Lovely Café/restaurant, we came in for breakfast and we really loved the food. Generous portion, good quality sausage and bacon, the cappuccino was good too. Quick service and nice, clean facilities. The covered area outside is pleasant enough, despite the surroundings. We'll be back.

This was the first time we visited Whispers. We both oredered the coronation chicken sandwich, which came with a side salad. It was amasing. Normally we would get the run of the mill mass produced filling. However, this filling was made on site and was delicious. Many thanks for a good experience. We will be back again.

I haven't been to Whispers for some time, but thought I would give it a second chance as I had a meeting with someone. Perfectly pleasant interior, lots of choice on the breakfast front. However, my initial good impressions were completely wrecked by the incredibly rude man (owner/manager) who approached my husband. My husband walked in to meet me carrying an empty coffee cup (we recycle). The man rushed over and very aggressively said to my husband that he couldn't drink the coffee in the shop; my husband explained he wasn't drinking it, but the man refused to accept this and basically asked my husband to leave. His whole tone was aggressive and hostile. We would have stayed for a breakfast had this not happened, but the atmosphere was toxic. We understand that they don't want other coffee shop drinks being consumed and had my husband been allowed to speak, he would have confirmed he was going to order a drink. The whole exchange could have been handled politely and with good humour, instead of which my husband was hustled out of the shop. We left shortly afterwards. Sorry, Whispers, I won't ever come back. There are other outlets where our custom is valued.

Love this cafe. We come here every week and the food and service is always great. The sandwiches are always on fresh bread with a great choice of fillings and the cakes are always amazing. The main lady who runs the cafe is lovely and very friendly and the service is always quick. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice cafe for coffee & cake! The only downside is the acoustics make it very noisy when it's busy

Came here with my partner and as soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was dreadful! There were 2 older women at the counter and they wouldn't even look at us, let alone say hello! The woman who served us was incredibly rude, hard faced, just unpleasant. Wouldn't look us in the eye. My partner asked for warm squash and she basically lost her temper at us saying we can't have that. Tables were dirty, staff horrible, food was very expensive and wasn't the best. Won't be returning, do not recommend. A man who my partner said was the owner, was sitting a few tables away and the entire time, he was just staring us down. Very off-putting while we were eating. Weird behaviour??

Been here a few times this year during lockdown and sat outside. Now the weather has turned it would be good if they can put some outdoor patio heaters or heat lamps to support all the outdoor seating because whilst this virus is prevalent a lot of people would rather sit outside in the fresh air and enjoy their food/drinks rather than indoors amongst lots of other humans. Wonderful establishment tucked away in the car park behind Sainsbury's. To me the quality of any establishment that does all-day breakfasts can be judged from the quality of its sausages. Whispers do not disappoint really good quality tasty proper real sausages the other ingredients don't disappoint either.Pleasant cheerful staff giving prompt and efficient service make for a good eating experience. Busy on both my recent visits with what seemed like a good local clientele has to me to be a good recommendation for any establishment.Whilst not supermarket cheap prices are reasonable and certainly worth it it. During a weekend away with friends we popped in to enjoy a hot drink. My friend doesn’t drink tea or coffee so ordered a squash and hot water. We sat down and our very helpful and polite sever arrived to tell us we couldn’t have the hot water and squash. Confused he wasn’t able to tell us why. Naturally as my friend was now without a drink I decided to enquire. I was met with disdain and rudeness. Lots of ranting about burning toddlers mouths and I explained several times that the drink was for a 43 year old lady and we had no kids with us. Eventually she agreed we could have squash in a glass and hot water in a mug. Quite why simply putting them together was so difficult I’ve no idea. She did mention health and safety in her rant but I didn’t understand that given the female staff were serving food with hair hanging out and sugar bowls uncovered on the table.

