Went for Sunday lunch.....according to their Sunday lunch menu on website, roasts available, along with a few pasta dishes. No roasts!!! Very disappointed, mediocre meal, and pudding (cheesecake), poor. Very quiet, hardly surprising. Not what I would call a 'gastro' pub at all.. Shame, we are just up the road, but won't be back, unless this pub can decide what it wants to be

A nice gastropub. Went with some friends for lunch. Plenty of choices on the menu. Good sized portions. A bit disappointed that the pie of the day was unavailable. But what we had was tasty; fish and chips, burger and seafood linguine. Plenty of seating inside. Reasonable beer selection.

We ate here recently whilst on a little break locally. The menu is alright but is pretty pricey, but this is Berkshire. I expect everything local to be expensive. My qualms are that everything was salted to within an inch of its life including the pizza, and I also ordered one pizza and specifically said the kids were going to share it but 2 kids pizzas arrived, so we had lots of pizza to take home with us.

I am gluten free with a nut allergy so choosing where we go for dinner as a family takes some time. My family had heard about this being under new management and they being accommodating for allergies and wanted to give it a try. So before booking I called the restaurant to talk through food options and to make sure I’d be able to eat here safely. I was told in the phone that most of the menu could be made gluten free other than the pizzas, I checked a couple of specific dishes on the phone like the fish and chips, burgers and others dishes served with bread and was given all the right answers to make me feel happy booking there. Unfortunately on arrival this was very quickly revealed to not be the case at all. They don’t stock any gluten free bread, so nothing served with bread was an option including the burgers. They didn’t know what was being put in the burger mix so I couldn’t even have one without the bun. My options had gone from most of the menu to 3 starters, steak or some of the pastas. Unfortunately there was very little trust from management to kitchen and though I appreciated his honesty being told the chefs sometimes say something is gluten free but then cook it in the same oil as everything making it no longer gluten free filled me with dread. At this point had I have gone on my own, I would have left! But I was with my family and we had booked it to celebrate 3 birthdays. After picking my dinner from the very limited options I didn’t have a starter, my main a chicken dish, was okay, but the Parma ham on it wasn’t very nice, and actually the nicest part of my dinner was the roast carrots. My mums salad arrived and was the size you would expect of a starter so she asked if she could get some sweet potato fries to accompany this, my dad fish and chips was pouring with grease and my sister in laws pizza was anemic looking. By this point we were all done and ready to leave without even really considering deserts, although I was informed non of them were gluten free. We spoke with the manager after the meal, so I doubt this review will come as a shock, and he apologised about the salad and the fish and chips, but that does not change the fact that actually our entire meal had been booked based on a lie or complete lack or awareness and understanding from who ever answered the phone the day I contacted them in advance. The rest of my family may return to try here again after the new manager has been there a little while and tried to I’m plenty changes, I however won’t be eating here again and would not recommend it for anyone with allergies or intolerances.

Whilst we are all experiencing a strange time in our lives and trying to carry on the best we can I am happy to say that the staff at The Plough & Harrow are going above and beyond to keep things rolling. We visited on Wednesday as the pub Is doing an offer on their pizzas, buy one and get a second pizza for a pound, the pizzas were so good we decided to go back on Sunday for the Sunday Roast which was delicious, I had roast chicken with all the trimmings and the better half had the roast beef which he actually complemented the chef on as he thought it was that tasty. Totally recommend a Sunday Roast at the Plough & Harrow and the pizza deal is great, good food, friendly staff & a great atmosphere.

Possibly the worst roast dinner I have ever experienced. Tiny portion of Inedible, chewy roast beef, three tiny, overcooked roast potatoes, soggy Yorkshire and a disgusting cheesy sauce. Served on a child size plate and costing £13.95 !!!We chose a bottle of wine from the wine list and an entirely different one was served, with no apology or explanation. When I queried this we were told that it was the only one available. This was also dreadful. When I said all of this to the person serving, she came back with the offer of a free dessert. Alarm bells should have rung when we realised that we were the only people eating. Such a shame as the pub itself is lovely. But, sadly we won’t be returning there to eat.

We came for a drink at this pub for Xmas eve with some friends and family. the landlords wife swore at my 5 year old daughter as she was in the way of the staff door. Normally I would apologise for this as my daughter should not have been in the way. But after hearing the lady swear at my daughter and her being in tears, I ask to speak to the lady. She put her hand up at me and said “I’m far too busy” I was very shocked at her response but I though it Xmas eve I will just leave it! so 10 minutes later my 9 year old daughter came up to make and said the lady with the pink hair (landloards wife again) just swore at her! My children were being quiet and in no way doing anything wrong. I was so upset about this, as I don’t even swear at my children so a staff member working behind a bar has no right. After this I spoke to the landlords and we left straight away. We will NEVER be going back to this pub with it’s current VERY rude staff who happen to be the landlords wife!!!!!! No one in any job has the right to swear at a 5 and 9 year old!!! They would be sacked!! This pub does not welcome children, only DOG’s. They need to make this more clear so family’s with young children don’t experience what we did! On Xmas eve too! DO NOT TAKE YOUNGE CHILDREN TO THIS PUB!

