Very good meal and excellent, friendly service. Thank you. Nothing was too much trouble for our charming waitress and all was good.

A friend and I booked a table for dinner. The food was lovely (although overpriced for chicken and rice £20:95). The service was good until the end when we were rushed to pay. They brought the bill without asking if we wasted coffee and then came straight back with the card machine asking if we wanted to pay half and half even though we hadn’t even looked at the bill or said smithing. Then another 2 waitresses came over again asking for payment. It was fairly busy but tables around us free so they didn’t need our table immediately.. Not a nice end to a pleasant evening.

Good food, good choice on the menu and quickly served. Great staff who go to great lengths to make you feel valued. Highly recommended

We took our grandsons after a day out for an early supper. When we arrived we walked through into the restaurant area and stood and waited for a few minutes while the waitress totally ignored us and carried on a long conversation with a table who had finished. Finally she came over and said we could sit anywhere and went back over to table to continue her conversation. I then located the menus as the boys were hungry. When we eventually ordered the food with very little assistance it came and was fine but the service was so bad and unprofessional I doubt we will go back.

Never been here before but will definitely come again.. absolutely amazing food.. and so much.. such good value.. liver and onions and mushroom and cheese omelette 1st class..

I just wanted to say that the new management are so lovely and friendly. We popped in for some lunch today totally unaware that it had changed hands. But, the staff were so nice and the food was amazing! Portion sizes are fantastic and taste amazing. Service was quick and place was spotlessly clean too. If you were put off by the previous owners and thier increasing prices and decreasing portions then you will be pleasantly surprised. Give it go. If you want good food that’s kind to your wallet, I’d look somewhere else! Foods alright but not worth the price they charge for! Watch out as every time I’ve gone they’ve overcharged and tried to con me any way they can, charging for extra milk and and additional £1.50 for a seemingly straight swap of cheese from bacon - £7.70 for some salad and a sprinkling of cheese on thin shop-bought brown is daylight robbery!

Popped in for something to eat and drink, very busy seemed to be short staffed as couldn't keep up with demand of people coming in especially when the heavens opened. No soft drinks available which was a bit disappointing though hot drinks were nice and well presented. Food ok though had to ask for cutlery as what we ordered couldn't use our fingers.

One of the few cafes in Hythe that are modern and comfortable. Soft dinner style seats and nice interior design. Food is on the expensive side, but the chocolate bar milkshakes are a specially yummy treat!

Coffee was good and staff attentive. Food was nothing special however the eggs benedict seemed a popular choice as I was leaving. I had a full English but for the first time in all of my regular visits to cafe throughout the country this does not come with toast or bread and butter. My understanding of full is apparently incorrect. Toilets were clean as was the restaurant. Our table did have a film on it from the cleaning products but was essentially clean.

Very good food! Chips were gorgeous! I also had the eggs Benedict which was great and the milkshakes got a thumbs up from my 2 children, my mum and myself. Waiting staff are lovely and attentive would definitely go back

We had veggie cooked breakfast and pancakes. Both were excellent. Crisp hash browns and the pancakes had plenty of maple syrup. I look forward to going back again.

The waitresses are always friendly and helpful, coffee are lovely and the food Is always delicious and cooked perfectly. We had sausage and egg muffins with chips (which are never greasy). A great place to stop for a bite to eat , always popular and I know why.

Avoid. A full English breakfast doesn’t even include toast!!! My daughters veggie breakfast was charged at £12 with one sausage. A glass of orange juice, a mouthful literally with the ice is £3.40!! London do not even charge these prices. They do not allow you to swap items, not told this at the time but charged for extras when not extras!

Had breakfast here both mornings on a two night stay in Hythe. Great breakfast menu with a good choice. Excellent coffee. Lovely friendly and hard-working staff. Cafe seating is comfy velour benches and the atmosphere has a nice vibe. Several cafés in Hythe High Street, but this felt the most welcoming, and we weren't disappointed. Highly recommended.

The whole place has been redecorated and now is not as appealing to children and families. The prices have increased significantly. The decoration is very good, very plush. Not as enjoyable as before, shame.

Went for lunch and was overcharged. Meal was £7.90 and got charged £8.30. Won’t go there again. Was over priced before. Didn’t look very appetising and love looked like it was chucked on the plate. Never again.

Come here yesterday for a lunch for 2, ordered a cheese and ham toastie and a bacon and sausage sandwich with a latte and a large tea all come to a reasonable £13, the food was hot and tasted lovely and didnt wait for ages...

