The Bridge Inn in Horsham

We had a lovely evening meal (starter, main and dessert) and couldn’t fault any of it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The prawn and crayfish starter was delicious. Really good value for money.

A nice welcome, and excellent food. Served at really clean pine tables with none of the nasty stickiness on the surface that one encounters so often nowadays. A numbers of diners were clearly regulars. All in all, very satisfactory. Car parking is a bit tight though, with large white painted wooden sleepers marking the smallish spaces. But you have to work with what you have. We shall be going again.

First visit. Absolutely excellent. Staff warm, welcoming and attentive. Food was excellent quality and best of all hot! Something most places find difficult to achieve. Great value for money. Could not fault it and will definitely return. Highly recommend.

Great meal in the garden, seabass was superb, great Hamburger too. Proper chips too, crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inside.

Despite it being Bank Holiday Monday they stopped serving food at 3pm and told us at 2.20pm that we couldn’t order food as there was an hours delay ! On a bank holiday ???? Clearly they aren’t desperate for custom. Who doesn’t staff correctly or cater enough for a busy summer bank holiday ? In such uncertain economic times pubs with this attitude don’t deserve to be in business It was hardly overrun with visitors

Went for dinner after visiting the museum. Great service staff very friendly, food was amazing, We had the sea bass and the burger which was delicious. Great location nice garden outside. Will be back for sure

I was a little deflated with my visit here, as after a long walk in the area with this being out end point we were very thirsty and got our drinks. It’s not until I got home and worked out that my orange juice was £5.90!!! And the lady behind the bar just poured it from the carton. I also ordered a rhubarb crumble, which my friends told me take back as looked awful and ice cream hardly melted so was only luke warm. My friends were also shocked at the prices of the drinks. Such a shame as it was lovely in the garden and it was a popular pub on this nice sunny day. With those prices I don’t think I will be returning

Overall, The Bridge Inn combines excellent food, superb service, and a fantastic atmosphere, making it a top choice for anyone looking for a great pub experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

We had a lovely evening meal here, a crab salad which was very enjoyable.

Travelled from Arundel by train. Only a 2 minute walk round to the Bridge inn. Food superb. We both had a delicious generous steak & kidney pudding with steamed veg and gravy. No need for buttery veg. Followed by rhubarb crumble and a pot of custard. Sorry no photos taken. Enjoying it too much. Other restaurants only ice cream with crumble..not a fan. Staff helpful friendly and efficient. First time we have eaten there. Definitely will visit again. Already recommended to our friends. No need to drive if you live in arundel get the train there and back. Easy.

We’d been to the Roman remains and wanted a lunch by the river, hence Amberley. We ate outdoors and ordered from the fast food menu. Very friendly service and the food was good. In the right kind of weather it’s a very relaxing way to enjoy lunch.

The photo of the Sunday roast doesn't do it justice hahhaah the potatoes were phenomenal!! I think we spent a good 20 mins just getting into why they did it so well 🤣🤣🤣

The food...simply delicious food here. The honey mustard sausage starter has to be had! Good menu options and always a good selection of beer available too. Lovely location and well worth a visit.

Sunday lunch sitting out on the patio. Delicious roast dinner (I had the stilton nut roast). Service and setting absolutely perfect. Really efficient and inviting team.

Great pub, food was really tasty, beer was good and atmosphere was really nice- not overly gastropub but still a nice setting. Extra star for not forcing a service charge - the service was truly great and when we tipped the waiter gratefully explained that it is shared across the staff.

A beautiful quaint pub by the River Arun. We stopped for a lunch & drinks on route from Portsmouth to Gatwick. Staff super friendly, ploughman’s superb, good portion & really tasty. The menu choice is excellent to suit everyone. Lovely beer garden & outside seating, pub cosy & welcoming. We will be back, thank you.

We had chicken salad and chicken pesto pasta, both of them were so good that I want to come back next week!!!

We as a group of 7 friends that stayed at the Bunkhouse up the road was recommended this place by the owner who had said if you want good beers go here, well we did. We all enjoyed different meals at this place last night excellent customer service from the friendly staff. Very big portions of my fish and chips peas and tartare sauce all for £16.50 see photos attached below. But the only bad thing was the lack of vegetables with the steak and kidney pudding and only had one potato cut in half wanted more or both the vegetable's. Other then that we all had an exciting time & thank you.

