It was a cold day and we visited for a cup of coffee and to see the recently opened pub. The lovely open fire was unlit and there was no atmosphere. For an old pub the decor was not suited to this lovely village pub. Another couple came in and asked for mulled wine, however the pub had none! So December, no fire lit, no mulled wine and staff that were not very engaging. We looked at the food menu and we felt over priced. I’m not surprised it’s closed. Hopefully it will re-open soon with someone with a better strategy.

A really good roast dinner on Mother's Day. However the people who started running the place at the end of last year have signally failed to engage with the local community. It's no good opening the doors and sitting there hoping for the best. Suggestions have simply been ignored. Abject failure. Please, please, can we have someone to run this pub as a proper hub within the community!

Went to the Queens Head for a change (it's not our local) and had their Sunday Lunch....wow, it was fab. Meat was cooked so well it fell apart and plenty of it. Staff amiable and good service. We were disappointed, for them, that there weren't as many people there as we'd expected for Mothers Day as I'd like the pub to do well, so it would be nice if more locals could frequent it...you know the saying: if you don't use it, you lose it and it would be a pity if this pub closed yet again.

A welcome return for this village pub and Sunday Lunch certainly lived up to the recommendations we have recieved. Generous portions of perfectly cooked Roast Sirloin and the Queens Feast, a selection of the various choices on offer, with delicious roasted vegetables and Kale topped with an enormous crispy Yorkshire and served with a side of cauliflower cheese made for a Sunday lunch that would have been hard to beat. Can certainly recommend.

Direct access from the car park is closed. One has to detour to a side door through the pub to reach the restaurant. Menu restricted to six items, with great attention to presentation. Active serving staff was embodied by one Maitre'd who was runoff his feet and was the only member of staff who appeared to value the customers. The pub was closed on Saturday lunchtime without warning or website mention.

Not impressed to be honest. Not much has improved or changed in there after its reopening imo. Only had the burger and chips at £16 for lunch as everything else was off the menu! Poor burger patty, dry and I reckon just frozen. Bar service was bad on our visit too. Stood waiting for ages to get served, even though it was quiet, while the bar maid spent more time gassing to other customers she clearly knew. It was only after a while a young girl sitting at the bar clearly saw us being ignored, that she thought she'd serve us. Perhaps we were just unlucky on the day we chose to go in after Xmas. First impressions though weren't good and I'm not sure I'd rush back.

Over the past few months my family and I have enjoyed numerous wonderful meals here. The kids always love going to the Queens Head and my oldest insists that they have the best brownies in the whole world! Our top pics on the menu are the burgers and the Pizza's (Pear, Gorgonzola and Walnut is the best!) Steff does a great job of putting on wonderful specials, offering local produce where possible and putting intersting specials on the menu on a regular basis. There is always something new and tasty on the menu. I adore the Haloumi fries! Steff's Thursday and Sunday specials meal specials mean a whole family can eat out for arouond £25! An absolute bargain!I cannot fault the staff who have made an enormous effort to manage service during these strange times and with all the additional measures they are required to take. Having checked on the website, we went for lunch and were very disapointed to find that, not only was the available menu drastically reduced, but all orders had to be placed at the bar and taken to table by the customer. The management told us that they did not have full control over the website and regretted the misinformation. However as all information onn the website was pre Covid 19 our expectations were unreasonably high. Our experience was such that we complained vigourously and, in fairness , they refused to charge us for the meal. However It wil be a long time before I put put myself in a position to review this establishment again.

We came up for Sunday lunch. Never been before but were impressed by the website and we are always looking for somewhere different, so went for it. Two of the four drinks we ordered were sadly not available. The young staff waiting tables were friendly but didn’t seem over knowledgable. We had to ask for menus about 20 minutes after arriving. It didn’t appear to be over busy. Found the place quite charming but the alcove with tiled floor by the window over looking the garden was very draughty and chilly despite the radiator being on. Our food was delivered to our table after having been there for about an hour. There was no indication that that it would take so long when we ordered it but it was worth the wait. The food was excellent. We did have to call a waitress for a second drink, the desserts were delivered in good time and were delicious. The vegan menu was one of the reasons for going to the queens head and it did not disappoint. (There are still quit a few cobwebs in this corner of the establishment). On the whole a pleasant lazy Sunday afternoon. Would we come back? Maybe on a lazy sunny day when speed of service is of no importance and the weather is warmer. Not sure if we would have left a tip and when we saw the service charge included on the bill we felt that 10% was a bit cheeky especially as the the bill also had the option go for a gratuity. I am afraid we declined that option. Not running the place down just trying to be constructive. Thank you.

