The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Went for dinner last night. Staff very friendly, good wine list. Steak was well done, chips crisp, but salad accompanying it tiny… fish and chips was great. Now what was not good was the vegetarian options - only one starter and one main, and the risotto was half cooked. The place was not busy, and it was basically just rice, with a few peas. This needs quite a bit of work I suggest. So in summary, good food, but if you are vegetarian go somewhere else I would suggest.

Used to be a great pub. Drank there most nights Shane a barmaid destroyed the atmosphere closes early rude to customers bars locals, destroys relationships. Shame a pub is destroyed by one self centred barmaid that somehow has control over the employers.

Best coffee in town plus great food

After visiting the Stanley Spencer Gallery we wanted a light lunch, in this lovely little village, before our onward journey. It was a lovely day so we decided to sit outside in the pleasant courtyard. The sandwiches we ordered were excellent - not cheap - but worth every penny. Although I had asked for salad not to be included with my choice, it was on the plate when it arrived - a shame because it was then wasted. The only advice I would give is to allow time for the tea to "mash" - my first cup was weak.... the second was much better.

Been here many time before and every time it is better then the last the food is 10/10 drinks are so good seats are really comfortable staff are nice and friendly.

Great customer service and very prompt arrival of meals for our group of 12. Delightfull surroundings. Will definitely return.

Disrespectful cafe. Saturday the 12 of april. Me and my friend went to this cafe and which was rudely disturbed by an unhinged creature similar looking to this dog in the image that I have attached it aslo has drooled all over my friends plate, potentially, but we have a theory that it was one of the staff that done it. While I was distracted the dog snatched my dog and gobble it violently in my face.

The tapas menu was brilliant with a good choice of dishes and fairly priced and the host friendly and attentive- would highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful pub. So cosy and friendly, like how pubs used to be. Such lovely food and brilliant relaxing atmosphere. Open fire and made us feel sooooo welcome. Best pub we've been to in years. Definitely coming back x

Very good little brasserie with great smiling and friendly staff.

I’m extremely fussy with my food and eat regularly at high end restaurants all over London ! This pub has a homely vibe where all the staff go above and beyond to make your visit extra special! A special mention to Evey, Tom, Peter, Mike. Now onto the food we had steak also lamb it doesn’t get 5 star it gets 6 stars if that existed - cooked to absolute perfection & the best steak I’ve had in at least 5 years ! We will back very soon ! This place is must visit and should be an example to all out there of food standard and outstanding staff ! See you soon Merry Crimbo !

Brilliant evening,until the end. Was told by the Staff told to "To Drink up and get the f*** out,we want to go home.( although we still had 20 minutes before we had to leave.When challenged we were told we were being aggressive.And the Police were being called (The two people of colour)Such a shame a Brilliant day ruined by a racist staff,wanting to finish early on New Year's Eve. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE
