Lovely meal, lovely atmosphere. Tash was our waitress and she was lovely, and complimentary, made sure everything was okay with our food, and always made sure we had a drink.

It was ok - Friday afternoon and the noise from children in bar area was too much, staff were accommodating and we moved to restaurant area, we all live local and been coming here for many years and it’s always hit n miss - but no more, it’s was like a play area!

Had an amazing lunch at the whit horse Bearsted this week. The food was lovely and so well presented. Staff were friendly too which is nice. We loved the new menu and are looking forward to coming back for Sunday lunch next week Thanks

I came for bottomless brunch and had the sea bass which was really tasty. The waitress was really really friendly and helpful. Also very patient with us. We had lots of questions which she was at ease with. Very impressed. Her name was Melissa. 👍👍👍

Visited here at last minute notice after our previous restaurant let us down and they were really welcoming and accommodating with us not being prebooked. The food was so lovely and we are so glad we ended up here. The starters came out quickly and were a good size. The mains were very well presented and the chicken was very well cooked. We were served by Tash and Matthew and they were both extremely friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and will be coming back again!

She really was professional and you can tell she’s the sort of manager that treats her staff well. As a Gm myself it is always very nice to see. Really friendly place. Will be returning

My husband and I went to the White Horse for dinner and a night out on our own. We've been meaning to try the pub for while and were not disappointed. I ordered the sea bass and my husband had fillet steak. We both enjoyed our meals; my sea bass was excellent and a really good portion. The mini dessert with a cocktail is such a good idea! Our waitress Gemma, was super friendly and helpful and really looked after us. Just what we needed for a relaxing night without the kids.

We really enjoyed our visit. Food was good but the service was excellent, five stars for our lovely server definitely. She was patient with the kids, friendly and helpful and really brightened up our evening (Gemma I think was her name). Thank you for a great evening

We had a lovely meal, we were looked after by Gemma and she was amazing, I don’t do reviews that often but wanted to do one because she really did go above and beyond. We were that annoying sort of table that wants to ask questions about the menu and takes ages to decide. She was so helpful, always had a smile for us and could answer all our questions, when you get brilliant customer service someplace it shows up how naff it can be in other places! 100% recommend

Lovely pub with attentive happy waiting staff. Our chicken was dry but Gemma dealt with our complaint in a friendly professional manner. Making sure we were happy with the resolution of free desserts. We don't like to complain being British but she made us feel OK about it and we were dxtrmely happy with the way she dealt with us which is why 4 stars is given

Great looking pub and restaurant. Starter was lovely . Mains, however,an overall bland, I'm afraid. Pricey as well , and service ! , though the waitresses were lovely , to wait for nearly half an hour for the starters and equally that long again for mains was testing our patience.

A good family meal,food was fantastic and very reasonably priced.

Had an amazing meal today,Easter Sunday. Our waitress Tash was lovely. she served our table magnificently and was on point. She was kind, considerate and extremely helpful. The meal was delicious, sad that so many items on the menu wasn’t available.

I attended the White Horse this week with a group of 5 ladies and their babies. Tom was our server for lunch, and from the moment we walked through the door he was soo attentive to our needs, warm, welcoming and just went the extra mile. No ask was too much for him and he delivered our food with a smile, recommended desserts, and even arranged a bespoke lunch option for my baby. He really looked after us and ensured we had all we needed in our little snug area, so that we were comfortable with our babies. He then kindly took a lovely photo of our group and managed to get nearly every baby looking 👏🏼. 5 star treatment from him. Thank you again Tom!!

Great meal tonight. We had the steak and the chicken, our server (Gemma?) was attentive and very friendly!

Came back off the whim as we didn’t have a great time a while back and my god what a change. The food was amazing .. big thanks to the manager Charlotte who took full control of our meal and just smashed it out the park. She even went and made our dessert so we didn’t have to wait. Just wish she was on the day we last visited feel things would have gone a lot different. Completely turned our bad experience around. What a girl. Thanks again hun x

Me and my boyfriend came for lunch, we waited 40 minutes for drinks another 40 minutes for our starters and an hour for our main to come out the food was cold and tasteless. We ordered from the set menu and was charged an extra £17, they did take it off when we asked about it. Over all wouldn’t recommend this pub to anyone I know absolutely awful.

