Nice to see this pub reopen with a local family now running it. Great atmosphere, food very fresh and thoroughly enjoyable and good selection of local beers and wines. Also easy on the wallet when compared to other local establishments who seem to think everyone is a billionaire with the prices they charge. Will be back, very soon.

Because the pub where we were due to meet had closed its kitchen, we asked advice from a local, and found the Cricketers. Lovely old pub, lovely situation, but it was the staff who made it perfect. So helpful, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, even bar staff getting her phone out to find the best way home (we were now ten miles from where we'd started!) Newish landlord and staff, an expanding menu, perfect summer pub. We will be back.

Met friends here for lunch, we had never been before. We found a parking place right outside. This is a real county pub and has a nice atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Menus are on boards and are standard pub fare, with standard pub prices. We had the scotch egg, spring rolls and scampi to start, they had run out of asparagus. We then had ham egg n chips and haddock for our mains. All good, good service if a little slow, good pint of Harveys beer and a nice wine selection. They also had an open fire that was quite Smokey and our clothes really smelt of smoke! Worth a visit if you have not been

What a great location right opposite the cricket green in a quintessential English village. I should have realised when it was empty that something was amiss. The prawn salad was okay, the roast beef was dreadful hardly able to cut it as really tough. The puddings were something else, the peach melba eton mess was just a mess. 1 sliced peach on top of a plate ful of over whipped cream with a couple of tiny shards of meringue. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

One of our group waited 45 minutes for her dinner and we had all finished. Food itself was unimaginative and served without any finesse or trimmings. Hardly anything green in sight. Ordered children's icecreams for pudding and was surprised at the miniscule portions served in a small coffee cup without any additions. Would have stretched to pay £2 for these, they cost £6 each. Vastly overpriced. Went with our 81 year old mum having been reassured that there was a space heater only to be told it was broken. We ended up wrapping her in as many coats and jumpers we could find. Really not worth the money....or the wait.

The food was extremely disappointing! It looked like something from 1976 . Not a single healthy dish on the menu . Preparation and presentation were unbelievably poor . Sausage and mash swimming in watery gravy with a side dish of awful looking vegetables. And 2 half microwaved jacket potatoes with beans and cheese with a soggy piece of lettuce . The chips that were served with a bacon sandwich were dry and overcooked . The chef was outside the pub smoking . Not a good look . In this market you would think thAt a huge effort would be made to draw the customers in. I can honestly say that was the worst meal I have had in a pub .

I was sitting at the bar in this large, nicely unspoilt pub, when I noticed something unusual on a nearby horizontal overhead beam. Eventually I realised it was what had once been an assortment of postage stamps from a variety of countries, affixed to the beam in a random way, and covered over with a coat or coats of varnish, in the method known as decoupage. Sadly, the designs of most of the stamps could no longer be seen, just their shape, but a few were still visible. This was a decorative feature that I had never seen in a pub before, although a few pubs have displays of banknotes that their customers have brought back from overseas or sent back from abroad.I like the Cricketers Arms for its unspoilt character and the way that its various areas flow into each other, so that you get glimpses of them all as you sit at the bar. It was good to find it open in the afternoon. Its location, set well back from the main road, overlooking the green, makes sitting at outside tables very pleasant. (No cricket was being played on the green today!)I did not eat, so I cannot comment on the food. The barmaid was very pleasant and friendly. The music, from a radio station, was not too loud.

We went on a day where there was a function, but decided to wait because we were told food would be served half an hour later. Very disappointing. We both had burgers one meat, one halloumi. The meat burger had a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato in the bun, the halloumi burger had nothing. There were a few warm chips but no garnish which basically made the meal look uninteresting. I could quite easily have prepared better at home. I accept there was a function, however looking at previous reviews I would suggest the kitchen couldn't cope but we still paid the regular price for a boring un-inspiring meal.