Very nice food and a great location to have a lunch after morning walk.

Very hostile to young families with young children. The manager/owner clearly doesn’t want young children in her pub and our party actually left very upset by her comments. We had 4x toddlers with us as it was a family meet up and whilst we did you very best to clean up what was on the floor, the manager said it was ‘the most mess she had ever seen in her life’. It was essentially the remininants of a few squashed carrots and peas. All I can say is, I think she has had a very sheltered life if that’s the most mess she had ever seen. I am all for being respectful to hospitality staff, but without a mop and bucket this was the best we could possibly do. No nappy changing facilities. Food was below average.

Stopped by spontaneously on Easter Sunday after a long walk in the area. Despite it being a very busy day, the staff were lovely and offered us a table for 2 inside. The weather was good so we sat outside and enjoyed fish and chips and the most delicious Ploughman's I've had for sometime. The staff were lovely, cheerful and helpful. No wonder this place is so popular.

Called up last minute for a table on Good Friday and managed to secure the last available one. Our first time eating inside and the Bridge Inn doesn’t disappoint. A beautiful setting both inside and out. Welcoming and friendly staff. A wonderful atmosphere and ambiance. The extensive menu offers something for every palate. Chose the sharing baked Camembert to start, with the macaroni cheese and pancetta ham for myself and the Lebanese stew for my lady. The food is incredible. It is meticulously and freshly prepared, wonderfully presented and perfectly cooked. I cannot recommend The Bridge Inn enough. If you can’t take a date, take a mate. We will be back again very soon.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch at this pub. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful even allowing us to eat earlier than we had booked. The food was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. The perfect ploughman’s, delicious steak pie and fabulous sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding. My husband was extremely happy as plenty of custard for once !! I would thoroughly recommend this pub if you are in the area . Great ambience and decor in the pub too .

We had often driven past but today decided to go for lunch. Wow, what a place! Lovely interior and simply fabulous food. I had macaroni cheese and it was creamy and delicious. My husband had chicken from the specials menu and said the sauce was divine. But the chocolate brownie was to die for! The best I’ve eaten in years. Brilliant service too, and my husband who walks with two sticks was treated like royalty. 10/10!

Nice place, but my main course was awful. It cost £62.75 for the 2 of us. Very expensive for what it was. Disappointed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience at The Bridge Inn on New Year's Day! The roast was absolutely delicious—definitely one of the best we've had, with generous portions that left us satisfied. The roast potatoes were a standout! The staff were efficient and friendly, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. And the homemade crumble was a delightful treat to finish off the meal. Thank you to the team for a lovely dining experience!

We met a local couple in St Michael's Churchyard and they recommended the Bridge Inn as serving good pub food. I feel they had downplayed the food and ambience as we found it superb. We arrived promptly at 12 noon and were welcomed in by a glowing fire and were seated nearby on a table for two. We enjoyed some lovely food, drinks and service. We would heartily recommend this dining experience and venue but you do need to book to avoid disappointment. We were lucky - I hope that you are too. December 29th 2023.

Excellent, traditional pub beside the Arun River in Amberley. Beautiful decor inside, staff and friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely divine and reasonably priced for a county pub. Great selection of ale and wine, within walking distance of the amberley working museum so an ideal spot for food after a day out.

Visited on the evening of November 29th. Warmly greeted by staff at the bar, then shown to our table by Emily who afforded us friendly service throughout the evening 👍👍.. 2 of the party of 4 had never dined with you before & as such were ready to be tempted by the varied menu 😊.. We all decided to go for 3 courses & it's safe to say, we all enjoyed everything that was placed in front of us. We plan to return in the not too distant future..😊👍

We enjoyed a great Sunday lunch at this lovely pub. The menu offered excellent choices at reasonable prices. The food was of a really good quality. The service was also very good. We will definitely return.

Food and service are really great. Roasts were amazing. Really fancied coffee after the meal to be told only milk was available with no alternative. Just left two of us disappointed 😞 Please stock alternatives as this was a letdown after such a lovely experience.

