This is the second time we have stayed here. So Paul the head of house is friendly and helpful and very welcoming, Great bloke. Good clean tasteful rooms do a credit to the pub. Now the food. I rarely have steak nowadays as its usually disappointing. BUT l had one of the best steaks I've ever had . It was obviously a high quality meat cooked to perfection by Noodles the chief. Worth his weight in gold l think. Served by Emi who was a treasure seeing that everything was perfect . Excellent selection of well kept beers ,especially the Hogsback TEA . Great place to sleep in the middle of the village. We received a very hospitable welcome and we were able to park the motorcycles in the back of the courtyard. Everything seems to have just been renovated and looks neat!

Stayed here overnight as we were attending a family wedding nearby. Booked 3 rooms for ourselves & family. All rooms were lovely, everything you could need for an overnight stay including tea/coffee making facilities, large tv, bottled water, hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel etc. Rooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with a huge comfortable double bed. The bar was nice, good selection of draught beers and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend, hope to visit again one day.

We were a bit early. Meal was good. And a friendly pub.

On arriving in this lovely pub today, I was greeted by a lady called Ally. We decided to have lunch there and as we ordered a drink, we were handed menus. I ordered the chicken burger whilst my wife ordered the double stack hamburger. My wife being on a diet at the moment asked for an unusual request of no bun fries and extra salad and got that at no extra cost. when the food arrived it was very tasteful also well presented and the chef Jamie put his own twist on a lovely home-made coleslaw and also a very nice chicken burger. Something so simple he made his own and I must say it was delicious. Speaking with Ally and Jamie I found their customer service characteristics and personality wonderful and Jamie was very thankful of my compliment to his food. I really hope to visit this pub more often and perhaps maybe have dinner there. If you visit the wonderful town of Billingshurst, then this pub is a must.

This is a pub with a good vibe and good food and drink too. Plenty of room. If live music appeals then there's something every weekend, if not your thing then pub's large enough to enable conversation away from the music. TV screens if you're into sport. Free carpark out back in evening. Recommend it.

Stayed at the Kings Head for one night on a business trip. Room was very good and bed was comfy. Car park cheap around the back of the hotel. Would stay again if I'm in the area.

Fantastic food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. They have found a balance here where you can watch sport, have a game of darts or have a quiet meal without one of them affecting the other. Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic meal from the new menu. We couldn’t ask for better service, the chef ensured my steak was cooked to perfection (I am very fussy when it comes to steak) and my husbands lamb shank was beautifully cooked and accompanied by the most incredible sauce. The new menu has so much variety and the Kings Head has such a homely welcoming feel and brilliant staff, we are looking forward to returning and would highly recommend.

I'm not Irish but I drink Guinness and this is the best Guinness I have ever had. Food is pretty good too.

Excellent food,service good but can be a bit slow occasionally when they are very busy. This goes to show how popular they are. Location good for me and staff very friendly. Best in Billingshurst village but no garden, just a small outside area. Worth it though.

We held my son's wake at the King's Head. Everyone was so caring and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A difficult time was made so much easier. Thank you all for your love and care.

Wonderful lunch for my friends birthday. Everyone abiding to the law of wearing face masks and being served at their table. The wood was yummy and the staff were friendly and polite. I like the pub it’s run by an Irish couple who are friendly and warm. Definitely go and have some food in there!

A great experience and a fantastic meal and service. This place has been recently renovated to an extremely high standard. The owners, the Manager and the staff are very hospitable and welcoming, ensuring a good time is had by all. The menu has just been extended to include home made pizzas that are exquisite. Good home pub grub, a fabulous choice of beers and great hospitality. A gem of a place for all the family to enjoy. Some great sporting memorability around the bar makes it a very welcome and interesting establishment. Won't hesitate to be back, and will be ordering a takeaway for delivery during lockdown. Great asset to the village, and keep up the great contribution to Billingshurst life. Should add that Covid integrity and guidance adherence was prevalent by everyone. Great to see.

We stopped here for lunch with our baby boy and received a very warm welcome (we think from the manager / owner) and all staff in the restaurant.There was a large dining area and a high chair was provided. Everything was very clean, including the high chair and Covid measures were in place.The food was good, reasonably priced and portions were large.We'd definitely stop here again if passing through Billingshurst - thanks very much!

Came to the king's head billingshurst by chance as another restaurant was rude so we walked out.Immediately the staff at K H started to brighten our day with a warm welcome and nice warm atmosphere.The staff were really nice and friendly, the place was lovely and clean and toilets spotless. Our first visit back a week after reopening. The Kings Head has undergone an excellent refurbishment during lockdown and looks great. Still the same friendly welcome and the same great 'pub grub'. So good to see a place retain its old charm and atmosphere after so much work. Well done.