Well, anyone who has seen my other reviews, knows that I avoid giving poor reviews if possible but this cafe was such a disappointment that I won't be going back. To the owners of Whispers - In case you don't know, the demand for plant-based food is rising dramatically globally (google it) - that means the organisations that are on trend - including the chain, Cafe Nero (Sells mozarella style cheese and tomato toasted sandwiches; soya or oat milk for coffee);. Superstores like Waitrose (which has a Vegan section now) are all stocking large amounts of vegan products. The unsmiling woman who served us advised me that they did not have vegan cakes as "you only get the occasional request and the rest is not eaten so it gets thrown away". Having run a business in the past, I can understand about returns on investment but google The Flint Owl in Lewes and Hartfields in Uckfield and see my reviews for them The Manager at the Flint Owl says they always have vegan options including cake and that it goes quickly. Hartfields did the most beautifully prepared vegan breakfast and tea with oat milk with lovely happy caring staff. The cakes at the Flint Owl look so inviting, people just want a slice..vegan or not. You could buy some smoked cheddar style cheese slices (Violife) and keep them in the fridge and offer with tomatoes? And you had no butter free spread (don't know what happens to my dairy allergy friends). You clearly didn't really care and were not going to make any suggestions about something tasty. Won't be back.

I've never thought of writing a review before until I overheard a lady complaining, to her friend, about how miserable and rude the staff are.. I live locally and pop in here several times a month - for coffee, cake or a tasty lunch. The cakes aren't too great to be honest - quite dense but cold - but the other food is consistently good in a simple, unsophisticated way - which is quite nice when there is so much gastro-pricebump stuff around. The full english is good. The place is nice too, clean and spacious - a good place to meet a friend .. but ... I have never ever ONCE received a smile from either of the two blonde ladies who serve/work here. I am only ever ever met with a stony face, as though I am really, really annoying and really putting them out - or they actually dislike me. As a regular I thought maybe a smile wouldn't be too much to ask for ..... i've been waiting a year or two (or it could be three) and its not just me who is getting the cold shoulder - its everyone (i've been watching to see in case it IS just me but i'm a fairly upbeat sort of person!)

I decide to treat my daughter to a bacon sandwich and coffee, the same for me too (bill was over £12), as I working today,I also had a toddler and a baby with me too, While I was ordering our refreshments/breakfast,(10.30/10.45 am) ,my daughter who's 14,thought it be nice to give the toddler one tiny cocktail sausage to munch (always have rice cakes/something else in bag) ,when I got back to the table and sat down, we were severed our coffees, while drinking these, the owner/manager came across, stood in the middle of room and started to shouting at me (humiliating as there were other customers sitting and eating there) ,that I was not allowed to feed the toddler/baby any food, aless it was bought on the premises (no sigh saying you not allowed too) and that he had a kid menu (which is not visible to see or advertised clearly enough) clearly at 10.30/45, it would been to late for the toddler to have breakfast (already had it) and to early for toddler to have lunch,so wouldn't need a children's menu anyway and cannot eat certain foods) The owner/manger just kept shouting that he had a kids menu and that I should buy a meal off that for the kids,he wouldn't let me explain, that the toddler hadn't eaten the sausage anyway, and I had only bit a little bit off to give to the baby to try, and that the toddler has food allergies and dietary requirements, so couldn't eat from the menu anyway) , i wouldn't be writing this review, if he came over nicely and spoke to me like a civilised person quietly (not humiliated me and my daughter who's 14 ) and let me explain why the toddler had a tiny cocktail sausage!!

The service is very good and food gets serviced so quickly. They do great breakfasts and I love having a quick peek in their little shop - lots of nice gifts. I absolutely recommend this place. It's very busy on a Sunday morning, so make sure you're there before 11:30.

I first noticed Whispers by walking past and picking up the delightful smell of their food cooking away and thought I must investigate. The welcome was warm, the menu and specials all read wonderfully and the cakes on display were very enticing! I had a huge cooked breakfast and two cups of coffee which were very reasonably priced....and even found room to share a piece of the delicious cake with my dining companion. The shop which sells furniture and trinkets as you walk through is well worth a look as you come or go, my partner and I have already bought two mirrors and we will be back for more I'm sure. I will most definitely be retuning and will enjoy working my way through the rest of the food, drinks and cakes! Billy's has some major competition!

