The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Absolutely delicious home cooked Indian food. Great service and interior. The best around for sure. So popular that one has to book two weeks in advance but its a treat worth waiting for.

We had a great night in the Willow tree. Staff were so friendly. Great real ale, in great condition. And a fantastic band called sheducation were playing that night.

We had an amazing time. The food was outstanding and the service faultless. The view from the first floor balcony was great. Definitely going to come back. A special mention to our lovely waitress Lauren.

Came in here with my daughter today and the babyccino was lacking, no chocolate powder or marshmallows, just a rather insipid cup of frothy milk. Both croissants were stale, almond one was worse. My cappuccino was ok. Tired decor and a shabby door that slammed too easily. Ineffectual and lacklustre staff, they weren’t busy but nobody offered to help a lady with a walking frame when she left. Certainly not worth visiting again!

El pub en sí está bien. Hice un elogio para la madre de un amigo que falleció el año pasado. Esto es sobre el plato ridículamente pequeño de palomitas de pollo, unas 12 piezas por nueve libras. Trabajó a 80 peniques por pedacito. No es suficiente para una persona y menos para dos. Great breakfast - available to non residents. Good choice with more than the usual options. Quality food and fast, friendly service from a lovely team of servers. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal with friends in the restaurant. The food was top notch and the service effiecient and friendly. Can't praise the staff enough.

Visiting yesterday for first time. Enjoying catching up with my late Father’s friend for some drinks, who I hadn’t seen for 20 yrs.. When it came to paying, my elderly Mother offered to pay. She went to pay and they told her, that we had, had more drinks than we had. My friend had ordered another drink, prior to us arriving, which we didn’t know he’d order. A genuine mistake on his part, as we had been talking for over an hour, about the last 20 yrs. When leaving, my Father’s friend heard the owner say “Another con artist”. It was an actual innocent mistake, not a con, as the owner put it. If I had heard such words, I’d have certainly said something. With this in mind, none of us will be going there again.

Así que fuimos aquí anoche, éramos cuatro y estábamos deseando probar el nuevo menú... Si soy honesto, me decepcionó bastante, no estoy seguro si fue un chef diferente de la última vez que fuimos. Pero mi esposa y yo coincidimos en que no era tan bueno como la última vez que visitamos, lo cual es una pena, ya que recomendamos ir aquí a la gente con la que fuimos... En general pensé que era bastante promedio y definitivamente no tan bueno como antes. Lo recomendaría, pero estoy seguro de que hay mejores lugares para ir localmente.

Aquí para el almuerzo del domingo. Siempre fue uno de nuestros pubs ‘go to’ especialmente para el almuerzo del domingo, pero ahora es absolutamente excepcional. Tal vez un cambio de gestión, pero ahora muy acogedor y la carne de res era hermosa y sabrosa. El crumble de manzana era divino.

Moored near here on first night of canal boating holiday. Very good atmosphere with real local people and excellent food. Went back a few days later for the folk night, a good number of people taking turns to sing and play. Landlord a very kindly and charming character providing an excellent time for all.

Siempre solía dejar una buena crítica aquí, pero las últimas dos visitas fueron muy decepcionantes. Antes de anoche el pastel de carne parecía salado y las chirivías se cocinaron hasta que quedaron negras. Ayer, de nuevo el pastel estaba extremadamente salado y las cuñas de patata se cocinaron hasta la muerte. En ambas ocasiones la comida, especialmente la verdura era tibia. El personal es encantador. Creo que echaremos de menos este lugar por un tiempo.

Having visited twice for two family birthday celebrations I wanted to just thank the staff for there hospitality and friendliness along with the excellent meals we all had and enjoyed. Excellent service nice the landlord takes time for a chat also. Portion sizes really generous so can’t wait to try Sunday roasts

We had our wedding here on the 28 August 2024. What a fabulous day from start to finish. Everything was perfect. Tom and his staff were very professional but friendly and accommodating. All our guest guests thought it was the perfect venue very relaxed. Even the weather was perfect and we were able to have our ceremony outside, but even if we needed to be inside the venue would still have been perfect. A really big thank you to Tom and his team for making our special day perfect.