Since my previous review 18 months ago The Head has a new manager and new chef and won West Sussex County Times pub of the year again for 2019 and has just collected The Hogs Back Brewery T.E.A. drinkers pub of the year.Visited with friends at lunchtime today to try the new Wednesday special lunch. What great food and value - Choice of 4 mains and 4 desserts plus tea/coffee for £9.95. The four of us each had different main and they were all very good Pub was warm with friendly welcome and a wide selection of beers and lagers. We'll be back!

We had never been to the Kings Head before but had heard they do some amazing live bands and the atmosphere was great. Gave it a whirl and wow, what a fantastic evening! Pub was really busy with some great locals, everyone so friendly. The bar staff were amazing, no queues at the bar considering the pub was so full and the band were fantastic. It was totally unexpected. Small country pub in a small village, but it was rocking! Got chatting to some regulars who said we had to come back and try the food, apparently it's second to none. We will be back! Next stop Sunday lunch! Thank you Paul and family for a memorable night out. :)

Went for lunch. Friendly staff and great selection of food. I had the prawn stir fry and hubby had wild mushroom tagiiatelli. Can’t wait to go back and try the other delicious things on the menu!

Went to the pub last Friday for dinner and a celebration with friends. The food was good served by very friendly staff. The people behind the bar were very friendly and attentive and remembered my round. The Disco was great and we all had a very enjoyable evening can’t wait to go back

Excellent from start to finish, meal for 12 was packed with flavour, great portion size and steaming plates. Service was efficient and friendly. Cranberry sauce in generous pots, as was the cream at the end for cheesecake.

Food, beer, atmosphere and staff all very good. I think the bar billiard table needed fixing which someone politely pointed out in the end! A very pleasant evening.

Visited today for lunch with extended family a friends as part of 50th birthday celebrations. We all had the roast Sunday lunch. Beef, Lamb and Gammon on offer plus a vegetarian option. We skipped the starters and went straight for the main. Portions were huge! All meals had rave reviews. Some brave diners also had a dessert which they equally enjoyed. Great value and really friendly service. We will certainly be back!

We have been several times in the past when the previous landlords were running the Kings Head. We were absolutely surprised when visiting this Saturday evening for a glass of wine. The bar staff were welcoming and polite, served us very quickly, football on all screens, tried to sit at the rear, no seats, landlady very abrupt when we tried to sit down, went outside, landlord very abrupt! Omg, we certainly will not be returning to this local pub again!!

Mediocre food, served with disgusting flies. Cramped table with darts flying close by. Pudding served with a peeled satsuma. Staff uninterested in anything.

Heard so many favourable comments about Sunday lunches so when some friends were visiting we thought we woukd try the mid-week food. Simple 'pub grub' menu at pub grub prices. Three different dishes between the four of us. Unanimous agreement the meals were excellent and also very good value. Also good selection of regular and guest beers.

We all had the beef but could see that the other items on the menu looked equally as good. The meal was hot, full of flavour and lots of it! The puddings were very tasty and presented really well. Highly recommended restaurant for a high quality, very tasty, home cooked meal of outstanding quality. The other diners were as happy with their meals as we were. We visited with two children who were made very welcome and offered child portions, still more than they could possibly eat! Both children were very happy with their meals.. My husband particularly loved the home cooked soda bread and left with a goody bag! Well done Kings Head another fantastic meal..

This was only our fourth visit, to show it off to my Dad. As on previous occasions everything was perfect. Great relaxed atmosphere and first class service from all the staff who are always so helpful and cheerful. Thoroughly recommend the sandwiches. Yet again had to skip dinner later. They are definitely value for money. Looking forward to going back again and again.

We visited the pub for Sunday lunch, the food was outstanding! Hot, well presented and full of flavour.. Between us we had the beef, lamb and chicken all of which were equally good. The pub has a family feel, the children were made very welcome.. Highly recommended, we will return ..

The owners and managers have done a fantastic job of turning round a once failing establishment. They have turned the place into a welcoming, friendly pub, with a fantastic choice of ales and lagers and excellent food. The owners continue to make aesthetic improvements and have turned it into a beautiful retreat. The display of sports memorabilia is quite something and is of a rugby nature. It is by far the best pub in the village whether it be for selection of drinks, food or friendly atmosphere.

Top class food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Would recommend highly for any sports fans as a superb choice of TV. You won't want to leave 🍺🍹

Mi esposa y yo disfrutamos de un desayuno y pinta 'Leones' en la cabeza de Reyes esta mañana. Sólo nos hubiera gustado haber encontrado hace siete años, cuando nuestro hijo empezó la escuela localmente.

