Just popped in for a baguette and like similar posts below I was shocked at the amount of fillings! One sausage cut in half and one rasher of bacon! I don't normally write reviews often but I had to write this one because paying £5.50 for that is shocking, it didn't even touch the sides! Shame as the quality was there!

We go here most weeks for a casual lunch. Always greeted by super friendly staff. The fish goujon sandwich is so delicious and the burgers are fantastic too. The vegetarian medley is really interesting with celeriac and tempura broccoli and the deserts are made with love and beautifully presented. Anastasia makes the best Aperol in Surrey!

Very unfriendly staff kept glaring at us and came to clear table before we had finished. Was there for coffee with three friends were there only 45 minutes when this happened. We won’t be going back

Best dessert I’ve had in ages! Met the new pastry chef and she is a genius. I never usually have desserts but couldn’t resist!

We love this little hidden gem. Always good food and service. Amazing cakes! And they sell plants too, bonus! Love the guinea pigs.

Festive Afternoon Tea - what a treat! We were greeted on arrival with a nicely laid out table in the stunning surroundings of the orangery! This building is amazing. The table had Christmas crackers and we were greeted very quickly - as we identified our pre-booked table. Within moments of arriving we were brought warm festive mulled apple juice, which was well decorated and exceeding flavoursome and festive. Not long after we were brought this amazing tier of afternoon tea, with a range of sumptuous sandwiches - festive incensed scones - with a range of cakes and mince pies. Tea and Coffee offered throughout. Everything was amazing with a festive twist. I would highly recommend Ashburnham Place and its stunning surroundings anytime of the year, the Orangery is second to none! A**** service, quality and vibe! Thank you!

Location and setting lovely, food nice, service very poor. The man serving at the counter, we felt enjoyed making our experience in being served quite difficult. He was uninterested, and didn’t engage or acknowledge each time I attempted to order items. Screwed up the receipt and didn’t offer it. So frustrating my family with me were very shocked that he was able to serve customers in such a manner.

Went for lunch on Saturday with family. We could see that they were very busy, although this was the case we were kept up to date on food times and how long it would take. Staff were super friendly and smiley and checked on us throughout! Very happy with the experience we had. Would definitely come again.

Really delicious selection of fresh sandwiches including baguettes, toasties and filled focaccias priced around £4. The focaccia in the photo is the Brie and bacon focaccia which was £3.95. Staff will also heat it up for you which made it taste even better. Pastries cost around £2 each which is reasonably priced for a high street bakery and the cinnamon roll was very sweet and flavourful at prices at £1.90. There is not a large seating area and it can get busy but all in all a lovely place to have a light lunch.

It is a nice setting, ok for adults who aren’t after extensive choice other than fry up options really -which are nice enough. But it is not set up for young children, no menu variation to accommodate youngsters in general really, definitely nothing for breakfasts. I asked for 1 slice of toast just to provide something for a 2 year old. It was luke warm and ‘soggy’, it came with 2 butter packs and a cheap jam portion…. And to top it off, it cost £4.20!!! The croissant incidentally, I ordered, came as two mini (approximately 5cms each in length) bite size croissants for £2.60, makes Starbucks and costa look very reasonably priced. When I queried I had been charged for two slices, I was told that that was the only option on the till… might have been a good idea to share that when I ordered! Why are they still only taking cash? 🤔 Pleasant staff, didn’t have to wait long for service but didn’t come away thinking the food/options were as good as other local places ☹️ Sorry to be negative, but when you head out as a family and pay for numerous people, you need to know everyone is going to be accommodated. PS : bin the ridiculous high chair seats and get proper ones .

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Roebuck Inn with my partner for a special occasion—my birthday—and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We started with the Spiced Lamb Cutlet, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For mains, we had the Specialty Lamb Madras and the Spiced Salmon, both of which were exquisite. Every bite was a delight! To make the evening even more memorable, the staff surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful touch. The wine selection was excellent, and the service was truly brilliant—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The Roebuck is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether for a special occasion or just a great meal out, this is the place to go.