Sad to leave a 1 star review. Although I was hesitant to go here again after the food I had tried previously was burnt and cold… This time we booked a table last week for a birthday celebration. Only to be told when we arrived that this table had been cancelled. These things happen but whoever took the responsibility of cancelling the booking, should have done so properly. We all arrived and paid for drinks, no sincere apology was even attempted.

Terrible service, would say terrible food but didn’t even get the opportunity to try any as when we turned up, was told that our table had been cancelled after it was definitely booked. Wasted journey, fuel, time and effort to be absolutely let down last minute. Went for an Indian instead!

The staff were lovely. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. The food was beautifully cooked however there was one issue with all the food we ate: Starters Black pepper Squid King Prawn and Scallops Mains King Prawn, Chorizo and Scallop linguine Honey Glazed Belly Pork and Scallops Apart from the Squid they were all crazy sweet. Not just a little but extremely sweet. The pork kind of worked but the linguine was literally like a dessert. I appreciate that people have different tastes and as I said the presentation was fantastic and the pork was cooked to perfection but it was just too sweet for me. If not for the sweetness, I would have given 5 stars. Please get some second opinions on the sweetness.

Lovely food and really good service

Will never go back. Went with friends and family for dinner. The music is so loud you couldn't hear each other. Even the choice of music was more like a night club. We waited about 20mins before our drinks order was taken then another 20mins before received. Food order eventually taken. All starters arrived apart from one. Whipped goats cheese and beetroot. Absolutely awful was like slop! Said they were waiting for the toast. Everyone else had eaten their starter by thr timeit arrived. They didn't charge us. The mains eventually arrived. I asked for my lamb to be pink. No pink in sight!. The fillet steaks were OK though. Didn't wantnto try anything else. The toilets need a good clean and checking more often both mens and ladies were an absolute mess.

Lovely time. The food was actually so amazing Wednesday night. Will be returning very soon

Just had a mother's day lunch, the manager was lovely very welcoming and friendly to the fact we had a baby and a pram. Not sure why they put us up two flights of stairs but he offered to carry our pram. The food was ok, my starter was missing the lemon gremolata that was written on the menu, the roast was ok, but again missing the crackling promised on the menu. The waitresses were very nice. My boyfriend enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding. We would come back again to give it another go!

The service was friendly but everything took so long, drinks and food was ages and took away from the enjoyment of the experience.

Tables and bar needed clearing and a clean and £21 for 2 x pints and 2 x cokes was a bit excessive.

The server was lovely. But the food was so bad. The steak sandwiches were cold and overcooked, the burger was literally burnt and as hard as a rock and took 30 mins to arrive - after everyone else had finished eating. We were celebrating my nephew's 1st birthday, and ordered him chicken strips and chips - what arrived was a 1/4 chicken on the bone...for a child...

Went for a drink as a group of 8 on a Sunday afternoon. No space inside for our number, so we sat outside. Queues at the bar as the Madri ran out, and overall the prices were at the very high end. I love my village but this pub takes the "p" on pricing.

Whilst the food was delicious, the wait for food was nearly an hour which is unacceptable. There were many people around us, complaining about the food and the wait, and it was clear that the pub was understaffed.

Went back to this restaurant after about a 5 year break, menu choices was very good, and food was very good. The ribeye steak I ordered was excellently cooked. Our waitress Chloe was very attentive and did an excellent job. We will definitely go back again.

Met friends for lunch. Waited a long time for food, which when served was burnt on 3 of the meals. We asked for them to be done again. It was served back with little changes to the original offering. The scallops on the 2nd plate were not cooked properly and were raw in the middle. The waitress was good, but the trouble seems to be with the kitchen.

The service was slow and the food was either not cooked enough or burnt to a crisp. I mean how do you over cook a Yorkshire pudding? Another table sent the apple crumble back because it was too cold. The cheeseburger had nacho cheese from the movie theater on it. Just all around poor showing.

We were 1st time diners here my wife and I meeting friends. Although we'd driven past many times and had always commented how nice it looked, we'd never set foot inside. I cannot wait to go back. Even though it was a damp February afternoon the place was buzzing. Large groups of people filled the tables and there was a great atmosphere. Once our food started to arrive we could see why. Beautifully cooked and gorgeously presented this was not pub grub it was fine dining . Portion sizes were generous but not overbearing and although my desired steak was unavailable the pork belly second choice was a delicious replacement. Desserts were followed by another bottle of wine until we had to reluctantly leave. It may have been our first visit but I know it will not be our last.

