It's a genuine non fancy pub and all the better for it. It's like pubs used to be; a bit tired decor but it makes up with good simple food and a friendly welcome. I actually thought "I wish I were a local" as it's a very genuine place. Ideal to sit and chat. Not for those who want fancy. But if you want a pie and a pint in good company you will struggle to better.

We came in for lunch and so glad we did. We checked that we could bring our dog in and the lovely bar lady said yes, in the bar area which was ok with us. She came over and asked if we wanted water for the pooch and had a couple of treats in her pocket to give to doggo. We didn't have to get up off our bums to order drinks or food either, she took our drinks and food order. Hubby had steak and chips which was perfectly cooked and I had lasagna which was also delicious (empty plates from us,) Portions are generous and everything was freshly cooked and hot. Price wise it was good value for money and if we are in that area again we'll definitely be back.

We went as a walk in for a Sunday roast. Considering it was bank holiday Sunday it was very quiet. The roast beef seemed a bit plasticky. The veg portions were very small. I only realised I had cabbage as it was under a piece of beef. There were 3 very small quarters of roast potatoes and one yorkshire pudding. It wasn't the best. They close Monday's, even bank holiday Mondays.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch after reading the reviews online and the pub didn’t disappoint! We had a lovely warm and friendly greeting followed by 3 amazing roast dinners; one lamb, one beef and one nut roast. All 3 arrived quickly and tasted amazing and the plates were piled high. We were so impressed we used our ‘second stomachs’ to also have a dessert each; a knickerbocker glory and 2 crumbles of the day and these were delicious too! The pub is set among the marshes and has some beautiful walks in a very tranquil setting. We got there at midday and when we left it was very busy which is a testament to how great this little pub is. We will definitely be back when in the area again. Well worth a visit.

I checked the pub timings at the Botolph Bridge Inn which stated open until 2200 last food 2000. I walked from the campsite to the pub with the dog and got there around 2020. When I ordered a drink there were still people in the restaurant side and the girl behind the bar seemed very friendly and I had no issue whatsoever. I sat down at the table and around 2050/55 the group having their meal left and I heard the waitress say they weren't having a desert. They left and within 5 minutes or so the restaurant was clear and all the lights went off on that side. I was about to finish my second pint and was going to ask for another however I said to the girl behind the bar " Are you closing" and she shrugged her shoulders and lifted her hands up and said, "Well Yeah" as though I was stupid and stating the obvious. I let that go and finished off the bit of beer I had left in the glass got the dog and before I left I asked, for future reference, if the bar always closed early and she said well when there's no one in the boss said we can close. I now feel as though I am a no-one. Wow!!. If she had had the common courtesy to say look were going to close soon do you want another drink before we do I would have probably said well no thanks but to say what she did was not acceptable I certainly didn't feel like a valued customer. By the time I had walked out the front door and gone round to the road lights were all off and she was locking the doors. Mass exodus.

The first time we visited here as we were staying just down the road at the Daleacres Motorhome and Caravan site. First impressions were not impressive as the curtains looked creased and unironed, seating didn’t look clean,no condiments on the table. My wife ordered liver and bacon and when that turned up it was swimming in gravey, potato was sloppy (bacon and liver was nice) but still not salt and pepper put on table. I had pie mash and veg,pie meat was tough, pastry disintegrated so was very disappointing as pie is my favourite dinner. Desserts were lovely I have banoffee pie and the wife had pear and apple crumble. Overall disappointing lunch meal as it could have been so much better.

We were staying locally at new beach caravan site and didn’t fancy going to the carvery next door and after asking for a few recommendations we came across Boltophs Bridge inn. We called on the Saturday and was able to get a table booked for Sunday. We ended up arriving ahead of hour before our booked time and were prepared to wait as it was down to us that we arrived early. We were shown to our table and sat and had a drink before ordering our food at 3pm which is when we had booked the table for. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant. My only thing which is personal to me is that I would have preferred crispier roast potatoes but that does not take away from the fact that it was a delicious Sunday roast. The puddings were from the special board and they were lovely too. Would definitely return next time we are in the area