Visited at lunchtime, staff were very friendly. We ordered sandwiches which at £8,00 we assumed would be made with thick slices of freshly cut bread generous tasty filling, far from it. When our order eventually arrived the bread was thinly sliced from a packet, the filling was measly with a tiny side salad and no crisps or chips. I make better sandwiches at home! We have always enjoyed the Cricketers, an honest village pub with a friendly feel, welcoming staff and dog friendly. Popped in for lunch but felt that the food has become rather average. My wife had a very reasonable mushroom soup, but this was let down by rather uninspiring sliced bread (when such a great selection of fresh bake breads are be available). I had fish & chips with mushy peas... disappointingly this turned out to be ‘tail end of fish in batter’, the piece of the fish fillet where all of the ‘depth’ of the fillet has been lost and the remaining thin slice was literally a quarter of the depth of the surrounding batter. Cheap ingredients let down what promised to be a very nice lunch. Personal bug bear.... ketchup in individual sachets... in these days of non recyclable waste, this is terrible, particularly when the tartar sauce was delivered in a small ramekin.

We went to TheCricketers Arms with our daughter and3 children, aged from 9 to 15 years. The children's menu was very sparse and although they advertised spaghetti with melted parmesan cheese it was actually pasta pieces and the cheese was very strongly flavoured.- perhaps too heavy for a childrens' meal - luckily there was garlic bread with it.It was Sunday evening but even so to have run out of crumble and custard and creme brulee reduced the dessert menu considerably. I must add they made the children very welcome and in the picture you can see the tables are well away from the bar.

We had gone for a walk in the surrounding area and fancied a nice pub lunch. With the option of the 3 Crowns or the Cricketers in Wisborough Green, we opted for the latter. The pub itself is charming with a nice log fire and a warm welcome. The food however was not up to scratch. We both chose the burgers (chicken & veggie) and for £11.50 each you would expected more than just a basic burger, a bit of lettuce and chips. Yes, there is plenty of it but it is not very inspiring and we both walked away disappointed. A nice pub for a pint after a long walk but the food did not match the atmosphere.

We had a very pleasant evening in the Cricketers, Food was tasty, home made and hot. Good Tomato soup and my Pork belly well cooked and tasty.Service was quick polite and prompt, which lets face it it, is often the thing that makes a first impression. Prices are reasonable compared to other places to eat in the village and offer very fair value for money. The down sides, well there are always some. The seating is always a little cramped, its a small pub I know! But we were by a door and it was just a little "busy" when staff were serving. The other grip if you can call it that, is you have to go to the bar to get your drinks, small thing, but you are away from the table and your guests for longer than comfortable if the bar is busy. An important improvement suggestion would be that waiting staff proactively offer to serve drink at the table, so you get to spend time sitting down with your guests and meal. They may do this? but in our case no one offered. That said I would definitely use The Cricketers again, for all the above stated good points.

I've visited three times over the last few months but simply for a drink so am unable to comment on the food. It's a pleasant little pub on the village green and on my last visit the open fire was lit.On my first visit no smile nor welcome from staff. I thought the lady behind the bar was having an "off" day but, no, it's been the same each time. How nice it would be to feel welcomed on arrival by staff as well as the warm interior and lovely open fire.

Lovely meal, great service. Would recommend highly! Beautiful old country Pub, lovely surroundings. Had a lovely burger with bacon, requested no egg and was no problem. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Look forward to next visit.

We arrived just before they stopped serving food. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had the Cricks burger and it was the best burger I've ever had, it came with bacon and egg - really full of flavour. A really nice traditional pub set overlooking the village green. We'll be back!

Passing on the way home crosscountry we needed a lunch break. Luckily we found this charming pub. The atmosphere and service was spot on. The food great and good sized portions. We started with Whitebait and Avocadoe and Stilton, both delicious. The my wife had fish and chips ,the chips were crisp and good portion. I had liver and bacon , good helping and well cooked.Pity we live far away but wish it was nearby, we love it as our local.