The pub had very friendly and helpful staff and although the pub was surprisingly quiet as it was a Saturday and a lovely sunny day, those people who were in the pub were a welcoming. We ordered food and although there were a few choices not available, however the fish and chips was excellent, unfortunately the pizza was a bit under cooked, probably due to the base being a bit too thick. Tried the Plough and Harrow last week for the first time and will definitely be going back. It has the feel of a local pub rather than the formulaic chains the we have so many of in Bracknell. We had one each of the pies - both excellent- plenty of tender meat, good selection of options for chips / mash/ salad etc. We shared the bread and butter pudding for dessert. - also excellent although far too large for 1 person. Cost was very reasonable (especially with the tastecard discount) and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only slight negative was that there weren’t more people there - hopefully a few will see this review and rectify that!

Just visited this pub for Sunday lunch and I must say I am disappointed! Not by the quality of food, although one main course was cold and had to be sent back, but by the service. Yes the staff are welcoming and friendly but the attention we received was practically non existent. We had to wait for a considerable amount of time to have our mains cleared, no follow up during the meal to check that everything was ok. No further drinks offered. The dessert board was dumped on our table and we had to ask for our order to be taken rather than the waitress coming back to ask what we would like. And the waitress was chewing gum!!! Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I work in this industry and the service standards here are not good.

The pub, both inside and out is extremely well presented and spotlessly clean. All of the team, were naturally extremely friendly and made us very welcome. Definately no false smiles here, everyone was jolly and friendly. Great selection of ales, lagers and wines. Unfortunately, by the time that we got there, the only Sunday roasts left were Chicken and Roast Pork. My mum had her usual chicken and my partner and I settled for the pork. The portion sizes were more than generous with a huge selection of vegetables. The roast potatoes were absolutely delicious, well all of the meals were! The pork was yummy and so was the chicken. My mum is not a big eater so we managed to whip some of her chicken. Served with sauces and a jug of extra gravy, which was great as we all loved the gravy. The pub is also dog friendly, which on this occasion, we did not take ours, but know for the future which is an even added bonus, coupled with the fact that it is only 25 minutes drive away!! Only one downside, the chef is a bit dodgy only joking Nigel, once again, you did yourself and everyone at the pub proud. Will definately be back. Pleasantly surprised by the good food and friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced. Found this pub by mistake and glad that we did. We will certainly return when in the area again.

We stumbled across this pub as a group to do a pub quiz and what a find it was! Amazing pub landlord who cant do enough for you. Food is beautiful and we now as a group go weekly for the pub quiz on Monday nights, we just love it here. It is now my new local, anywhere we need to meet for anything we go here. Lovely, cant recommend enough.

If you want a good family pub that serves lovely food and good beer then try this place ,staff are very friendly and you can eat in or out side , for dinner we had a trio of mixed starters which was very tasty and then burgers and to Finnish then a very good pudding which a lot of pubs don't do , most people like a traditional pudding ,pies ,crumble ,spotted dick , you get the idea , I will always go back for that , if you like real ale come here

We go here regularly for the quiz night. A very popular pub with an even more popular landlord.. Beware though this is not a pub for the feint-hearted. The quiz nights can be quite raucous so don't go there if you are easily offended. I personally think he's hysterical. Basic pub food at reasonable prices.

As the title says, this pub likes its gin and offers at least 14 different ones. Not that big a place, modern looking from the outside, but walking through the door it's like stepping back in time 20 years. Not particularly welcoming, but guess it's different for locals. Big board outside offering Sunday lunch from £11.95 which seems a bit steep even for this area. On the positive it does have plenty of parking spaces.

Nice village pub. No complaints with the lunchtime sandwiches (proper doorstep slices) and chunky chips or the beer. Small secluded garden - dogs welcome!

Called in on the way home from a day out at about 7pm Saturday evening. Got a table, and checked large blackboard that confirmed food served 12-9pm. Husband ordered drinks then asked for menu. "No food" was the reply. When we referred to the notice, the landlord? said "we are serving food, but only to 12 guests." Now I had a drink and no food. Tired, cross and disappointed, my husband drank up both drinks and we moved on. Check at the bar not on the display boards before you order drinks if you want to eat, or book in advance.

First visit, service was quick, efficient and friendly. It looks like the place has been redecorated recently and it was clean and well kept. We all had a Sunday roast which I think was £12.50 each. Food service was quick and it was just the right amount on the plate although some greenery would have been nice. Menu choice was sufficient and considering the location the price was good. Will return.