This is a local pub haven’t been here for many years, fancied eating a Sunday roast out so booked a table. When we got there, there was no staff around we was standing at the bar for a good 10 mins before any staff showed up, took us to our table took our order for drinks and then meals. Now all our family love Gravy but our dinners came out swimming in it the the potatoes, Yorkshire, parsnips and burnt stuffing was swimming, they brought out to small dished of veg which was cooked ok and a bowl of cheesy cauliflower and Broccoli. Was not asked if we wanted any condiments, and wished they left the Gravy off and brought out in a Gravy boat. Iv had worse dinners but Iv had better to be honest. We decided to have pudding I had Jam roll poly and custard to take away which was a very heavy sponge, not really any jam in it, my daughters was ok and my grandsons was ok, unfortunately my husbands was awful he asked for a banoffee cheesecake which was nothing of the sort, it was a very small glass bowl with some biscuit in the bottom with a sloppy banana tasting something that hadn’t set with a load of chocolate powder sprinkled on top there was no banana or caramel type toffee that you would normally have as part of banoffee. Yes we should have told them but we didn’t. Maybe it was just an off day for them shame really as we won’t go back just no atmosphere, not a lot of staff or interaction no asking if we wanted any condiments yes we could of asked but shouldn’t have to. I don’t know just disappointed really as had good reports and looking at the pictures at their food they show on the website, was nothing like what we got!!

So disappointed by our visit … I had asked on Fb and my friends somewhere they could recommend to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our family and this came out top and I was so looking g forward to a really lovey meal with our family. Alas this didn’t happen We arrived and waited a while to have our order taken but it’s a Sunday and we were talking so l appreciate you were busy. However the meals were way below standard in our opinion with two being sent back! One was my grandsons who is I must say a professional when it comes to burgers. The beef burger was ordered but a lamb burger arrived. Whilst it was taken back when the waitress returned she actually argued with my daughter over the fact that it was a beef burger with seasoning in it! My daughter had actually tried the burger and went oh that’s lamb! I think most people know the difference between a lamb and beef burger and the one served was defiantly lamb. The other meal to go back was my husbands he had ordered a pork loin … to say the pork loin was overdone was in fact an understatement it was almost impossible to cut it had to be ‘ripped apart and he did try it and said it was so tough he couldn’t chew it. When the meal had been delivered we had to ask for the vegetables for my husbands dinner and also for the cauliflower cheese which was advertised on the menu and which accompanied the roast dinners. After the meals were sent back The waitress returned and huffed if you want another meal cooked it will be 30minutes for it to be cooked …. This is not satisfactory. I have worked in many kitchens and foh and when a meal is returned to the kitchen you normally put that tables new order to the top of the pile to replace the unsatisfactory one - perhaps this was done I don’t know I wasn’t in the kitchen but with the service up to this point not very good at all the two people whose meal had been returned decided not to reorder. So all in all a poor choice for our 40th wedding anniversary, your foh waitress needs to learn not to argue with customers, she may be right or she may be wrong but at the end of the day as we know the customer is always right or that’s what I was taught. I am disappointed to write this review as I think we are all working hard for our living, however when people are spending their hard earnt money they want good service and a good meal which wasn’t forthcoming on this occasion

Nothing is to much trouble, the food is delicious and really well priced along with the drinks. We thoroughly recommend this lovely friendly pub. I’ve just read an awful review of the family that visited on the 13th August, we were in the pub at the very same time, actually just a couple of tables away. They did nothing but complain about everything from the service to the food! Probably to get their bill down! So rude to the staff and Landlady, no manners whatsoever. After being let down by a restaurant in Dymchurch we stumbled across this gem, we had a great Sunday carvery which was delicious and plentiful and the three young girls serving where delightful, will certainly return when we are down next

This authentic Italian restaurant is hands down the best restaurant in folkestone. The staff are friendly and the food is to die for. And the food is a good price and I will recommend to every person reading this review. I 100% will be coming back.

Amazing welcome and what accommodating staff!! We turned up on Halloween not expecting a special menu and they could not do enough to supports for “off menu” requests. Super dog friendly, accommodating our 4 spaniels and a chihuahua. Will definitely be back when in the area. Amazing food, ambience and staff. Thank you

Tavern is attached to the Park Dean resort. Didn't stop for more than a needed drink on the outside tables. Inside tables all looked as if they needed a wipedown, even though the place was extremely quiet when we went.