This is a lovely old, characterful, country pub, that has great menu and beautifully cooked fresh food. The service was lovely and friendly, and flexible ('you want custard and ice cream, of course!'). It sits in a perfect setting on the beautiful Wisborough Green, but set back from the main road, so sitting outside is also a joy.

Very good roast lamb and roast vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Service not too long. Didn't have a sweet as too full! Their steak and kidney pies are very good but if you want one it is better to ring and ask if they are on the menu as they go pretty quickly. My husband is very fond of meat pies and he rates them A1.

Avondeten start om 18:30 niet eerder. Bediening is aller aardigst. Eten is fantastisch. We hebben rib-eye gegeten met pepersaus met er bovenop gebakken uien op een bedje van hele champions en friet en vooraf brood met kaas en oliesaus ( leek wat op pizzabrood) was heerlijk. Aanrader!!

This visit turned out to be a poor day. Not a very extensive or interesting menu, and as my wife has a lactose intolerance there were three items on the already small choice of menu that she could not eat. What we eventually had was good but it took too long to arrive considering that the place was almost empty. We will be back because it wasn't awful but on this occasion it seemed to be on another downward spiral, hopefully it will pick up again.

Visited here after a disappointing experience down the road. Had Sunday roast of beef, proper roasted potatoes and amazing gravy. All for good price and served by friendly hard working staff. Highly recommended

Afternoon chips and beer, very busy, parking can be tight, area to side, hard to see, small area adjacent to front entrance where a small terrace of tables are located, chips with diesel! Chips and cider were excellent The inside is quirky, well laid out with a lot of local history posted on the walls.

Popped in for lunch following a walk to the Halnaker Windmill. Managed to get the last table available. I had the "lunchtime" size fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas and my partner had the gammon, egg and chips. Both were very good. The "lunchtime" size fish and chips was a perfect size. My partner then had the crumble and ice cream and I had a mini version with custard and a flat white coffee. All very good too. Friendly staff and a great menu. A good selection of alcohol free beers. Definitely one to visit again when in the area, would book in advance.

Very disappointed in my Scrambled egg on brown toast, the egg had no taste very pale done in the microwave, and water on my plate made my barely toasted toast wet and soggy. Great pleasant staff. Service good but unfortunately the breakfast was horrible.

We often visit this Greggs whilst shopping in Chichester as their sausage rolls are the best. As I don’t drink dairy milk, in the past I’ve always had soya in little cartons. My husband asked for oat milk (my favourite) and to my pleasant surprise Greggs now offer oat milk as an alternative. So my order was for an Americano with oat milk on the side. My husband also mentioned “on the side”. This is because I don’t take much so need to add it myself. So when the lady served an Americano with oat included (frothed up, yuk) (Since when does an Americano have warm frother milk in it?) I said, no I ordered oat milk on the side. Stroppy cow said she didn’t hear that (we said it twice) and that anyway they don’t serve oat milk on the side. So I’ve paid for a coffee that I can’t drink as it’s too milky. I really expected her to say “sorry madam, let me do another one for you”. I mean, for the sake of customer satisfaction, just pour it away and serve me what I’ve asked for! Is it too much to ask to have oat milk on the side? This is a first for us. Every other coffee establishment we visit serves it cold, and on the side when asked. She has no customer skills at all. A right stroppy cow. We were disgusted.

We popped in without a reservation on a Saturday lunchtime and luckily they had a table for us. The pub was buzzing with happy people, clearly lots of locals too which is always a good sign. We had three courses - hadn’t planned to but the food was just soooo good! The prawn cocktail was the best we’ve ever had, and mains were delicious. OH had sea bass and I had lambs liver. Both served piping hot and with fresh veg. One of my main beefs is when food isn’t hot enough. Not so here, well done Berkeley Arms. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for too. We live 20 mins away but we’ll most definitely be back!