I booked the Queen's Head for another family reunion and slightly had my heart in my mouth because the previous visit hadn't been up to scratch, but there were good reasons for that so I didn't review it. This time however, they really pulled out all the stops and gave us all an excellent Christmas lunch. There were 10 of us and we had all pre-ordered. We were all impressed that the 3 course meal had not increased in price since last year but the quality of the food had moved on immeasurably. The starters were all lovely - and generous and the main meals were all cooked and served with real style. The puds were also top-notch. Very well done to Steph and her team for givning us all a very, very happy experience at The Queen's Head. Long may you continue to thrive. We'll be back soon I hope.

Visited Saturday lunchtime. Tempted by recent reviews, I chose the Mediterranean fish stew which was very good with a good mixture of fish, prawns, mussels, calamari together with butter beans and olives all mixed together in a tasty tomato based sauce. My partner was not so enamoured with her crispy fried pork with rice - which she found rather tasteless and not at all crispy. The pavlova was good but quite rich - perhaps not a bad dish to share between two?

This is a great local pub with events on during the week and excellent food at a good price. This pub has fairly new owners and is well looked after, clean and with a lovely fire. We and a few friends have been their several times recently and never been disappointed - the menu is varied and interesting and I would particularly recommend the lemon tart.

This pub is in the hands of a new land lady yet again. We thought we would go & support it as it is our local. However a few things need to change before we return.

Had a great Burns Night dinner at the Queens Head. The chef did a great job as the haggis was great, starters were good but the traditional dessert was not for me, but everything else was good. Most of the staff threw themselves in to the evening

The food was ok, not amazing by any standards. The place was not very busy & the restaurant was almost empty. Several things not available. Staff very attentive but there was not much else for them to do

Our group use this regularly as our main venue, but we were bitterly disappointed last night. The room allocated to us was cold and the Christmas turkey dinner cold too. The staff tried to compensate with free wine( admitting their mistake) but unfortunately people left early and revenue in more drinks lost. Such a pity as food is often good in smaller numbers.

New landlady’s a gem; the staff are friendly, warm and inviting; food delicious – shortcrust chicken and leek pie was delicious with smooth mash and fresh well-cooked veggies – yum - recommended

Went in for a drink. Children sitting on bar chairs by the bar. This should be for adults. Manager not available. Bar staff going outside front door and smoking, front door wide open and cigarette smoke wafting inside. Not good. Service very slow and lacking. Believe owners have taken there eyes off the pub. Shame. Loud mouths go in there in the evening and take over. What started off as wonderful is now on a huge decline.

Have just returned from a most enjoyable lunch here. The food and service were excellent, as was the atmosphere in this lovely pub. Will certainly be returning.

Food so bad it was returned. First time I have ever done this, in a pub ever. That says all you need to know. Starter was the sweetest sickliest onion soup I have ever had....I think chef got the salt and sugar mixed up, I can think of no other reason. The main of tempura sweet and sour pork was just inedible, i reckon this could have been straight out of the Iceland ready meals section if it wasn’t so bad. I don’t know how this is on the menu, the lady server offered to return it which seemed like a regular thing she was that non plussed about it. Awful meal.

Went to the Crown Inn for a family meal. It was Saturday evening but not too busy. All five of us enjoyed our food, especially three of us that had the Sussex Smokie. The other dishes, as well as the starters were also excellent. The Inn has a traditional country pub atmosphere and the service was good.

Oh Dear! What has happened here? Went with a group of friends for Lunch which we had done earlier in the year when we had a superb meal . The menu was imaginative, food well cooked and presented and we were expecting a similar experience BUT the menu now presented was a great disappointment. No starters on offer , a very basic menu with little choice of dishes requiring no skill to produce . Three specials which were not special-more basics . What we had was OK and the service was pleasant and helpful but we will not return unless a more interesting menu does. The choice in Henfield is becoming more and more limited.

We ordered breakfast at out table and it was delivered quickly with every detail perfectly executed. The food was hot and fresh and really tasty. The drinks were also perfect. I paid what I thought was a fair price and will definitely be returning. You’ll go a long way to find better food in Horsham.
