ruined with ketchup and no management apologies offered. Lack of personal service. The food was basic with a limited menu but tasty. The atmosphere and outside area are fantastic although the outside play area could do with a revamp. Personally won't be going again

I came in the other day for a drink with some friends and was served by Milly, who was a very polite and friendly bar staff, and made us feel welcome.

Much improved food. Some of the outside tables are really very loose and dodgy.

A nice place for any occasion., staff alone are worth a 5 star. Service and the food no complaints. I'll be coming back at sometime for sure.

Fish and Chips had been cooked several times over. Macaroni cheese was dry. Lasagne was burnt. Pesto salad had large quantities of boiled onions on top. Puddings were slightly better. Service was adequate but this is a pub lacking in any warmth or genuine interest in customer satisfaction and the food is very expensive and disappointing.

Went to The Bell for one of their Quiz Nights, and despite doing terribly on the Quiz, I can definitely say the food and service made up for it! Everyone was very friendly and polite, and nothing was too much trouble. The food came out quickly (considering how busy it was) and was exactly as described. I had some garlic bread to start and the Chicken Schnitzel for mains. I have to say it is my go to and I’ve never had one that wasn’t perfect! Will 100% be coming back!

Had a lovely meal at The Bell with my family. We were greeted at the door by Jordan W who was very welcoming. The drinks and food were both delicious, we were served at the bar by Jordan again who checked our allergies and ensured we understood the menu. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!

Prawn and Chorizo risotto - same base as their pea mint and courgette risotto (know this as my friend had it and we compared). Not a true risotto, cooked from scratch (in my opinion) tinned marrow peas. Prawn, chorizo and feta were just placed in top!! Might be tempered to return but not for a while!

Came to The Bell at Bredhurst for dinner. We had steak and ale pie and lasagne. Both very pleasant and enjoyable. Worth a visit.

A large pub in the Village of Bredhurst in Kent. Owned by Green King this pub has an extensive food menu including Sunday roast and a large selection of beers,wine and spirits. Prices are quite reasonable though a little higher than some other Green King pubs . There is a large outside area with plenty of seating including some little shed like huts. Part of the outdoor area is covered. There is a nice play area for younger kids. My roast dinner was a good size and there was a good selection of vegetables. The roasties were not the best but acceptable. The pub has a large free car park and even when it's very busy like it was when I visited, I still found a place. Finally, all staff members I interacted with were polite and helpful

We had a wonderful dining experience! The meal was exceptional, full of flavours, particularly the pies, and beautifully presented. The staff were fantastic, providing attentive and friendly service. Special mention goes to Sue, who truly went the extra mile to make our visit memorable. Her exceptional customer skills and genuine care made all the difference. We felt incredibly welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the outstanding service.

My boyfriend and I came in for dinner tonight and honestly can’t fault the food or service, the food was 11/10 as well as the service, it will definitely become our go to for the future and we will be recommending the bell to everyone we know!!!

miserable staff overpriced and much overrated food special hose bbq burger inedible after 3 or 4 bites greasy at £12 + a pop yuk. barmaid served me a £7 glass of white wine ,when I'd ordered a rose and shrugged her shoulders if you're looking for a Kentish village pub experience I'd drive straight past Bredhurst if I were you the fact it's just off the motorway on the way to to the coast shouldn't entice you IMO. A bad representative of the wonderful Kentish village pubs that can still be found, if you are discerning enough to know what you want.

If you’re looking for some drinks in a nice pub or pub garden this is definitely lovely. We came for Sunday lunch and at £14+ the food was horrid. It’s a real shame but you’re better off getting microwave meal. Chicken was slimey, beef was a strange colour and dry - just have drinks.

Not the best day to had been to a funeral When we got there only limited hot for the funeral as there gas had ran out. So can't comet on food.

Friendly staff on arrival, service was all ordered through app but didn’t have any problems. Unfortunately there was a large crowd that was in the bar area and were being super loud and obnoxious. People were trying to enjoy their meals and this didn’t help. The staff were trying to shoo them outside but they kept coming back in.

I had the pensioners meal yesterday. Most disappointing. The chicken was dry and been cooked and left. No sauce on it.

Admittedly, it has been a bit of a disappointing visit for us this time. The vegetarian beetroot tart roast dinner was very poor. The tart itself had the texture similar to granola and was very dry - even with the gravy. This also applies to the stuffing which was very rubbery. Unfortunately, when compared to the meat roast dinners, which are priced the same, you receive much less. We had fewer potatoes, no parsnips and no Yorkshire puddings. Considering we waited over an hour to be served our pre-ordered food, I imagine the reason for the dryness was due to maybe being under a heat lamp for a prolonged period of time. If this wasn’t the case, then maybe a change in recipe or preparation is needed to supplement this. Not even the gravy was enough… This wait was then continued after the meal whilst waiting for our coffees to be delivered. We have waited over thirty minutes for four coffees… Although it’s important to note the staff during our interactions have been lovely even when mentioning these shortfalls, and the atmosphere has been nice with the great weather. The reason for a reduced service score has been purely due to the sheer wait we have had throughout the meal. Whilst I appreciate that the warm weather has made the pub busier than usual, the wait for preordered food and subsequent wait for drinks has dampened this score. All in all, I’d suggest visiting the pub for a drink, but maybe forgo the food.

Came here today for food with my family. Ordered from the app took along time for food to arrive, I also ordered drinks on the app. I was asked to tip before I had even received any service ,which I did. When our food finally arrived I was informed that there was cutlery in the entrance. I went to get my family cutlery and there was no forks. I went and found my forks off of a table inside. Also the drinks I ordered had not yet arrived ( normally drinks arrive first) The food was not great. I eventually got my drink. The service I tipped for was awful. Won't rush back

Just don't bother went here for a birthday meal Starters for 4 which 2 were cold but we let it go Mains turned up Steak was dry as a bone couldn't possibly be cooked anymore! I asked for medium rare chips were cold Mussels with linguine were cold and the pasta was more like noodles Hunters chicken just about warm Bar man was on his own trying to server everyone bless him while waitresses stood around Such a shame as its a nice pub with a good selection of drinks Let down by the kitchen and people serving But to be honest I really don't know where you can go today it all seems to be the same

Family get together after many years decided to go to the Bell. There was 13 of us and we booked well in advance. We were told we couldn’t have table service in the area we were sitting. We were told we booked too late of which we didn’t. Meals were small portions and not very hot. This Pub used to be good but since it’s been run by Greene King it has gone downhill. We have been to two different Pubs and it appears service has become so poor it’s no wonder these places are closing down

Really disappointed this evening. Went with a friend for a catch up over a few glasses of wine, as we have done a few times previouslyand enyoyed it. Told at around 2210 that they were closing and to drink up. We had just got another glass of wine each. Felt really awkward and rushed, especially as lights around us were turned off and bar staff clearly ready to leave with bags and coats at the ready. Shame, as looking forward to spending summer evenings in the garden but will now be off elsewhere.

The country night last night was fantastic great Duo of Hannah and Dan and the line dancers were amazing hopefully more music will follow well done the team at the Bell

Had a big booking for Sunday roasts! They were all served warm and tasted fantastic! We have rebooked for a birthday occasion next month. The beer selection was really good and we can’t wait to sit in the garden when the weather gets a little warmer!