A breakfast at whispers always feels like a treat! I'm a creature of habit and Toby knows it, caramel latte is divine. Light and airy, perfect place to meet friends, it is far too easy to spend far too long chatting away a morning. Shop displays always fascinating, usually lose another ten minutes just looking around at the trinkets and treasures! Cakes sourced locally and are very very tasty! Staff are wonderful, Andrea - always happy to see me, Toby - always attentive, Mark and Paul are a wonderful pair!

Popped in for a quick breakfast by chance on my way through as I managed to park in the free car park on a busy Saturday morning. I went for the half English breakfast and an Americano coffee, both were served quickly and did the job. I would stop here again if I were in area. Seemed popular with the locals which is always a good sign.

We visit whispers in Billingshurst very often for a breakfast or coffee and cake. This is a lovely spot in a village that gives you an opportunity to relax before of after you've done your shopping and offers a fantastic range of freshly made cakes. Portions are quiet substantial and food is always cooked using organic products from local/ surrounded farms. There is s litter outdoor area where you can indeed enjoy s beautiful day with scup of delicious coffee. Additionally whispers have their own gift shop full of hand made and beautifully decorated items. Highly recommended.

We were recommended to try this Cafe by a local pub who don't serve food on a Monday. Pleased that we did. On a lovely day, tables and chairs had been put outside for customers who wanted to eat in the sun but inside there were comfy seats and sofas too, if the weather was not so clement. There is a shop in the cafe with good range of retro and unusual gifts, all there to tempt you. Primarily though, I want to write about the wholesome, well cooked and generous portioned food. My partner had one of their homemade soups (courgette and cheese), which was delicious and served with newly baked roll. I chose prawns with advocado stacked high and beautifully presented. Great coffee too. On paying the bill at the counter, I spotted some wonderful home made cakes and resolved to return when next travelling in West Sussex for a legendary afternoon tea.

My partner and I came to whispers for some lunch. We looked at the very very basic menu and found it hard to find anything we liked or wanted. Eventually we decided and asked to order extras. We were charged for the extras, the person serving us was a very polite young man, who was very helpful. We sat down and waited. We were then approached with our food (which I expect was the owner/ manager) bringing it along. This arrogant, rude and disrespectful man told us that in future we wouldn't be able to order what we just had because it wasn't a 'set meal' on the menu. We were also told that in future we would be charged more as we were charged incorrectly. My partner and I sat there gobsmacked. He then put the food down and left us there humiliated in front of other people and confused. Needless to say my partner and I were so embarrassed we did not eat our meal and paid the 'extra money'. I would not give this man my custom EVER AGAIN! Steer clear of this place!

I ordered a jacket potato with Coronation chicken and when it came there were so many additions - coleslaw, salad, tomato. What a plateful! My husband had a lovely quiche and salad which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were asked if we'd like glasses of water (we did) then we had coffee. The bill came to less than £20 which we thought was very reasonable. We'll certainly be going there again.g there again.

Nice enough pub, with a reasonable drinks selection and friendly staff. We visited for a family lunch (on recommendation) and the place is very geared up for food. However, the food is absolutely dreadful: over cooked, bland and (in the case of the bao buns that I had) inedibly dry. Seems very popular, for reasons unknown to this visitor.

We ordered breakfast at out table and it was delivered quickly with every detail perfectly executed. The food was hot and fresh and really tasty. The drinks were also perfect. I paid what I thought was a fair price and will definitely be returning. You’ll go a long way to find better food in Horsham.

Unfortunately we felt on this occasion the food really was not up to the usual standard - whitebait over cooked - chips not their usual crispy delicious standard - but everyone has an off day and we said it would not deter us from returning HOWEVER we found out as we were leaving that after 14 years of trading the Orchard is due to close at the end of September 😔 So sad as , as a family some who are no longer with us it was always are “go to” place for a good quality home cooked meal . So what ever the owners plans are for the future we wish them good luck 😋