The staff are brilliant - always welcoming - both landlord Clive, Jackie, and chef and everyone else. The Sunday roasts are the best in the area (great selection of fresh vegetables, extra gravy on the side) but the weekday menu is also really good and has a good choice of homemade, pub food . Five stars all the way and would definitely recommend.

Decent food, good atmosphere and beers but overall a little pricy…We just popped in here for a midweek catch-up with a mate, it’s local to him, the place was far busier than on previous visits as an anniversary celebration going on.No problem with a table or service at the bar or table though.Menu is quite wide, albeit a bit pricier than pubs we’re used to, you can order at the table or bar and they’ll run a tab with no fuss.I had the fish and chips which comes served in an enamel baking dish which is a little weird.Service to our table was pretty quick after ordering despite the busy evening.Fish was tasty and batter crunchy, accompanied sufficient chips and peas.Decent pint of Abbot Ale to wash it down too so all good. We’ll be back.

What a fantastic pub this is. A real old fashioned family pub...friendly, warm, great food and beer. I was amazed to find they put on interesting talks, we visited for some dinner and got to listen to a great wildlife photographer called Tom Way. He was extremely engaging and showed truly memsmorising pictures. An innovative move by this leading local pub. If you haven't visited then you're missing out.

Loved it here on NYE!The tickets were £20pp but if you pre booked them it was only £15pp then take your drink off plus the firework display your looking at less than £10 pp which is very cheap for New Year's Eve.This pub is a small cosy pub and with any common sense you would know you can't get a whole casino in there! So not quite sure what some people were expecting. The night was great there was a brilliant atmosphere and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Food was brought out and yes it did go quick but later in the evening more food was brought out We were then given a firework display at midnight organised by the landlord which were fab. Personally, we couldn't fault the night. At the end of the day it's what you make it. Thanks Clive & Beth you did a fab job!

What a shambles their New Year's Eve event was! Group of 10 all paying £20 each for a ticket which was described as a casino night with a free drink and a buffet. Arrived at 8.30pm as detailed on our tickets and was offered our free drink which was apart of our ticket price. Very small pub, but comfortable. There were 2 casino tables which was not what I would really class as a "casino night"! Buffet food came out on a large table around 9.30pm and guests began queuing straight away, as a group we thought we would wait until the ques died down as we expected that there would be plenty of food and that it would be replenished. Ques went so we went over to the table to get something to eat and as you may of guessed no food! Politely asked when more would be coming out but was told by the owners "that was it" and that there would be no more! Owners didn't seem too bothered even though lots of paying guests had not eaten! Ended up extremely disappointed and calling a cab to take us to the peacock farm in Bracknell which in all honesty was a much better atmosphere and better evening! Clearly this establishment should never do a New Years evening again unless people believe it is worth it to pay £20 just for a drink! Such a let down!

I visited the Plough and Harrow tonight as a rather unorganised evening out with a friend. We managed to find a table, and I have to say the food was great. I had pulled pork and chips which was delicious, and my friend had fish and chips - very generous portion of fish. The pub itself seemed very friendly, with quite a few people with dogs, and is apparently very dog friendly

As my Husband was out for the evening and we had no hot water or heating I decided the best course of action was go out! I took our Dog who often accompanies us to this very dog friendly pub and as ever I was made to feel comfortable and welcome. Lovely Christmassy atmosphere, good food (especially the fish) and not too expensive. An excellent place for dog owners

Place was clean and very welcoming. Booked for my sons birthday he's 9. Paul was especially fantastic, great teacher and very patient with the young ones learning. He was calm in situations and made sure the boys knew what they were doing to keep them safe. Thank you so much Paul (Bob) for the awesome time the boys absolutely loved the experience and can't wait to come back. Paul is a great asset to your team and should be awarded for his professionalism.

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a little village. We booked for lunch , the restaurant had two areas one large by the bar and entrance with a smaller area to side. We were sat near the kitchen door, service was slow as only one person was taking the orders and the restaurant was busy. The menu and food were disappointing and over priced. The arricini was ok ,Fish and chips were greasy, the chips were frozen and not cooked properly. The burger was raw inside ( we assumed they would ask if we wanted rare) . The sea bass was ok though it went back as I had asked for the sauce to be on the side. We had to ask for cutlery. The staff cleared the table while I was still eating and talking . Overall this was a disappointing visit with overpriced food , poor service. It’s not a place I shall be returning to.

Restaurant smells old. Service was really slow. Food was bad, but we were so tired it was eat or go hungry before sleeping in the Premier Inn. Car Park had many signs warning of Car Thieves Operate in this Area and Police Hotspot etc, I was genuinely a little nervous parking my car there.

We were all soooo looking forward to our once a year Christmas meet up, for a nice Christmas dinner and good company. Company fantastic, meal very, very disappointing, starter great, main meal hard, burnt, tasteless, food swimming in gravy, believe all the meals dished up on plates and left in the oven or under a grill, how a chef can allow this type of food to leave his/her kitchen is not good, we will not be going back and would not recommend