Popped in for couple sandwiches cups tea. Service great .resturant lovely and clean,tables spaced out. Had sausage egg sandwich perfect 2 sausages And I had egg bacon sandwich only disappointment it only had1 small slice of bacon Love my bacon !!

The meal was delicious 😋. Mixed doner, chicken shish and an amazing Greek salad - it was huge. The presentation was almost as good as in the restaurant! Ordered through Just Eat and it arrived 15 mins early. Excellent service in these circumstances.

Went with my friend to the Sunshine Cafe for the set menu at lunchtime. The food is delicious especially the homemade hummus. They also make cocktails which are so good. Highly recommend.

My sister and I popped here last week for lunch on our visit to Hythe, service was fairly quick for a very busy cafe, we had chilli con carne which was delicious followed by choc cake and cream. Whilst it is too busy and tables too close for our liking, it was still a very enjoyable experience and we will come back again.

Had a swift lunch, no overly generous helpings to say the least and not best value for money either. A Latte coffee took ages to arrive and milk shake was served in a jam jar.

I have been coming to sunshine cafe for a while now. And I have always loved the food and the coffee very much. However. Of late this place has really lost its touch and respect for the customer and just no customer service. Now I have worked in customer service for about 5 years now. And I’am a barista myself. So for me I notice these things as a customer myself. The coffee it self has always been amazing. However currently it’s not. No effort at all is being put into making coffee right and it’s not consistent anymore. Also. The staff have no customer service what so ever and are rude and abrupt to the customers. The tall young lady with the blonde hair that was working on the day I came in was especially bad with the way she was carrying herself. Served other customers before us. Then when approached she had a really bad attitude. It’s a shame because this place has always had standards and morals and always feel welcome. But if late. It’s downhill and something needs to happen mainly with the staff. Years of experience has made me know how to be respectful and have great customer service. And sunshine cafe is lacking in that currently. I think staff need to be trained right so they know how to work in this industry

This cafe is my first choice if I want a quick lunch or early evening meal in Hythe. The good range of all day breakfasts will satisfie everyone. The lunch menu is also diverse enough to suit all the family.I have always had a warm welcome and attentive service. If you need something simply press the table pager.I like the ice cream milkshakes and large cups of tea, you can also have a glass of wine or cold beer.One thing that stands out is the cleanliness. The kitchen is compleetly on display so no place to hide and the toilets are spotless too.Even the menus are clean, something that is often overlooked, so why are they dog eared? We asked and were told it was kids, but that was a poor excuse. I have to raise this point because I state it as a pet hate in my bio. See my photos if you thing I am being pedantic.

I had the nicest cheese omelette I had ever tasted with lovely chips and salad. My husband really enjoyed his plaice and chips.The lads who cooked the meals were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely look forward to our next meal at Sunshine cafe.

Nestled in the dwindling high street of Hythe lies the Sunshine Coffee and Restuarant. Very busy, but this should be expected for a Saturday. Massive delay between the drink and getting the food. Small portions and overpriced. Drinks are not included in the kids meals. Reasonably tidy. Only redeeming feature was the great coffee and that it is newly decorated. Will not visit again.

I have been going to Sunshine Cafe every Wednesday during the summer for lunch and I cannot praise the food or the staff highly enough. Food is always great, The Late Breakfast is my favourite. Special thanks to the Manager and Karla the waitress. Keep it up and see you again soon

In the middle of a heatwave this place serves the best iced coffee ever. A huge tankard of ice and coffee mush--absolutely brilliant.

Went here for lunch on arrival in Hythe for the weekend. We're given plenty of time to decide what to eat, and then had to press a button on the table to let the waitress know we were ready. I thought this was a very good idea. Didn't wait very long, (about 8 minutes) before the food came. Very clean looking meal, well cooked and very tasty. Decent cup of tea too. Staff very efficient, and friendly. Place clean and tidy, not too noisy. Toilets good too.

Service with a smile and really good food too. Had a bacon and egg muffin and it was amazing. Perfect stop when your cycling the Coast.

We have been to Sunshines many times. Today I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans. The first thing I notice was the plate size has shrunk. I had barely a spoonful of beans and a little cheese scattered on the top. What a rip off and its not that cheap here. Also I think their childrens meals are a bit expensive for what you get, very little. We did complain when the young lady took our plates and she said she would tell the cook. Nothing was said when we went to pay so we wont be going back. Its a shame the owner wasn't there as we often chat with him and would have told him how we felt. Such a shame as we always liked the place but value for money is a must, one very small spoonful of beans was an insult.