El personal es amable y hay un sentimiento general de la comunidad en el pu, a pesar de que sólo he vivido en Billingshurst para un año. La cantidad de cervezas, vinos y pantalones cortos es extenso. No he probado la comida, pero estoy confiablemente informan que es de buena calidad. Hay música en vivo los fines de semana y deportes de temporada en la tv.

What a great pub, perfect for watching some sport on the many well positioned TV's with some very nice ales and friendly service to match. Get talking football to the guy behind the bar, proper football supporter for sure - looking forward to the next Visit already.

My father and I visited this pub whilst in the area. We both had the roast beef - perfectly cooked with lots of fresh vegetables on the side. We had desserts too which were delightful. We ate as the football and rugby was on, this did not hamper our dining experience. Very polite, efficient staff who knew the menu well. We will definitely back here the next time we are in the area!

Been here only a few times after living in Billingshurst for years. The selection of drinks are okay and the staff are alright. I like the outdoor area, as its great for socializing. The pub is used often for gigs and performances which brings the community together. The location is great as it's right in the high street of Billingshurst, and also right near a cash point.

Had Sunday lunch here with my family we had roast beef and lamb which was delicious with plenty of fresh vegetables. The pub has a great atmosphere for all ages.

Ive known this pub for over 22 years now and before it was the sort of pub you crossed the road and walked past quickly before something or someone would comw flying out the window. Since the 2years Colin and Oonagh Ganley have owned the pub the change is dramatic. The decor is fresh and comfortable, lots of different areas to use so idea for meetings, a quiet chat and also socialising . The atmosphere ia friendly and welcoming. A full range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available. The food is absolutely wonderful and very very good value for money. They have regular live bands and more importantly they never have any undesirables in there anymore in there so you always have a good night. I would highly recommend this pub, if you knew it before please give it another chance, you wont be disappointed. There are many changes due to happen in the next year which will benifit many people!

Me and my partner went for lunch with a couple of friends and the service was fine, the food looked great and tasted good but unfortunately we were all very sick later that evening.

Visited this pub last month to watch the football when visiting family, food was great and the atmosphere was OK. It's nice to see they show different games on different screens when there is multiple games going on.

Friendly and Cheerful Publican who makes you feel at ease. Mixed clientele from Office workers, Parents with young Children, Sports Fans, Couples and Friends. Limited Pub Menu but Good Food and a Sports pub with at least 3 Screens shows different sports. Reasonably priced Mains and Puddings.

Now serving food and was not a disappointment, reasonable price for a fantastic 3 course Sunday meal. Top quality and plenty of it, a must visit if not already tried, we will definitely be visiting again and again and again. Highly recommended.

Friendly bar staff and patrons, the only issues I have are that the inside looks tired (I know it is old but it looks grubby) and the plethora of TV screens in every corner of the bar, at loud volume, is overkill.With thought and some work this could be a great pub and draw a bigger crowd.

The Kings Head was always a lovely pub years ago but after changing ownership on a regular basis standards slipped alot, however about 2 years ago the pub was bought by possibly the best landlord the Kings Head has ever seen. He has spent alot of time and money on the pub and the hard work has paid off and really shows. It has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The pub is often packed at weekends when the live music is on and there people who drink there are all very friendly and welcoming. A great place to go for a drink whether it's during the day with family or on an evening out with friends. Highly recommend! The best pub in Billingshurst.

I first visited this pub before the current owners took over and oh my what a difference they have made.!! They are a friendly, professional and fun team. I now live in Billingshurst and have become part of the furniture and The Kings Head. Its like a home from home and has a great family vibe making all feel welcome and valued within the community. I wouldnt drink anywhere else in the Village.!

We tend to drink in The Kings Head in the "post-work, pre-dinner" slot when the pub is ticking over but not crowded. There is a good selection of well kept real ales and lagers, the landlord and his team are friendly, as are the people who drink in here. It gets quite lively at weekends, especially when there are bands on, and it does benefit from being a bit busier because it adds to the atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Went with a couple of friends for after dinner drinks. Have never been to this pub before. Doesn't look too inviting from the outside but wow! It's got a great atmosphere and we couldn't have been made more welcome. A real old fashioned good old pub! Had a fantastic evening.

We wanted to eat here on a Sunday, when they have their carvery (buffet). The owner (of about 6 weeks) was in the process of shutting the carvery down for the evening, but said we will make you a plate. We wanted the one course (no appetisers or dessert) for 6.95 GBP. We weren't sure what to expect really. They first brought out a plate with 3 slabs of roast beef on it for each of us. Then the plates and bowls started coming out and seemed like it didn't stop. See photo. We only hope the best for these new owners. Their service and wanting to please a customer was wonderful!