Brilliant pub, always has been when I've gone

Went here with my family today, 6 adults one high chair, after 2 hours we had only had a mains (all roasts, no complicated orders) and one drink, service was awful, had to clean our own table and request cutlery for dessert. The place was empty which is clearly linked to how bad it has become! Do not recommend.

Food was great and the service was impeccable, Chloe our waitress was superb and went above and beyond to make or experience exceptional. Cannot wait to go back and repeat a wonderful meal.

We used to be regulars pre covid, it was excellent, came once during Covid and was unimpressed. Decided to give it another try. We were only two of four customers, offered a table for two, asked if we could sit at the table next to it which was for four and were left to wait while the waiter double checked availability...in an almost empty restaurant ??. It didnt exactly look as if they were expecting four coaches to fill it. I had the sea bass, very overcooked it was crunchy round the edges and the strip in the middle that wasnt crunchy and coloured was very dry, chips were overcooked, most peas hard, no sign of a garlic parsley dressing My husband had a very dry steak and malbec pie, no mash as they had run out on a Wednesday, was offered roast potatoes as a substiture which were OK. I could not have served either meal at home, I would be too embarrassed. 2/10 as they had Oyster Bay in stock. We often go to the Miller and Carter in Maidstone which is excellent and are surprised the White Horse is part of the same group.

Myself and my wife had a wine and dine meal, which was incredible. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend the steak. I couldn't fault anything with the service, food or venue. I would highly recommend the white horse to anyone.

Just returned from a 3 course dinner at The White Horse. The three young lads behind the bar were fun and efficient. The service and our lovely young waitress were fabulous. Our food was absolutely delicious. Would thoroughly recommend.

Very cold in there. You'd think on the coldest day of the year, they would actually turn the heating up.

Very good experience with amazing gammon and egs. Sadly, the fish and chips and the onion soup were not seasoned enough, but other than that it was a lovely place with amazing service, good drinks and a very good eggs, chips and gammon.

We came here New Years day, it was our first time, we were a party of 10. The pub is absolutely beautiful & the atmosphere was lovely. The food was absolutely gorgeous just so tasty. Oh my God, what an absolute disgrace. Boxing Day mayhem. Bad management no food by 2pm tables walking out staff in tears and as for the shift manager blame everyone else but there own fault. We booked a table of four @2pm as soon as we turned up we were told they had already sold out of three of the five main menu items. Lamb or a turkey dinner we basically all that was left apart from standard fish&chips or a Chicken burger. ON BOXING DAY. SHAMBLES!! Ordered mains then girl came back 10 minutes later to say three out of the four was not not available went from stupid to insane. Ran out of puddings wine delivered to wrong tables people walked out without paying bills after starters. Utter disarray. This has now happened twice to us very poor management. This place used to be good now will not be back. If I could give it zero stars I would. Disgraceful.

Brilliant staff who chatted to us and checked we were ok. It was Christmas Day and you were packed out with lunch bookings. Menu was great with enough choices. We enjoyed a lovely chat with Manager Tom as well.

Everything about this place is only average. Here's an update on my previous review. Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime for a drink in the bar area. The decor was in desperate need of a clean up. Light fittings were broken, the carpets were filthy and most of the tables were covered in glasses left behind by previous customers. Table menus were tatty and torn. I got the impression that the management were only interested in the restaurant. It's not surprising that the bar was very quiet and the Oak on the Green PH, across the green was busy. I know where I'll go for a drink next time. Below average ratings now.

Terrible customer service. table was booked 3 weeks in advance. turned up with my party of 7 to be told barely any food available from the menu. staff member agreed they should of called us a few hours ago and we didn’t have to stay. we found someone else to go, on way out staff seemed to find it funny that we were leaving which is just exceptionally bad. very immature staff.

Went here for a Christmas work lunch. We all pre-booked and the service was ridiculously slow, I also ordered a steak and when the food arrived, my food was stone cold and I asked for the steak to be re-cooked. The waiter asked if i wanted it reheated (in a microwave) to which is said no, only for the team to disregard my request and re-heat the steak. Me or my colleagues, will not be returning.

My wife visited here Thursday 7th Dec to meet a friend for lunch, the service was atrocious, from start to the end, she ordered a beef burger, it tasted horrible so could not eat it, the tomato ketchup and mayonnaise were served in badly cracked pots, very bad hygiene risk Complained on line and give such a negative response, unreal!! Avoid at all cost