We use the Sunshine cafe quite frequently for breakfast, having often visited the accompanying Sunshine restaurant across the road from the café.

My partner and I are currently working in Hythe for around three weeks. I originally popped in one morning to grab two takeaway coffees and noticed how clean the premises are and how polite the staff were. We went back for lunch and have visited everyday whilst working nearby.

My sister and I decided on lunch here whilst visiting Hythe for the day, we did eat here before. Both of us had chilli con carne and pancakes with cream and golden syrup for afters as well as a coffee . Food was very nice, service quick and efficient. The only criticism was that due to it being so busy, the only vacant table for two was by the window and it was way too small and cramped for our plates, menus and condiments. Tables are placed too near together so it’s not a very private relaxing environment, too many people too close for comfort.

Well this is our second visit and we have nothing but high praise for venue , food and customer service. The tables now have waiter call buttons on them. Love the decor and that you can see through to the kitchen as I’m nosey . We had the set lunch meal which goes through to 4pm wow . Loved every bit of my dinner even though I never eat it all , well not that green leaf stuff. This place is suitable for young , old and in between which I will go in that bracket. Let me start by saying I am currently staying in Hythe, Kent on an extended break from the U.S.(Greater New York Area / Manhattan). I have lost count how Cafe's, Diners, or Restaurants I have eaten in over the years as I do a lot of travel for various reasons (Work / Pleasure). So, I do have a taste for good food, quality, and price on my travels across the U.S & Europe. My friend intoduced me to a number of places for breakfast in Hythe, but I found myself returning to the Sunshine Cafe time and time again. Why? Because I know every time I come here for food the staff are SUPER friendly and literally go out of their way to ensure your experience is to your liking. The staff & waitress's at the Sunshine Cafe always go above and beyond and regularly check back to see how I, and other diners; Are doing. Now living, working, and travelling around America I have come to find this a necessity if I am to return time and time again. Friends from London have come down to see me why I am here and I have taken here for Breakfast, everyone enjoyed and commented how nice the establishment was and how tasty their food was too. So if you are like me, and agree with the things I look for while out eating then I suggest you visit the Sunshine cafe in Hythe. Today it was Sonya who made my experience extremely pleasant, the day before was her co worker / friend. The Management here is certainly in place as I would gladly come here again when I am back in the UK and staying in the area. Enjoy!

Had a lovely late brunch here. Can't understand the previous comments. We found the service good, food excellent, and all 5 of us thought it was real value for money! Particularly impressed with our waitress Sonia who was very pleasant and the hardworking chef who was a pleasure to watch beavering away in kitchen. Thankyou

Everything on menu is money orientated i.e. not worth the money charged. quality poor greasy oily served on stupid bamboo or wooden platter they think it improves the meal they are sadly misguided some of these appeared to be stained.

Absolutely disturbing when I went into the kitchen after complaining about finding a finger in my food, turns out it was an old chip but not the point anyway the guy was wanking into the mayo... can’t condone them actions..

I have had many lovely meals at the Sunshine cafe. I had a breakfast there last week and as usual it was freshly cooked and the service was great. Food quality reliable and friendly and efficient service!

I ordered myself and my younger sister some breakfasts. My sisters food arrived and she enjoyed her food. 20 minutes later I still had not received my food. The waitresses kept walking past and looking over at the table but did not come over to check everything was alright with our food.

Variety of food and drinks on the menu. Nothing fancy..jackets potato’s, salas, burgers, lasagne, fish and chips that kind of food. Lovely food and didn’t have to wait too long for service. We have been here a few times in the last few months and it has always been a good experience. The food is always hot and plenty of it at a good price. They cater for all ages especially kiddies.

Had an amazing fried breakfast , food arrived piping hot perfectly presented. My partner had chicken nugget and chips also arrived hot and the nuggets where great. Had a cinnamon coffee and this is what I was given , not only a great coffee but a work of art ! The servers where very polite and made this visit amazing!! Highly recommend !!!

The café seemed to be the only place open on a dull, cold, rainy Sunday. Waitresses were friendly and helpful. The food is very simple but well cooked and inexpensive. The coffee was very good. Worth a visit for fast food, good service and cheap eats.