Wir waren vor ein paar Jahren bereits Gast in diesem Pub und sehr zufrieden. Daher sind wir auf unserer Reise mittags gezielt dorthin gefahren. Obwohl wir keinen Tisch reserviert hatten wurde unserer Familie von fünf Personen schnell eine Sitzmöglichkeit hergerichtet. Wir haben nur kleine Gerichte verzehrt, waren aber sehr zufrieden. Bestimmt kommen wir wieder hierhin.

Netter uriger Pup. Habe hier spontan ein Mittagessen eingenommen. Wir kamen ohne Reservierung mit fünf Personen und es wurden uns sofort zwei Tische zusammengestellt. Das Essen war lecker, die Bedienung freundlich und die Atmosphäre typisch für einen britischen Pup.

We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after

Enjoyed excellent service and lovely food today the dog friendly pub is not to be missed. Today had the lamb burger from the specials board best pub grub I've tasted in years we will be back soon well done total delight 👌

Had a leisurely lunch and drinks at this pub. The location is great and the service was as it should be.' There was a good choice of beers and dink, as well as a varied menu. OUr food was really tasty. Look forward to returning

Great service from the whole team at the Bridge Inn. we were in Sussex for the motor racing at Goodwood. we had a meal & drinks on 3 occasions over the weekend. all the staff and the food was top quality. highly recommended. will be going again next year.

Have been to the Bridge Inn for dinner the last 3 days and it gas been the best meals out we have had in donkeys years. The food was first class. Always hot, served by very friendly and polite staff. They very helpful and accommodating. The Sunday roast was one of the best I have ever had out. Thank you all very much.

Happened across this pub on our random travels through the English countryside. Stopped in for lunch and we were really happy with the food and service. The drinks selection was excellent as well, so all in all, a great lunch stop - highly recommended.

Great pub. Turned up late on Sunday lunchtime and they still had space, even came and offered us space inside, as it was a bit miserable outside but we wanted the fresh air. Great food and service. Lovely inside too.

We went for dinner recently for our wedding anniversary. We had an excellent meal, excellent service and very good house wine and a gluten free menu was available! Amazing! I completely agree with another recent reviewer where we have several indifferent meals and terrible service in other local pubs. Thank goodness for The Bridge!

Again as it's been nearly a year since we last had lunch there,after a trip around Arundel before hand we then went on to the Bridge inn. This is a lovely warm and very friendly place and so quaint,and we were made welcome on our arrival. We were shown to our table,drinks ordered and served, our food order taken, it was nice to soak up the atmosphere whilst we waited. Our meal was then served to us and again were not disappointed, I had one of the chefs specials, a mouthwatering fish pie,and Rosemary had the macaroni cheese which she enjoyed immensely. It was a throughly enjoyable meal. May we pass on our thanks to the staff at the Bridge Inn for the warm welcome and our lovely lunch From Ray, Rosemary, and our dog Susie

Don’t go as often as we should. This is a good honest boozer with good pub grub. It has no pretensions to be anything else and why should it. Nicely kept, and a good range of beer. Friendly staff. Competitively priced. Cannot think of what else you would want from a pub.

Wanted to comment on the customer service at this pub which was very good and was a welcome change to what we often receive elsewhere which is poor and disinterested. We received a warm welcome and all the staff treated us promptly and efficiently . It was also nice to find that the menu advertised online was the menu on offer on the day in situ . We had a lovely relaxed lunch.

Of the two village pubs in Amberley/Houghton this pub probably edges it in terms of the quality of the food and the service. It’s hard to beat sitting outside on a warm summer’s evening. It’s visited by lots of walkers which speaks for itself. The pub inside is very traditional but I think this is a real summer pub with a good menu.

My wife and I visited the Bridge Inn for date night, after many months of passing it and saying we wanted to give it a try. All in all, I’m very pleased we did. The service was unintrusive, food was delicious and location beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant little gem. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and reasonably priced. Menu is a typical pub menu with enough interesting options to make it a bit exciting. Halloumi fritters with honey and Greek yoghurt are to die for! Lovely staff. Will be back.

Stopped for a cheeky sunny weekend ploughman's and was most impressed!! Good selection on the menu, friendly efficient staff and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Will be back to try a burger or the chicken, palma ham and cheese pasta 👍
